O que eu mais gosto nesse filme? A mania de fazer listas.

Top five things I miss about Laura:  1 - Sense of humor. Very dry, but it can also be warm and forgiving. And she’s got one of the best all time laughs in the history of all time laughs, she laughs with her entire body.  2-  she’s got character. Or at least she had character before the Ian nightmare. She’s loyal and honest, and she doesn’t even take it out on people when she’s having a bad day. That’s character. 3 – miss her smell, and the way she tastes. It’s a mystery of human chemistry and I don’t understand it, some people, as far as their senses are concerned, just feel like home. 4 – I really dig how she walks around. It’s like she doesn’t care how she looks or what she projects and it’s not that she doesn’t care it’s just, she’s not affected I guess, and that gives her grace. And 5; she does this thing in bed when she can’t get to sleep, she kinda half moans and then rubs her feet together an equal number of times… it just kills me. Believe me, I mean, I could do a top five things about her that drive me crazy but it’s just your garden variety women you know, schizo stuff and that’s the kind of thing that got me here.

No one has even seen a trailer for Iron Man 2, yet rumors are swirling around of actor Faran Tahir (leader of the Ten Rings terrorist organization that held Tony Stark hostage in the first film) returning to play the villain in the third film; Mandarin. Tahir told Moviefone the following:

“At some point, they want to introduce Mandarin into the storyline and my character, like Mandarin, was the leader of the Ten Rings. We’re leaving it open because, partly, it makes good business sense for us to leave a little bit of uncertainty for people to speculate on.”

“He [Favreau] has known for a long time where he wants to take it and I don’t want to speak for him, but my feeling is that the second movie didn’t want to just follow a singular storyline. They wanted to expand the characters to show that it’s not a linear saga like Lord of the Rings. There’s a linkage somewhere in there, but the big idea is to do at least one more Iron Man movie and then go into The Avengers.”

This revelation is nothing major, not until we set our eyes on the I.M. 2!

Over the last few months there’s been lots of talk about Augmented Reality. John Mayer launched an augmented reality enhanced music video and dozens of apps popped up for the smartphones utilising this technology. So it’s no surprise that with print in a slow decline, Esquire have jumped on the bandwagon.

This month sees Decembers issue of Esquire come to life when you log on to their website.

The front cover boasts celebrity content with Robert Downey Jr introducing the issue, whilst throwing in a quick plug of his new movie Sherlock Holmes. The rest of the AR features all supplement content in the print magazine. In one of the fashion features, tilting your magazine in different directions controls the weather, and the model adjusts clothing appropriately. There’s also a time-based joke – check out the AR component after midnight and the content changes.

There’s already been quite a buzz about this campaign and whilst I wouldn’t expect it to become the norm, it’s definitely been a great way of generating word of mouth marketing as well as encouraging new readers to the magazine.

โดยทาง Entertainment Weekly ได้สัมภาษณ์กับ โรเบิร์ต แล้วก็ได้เรื่องมาว่า

โรเบิร์ต นั้น ก็ได้เปรยๆ เอาไว้ว่า เขาอาจจะไม่อยู่ในหนังภาคต่อๆ ไป ของ Iron Man หรือ The Avengers ซึ่งมันเป็นอะไรที่น่าเสียดายจริงๆ (ถ้าเป็นเรื่องจริงนะ)

ผมคิดว่า เขาคงเหนื่อยมามากกับการแสดงจริงๆ อะไรก๊าน! จะปลงขนาดนี้เลยรึ แล้วถ้าไม่มีเฮีย โรเบิร์ต จะสานภาคต่อเรื่องราวของมนุษย์เกราะไม่เหล็ก Iron Man ภาคต่อๆ ไป ได้อย่างไร แต่เรื่อง The Avengers ไม่มีเฮียแกแสดง ก็ยังไม่เท่าไหร่ เพราะมันหนังรวมซูเปอร์ฮีโร่ โฉมหน้าที่แท้จริง อาจจะไม่จำเป็น แต่ยังไงก็นะครับ เรายังชัวร์ไม่ได้ ว่าที่เขาพูดจะเป็นเรื่องจริง ดังนั้น เราต้อง ติดตาม!! ต่อไปครับ

What West Wing fan didn’t feel all warm and fuzzy when Josh and Donna finally became a couple? I love watching the banter, the way they know each other so well, and the way neither lets the other get away with any crap. They can make each other laugh, and they are always there when needed. Josh is brilliant but arrogant, and a good friend; Donna is gullible yet savvy, smart, and can see right through him. A good tv couple, in my opinion, has loads of tension and what-if build-up. And two characters who challenge and complement each other.

And that’s why two more of my favorite couples also come from West Wing. CJ and Danny circle each other more obviously, maybe, than Josh and Donna, but the connection is still complex. And they are still two smart and funny people who get each other.

Then there’s the President and First Lady. Some of the best scenes in the show are when they’re fed up and yelling at each other, because it shows a strong relationship many years in, and with many problems and strains. They push each others buttons, but they, too, know that underneath everything is support and strength.

4. Veronica and Logan, Veronica Mars

This clip says it all, doesn’t it? Epic, volatile, dangerous, yet also vulnerable and sweet.

5. Rory & Jess, Gilmore Girls

Jess might be my favorite tv bad boy. He’s always been my favorite of Rory’s boys. He’s smart and is a reader, so can meet her on an intellectual level, but he challenges her goody-goody nature. And he just always kept coming back. In my mind, at the end of Gilmore Girls, Rory went off with Obama’s campaign, saw Jess during a stop in Philly, and they live happily ever after.

6. Ally McBeal & Larry, Ally McBeal

The favorite TV couple from the college years. Robert Downey, Jr. playing Larry completely won the hearts of me and my roommate. He and Ally are just so adorably crazy, in such compatible ways.

7. Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Scarecrow & Mrs. King

How can you not love an ’80s spy couple?

8. Roger & Joan, Mad Men

They’re funny, they’re challenging to each other, and they always know where the other stands. And who doesn’t love Joan?

Bromances. Sometimes the best couples are friendships rather than romances.

9. Seth & Ryan, The O. C.

I never really watched much of The O. C. because I couldn’t stand the girls. But every once and a while I’d turn it on and would be totally charmed by the friendship between Seth and Ryan. They’re hilarious, and such terrific friends.

10. Stefan & Damon, The Vampire Diaries

They so often make me laugh! I think their banter may be one of the main reasons I have gotten so into this show.

Robert Downey Jr. will think about winding down his film career if his new detective movie Sherlock Holmes flops.

However, he admitted that he will do a Jay-Z by proclaiming his retirement and then returning months later with an exciting new project, reports The Daily Express.

He tells Entertainment Weekly, “I can only be a guy on a call sheet probably, I don”t know, maybe a couple more times. It’’s something I”m so grateful to have in my palm, and yet I already see its inevitable decay.

“If Sherlock Holmes performs well, I could be busy for the next 5 or 7 or 10 years. But we”d like to go ahead and suggest the Jay-Z model wherein one announces his retirement, soaks in all the requisite fanfare, and then behaves like it never happened. It’’s really the best of both worlds.”

ผมคิดว่าเป็นวิธีที่ดีทีเดียว ในการเอาตัวอย่างแรกไปแปะหนังเรื่อง Sherlock Holmes เนื่องจาก พระเอกนั้น ก็คนเดียวกัน!! ซึ่งก็คือ โรเบิร์ต ดาวนี่ย์ จูเนียร์ ครับ ดูๆ ไปแล้ว หนังเรื่องนี้ ก็เป็นอีกหนังแนวซูเปอร์ฮีโร่หนึ่ง ที่คนชื่นชอบกันเยอะ เนื่องจากตัวหนังนั้น ทำออกมาได้ดี แต่คราวนี้แหละครับ แฟนๆ ก็จะได้น้ำลายสอกับตัวอย่างแรก ของภาคต่อที่สองของ Iron Man ที่จะกลับมาทำให้เราประทับใจอีกครั้ง

Robert Downey Jr. tells Entertainment Weekly:

“I’ve never had it this good — this is my day in the sun — and I certainly don’t want to look a gift horse in the molars. But [my wife] Susan and I want to begin to be in our lives as much as we are in our jobs. I’d love just to sit here and say, ‘What movie’s playing tonight?’ I’d love to finish the new book about D-day I’m reading. I love painting, I love music.”

Let’s hope Downey Jr. and Susan get to do just that. Enjoy life more with each other.

So, I finally got around to choosing a new theme for my blog, and redesigning a new header to suit it as well. I’m not entirely happy with it yet, the booger-green color accents are leaving me a little MEH. But all in all, I think I can deal with it.

La revista Forbes, puñetera ella, acaba de publicar la lista de los actores menos amados en Hollywood. En realidad, lo que recopila esta publicación es la relación de los intérpretes menos rentables. Pero tal y como está el patio, con Hollywood más en plan industria que nunca, mirando cada céntimo invertido en una producción, no resultar rentable equivale a no ser querido… o, directamente, a ser odiado. He ahí el pecado de estos hombres (y una mujer): sacarle poco jugo a sus sueldos, más o menos generosos, pero soñados por cualquier mortal.

Se lleva la palma Will Ferrel, actor ¿cómico? que no deja de embarcarse en proyectos a cual más fallidos y que recauda 3,29 dólares por cada uno que se embolsa. Esta cifra, así, sin ponerla en contexto puede dejarnos fríos, pero acudamos a la socorrida comparación que nos proporciona la propia Forbes: en el extremo opuesto, la antítesis de Ferrell, el tierno Shia LaBeouf, gracias a sus dos Transformers, genera 160 dólares por película. ¡Casi 50 veces más que Ferrell! Tremendo.

Aquí se puede consultar ambas listas, la de los losers y la de los winners. Para los que sientan pereza ante el trámite, vaya por delante que a Ferrell, entre los menos rentables, le siguen Ewan McGregor, Billy Bob Thornton, Eddie Murphy y Ice Cube. Menudo plantel. Salvo Billy Bob, y en menor medida Ewan, el resto son para echarles de comer aparte (Ice Cube no debe ser siquiera considerado actor). En el otro extremo de la balanza, a LaBeouf le siguen James McAvoy, Michael Cera, Daniel Radcliffe y Robert Downey Jr.

Conclusión: para ser rentable hay que saber actuar (un mínimo), elegir bien el proyecto y, a poder ser, caer en una de esas superproducciones que hacen muchos dólares. Claro que a estas listas tampoco hay que concederles más importancia de la necesaria: si tu caché es bajo, es fácil que salgas bien parado en términos de productividad, y viceversa. Lo grave para Ferrell y compañía es que, a buen seguro, los ejecutivos de Hollywood sí se toman estas cosas muy, pero que muy en serio.

People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive issue is about to come out, and they announced their cover boy – Johnny Depp.

Not exactly a surprising or risky choice, but not to say the man isn’t sexy. Because he is. I approve.

They also gave a “sneak preview” of the other men who are the sexiest of the year – or who have the hardest working publicists.

Really, Nick Cannon? Jerry O’Connell? Adam Lambert? THESE are the men that we find the sexiest? Who honestly picks them? I have had the “who would you do – celebrity edition” conversation many times with many different people, and these names don’t come up.

But I guess if People tuned into what people actually find sexy – which is more often than not, niche actors and not the big names that sell magazines, they well, wouldn’t sell magazines. But wouldn’t you love to read a People magazine with Sexiest Man Alive – Daniel Day Lewis, featuring Daniel Hennesy, Nathan Fillion and Chiwetel Ejiofor instead of the same old RPatzz and Zefron?

But hey, let’s not be so negetive. The full list hasn’t been revealed, so maybe all those guys make the cut! (Doubtful). But at least I can enjoy the choices they got right – Robert Downey Jr and my bb John Cho. Yes please!

I really enjoying cooking (k, more so eating good food).  I someday hope to have a quaint and lovely kitchen.  It’s kind of illegal (I’m guessing) but my roommate and I look at food magazines and take pictures of recipe’s with our iPhones…  We would totally buy the magazine… you know, if we weren’t so poor.  I think I’ll put foodie mags on my Christmas list.  = P

I think when I finish my book on screen printing I’ll reward myself by learning/crafting with resin.

9.  2 Modern Wine rack

I’m itching to turn 21!  Mainly because I like the swank accessories, I will openly admit.  I love this wine rack!  It’s cool, modern, and reminds me of Pushing Daisies!  So much win in one product.

In “Tropic Thunder,” a band of movie stars, filming what appears to parody Francis Coppola’s “Apocalypse Now,” are dropped in the middle of the jungle by their director in attempt to make the actors live out the plot line, thus bringing out their most creative acting. The characters are fictional celebrities within the movie, and they serve as satirical forms of behind the scenes celebrity culture. Chip Sullivan, a DreamWorks spokesman, said the movie was “an R-rated comedy that satirizes Hollywood and its excesses and makes its point by featuring inappropriate and over-the-top characters in ridiculous situations” (Wynter). Twentieth century celebrity culture dissects how the idea of fame has become an obsession, and how the entity of “celebrity” is a manufactured product. “Tropic Thunder” satirizes the actions of the movie-making industry and its players. Here’s proof in the official trailer:

First, “Tropic Thunder” satirizes fame and celebrity culture, and how they are portrayed within the media. “Tropic Thunder” shows how the publicity industry “focuses attention on the worthy and unworthy alike” (Gamson 2). Tugg Speedman’s (Ben Stiller) career as an actor is on the decline. Throughout the film, there are references to his declining celebrity, and the need for the movie to do well or he may never work again. In a mock interview with Speedman from the movie, Tyra Banks: “You have no real family, you’re on the wrong side of forty, and you’re childless and alone. Someone close to you said ‘one more flop and its over’.” This is an attempt to focus on the unworthy within the public eye.

Second, “Tropic Thunder” satirizes the business of the movie making industry. “Power was in the hands of studios, which were firmly committed to a mass production system. Movie manufacturers adapted the star system to the industry’s needs” (Gamson 5). This is obvious within “Tropic Thunder,” the plot line calls for the kidnapping of Tugg Speedman by drug-traffickers for a one-hundred million dollar ransom, to be paid by his studio. Because his career is on the decline, and because major studios often see their ‘stars’ as commodities, products, or business investments, Les Grossman (Tom Cruise) the head of Speedman’s studio consider’s not paying the ransom and letting Speedman die. Here’s what happens first, followed by the dialogue:

Rick Peck: Now let me get this straight. You want me to let my client of 15 years, one of my best friends, die in the jungle alone, for some money and a G5?

Les Grossman: Yes

Rick Peck: A G5 airplane?

Les Grossman: Yes… and lots of money… playaaaa!

Obviously this is a stretch of what business policies made by major movie production companies may be concerning their clients/products, but it is satirical in that these conglomerates can ‘kill’ the career of any one of their stars at any minute if they believe it is a better decision for their business.

“In the Winter of 1969, an elite force of the US Army was sent on a top secret assignment in Southeast Vietnam. The objective: rescue Sgt. Four Leaf Tayback from a heavily guarded NVA Prison Camp.
