<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Gister was weer zo&#8217;n dag die &#8216;klopte&#8217;, zo eentje waarop ik helemaal samenval met wat ik aan het doen ben. Samen met Hans fotografeerde ik op (en buiten) het terrein van Amerpoort, een instelling die in de provincie Utrecht en &#8216;t Gooi diensten aan mensen met een beperking verleent. <a href="http://www.robingood.nl" target="_blank">Robin Good</a> &#8211; voor wie ik regelmatig fotografeer &#8211; koppelde een bedrijf aan deze instelling en zo ging een grote groep werknemers een hele dag aan de slag om het voor de bewoners wat aangenamer en mooier te maken. Gezamelijk legden ze een tuin aan, knapten een familiekamer op, namen bewoners mee naar Artis en de Beekse Bergen, aten samen spekpannenenkoeken en er werd een ad hoc &#8216;wellness centre&#8217; ingericht. De schoonheidsspecialistes kwamen te laat door ellendig lange files, maar dat gaf niet: een groepje verstandelijk gehandicapten was in gespannen afwachting en maakte vast plannen over hoe ze er aan het eind van de dag uit wilden zien: als prinses met engelenhaar en rode nagellak. Rood, want dat is de kleur van de liefde, dat weet je toch wel? Caroline glunderde van de aandacht en toen ik tegen haar zei dat ze er prachtig uitzag, hoorde ik luid en duidelijk: &#8217;slijmbal&#8217;. Het kwam uit de stemcomputer van Daniël, die hij met een stompje hand bediende vanuit zijn rolstoel. &#8216;Slijmbal!&#8217;, en hij maakte een lach. Een paar uur later hing hij in een tillift. Zijn voeten ontbloot en een schoonheidsspecialiste gaf hem een ontspannende voetmassage. Hij genoot, net als de oudere vrouw die niets van haar lichaam op eigen kracht kon bewegen, behalve dan haar ogen. En die straalden toen ze de dikke witte crème in langzame draaiende bewegingen over haar gezicht voelde gaan. Met roodgelakte nagels werd ze later over de gang weggereden. De prinses had inmiddels een knalrose stola om en toen ze daarmee samen met haar vriendinnen en de directeur van bedrijf mocht poseren voor een officiële foto, kon haar geluk niet meer op. De directeur sprak geen Nederlands en in het Engels hoorde ik de prinses zeggen dat zij wel &#8216;in the middle&#8217; zou gaan staan. En daar hoorde ze ook, wat mij betreft.</p>

Het is een selectie van beelden die Hans en ik samen maakten. Aan het eind van de middag kwamen we elkaar weer tegen en we voelden hetzelfde, dat hoefde niet uitgesproken te worden.</p>
<p><em><strong>10 december: Het bedrijf wil liever nog niet dat ik beeld online zet voordat zij zelf &#8216;naar buiten gecommuniceerd hebben&#8217;: de diashow op YouTube staat dus even &#8216;on hold&#8217;. Bovenstaande link werkt daarom tijdelijk niet.</strong></em></p>

<title><![CDATA[La Storia di Robin Good]]></title>

<p>Una storia che cominciò tanto tempo fa, nel Web 1.0&#8230;quando re Riccardo Cuor di Leone partì per un barcamp, e il fratello spammer Giovanni prese il suo posto.</p>
<p>Quelli erano tempi duri.</p>
<p>Infatti Giovanni intasava di spam le caselle E-Mail di tutti i sudditi del regno.</p>
<p>Mentre si stava dirigendo a Nottingham per spammare altri utenti, ebbe la cattiva idea di passare per <a href="http://www.masternewmedia.org/it/">Sharewood</a>, la foresta in cui viveva Robin Good.</p>
<p>Come si divertiva Giovanni nella carrozza, mentre faceva partire montagne di spam! &#8220;Spamma il Povero per il divertimento del Ricco,&#8221; spiegava il principe soddisfatto a Sir Biss, suo fedele consigliere.</p>
<p>Ma c&#8217;era qualcuno che non era d&#8217;accordo con il principe: Robin Good, infatti, preferiva usare Google AdSense per far guadagnare i poveri.</p>
<p>E il ricco principe Giovanni stava passando proprio sotto il suo naso.</p>
<p>Un&#8217;occasione&#8230;lamer!</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p>Così Robin Good e Little John, travestiti da tecnici di Google, fecero capolino sul bordo della strada.</p>
<p>&#8220;Previsioni sui futuri visitatori del blog!&#8221; gridò Little John alzando un Mac Book.</p>
<p>&#8220;Dei tecnici&#8230;divertente!&#8221; esclamò Giovanni facendo fermare la carrozza.</p>
<p>Anche se il consigliere gli aveva detto di non fidarsi, il principe lasciò che Robin e Little John gli baciassero le mani&#8230;e i due ne approfittarono per sottrargli molti dati dal suo anello Usb!</p>
<p>Sir Biss se n&#8217;era accorto, ma Giovanni come al solito non gli diede retta.</p>
<p>Poi, senza attirare l&#8217;attenzione dei soldati, con una memory card infettò il PC del principe e prelevò qualche filtro Anti-Spam!</p>
<p>Intanto Robin Good, con la scusa di installare un software, era riuscito a distrarre il principe e a rubargli perfino il MacBook.</p>
<p>&#8220;Ladri, mi hanno derubato!&#8221; gridò Giovanni mentre i due amici scappavano via.</p>
<p>Con i dati rubati, Robin Good aiutava i poveri della città di Nottingham, insegnando loro come bloggare al meglio, e rifornendoli di filtri Anti-Spam.</p>
<p>Per colpa del troppo spam, infatti, la gente era ridotta in povertà perché i filtri Anti-Spam costavano molto.</p>
<p>E come se non bastasse c&#8217;era lo Sceriffo, sempre pronto a punire chi non pagava per avere i filtri!</p>
<p>Lo sceriffo era molto furbo e sapeva chi tenere d&#8217;occhio: il buon Fra Tac, per esempio, che distribuiva ai poveri i filtri rubati da Robin Good!</p>
<p>Quel giorno il frate aveva appena portato un filtro al fabbro, quando si sentì bussare alla porta: era lo Sceriffo, che trovò presto il filtro nascosto nel gesso della sua gamba rotta.</p>
<p>&#8220;Brutto aguzzino senza cuore!&#8221; gridò Fra Tac, ma anche arrabbiarsi non serviva a nulla.</p>
<p>Non contento lo Sceriffo poco dopo portò via il regalo di compleanno al coniglietto Saetta, anche se era solo una Memory Card!</p>
<p>Mamma Coniglia non credeva ai proprio occhi&#8230;come poteva essere tanto cattivo?</p>
<p>Mamma Coniglia e i suoi piccoli erano veramente tristi, ma una visita inaspettata li consolò: un povero mendicante.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sii forte, figliolo e non lasciarti abbattere!&#8221; disse il mendicante al coniglietto, accarezzandolo.</p>
<p>Poi alzò il capuccio&#8230;e tutti riconobbero Robin Good!</p>
<p>Non si era mai visto un coniglietto più felice di Saetta, quando Robin gli regalò una Memory Card da 3 Gb ed un cavetto per scaricare il filmati dal suo cellulare.</p>
<p>&#8220;Che bello!&#8221; esclamò il piccolo, anche se il cavetto era lungo due volte la sua altezza e ci poteva inciampare.</p>
<p>Saetta corse subito al PC in camera sua con i fratellini: voleva provare la Memory Card.</p>
<p>Vi trovò dentro un documento Word con due indirizzi E-Mail.</p>
<p>Uno del principe Giovanni e uno di Lady Marian.</p>
<p>Aggiunse Lady Marian su MSN e cominciò a chattarci.</p>
<p>Scoprì che in realtà Lady Marian, aiutata da Lady Cocca, controllava i traffici di Spam di Giovanni.</p>
<p>Con prudenza Saetta chiese di poterla aiutare anche lui.</p>
<p>Ma Lady Marian rifiutò.</p>
<p>Così uno dei fratellini di Saetta si mise in mezzo e con una velocità degna di Speedy Gonzales digitò: &#8220;La mamma dice che tu e Rodin Good siete fidanzati&#8221;.</p>
<p>Queste parole fecero sospirare Marian.</p>
<p>Eh, sì, tra lei e l&#8217;eroe c&#8217;era un grande amore!</p>
<p>Per Marian Robin aveva creato uno spazio web apposta per loro, dove lasciarsi messaggi d&#8217;amore alla larga dallo Spam di Giovanni.</p>
<p>Intanto Fra Tac aveva raggiunto Robin e Little John nella foresta.</p>
<p>Mentre assaggiava il loro pranzo, annunciò allegro: &#8220;Il principe Giovanni ha indetto un bando per creare siti web. E Lady Marian darà un bacio al vincitore!&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Andiamo!&#8221; esclamò felicissimo Robin. &#8220;Che cosa stiamo aspettando?&#8221;</p>
<p>Chi poteva immaginare che il bando fosse solo un trucco per attirare Robin Good allo scoperto e arrestarlo?</p>
<p>Il principe Giovanni, infatti, era sicuro che l&#8217;eroe avrebbe partecipato, visto che era un ottimo editore online.</p>
<p>Il torneo si aprì con una magnifica sfilata: in premio c&#8217;era una chiavetta USB d&#8217;oro da un TB!</p>
<p>Robin, come previsto dal principe Giovanni, si presentò travestito da Steve Jobs. Quando si avvicinò a Lady Marian disse &#8220;Spero di vincere il bacio!&#8221; e in quel momento lei capì che aveva di fronte Robin Good.</p>
<p>Robin e lo Sceriffo erano i più bravi. Riuscirono a mettere su due siti web che avrebbero fatto invidia a tutti.</p>
<p>Ma alla fine della gara, a causa della sua indiscussa bravura, Robin Good fu riconosciuto e arrestato.</p>
<p>Allora Little John, seduto accanto al principe Giovanni, prese il suo computer e minacciò il principe di infettare con uno dei più disastrosi virus ogni computer di sua proprietà a meno che non avesse liberato il suo compare.</p>
<p>Una volta liberato Robin, le guardie scoprirono che in realtà non esisteva nessun virus e il principe ricominciò ad urlare ordini alla sua polizia postale.</p>
<p>Successe il finimondo, ma alla fine Robin, Little John, Lady Marian e tutti i loro amici riuscirono a fuggire nella foresta di Sharewood.</p>
<p>Nel frattempo lo Sceriffo aveva arrestato Fra Tac perché trovato in possesso di Filtri Anti-Spam piratati.</p>
<p>Quando il principe lo scoprì ebbe un&#8217;idea.</p>
<p>Avrebbe fatto impiccare il frate così sarebbe riuscito ad arrestare Robin Good.</p>
<p>Quella stessa notte Robin andò al castello del principe e con l&#8217;aiuto di Little John liberò tutti coloro che erano stati arrestati dallo Sceriffo.</p>
<p>Approfittando di quella &#8220;visita&#8221; al castello Robin ne approfittò per saccheggiare la scorta di Anti-Spam del principe.</p>
<p>Il principe Giovanni si svegliò e diede l&#8217;allarme.</p>
<p>Per sfuggire ai soldati Robin salì sulla torre più alta del castello, dove rimase bloccato dalle fiamme.</p>
<p>Allora in preda al panico Robin si legò un cavo per internet alla cinta e legò l&#8217;altra estremità ad una sporgenza di ferro e si lanciò nel vuoto.</p>
<p>Visto che il cavo era troppo corto fu costretto a tagliarlo e finì nel fossato sottostante la torre.</p>
<p>Il principe Giovanni già stava esultando per la morte di Robin, ma quando lo vide riaffiorare sulla superficie dell&#8217;acqua, cominciò a battere i piedi per terra.</p>

But, at the same time, online video consumption is a <a href="http://newteevee.com/2009/01/05/time-spent-watching-video-jumps-40-in-one-year/">strengthening</a> <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/12/30/nielsen-95b-video-streams-in-november/">reality</a> that won&#8217;t be suppressed by tough economic times. So, if you&#8217;re involved in a video venture looking out at the spread for 2009, where do you stand? <iframe src='http://digg.com/api/diggthis.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fdigg.com%2Ftech_news%2FYour_Favorite_Video_Startup_Might_Shut_Down_in_2009' height='82' width='55' frameborder='0' scrolling='no' style='float: right; margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 5px; padding: 4px 0 2px 4px; background: #fff;'></iframe></p>

The big news items for video startups (and young, internal ventures at big companies) in 2008 were acquisitions, layoffs and shut-downs — and of course fundings. Many of the companies we cover raised funding last year, though the pace of new investments slowed along with the economy. (As for including a category for IPOs&#8230;<a href="http://www.pehub.com/27418/2008-worst-vc-backed-liquidity-year-since-2003/">yeah right</a>.) To recap some of the highlights (and lowlights):</p>

<p><strong>Acquisitions</strong>: There were no blockbuster acquisitions in 2008 &#8212; at this point it seems impossible that anyone will ever match 2006&#8217;s Google-YouTube. At $160 million, Yahoo-Maven was probably the biggest deal that&#8217;s directly relevant to our space, but that deal has faded, along with the products involved. Other than a couple biggies on this list, you&#8217;ll be forgiven if you hardly recognize any of the names.</p>

<p><strong><br />
Shut down</strong>: This category was actually smaller than we might have expected, given how tough it is to succeed in this business. Last year, when we asked a <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/01/02/newteevee-online-video-predictions-for-2008/">panel of online video experts</a> &#8212; from video makers to professors to VCs and media execs &#8212; what would happen in 2008, one of the most common answers was that me-too video sites would shut down. Here&#8217;s <a href="http://newteevee.com/2007/12/29/ntv-predictions-who-will-fail/">what they told us</a>:</p>

<li>&#8220;If you are running an online video company that features non-premium, commodity content and you missed the Internet ‘network effect’ enjoyed by YouTube and a few others, it might be time to cash out.”</li>
<li>&#8220;Sadly, the second-tier video sites this year will sell to larger companies or fade away.&#8221;</li>
<li> &#8220;Any of the companies who have raised $15 million or more and are running out of funds now are in serious danger.&#8221;</li>
</ul>

<p>Well, it turns out doomsday wasn&#8217;t quite nigh&#8230; But it&#8217;s a good bet that many of the startups on the layoffs list will be forced to make even deeper cuts in 2009.</p>
<p><a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/02/25/divx-to-nix-stage6/">Stage6</a> (DivX&#8217;s video portal), <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/05/23/developing-akimbo-closed-for-good/">Akimbo</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/03/04/firebrand-put-out-of-its-misery/">Firebrand</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/03/03/p2p-start-up-allpeers-closing-down/">AllPeers</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/03/25/vid-biz-iphone-imeem-youtube/">Peerflix</a>, <a href="http://www.p2p-blog.com/item-884.html">Streamcast Networks</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/04/07/scripps-owned-pickle-shuts-down-service/">Pickle</a> (after being acquired by Scripps), <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/05/03/whatever-happened-to-red-swoosh/">Red Swoosh</a> (after being acquired by Akamai), <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/06/06/rip-sandisks-taketv-fanfare-shut-down/">SanDisk&#8217;s Fanfare and TakeTV</a>, Starz Entertainment&#8217;s online service <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/08/12/vongo-is-gone-go/">Vongo</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/10/16/skyriders-demise-shows-p2p-spamming-doesnt-pay/">Skyrider</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/08/12/clickstar-down-hoping-on-a-sale/">ClickStar</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/11/20/vid-biz-cbs-netflixbox-adconion/">Moblogic</a> (after CBS acquired Wallstrip), <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/11/28/vid-biz-tvtonic-mobuzz-tivo/">Mobuzz</a>, <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/12/17/jumpcut-no-longer-accepting-uploads/">Jumpcut</a> (after being acquired by Yahoo), <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/10/02/eyespot-shuts-down-did-someone-press-fast-forward-on-the-video-editing-startups/">Eyespot</a> (though the assets were <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/12/19/pixelfish-picks-up-eyespot/">acquired by PixelFish</a>),</p>
<p>But people are watching more and more online video, from user-generated video to TV episodes to a growing portion of web video originals. Here are the <strong>consumption stats</strong>:</p>
<p>Unfortunately, global video stats are hard to come by, but here&#8217;s one impressive measure of how much video has infiltrated our lives: <a href="http://newteevee.com/2009/01/05/time-spent-watching-video-jumps-40-in-one-year/">comScore says</a> U.S. online video watchers watched 273.1 minutes of online video in the month of November 2008, up from 195 minutes in November 2007. And the number was only 151 minutes in January 2007. A 40 percent increase in consumption in a single year is massive, and there&#8217;s no reason to think it will go away.</p>
<p>And what about the money? Here&#8217;s what we&#8217;re looking at for <strong>market size</strong>:</p>
<p>eMarketer has been looking at video advertising revenue closely. First it <a href="http://www.emarketer.com/Article.aspx?id=1005193">said</a> 2008 would net $1.3 billion in U.S. video ad revenue, but then halfway through the year it <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/10/06/wheres-the-money-in-online-video/">revised</a> that estimate to $505 million. By the end of the year, that number was <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/11/25/video-ad-spending-growth-to-drop-dramatically/">bumped up</a> to $587 million. Notwithstanding the whole &#8220;track record&#8221; thing, here&#8217;s this year&#8217;s eMarketer forecast: $850 million in U.S. online video ads 2009.</p>
<p>As for paid video, it&#8217;s the red-headed step-child of video business models &#8212; but it&#8217;s also being opened up in new ways by services like Netflix, which includes unlimited online streaming with most of its physical DVD rental plans, and sports services like the <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/09/01/mlb-hits-it-out-of-the-park-online/">exemplary MLB.tv</a>. <a href="http://www.abiresearch.com/home.jsp">ABI Research</a> forecasts $2.49 billion in worldwide &#8212; N.B. worldwide, not just U.S.! &#8212; revenue for paid video over broadband, more than double the $1.16 billion it estimated for 2008.</p>
<p>So what&#8217;s next on the agenda? I am generally uncomfortable with predictions, given how self-serving they are (plus I hate to be obvious or wrong). But here are some of the most <strong>provocative and specific video-related predictions</strong> I&#8217;ve seen from people who take an active interest in the space.</p>
<ul>
<li>Rise of video use by marketers for SEO &#8212; &#8220;a short cut to the top of Google&#8221; (<a href="http://willvideoforfood.com/2008/12/31/draft-video-predictions-for-2009/">Kevin Nalty</a>)</li>
<li>Growing market for cheap video stock footage (<a href="http://www.masternewmedia.org/new-media-trends-and-predictions-2009/">Robin Good</a>)</li>
<li>Influence of video on politics deepens with President Elect Barack Obama&#8217;s fireside chats (<a href="http://mashable.com/2008/12/30/video-predictions-2009/">Alex Castro</a>)</li>
<li>Closure of most of the startups on this list: Revision3, ON Networks, NextNewNetworks, 23/6, Funny or Die &#8212; &#8220;Normal people have no idea what any of these things are.&#8221; (<a href="http://www.fimoculous.com/archive/post-5566.cfm">Rex Sorgatz</a>)</li>
<li>&#8220;The biggest trend in online video is where and on what people will watch&#8221; (<a href="http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=Articles.san&#38;s=97283&#38;Nid=50687&#38;p=929220">Hulu CEO Jason Kilar</a>). Is this a smoke signal given the source? Hulu was the break-out story of 2008, but it&#8217;s only available on the web right now. Meanwhile, the push to bring web content to the TV, driven by Netflix, is gearing up to be a <a href="http://newteevee.com/2008/12/30/2008-set-top-boxes-set-up-for-a-fight/">prominent storyline in 2009</a>.</li>
</ul>
<p>So, there you have it, a cornucopia of data points and pointers. Of course, when it all comes down to it, silly things like founder dynamics, funders&#8217; indulgence, and luck will likely have as much a part in your success or failure as the market. What&#8217;s sad is that we may not see a lot of new startups this year, just at a time when some of the best ideas about online video are being crystallized into shows, products and services that people actually want and enjoy. But if you&#8217;re lucky enough to have a little runway left, we hope to see you out there.</p>

Compra un mobile da una ditta che crede seria, gliene arriva un&#8217;altro, posta sul suo blog un articolo dove descrive tutta la sua vicenda&#8230;<br />
10 giugno 2008 il mobilificio lo querela per 400.000€.</p>
<p>L&#8217;iniziativa che lancia Marco, è quella di dire seriamente &#8220;denuncia anche me&#8221;, perchè le denuncie che come dice lui fanno s mpre paura, non possono limitare la libertà di espressione di una persona, soprattutto su un mezzo come Intenret, dove sempre, ogni giorno migliaia di persone combattono per la sua neutralità e libertà al suo interno.<br />
Sergio Sarnari è vittima di un ingiustizia, sosteniamolo, e sostenendo lui sosteniamo noi stessi e tutti i bloggers, ai quali troppo spesso viene dato poco peso, quando sono loro che fanno la notizia, e saranno loro che faranno i TG 2.0</p>
<p>naturalmente, poi, come dimostra <a href="http://www.ikaro.net/articoli/cnt/querele_ai_blogger-00651.html">Ikaro</a>, querelare un blog è controprodicente, perchè facendo ciò se ne aumenta la visibilità, sale nelle quotazioni google, e quindi tutto dignifica querelare Google, il blogger, i suoi sostenitori, i suoi &#8220;commentatari&#8221;, e insomma&#8230; invece di credere di aver trovato il pollo a cui spillare 400.000€, la <a href="http://blogsearch.google.it/blogsearch?hl=it&#38;ie=UTF-8&#38;q=mosaico+arredamenti&#38;btnG=Cerca+nei+Blog&#38;lr=">Mosaico Arredament</a>i ne perde un milione.</p>
<p>Sosteniamolo ed impediamo questa disumana censura, almeno su Internet</p>
