To optimize your ability to fill up forms and offers, there is a simply and very convenient way. Which is the use of RoboForm.

RoboForm allows user to fill up forms simply with a click of the mouse, and you get to complete offers within the blink of an eye.

Click here to get RoboForm, it is also virus and malware free.

Simply install RoboForm and you would be set on your way to configuring a simple method to fill up surveys.

STEP 1 Creating an Identity

Alright, after installation of RoboForm, you should be able to find it on your taskbar.

Right click the RoboForm icon, and go to Tools -> Edit Identities.

Go to Identity -> New Identity. You would then be prompted to fill in the Identity name and country. Check “My identity” instead of “contact”.

You would then be greeted with the summary page, along with other tabs – Person, Business, Address, Credit Card, Bank Account, Authentication and Custom.

STEP 2 Filling in your identity (person)

Remember, most surveys and registrations are based on the same template, as such, if you are able to nail the questions asked in registrations and prepare the answers in Roboform, you would be able to fill up the form in no time.

The key information you have to fill in <Person> would be your name, phone number, email, sex, birth date and income.

Note: As most forms require income, income should be written with a comma. E.g 20,000

After these paticulars are filled, move on to Address. Ignoring business.

STEP 3 Filling in your identity (Address)

This is self explanatory. There are only a few blanks to fill in, simply your address and the postcode, which is important.

STEP 4 Filling in your identity (Authentication)

As most, if not all, registration forms require you to submit a suggested username and password for your account, it may get tiresome to do so repetitively.

The only two bars that require information would be Favourite User ID and Favourite Password.

After this is completed, move on to Custom.

STEP 5 Filling in your identity (Custom)

If you have followed step 1 to 4 accurately, it should be able to cover most of the registration forms. However, there is often a bunch of information that forms love to ask and yet RoboForm is unable to sufficiently cover them.

Therefore, the tab Custom allows you to fill in the form questions, your answers and variants of your answer.

An example has been provided.
Simply put in the Survey/form question into the boxes on the left.

Your answers go into the middle boxes.

And other possible matchings go into the boxes on the right.

As you can see, the free version only provides 3 rows, therefore there might still be blanks in surveys or forms that may require you to fill it up yourself, however, it is a great reduction from the amount you had to fill.

After this is completed, click Save and Close.

STEP 6 Filling in a survey or form

Find yourself a survey or a form from GamingLagoon. On your browser (internet explorer, mozilla firefox etc.) you should be able to find a new toolbar – the roboform toolbar.

On the roboform toolbar, you should be able to spot your new identity you created minutes ago.

When you are at the survey/form, simply click the identity. The form will be magically filled up. This will help you save much time manually filling in the offers.

As such, using Roboform would allow you to finish offers at a muuuuuch faster rate and you would be able to fill up more offers from GamingLagoon and accumulate more points to exchange for free gaming prizes.

Still not acquainted with GamingLagoon? Click here or read my previous post.

Posted by chodirin on Friday, October 17th, 2008

Sangat cepat bukan?

Script Prefill Comments bisa didownload di sini

Extension Greasemonkey bisa didownload di sini

Untuk mengisi form komentar pertama kali ataupun untuk mengubah isinya, tekan tombol Alt+Shift+C. Isi berturut-turut nama, email dan URL. Kemudian tekan OK dan restart Firefox.

Hey, there. Have we met? I’m Jessica. I’m kinda new here. I’m coming to you live (or, to be truthful, the night before) from Go-to-Land (also known as “my living room”). I make cards. Lots of them. Small ones. Tall ones. Pretty ones. Other ones that are not so pretty and end up visiting the circular file (also known as the “trash can”). But what happens to the ones that are lucky enough to survive inspection? They visit a little place where opportunity is always knocking…the land of submissions.

It’s a fun place, my friends. Super fun. And if you’ve never visited the land of submissions, have no fear. I’ve put all of my best submission tips together to help you out.

1. Make a Plan & Plan to Make

Keep track of calls

You see that little word up there in blue that says “Submit?” The super fab editors at PC keep this section of the site updated with all the current magazine calls for submissions. Keep an eye on this page and you’ll always be on top of what to make.

Use a planner for organization

This is a system that I’ve developed after many years, many trials, and many errors. I have one office planner dedicated solely to paper crafting. It is not huge. It is not fancy. It is simple and it simply works. I use the monthly calendar to track the due dates and the weekly/daily section to track the specifics about the calls.

Sketch it out

My planner also serves as my creative assistant. It has plenty of extra space in the daily section to house all my inner brainstorming sessions. As I get a few moments here and there, I’ll get the ideas flowing and jot them down. I include sketches, materials, and any other flashes of brilliance (ha!). Again, nothing fancy. Just scribbles with a pencil.

2. Work Smarter, Not Harder!

Keep track of materials as you go

As I’m sitting at my work table (also known as the “dining room table”) I keep my planner open beside me. I start a list for each card and as I finish one, I jot down all the materials I used on it. It’s so much easier to keep track of everything while it’s still out on the table.

Compile everything in a Word document

After I snap a few pics of my hopefully-oh-so-lovely projects, it’s time to compile all of my submission info into a simple Word document. Again, nothing fancy. It’s easiest for me to just type out the materials, instructions, and size of each card and keep it all in one document.

Use RoboForm

Next I head on over to the submission form (you’ll need to login first). I used to type in all my personal info every time I submitted a project, but now I just use RoboForm. Listen up, folks, because this is the single greatest invention since the paper cutter. RoboForm is a program that you can download that is essentially an automatic form filler. You give it the information once and it will provide you with a toolbar so that you simply click one button to fill out your name, address, phone number, email, etc. It is awesome. Such a time saver.

Copy & paste & you’re done!

All that’s left to do is fill out all the details about the card. Just copy and paste it all from your Word document into the form. The best part about it is that if your project is picked for up publication, all the information you’ll need later is already completed. It’s also ready to go if you end up posting your cards to your blog or an online gallery (like the one right here… hint hint!).

I’ve been keeping my eye out for the next call for submissions… it will be sent out on Oct. 21 for the May/June 2010 issue. With that thought in mind, I went to my work table in search of some summer fun designs and came up with this…

Here’s to hoping that this little one gets lucky in the land of submissions!

It’s an exciting time to be a web worker, what with all of the great browser choices we now ha

It’s an exciting time to be a web worker, what with all of the great browser choices we now have available to us. Firefox may be the preferred browser for many of us, but Chrome (s goog), Safari (s aapl) and Opera are also compelling options.

Despite these choices, I’ve pretty much been locked into either Firefox or Internet Explorer (s msft) because of my reliance on the RoboForm password manager, which is only compatible with those browsers. The lack of Google Chrome support has been particularly frustrating to me. I’m impressed with the speed and resource management of Chrome, but without the easy access to my passwords that I’ve grown accustomed to, it hasn’t been an option for serious consideration. But a couple of recent announcments by Siber, the maker of Roboform, are changing that.

If you’re an adventurous soul, you may want to take a look at a public release of a Chromium build with an adapter that makes it compatible with the latest versions of RoboForm. Chromium is the open-source project that is the basis for the Google Chrome browser.

It’s an alpha build, and my browser is too important to me to risk using it for my day-to-day work quite yet — but it’s a terribly exciting development and shows the first real movement I’ve seen towards a port.

A more feasible option for most folks is to use the new RoboForm Bookmarklet which, in conjunction with the RoboForm Online service, provides access to your passwords from alternative browsers or on computers without a RoboForm installation. Drag the bookmarklet up to your toolbar and after logging in to your online account you’ll have access to all of your stored passwords.

The functionality of the bookmarklet is good, but isn’t yet a replacement for the full installed product. I find that the login expires quickly, requiring me to log in to my account frequently throughout the day, even after requesting it to remain active. I also miss the ability to create new logins on the fly, an option not available from within the bookmarklet.

On the plus side, one of the things I’ve always appreciated about RoboForm is the ability to maintain multiple password sets for a site and am glad to see that this feature is retained with bookmarklet access.

Both of these projects are still in their early stages, but really represent big steps toward cross-browser, cross-platform availability of a single password set.

5 Software products and 5 Websites that I cannot live without

Internet can well be called a necessity in today’s technology-driven life. For me, personally, internet is the one thing that I absolutely cannot live without. Recently, I attended an ‘Iftar Party’ where the attendants were all talking about things that they couldn’t live without. These included wives (yeah!), children, friends, good food, game stations, and some software products etc. Scientifically, water, food and oxygen are perhaps the only three things that a human being cannot live without. But, socially speaking, habits die hard too. And when it becomes a habit to use a certain mode of existence, well you can pretty much metaphorically say that you cannot live without it too.

In any case, here is a list of software products and websites that at least I cannot live without. I know many of you will agree with this as well.

A. Software Products

FireFox (http://www.firefox.com) with Zotero (http://www.zotero.org) installed

It is but natural to list a web browser as the first item of the list when we have already established that world wide web is a necessity in our world today. FireFox is an addiction. With its intuitive features, open-source architecture, tabbed browsing and lots of plugins, it is a browser that I cannot live without. I even tried shifting to Chrome which is an amazing browser too. But the only drawback of Chrome is that it doesn’t allow developers to access its root architecture. Whereas FF not only allows it, but provides these developers with all sorts of facilities to modify and regenerate all kinds of codes inside the root kernel as well. It is this very quality of FF that makes it an exceptional web browser, a one of a kind.

Zotero is a free FF reference managing plugin which targets the researcher who surfs the web quite often to seek authentic sources. Do not let its free status fool you. Zotero is an advance tool that lets you gather and store references from various websites quickly. A shining example is amazon.com from where, with the help of one little click, you can add all references to the books available on a page directly to Zotero. You can, then, put all these references on the Zotero website (about which I will talk in detail in the next section) and access the data from anywhere around the world. I simply cannot live without Zotero. I do lots of research not only for my dissertation which I am currently writing, but for various other projects too; and am always in search for scholarly references. Zotero makes life a lot easier when it comes to scholarly research.

RoboForm Pro (http://www.roboform.com)

RoboForm is a software that lets you store all your passwords on your hard drive, encrypted and fully secured. When you browse a website and need to log into it, RoboForm retrieves that password from you and fills the login form automatically. I am a member of over 50 web communities and NO I do not have a master password as it is the easiest way to get hacked! I have my ways of remembering these passwords but sometimes it becomes absolutely tiresome to type in those on every other website that I visit. Consequently, RoboForm is something I cannot live without.

Some of you might argue against using a software like this, especially when all major browsers have the option of storing your passwords. Well, first of all, let me tell you that RoboForm is a Black Hat Hacker-Proof software which uses intense encryption algorithms. The only way to hack into it is to somehow get to know the access password which is near to impossible as RoboForm reduces the keylogging opportunities through its hacking-safe abilities. Secondly, never let any web browser save your passwords. Web browsers save passwords in an unsecure way without any encryptions and there are so many free tools available on the internet that can retrieve these passwords in less than a minute. Trust me, I’ve been there, done that.

EndNote X3 (http://www.endnote.com)

EndNote X3 is the flagship product of Thomson Reuters. It is the most advanced reference manager that I have yet come across. With Thomson Reuters on its back, it has become the industry standard for formatting bibliographies and inserting citations into any scholarly paper. A word about Thomson Reuters:

Thomson Reuters is the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals. We combine industry expertise with innovative technology to deliver critical information to leading decision makers in the financial, legal, tax and accounting, scientific, healthcare and media markets, powered by the world’s most trusted news organization. With headquarters in New York and major operations in London and Eagan, Minnesota, Thomson Reuters employs more than 50,000 people in 93 countries. For more information, go to thomsonreuters.com.

The Healthcare & Science business of Thomson Reuters provides critical information and decision support tools for improving the cost and quality of healthcare, and accelerating research, scientific discovery and innovation. Our authoritative, accurate and timely information is essential for drug companies to discover new drugs and get them to market faster; researchers to find relevant papers and know what’s newly published in their subject; and businesses to optimize their intellectual property and find competitive intelligence. We create the research platforms and services of the future that will power our customers toward business and personal success.

With its excellent updated support for MLA 2009, EndNote is an application that I simply cannot live without. It has saved me countless hours of my struggle with various citation formats and continues to inspire researchers who are looking for not only a tool for citation management, but for secure archival as well. Anyone who has experienced the hectic job of writing a research paper or a dissertation will certainly agree with me!

Microsoft Office 2007 (http://www.microsoft.com)

Who can disagree on this? Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft OneNote 2007 are the two products that I use a lot every day, all day. Open Office is a good new alternative, but requires a major shift from one platform to another. Plus Java is not the fastest of languages. I have nothing else to say in this regard.

Kaspersky Anti Virus (http://www.kaspersky.com)

Kaspersky is the world leading AV software and I am fully satisfied with its capabilities. I use it on my windows vista x64 and it works like a charm. It is a bit expensive but is surely worth it. I might talk about it in detail in one of my articles on hacking, but here it suffices to say that I cannot live without an antivirus software installed on the OS and what better way to protect against malware and viruses than Kaspersky!

B. Websites

Google (http://www.google.com)

The leading search engine of the world has come a long way in recent years and has turned itself into a huge conglomerate which aims at providing top notch services free of cost. Whether it is your calendar you want to share on the web, or a new book that you want to search about, Google has everything ready for you. With leading products like Chrome, Youtube, Google Apps and what not, I personally think that Google is singlehandedly responsible for an internet revolution that many thought was essential. I simply cannot live without it!

Zotero (http://www.zotero.org)

The Zotero website allows Zotero’s users to sync their libraries to the online account. You can create multiple libraries and can sync all your research from your HDD to Zotero servers. You can even create groups on a topic and let multiple users share their research and update the archives. It is one amazing way of staying up to date in the field of research and scholarly publishing. I can write pages about Zotero website, but I know those will bore you. I just hope that Zotero updates its engine to reflect the changes in the new MLA 2009 update. I cannot live without it!

Youtube (http://www.youtube.com)

Another of Google’s services, Youtube has become the hub of vlogging (video blogging) and is the most popular way today of sharing all sorts of videos with others. It is an addiction if you ask me. Its latest GUI upgrade enhances the experience even further. One little lag is that of time limit, but is also essential to keep the flow going and not letting the viewers get bored. I simply cannot live without it.

Delicious (http://www.delicious.com)

Delicious is a social bookmarking service that lets you sync your browser bookmarks to your online account. Not only can you live with the peace of mind that your bookmarks are safe and accessible from anywhere in the world, but you can share these with likeminded people too. For me Delicious is a service that took half of my burden away. I surf the web a lot and I have a lot of bookmarks which I keep updating on a regular basis. The problem was that I used to surf internet from various places (like office, home, a friend’s place etc) and used to email myself the links to the websites that I thought were able to make it to my bookmarks’ list. That was hectic I tell you. Delicious made all that easy for me. I can simply sign into my account at Delicious and upload a bookmark there knowing that next time I will sign into my FF at home, it will auto-sync to Delicious and update all the bookmarks. How can I live without a service like this?

Questia (http://www.questia.com)

Questia is an online library, and a good one at that. Sure it is a paid service, but even if you are not a member, you can still utilize its searching capabilities to find a book on, say, latest post-structuralist trends in Freudian Psychoanalysis (Anyone got an idea what these might be? Let’s ask Mr. Zizek!).

I was first introduced to Questia some six years ago and I have since been a member of the library. Questial is a resource that you cannot do without. If you are a grad student, make sure you check their website out and get a membership. It will save you hours of manual research. I just can’t live without it!

When you decide to become an Internet Marketeer you can have the world at your feet.
BUT before you can actually start “working” there are quite a few obstructions you have to get out of the way.

One is the simple question about how to remember all the different usernames and passwords you have to create on each program you enter into, not to mention all the forms you have to fill out.
At this moment I have 149 different passwords/usernames I use and with out this program it would have been a massive task just keeping track of those. Also I keep adding new ones every week.

Then I found this program called ROBOFORM.

It is nothing less than amazing. It has saved me many hours of punching in my details at the signup pages.

With just one press of a button I can fill out any form I meet ,another button will create a brand new and different password every time.

So the bottom line is CHEECK IT OUT AND SEE FOR yourself.

When you are at the shoppingcart uncheck Roboform CD(unless you really want it) and then check Roboform2Go Licence ( really usefull – take your passwords anywhere with USB stick) – update cart and you are ready to make the purchase.

Desktop computer

Laptop computer

Email

Blog

Online news and blog reader

Online newspaper subscription

Back issue archive for trade magazine I write for

Google, for Google Groups and Blogger

Online writers’ group no. 1

Online writers’ group no. 2

Online bookmark service

Technorati, Digg, StumpleUpon

Bank No. 1 PIN number

Bank No. 1 online bill pay

Bank No. 2 PIN number

Quicken

Investment company for SEP-IRA

Online bookstore

Online grocery service

Online grocery e-script fundraising program

Online movie ticket service

Online travel service

Anti-virus software website

Multiple airlines

Doctor’s office online medical records account

Cell phone PIN number

High school website, for accessing son’s grades

Online grade school lunch order service

No wonder I can’t remember the combination to my locker at the gym.

What does this have to do with writing? Directly, nothing. Indirectly, a lot. The more time you spend on work-related administrative tasks like logging into research archives, blogs, bookmark services, etc., the less time there is to do any actual work.

If you’re a blogger, or you use social networks like Twitter or Facebook to crowdsource, promote your work or connect with editors, think of the havoc a hacker could wreck on your files and your reputation by breaking into one of them and sending out tweets in your name, spamming your connections with a virus or corrupting your old blog posts.

If you work on a laptop, think of what could happen if it was lost or stolen.

So, ya, passwords are important.

How do you remember yours? Some I keep in my head. Some I keep in my contact manager, which isn’t the safest thing to do but it’s the lazy woman’s way.

Do you change passwords? If you’re like me, probably not often. Some I’ve had for years. Some I’ve changed once or twice. Some I change a lot – my Twitter password, for example, especially in light of what seems like a growing number of phishing attacks there.

I use Quicken’s password vault feature so I can log onto multiple investment accounts at once for updates without having to type in the individual PIN number for each – that’s handy.

But other than that, I’m due for a major password overhaul. So I’ve been reading up on password managers. Here’s a few worth apps considering:

KeePass – In a poll last year, readers of Lifehacker, the tech-savvy guide to getting stuff done, picked this open-source password manager as their favorite. Others mentioned: RoboForm for Windows, and 1Password for Mac.

Passpack – WebWorkerDaily gave this a thumbs up for storing multiple passwords in one location, automatically logging you into websites and some extra security features.

For Apple computers – The Apple Blog recently shared this list of five password managers for Apple hardware, including 1Password.

Picking passwords – Don’t use your dog, your address or your maiden name. Here’s other tips from YourSecurityResource.com, an Internet security site I write for on a regular basis (though not this story).

Hi there,i run an online business and love the internet for many different purposes:watching a good

Hi there,i run an online business
and love the internet for many different purposes:watching a good film for free, website creation and much more.I also enjoy sharing knowledge with people because it can only make life more fun for them.

Google:

Yes you might laugh at its simplicity, yet there is so much more to google than you think!Aswell as being the worlds best search engine,it’s also the best place to have your email,Google has just bought YouTube which ofcourse is a great video upload site.Google is also the founder of Adwords, which is the most popular form of PPC (pay per click )advertising. If you are not familiar with this;- it’s those little box adverts which you see on nearly every google search page.Generally some companies and solo affiliate marketers pay Google for the advertising space, and then hopefully they make some money through affiliate sales. It costs only 5 dollars to set up your Adwords account, you then chose your keywords and advertise virtually anywhere in the world.More on this later.Google also hosts Google Earth a satellite function which allows you to zoom in on buildings, perhaps even your own home!Google also translates pages for you, offers a scholarly info and a lot lot more.

Video Upload Sites:-

There are so many!Allyou have to do these days is ‘Google’ the term ‘list of video upload sites’, here’s a list of just a few, remember this list will always grow with time.

YouTube/YahooVideo/Myspace/MSN video/Metacafe/Revver/AOL/Break/Dailymotion/Blip/Veoh/Crackle/Imeem/Stupidvideos/Sclipo/Viddler/Howcast/5min/Vimeo/Kewego/Myvideotalk.

There’s a handy site called Tubemogul and another called TrafficGeyser; which both allow you to upload one video and that one video is then uploaded automatically to multiple sites,so you only have to upload once.Bare in mind you may have to register with some of the other sites listed first.Remember most video sites have their own file size and upload requirements, including lenght and format,if you are not sure of this you can usually find the answer in the help section usually at the top of the browser.

Online free film sites:-

Im a big lover of films and documentaries(I used to make documentaries). There’s an awesome site called www.watch-movies-links.net.It’s the best site out there for watching free online films.Click on any film you want to watchand try to choose a file with the highest percentage. The percentage rate refers to the quality of the film not popularity.Bare in mind some of the japanese and chinese files can be slow to load.Megavideo is usually the best link provider:though it only gives you an allowance of 72 mins per viewing, which can be very annoying as it’s often before the end of a film.Allyou do in this case is keep closing and opening the same file and it should bring the wait time down to about 20 mins.Ther’s lots of different genres.THere are other sites but this one beats the others easily.

File Sharing Sites:-

There are such sites as Piratebay.org,however,i am not encouraging people to use these sites as laws on them are on fickle ground at the moment. It is the best file sharing site in the world that is all i will say!!

There’s a lovely site called Vuse(formerly Azeurus)where you can download films, music etc.It has a really nice clean look to the site.Just be aware that if you do chose to download files, some may be trial versions only, some may be in a foreign language, and ofcourse some may contain bugs, worms,or trojan viruses. These are file sharing systems known as peer to peer (or P2P),essentially you have one or more people with files on a film for example and they send fragments of that film to the person seeking it on another computer and that person is then able to build up the film file slowly and hopefully end up with the entire film. There’s a site called Graboid which one of those sites which gives you something but is also trying to get something out of you to subscribe. However it does allow you to download two films per month for absolutely free, and the quality is awesome.I downloaded a film off it once and the quality was dvd quality,i was impressed.

Website building Companies/Sites:-

You can go out and buy programs such as Dreamweaver which will cost you money, but they will also demand that you need a thorough understanding of how to use them which takes time.So the following information is about free website building tools.I would recommend you take a look at KompoZer(formerly NVU) Frontpage/Blinkweb/Synthasite/90-second website builder.

Web Hosting services:-

I also use Namecheap.com to host some of my other sites and it only cost me 10 dollars a year per site to host these accounts which is very good.I believe GoDaddy is cheap aswell. There are lots of other hosting companies you can just google for a list-however always check contract terms:-i.e.if there’s a charge for transferring a domain to another site (your website for example) or if you might have to pay to finish a contract early.

Forms of Marketing-PPC:-

PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click and can be a very effective form of marketing if you know what you are doing.Warning! if you do not have experience of PPC there’s a large learning curve. At the same time i am not discouraging anyone. There are some legends out there in the ppc world or affiliate marketing world such as Chris Carpenter, a very bright Californian man who wrote the Google Cash program/book.I own the latest edition of this book, which i bought on the internet:-it’s a very wise book which explains how to try to become a master at google adwords/yahoo advertising and content advertising.

I am also a member of PPC Classroom, which i pay about 60 dollars for each month, this is a very new online ppc training classroom:it’s the best out there:particularly if you are learning from scratch how to run google adwords campaigns.

Also you should check out Perry Marshall,Brad Callen,The Super Affiliate Handbook, and GoogleShadow (an Englisg guy who essentially has teamed up with Chris Carpenter to create an amazing program to beat others at adwords. If you look at Perry Marshall+Brad Callens site you will probably be able to get some free PDF file downloads on SEO(search engine optimization) and fast tips for adwords.I know i did!I have an artillery of free pdf downloads which i got from Perry Marshall and the rest!Often to do this you need to put your email and name in the box on their page and they then send you emails with links to downloads. It is worth setting up another email for them however as you are most likely to be bombarded with emails!

PLEASE remember! If you get involved in ppc marketing do not blow too much money! Google adwords does allow you to monitor and set limits to an advertising budget on a campaign:-infact the people who are best at ppc are rewarded by paying less for their advertising because they are getting a higher quality score with google. It is possible to get good at adwords but it is a different world altogether in its own respect.Adwords adverts (campaigns) require careful planning, combination of the right keywords, and a lot more to be successful, including spy tools, wordtracker and more.

Blogging:-

Blogging is a bit like having a simplified one page website only it’s amongst other blogs within a kind of forum/blogging site.

You have Hubpages/Squidoo/WritingUp/BloggerParty/BlogFeast/BlogEvolve.There are actually hundreds and hundreds of blogging sites now so what i would recommend is just type in ‘directory of great blog sites’ into google search and you will certainly find a list of blog sites!Hubpages and Squidoo are certainly two of the most recognised and they integrate well within the google search engine.

Social Networking Sites:-

Facebook/Myspace/twitter/Orkut/43 Things/Book Crossing/Couch surfing/del.icio.us/deviantart/Digg/Dopplr/Flickr/Furl/Lastfm/Librarything/Linkdin/Livejournal/Ma.Gnolia/Metachat/MonkeyFilter/MyGamercard/Pandorradio/paperbackswap/picasa/reddit.co./runner+/slashdot/Sportsfilter/steam/stumbleupon/tribe/videosift/vox/we.endure.wikipedia.

That’s just a few!Again these days you can just ‘googl’anything so if you are looking for more just ask google! Also remember some of these sites allow you to add videos, photos,or music to them, some of which can be incorporated with Youtube videos. Some of these sites such as Facebook also offer advertising (though it’s not free for a placement ad).

Article writing/Article sites:-

Article sites allow you to place a written article on virtually any subject within an article site.It could be a very serious political article or something trivial depending on the subject matter and author. The most widely recognised article sites are Ezine Articles/ArtilesBase/and Buzzle. However again there are hundreds of siteswhich you can find by doing a google search. There are also article distribution services such as SubmitYourArticle and uniquearticlewizard. These sites will often allow you to send the same article to many other sites. However there may be a charge for these services.

One of the greatest things about these sites ofcourse is they allow you to place a link to your website or landong page so you can get free traffic to your site. This ofcourse is one of the best ways to get free traffic.

Skype:-

I love Skype! Skype is a free download to pc or macintosh computers. You just need to buy a headset(headphones with a mouthpiece microphone attached),plug it into the headphone socket of your computer. Then if another person also has Skype you can talk to them like a telephone service for NOTHING on your computers via the internet.(so you must be connected to the internet for a call obviously).

However if someone does not have skype on the recieving end you will have ot buy credits up front to pay for the call, yet it is still cheaper than most calls to a landline within that country.

Additionally Skype offers video calls -so if you have a webcamera hooked up to your computer you can film yourself whilst talking and even take stills of the call!It does not matter if the recieving person does not have a webcamera linked up too,you are still able to show your face as the caller!

Roboform:-

You can download for free a program called Roboform and this basically is an automatic system which keeps all your log-in and passwords in a memory vault so you will not neccessarily have to type them in every time you log into an account.

Zip/Rar Files:-

These are really useful systems which compress information to make it smaller and thus save space ultimately on your computer hard drive. There are many different types;WinZip/7Zip and many more. With many of these you can get a free trial (usually 30 days or more) before they ask you to buy the product.I personally use RAR which is a German produced file system and am very happy with it.One key factor is that whichever file compressor you use you nedd to use one which will be compatible with a few other different file formats. Some companies offer more compatibility than others.I paid about 30 dollars for my RAR file system and it works great with many different files types for me on a windows Vista. For example it allows me to compress 200 e-books which i now have on a cd-rom thanks to the compression possibility.

Some basics:-

Try to make sure you have some basic programs installed on your computer such as ADobe Acrobat Reader which allows you to open and read PDF downloaded documents off the internet. For example most free e-book downloads/reports come as a pdf file for instant download so you should have this already. If you don’t you can just go to the Adobe homepage and you should be able to download it for free.As for many programs a company will often offer a trial version of a program for free.

More expensive programs such as Dreamweaver (advanced webdesign) will not be free though.I know a lot of people willl know this already however i am trying to keep the complete newbies in mind.

As for computer security/anti-virus software I would recommend Kaspersky.I used to use Norton for a while until i heard from a serious computer tecchie friend of mine that it’s not the best.McAfee is good aswell.Just remember some computer stores may offer you free computer anti-virus software when you buy a pc from them, yet it will not neccessarily be the best, and do not neccessarily believe verything you are told in a shop!Sometimes staff may be a little naive themselves and/or just chasing a commission by selling something to you.It is good to test everything! Always ask questions, and as many as you like!

You can get free anti-virus software instantly downloaded from the net such as AVG:however as i said i would personally recommend Kaspersky: and don’t forget if you are going to be plugged into the internet you must have a reliable anti-virus/firewall protection set up on your computer otherwise you are asking for trouble after a while.

Did you know that some sites have tracking cookies? A tracking cookie is when a company’s site plants a small piece of text in your web browser. Some tracking cookies can have a life of 3 or 4 months, some longer. They allow a companyies website to track and analyze user data, i.e.how often someone might visit their site, and what they might buy.Cookies are neither maliscious or spyware, but they may slow down or affect a users web browser.

So when you have a program like Kaspersky,Norton 360 etc, do try to learn a little about what you can use,how to use it and the difference between switching some functions on and off.Another reason why i mention this is because sometimes you may not be able to visit/open a site webpage if certain security program settings are switched on.

I would also definately recommend running atleast the quick scan function on your computer at the end or beginning of each day.Last week Sky News reported a bug on Twitter (the social networking site) and in other words this could have affected the computers of thousands of people. These are reasons for looking after your pc or mac.

Video Programs:-

At some stage if you decide to become a member of myinternetbusiness.com you may want to produce your own videos for YouTube for example.I am an experienced Final Cut Pro Video editor(as this used to be my profession).Years ago i used to hate computers, though it was only through video editing that i learnt to appreciate how useful they are.

The good news is you do not have to be clever,or experienced to make a semi-decent video for YouTube, yahoo.revver,or wherever you decide to publish to.All you need is either a good quality web-camera,a digital camcorder,or even a digital stills camera with an mpeg video capture card in it.Ofcourse if you use a webcamera you will need to be near your computer as the cables usually aren’t very long.If you have a camcorder you can ofcourse record video outdoors and return to your computer for editing later. If you are using a mini-dv camcorder you will need either a firewire cable or an av cable.

I would use a firewire cable if appropriate to the equipment though because the quaility will be so much better.Remember pc and macintosh AND the cameras can have different connections and cable types. You may also need a video card in your computer if there’s not one already.

If you have a macintosh computer, most come with the basic imovie( high definition) software, which actually is very very good for what it is.On a pc with windows you should get a very basic video editing program called windows movie maker.I don’t use it but i do know that it can provide the basics of assemble editing. If you wish to become really good at video editing i recommend avid, finalcutpro,or adobe premiere.

However it will,if you are new to serious video editing, take you a while to get good at these programs if you are starting from scratch. As i said the imovie program on the mac is perfect for beginners. There are numerous other cheap video editing software tools out there if you don’t want to spend that much money. You have adobe premiere elements/corel video studio pro x2/roxio creator 2009/ uleadvideostudio 11 plus. These are some of the cheapest which you may find in a store.

There are also great dvd making programs by Roxio,Nero,Sonic, and idvd for mac.If you want to get more serious with dvd creatiion on a macintosh there’s dvd studio pro. Also remember that there are lots of great videos on YouTube which you can watch and learn how to use various programs.

Publishing a video to YouTube:-

When you feel happy wiath an edited video and want to upload it to say Youtube for example:first you will need to open up a free account with Youtube. You can only upload videos which are no longer than 10 mins and 1gigabyte in size. There are also recommended resloution sizes which are 640X480 and a frame rate generally of 30 frames per second to get the best results.

If you are new to all of this do not be freaked out! All you have to do is click on the help section in your web browser help page to find the exact results you are looking for to upload your video correctly. Most public video upload sites such as youtube are just recently cracking down on copyrighted music. It is not likely that you will be sued! However they may well remove your video abruptly if you use music which is obviously not your own!

Remember nearly every video site only allows a limit of ten minutes for a video and a lot of these sites have different file size requirements -so check these files first before exporting a file from a video program for the net!

When you are filling in a description of your video don’t forget to add tags to it and tags which are relevant. This will help others to find your video more easily.

Jing:-

Jing is madly clever! You can download jing for free,it then places a bubble at the top or bottom of your computer screen (they call it a sun).If you move your mouse cursor onto the sun,3 rays snap out of it,each one with a different function:capture, history and more. Now if you click on capture a large cross hair appears on your desktop which you can then move around on your desktop screen.Jing is designed to allow you to capture video or an image form your desktop! The image will be exactly the same as it appears on your desktop except you can crop the image also.It is very very cool and clever.I believe Camstasia is the superseeded version of this product.I know a lot of webinars, and the best leaders in the internet marketing world use this to produce direct training videos off their pc screen to an audience.Such a simple yet brilliant idea.It also allows you after a capture to send your video or picture to someone else via email, the web or save to your hard drive.

We have written volumes about password management here at WWD. The nature of our work, mobility and reliance on data in the cloud certainly makes it an important issue. I have long been a fan of the RoboForm Password Manager. Its ability to securely generate and remember the hundreds of passwords I maintain has been indispensable to me.

Up until recently, though, one of the challenges with using RoboForm has been easily keeping my passwords in sync on multiple machines. I resolved that issue by using the brilliant DropBox service to store my profiles, which is working just flawlessly for me. I noticed today, however, that the fine folks at Siber are currently beta testing a new service called RoboForm Online.

RoboForm Online utilizes Siber’s GoodSync software to facilitate the backup and synchronization of your password and profile data through their servers. Data is transferred securely between locations, and the encryption of your profile files is maintained. Setting a master password to access any RoboForm data is good practice, even if just used on a local machine.

The benefits are obvious: You can access your passwords in multiple locations as well as maintaining a backup of what is critical data.

Before I discovered and implemented my DropBox sync solution, I would have jumped all over this service. They are a little late to the party, though. Other services like Xmarks (formerly Xmarks) have already gained good traction as options in this space.

For me, now that I already have a workable solution, I don’t see much benefit to moving. But if you’re a current RoboForm Pro user getting started with multiple machines, this is a good option.

I’ve looked at other password management options and I’ve yet to find one that works as well for me as RoboForm. Honestly, the fact that it doesn’t support Chrome (s goog) or Opera is the main reason I still use Firefox as my preferred browser. It really is the program I can’t live without.

RoboForm Online is currently in a free beta for licensed users of RoboForm Pro. You’ll need your Order ID to register.

Learn more or sign up for RoboForm Online.

How do you manage and maintain your passwords?

I’ve tied my Twitter account and this blog together, and I’m still trying to figure

I’ve tied my Twitter account and this blog together, and I’m still trying to figure out how this will work. Sometimes the learning curve on these things turns into a learning curlicue, doesn’t it?

Yesterday, my sidebar here still said “no response from Twitter.” So I did some investigating, and I found that one of my Twitter settings was in conflict with being able to send my “tweets” to WordPress blogs (like this one.) So, I changed the setting on Twitter, deleted the first “tweet” there, posted a second 140 character update to Twitter to answer that burning question, “What are you doing?,” and Twitter replied that there were too many “tweets,” their network was overloaded and I should try again later.

Lovely … .

I gave Twitter a minute, tried again, and my “tweet” went out, according to Twitter. I jumped to check my sidebar here, and I saw that the “tweet” had made its way to my blog!

Lovely!

Today I posted a “tweet” the exact same way, with the exact same settings, and I don’t see it on my blog.

Love-ly.

Taiwan-style beef noodle soup

So, I don’t know why it’s not showing up on my blog today, but I have run out of time to deal with it right now. It’s my last day at home this week according to my schedule of long weekends on semi-furlough (four days off/three days on), and I’ve got some things to get done before my “work week” starts tomorrow. Plus, I’m meeting some friends for Taiwan style Chinese food at 5:00 or so, which means I have to shower and pretty-up. All of that cuts down on time I can spend messing with Twitter & the blog today. Also, I know a lot of visitors are ‘visual’ types and hate to see a screen full of type, but it takes time to find good graphics. Sorry, but you’ll have to make do today with these few.

A good take-away for anyone who is baffled, generally, by some of the technology (like Twitter, blogging, etc.), but would like to try it is that you don’t really have to know a lot about what you’re doing to jump into the techno-pool. Most of the time, I don’t know what I’m doing when I start, and I learn as I go.

The general guidelines I use are:

(1) make sure you’re on the Web site of an authentic and trusted service provider, meaning check it out;

(2) keep notes, if you need to do that to remember what you’ve done that worked, or didn’t work, as you’re setting up your new account, learning to use it, etc.;

Kensington 2GB thumb drive

(3) get yourself set up for free on RoboForm, or RoboForm2Go + thumb drive, so you keep your usernames and account passwords safe (otherwise you have to write them down and carry them with you, which is not smart, and once you set up more than a dozen accounts, who wants to have to refer to a piece of paper to find usernames & passwords?!?);

(4) if you run into something you’re not understanding, refer to the FAQs and Help files before you fire off a question via the online Help e-mail, or post it to a Forum, because your questions are not unique, others having blazed the trail before you surely had the same questions when setting up their own accounts, and you will learn more about your account and its functions by diving into the FAQs & Help files, and so you will end up using it more effectively;

(5) if you do post to a Forum, or make a comment on a blog, etc., remember that you are likely posting to a “listserve,” and that your comments will be going out to everyone else who reads the Forum or blog, so no matter how frustrated you are by the time you ask for help, don’t rant about the stupid instructions online, don’t impune the character of those behind the scenes, etc., because it’s poor netiquette. Try to behave as if your parents, grandparents and God are watching you. Others will pounce on you in return if you don’t behave that way, you won’t like it, and you will get help a lot more quickly if you are nice.

Editor’s note: If you see my tweet from today, please post a comment. That will help me figure out if the problem is only with my set-up and connection, here, on my laptop, or if it’s a system-wide thing. Thanks!

My USB hub, my thumb drive, and RoboForm2Go. GE USB 2.0 Slim Hub 4-port I have a GE USB 2.0 Slim Hub

My USB hub, my thumb drive, and RoboForm2Go.

GE USB 2.0 Slim Hub 4-port

I have a GE USB 2.0 Slim Hub 4-port, and it plugs into the USB port on my laptop (at home) or my desktop PC (at work). It accommodates four thumb drives, which I use to save work and photos (the different sizes are color coded, and I have a system based on the colors for what goes on what). Most importantly, though, I save all my passwords on the thumb drives in a program called RoboForm2Go.

Kensington 2GB Thumb Drive

RoboForm2Go is a fully portable program that encrypts your username and password info for all your accounts. I have so many accounts at this point, that I couldn’t possibly remember them all, and I don’t use the same name and password for everything.

My life used to be easier, in terms of usernames and passwords: I used the same ones for everything. Not only that, it was something really dumb (i.e., easy to hack) like my cat’s name. Then someone hacked my Yahoo! account and from there was able to get into my e-Bay account, with the same password, of course, and this trickster bid on lots of jewelry, as I discovered when I started getting notices that “my bid” was successful. This person was using my e-Bay account, which is associated with my credit cards. OY! I spent the next three days getting everything straightened out and changing passwords on all my accounts, and I learned that lesson the hard way. My usernames and passwords now are much “stronger” and more secure, and different for each account. To keep track of everything, I downloaded RoboForm2Go.

So, I’m telling you this because RoboForm2Go is a good thing to have, especially if you’re setting up lots of accounts to use social networking and other online services for a job search. RoboForm2Go has a free version that you can begin with, to get the feel for it, start setting up some login info, and then when you hit the limit of accounts for the free version, I’m sure you’ll want to upgrade to the full version.

RobForm Logo

I downloaded the free program to my “F” drive (thumb drive) and started building info onto it as I worked. Now I carry my usernames and passwords with me (the RoboForm program also password protects the thumb drive), I plug in my thumb drive wherever I’m working, it loads RoboForm2Go on the computer, I do some work, and then when I close down all my programs and unplug the thumb drive, RoboForm2Go tells me it’s doing a “final clean up” and removes all the info on my accounts from that computer. I feel like a Cold War spy when I see that message on my screen. It’s very cool.

I back up everything on the thumb drive into an encrypted file on my hard drive, so if my thumb drive ever misfires, I can do a “restore” onto a new thumb drive. Is there anything those RoboForm people didn’t think of?

Another really nice feature of RoboForm is that you can fill in fields in the program and then use those fields to automatically fill out online forms. I get so tired of typing in my shipping info, billing info, etc. This automates all that, and again, it’s all password protected and fully encrypted.

Here’s the > LINK < to RoboForm’s Website. Go for it.
