Kisame's gonna kill you and make you into a Snuggie...

You have GOT to be kidding me! Are you telling me Masashi Kishimoto took an entire week off from the manga just to return with THIS!? First of all he completely forgoes the much-anticipated Kisame vs Killerbee fight (opting instead for a paltry, unsatisfying teaser on the first page wherein Kisame raises his sword to a BEAR!). Immediately following that disappointment is a quick check in with everyone’s favourite runaway Hokage, Danzou. Zetsu corpses abound as the Konoha cowards think of the best manner in which to deal with their Mist nin pursuer (who, incidentally, seems to get his hair cut at the same place Kisame does). Our valiant Kirigakure warrior, while hot on their trail, falls victim to one of Danzou’s escort’s traps in a matter of seconds however and is easily neutralized.

Is it just me, or does Torune remind you of Bato from GitS? O_O

At this point I simply had to ask myself just WHAT THE HELL did he have the Byakugan for anyway!? Don’t worry about all the Main and Branch family Curse Seal stuff Hyuga clan, apparently people are just far too STUPID to use your eyes properly anyway! >:-O. So now that that loose plot thread has been tied up, the manga then cuts abruptly to the Hokage conference where they spend a couple of pages trying to decide on a leader for the ‘New World shinobi Alliance’, ultimately settling on the Zetsu-choking, Hole-in-wall punching, Super Saiyan transforming, wrestling move doing, Sasuke-owning  Raikage because he’s the only man badass enough to lead a clip that rolls that deep. Of course who really wants to say ‘no’ to a man willing to cut off his own arm just to win a fight? I don’t want to get a Raiger Bomb, do you!? THEN ELECT THAT MOTHERF*CKA!!! Fitting indeed that a black man should lead the ‘NW(s)A’ desho?

Ten pages in-though really nine and a half but hey who’s counting….BESIDES EVERY FLICKING FAN WONDERING JUST WHAT THE HELL IS SUPPOSED TO FILL UP THE REMAINING PAGES!!-and we get right to the meat and potatoes of this week’s manga. This is what Kishimoto’s extra 7-day hiatus was all about. This is what he needed time off to get brewing in that magical little plot pot of his. This is what the fans waited an entire agonizing manga-less week to see!!!!………

That’s right, though the title of this week’s update should have totally given it away (to be quite honest I didn’t read it, so you can imagine my surprise), Sakura organized an entire team of Konoha shinobi to enter into the harsh territory of the land of Iron to tell Naruto that she  “loves (him)” -_-…….

Seriously!!?? You know, when she first mentioned having to talk to Naruto about two weeks back I was kind of expecting the exact opposite. I was hoping for a tearful Sakura telling Naruto how terrible she was for making suffer so much pain and emotional torment for an unrequited love. How selfish she was to make him promise to retrieve the object of her affections, his rival, for her because she herself was too weak. I thought she would fall to her knees and beg forgiveness for the senseless act of placing the burden of protecting the friendship of team 7 squarely on his shoulders. Heck, I was expecting her to just plain get a boot to the head for no apparent reason; that would have been fine with me. But no, she comes with this bogus “confession” straight out of the blue in a feeble attempt to get Naruto off of his path to destruction. Now, I will say that I understand her reasons for doing what she did, surely her heart was in the right place but she failed to understand that asking Naruto to “just forget about that promise (they) made” is tantamount to asking him to deny his very beliefs! His credo! His Ninja Way! There is no way an obvious lie like that is going to deter Naruto from his Nindo, added to the fact that he genuinely cared about Sasuke’s well being  even before the issue of bringing him back for Sakura’s sake even became an issue. From the minute I saw those words I realized two things about the current state of the Naruto manga: 1) Sakura obviously has a very clear understanding of the gravity of the current situation and is willing to do what she can to mitigate it by ANY means necessary. 2) Confessions of love in this series hold absolutely no weight whatsoever! That’s the only way Hinata’s long overdue revealing of her feelings can be quelled, suppressed and ignored with such swiftness that one wonders if it ever even happened in the first place! That’s also the only way Kishimoto can get away with using such an important storytelling trope as a decoy; a means of subterfuge! Just another weapon in the ninja arsenal it seems -_-…

Serious Naruto is serious!

Whoo! I almost swooned there for a minute. Is this really the same guy who invented Sexy no Jutsu?

Whether or not Sakura was sincerely lying to herself about her inexplicable feelings for Sasuke or she was just telling a bold faced lie, nobody was having it (heck even Yamato knew something was fishy about it and he’s only been a part of the team since the Time Skip!). I mean, Naruto isn’t the sharpest kunai in the pouch, but even HE can’t be expected to swallow that much tripe. I love the fact that from the very first moment you see his face in the manga his expression transforms subtly from one of mild shock and disbelief to one of calm, yet focused seriousness and stoic understanding. He knows what’s going on; with himself, with Sakura, with the very state of their entire convoluted relationship. He knows, and he’s ready to deal with whatever comes…

P.S. THIS IS WHAT I EXPECT TO HAPPEN WHEN NARUTO GETS BACK TO KONOHA KISHIMOTO!!! PAY CLOSE ATTENTION!!!

It’s finally time for the Kisame VS. 8-tails. Who will win? And will Sakura finally talk to Naruto?

Naruto's Welcome Committee

Kakashi catches an exhausted Naruto and carries him back to the village with everyone welcoming Naruto. Kakashi tells him that everyone’s been waiting for his return.  Naruto was definitely surprised. Kakashi remembered Naruto saying that his dream is to be greater than a Hokage and his existence be acknowledged.  Katsuyu told him that he told everyone what happened.

Naruto was then engulfed with cheers of welcome and his friends rushing to his side.  Naruto is then greeted by Sakura who punches him being rash then embraces him and thanks him later.  Hinata, Team Gai, Team Kurenai and Team Asuma, Kakashi and Iruka watched him with pride.

Meanwhile, Zetsu, perched on a nearby tree overlooking Konoha, watched as Naruto was greeted by everyone and decides to report back to Tobi about Pain’s defeat.

In the middle of celebration, an ANBU appears behind Shikaku and tells him that there is an emergency meeting and he’s being asked to report to the council meeting immediately.

Back in Akatsuki’s Headquarters, Tobi reports that Pain is defeated and Konan is not coming back.  Tobi said they will need another pawn to sync with Gedo Mazo.  He then instructs Kisame to find the eight tailed beast while he needs to attend to another matter.

The scene now shifts to the three shinobis sent by the Raikage to Konoha — Samui, Omi and Karui.  They’re a bunch of funny characters.  Anyway, they have reached Konoha and found it in total destruction.

On the other hand, Tsunade and lying unconscious.  Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura and Shizune are standing around her.  Since she used Katsuyu to protect the village, she has been unconscious since then and they’re not sure when she would wake up.

A council meeting is being held at the same time.  As they were talking about rebuilding Konoha and cooperating with other countries to fight Akatsuki, Danzo interrupts by saying that they should also consider who would be the next Hokage.  Shikaku immediately nominates Hatake Kakashi.  A lot seemed to agree but are considering his age and his teaching coming from the 3rd and the 4th Hokage as well as from Jiraiya.  Danzo comments then that the 3rd Hokage’s teachings have as good as destroyed the village.  He further added that Nagato who was once a student of Jiraiya destroyed their village as a result of symphatizing with other countries.  He said that that sort of thinking is weak thus leading to Sand’s betrayal, Orochimaru’s plan to destroy Konoha, formation of Akatsuki and Sasuke leaving the village for his own secret purposes.  He said that the Hokage that Konoha needs now is a man who can put an end to their wretched situation and bring change to the ninja world and reinforce laws that govern them.  He said that that person is him.  The head of the council immediately says it’s decided that Danzo will become the 6th Hokage.

Hmmm… it’s not a joyful village afterall…

I have been unable to watch the anime episodes lately but here are the summary from Wikipedia.  As soon as the filler arc is completed, I’ll try to have this updated if time permits.

NS 101 – Everyone’s Feelings

Guren is rendered unconscious and relives her past as Naruto is caught in an illusion about Sasuke. After Kakashi finds him, Teams Kakashi and Kurenai conclude the mist around them causes Genjutsu courtesy of the Three-Tails. After Guren wakes up, Yūkimaru suffers another fever and passes out. Tsunade hears of the Three-Tails and assembles Shizune, Ino, Tenten and Lee to go and seal it before the Akatsuki do. Naruto and Sakura talk about the home that people should return to before Naruto heads off to find Yūkimaru.

NS 102 – Regroup!

Naruto and his teammates meet Shizune, Ino, Tenten and Lee. The ninjas are spilt into three teams by Kakashi. The Sealing team is made up of Shizune, Sakura, Ino and Hinata. Kakashi, Naruto, Sai and Shino form the Fighting team and the Guarding team comprises of Yamato, Lee, Tenten and Kiba. Tenten passes Naruto a scroll for the mission that the Fifth Hokage gave to her. In a new development, Rinji turns out to be Kabuto’s spy on Guren.

NS 103  – The Four-Corner Sealing Barrier

The teams set off. Naruto introduces Sai and Shino to each other. The sealing team prepares a search and barrier jutsu to seal the Three-Tailed Beast. Kakashi’s fighting team is suddenly attacked by Gozu and Guren while the guarding team begins fighting as well. Lee, Tenten and Kiba finish off Rinji’s subordinates with ease. Meanwhile, Naruto angers Guren saying it’s his fault Yūkimaru went over to ‘her side’ and that he won’t allow her using him as a tool.

NS 104 – Breaking the Crystal Style

The Fighting team continues its battle. Tobi decides to go seek the Three-Tails on his own as he had angered Deidara earlier. He discovers the sealing team trying to seal the Three-Tails at the lake. Shino’s bugs defeat Guren, but Kakashi is stopped from killing her by Gozu, who dies protecting Guren. The guarding team stops Rinji from interfering with the sealing team just as Guren remembers she is the one who killed Yūkimaru’s mother. Kabuto uses this fact to manipulate Guren.

NS 105  - The Battle Over the Barrier

Guren heads back to the lake with Yūkimaru and Kabuto to stop the sealing. With Rinji’s help, she manages to disrupt the jutsu, and the beast begins attacking the ninja on the lake. As the beast tries to attack Guren, Yūkimaru uses his power to make it stop, and Orochimaru’s plan is revealed to have been to manipulate Yūkimaru to love Guren and willingly use his power for her. Tobi, noticing the beast, goes to bring Deidara to it.

NS 106 – Red Camellia

Yūkimaru falters and the Three-Tails attacks Guren. Yūkimaru uses his power to restrain the Three-Tails, but he runs out of chakra and is unable to do so. Guren leaves her position and protects Yūkimaru with a Crystal Style shield. Naruto goes out to find Yūkimaru, but ends up fighting the Three-Tails with Guren. Despite their efforts to defeat it, the beast overpowers the two of them, and then proceeds to swallow them. Meanwhile, Kakashi, Shino, and Sai find Yūkimaru unconscious and flee with him, leaving Kabuto frustrated.

NS 107 - Strange Bedfellows

Guren tries to attack Naruto within the Three-Tails, but passes out instead. Meanwhile, Sakura and Ino heal Yūkimaru while Kakashi, Shizune, Kiba, Sai, and Hinata search for Naruto. Naruto and Guren soon encounter a horde of mini Three-Tails that try to attack them, but they evade them and begin to argue about Yūkimaru. While Yūkimaru awakens, Naruto summons numerous Shadow Clones to look for a way out of the beast’s stomach. Elsewhere, Kabuto gives Curse Marks to Rinji’s men, ordering them to capture Yūkimaru.

NS 108 - Guidepost of the Camellia

Naruto and Guren help each other from the hungry mini Three-Tails as Rinji’s men attack Lee’s group. Yūkimaru and Kakashi devise a plan to track the Three-Tails with the boy’s power and get Naruto and Guren out. After Naruto and Guren escape from an illusion making fog, Naruto begins to realize Guren’s good intentions. Yūkimaru then plays the song his mother taught him right above where the Three-Tails is submerged and Kakashi makes a crack in the beast’s barrier; Naruto and Guren hear the tune and blast their way out.

NS 109 - Counterattack of the Curse Mark

The Sealing Team prepare to contain the Three-Tails again, and tell Sai to take Yūkimaru somewhere safe, but Sai is attacked and beaten up by Kabuto’s men, who retrieve Yūkimaru. Rinji finds his comrades but they decide not to work for him or Orochimaru anymore. They suddenly begin to suffer fatal side effects from their powers, and Rinji gives them the antidote after making them promise not to betray Orochimaru and to continue following his orders. The Sealing Team is attacked by Rinji’s men, but are defended by Kakashi, Yamato and Shino. Rinji makes Yūkimaru eat more pills to control the Three-Tails while Naruto and Guren notice the boy using his powers.

NS 110 – Memory of Guilt

The Sealing Team continues to seal the Three-Tails with Katsuyu’s help while Kakashi, Yamato and Shino defeat Rinji’s men and prepare to find Yūkimaru. Meanwhile, Naruto and Guren find Rinji with Yūkimaru, and Rinji reveals to him that Guren was the one who killed his mother. Yūkimaru forgives Guren, however Rinji tries to attack her but is stopped by Naruto. Rinji is then revealed to be Kabuto in disguise, who threatens to kill Naruto if he gets in his way.

NS 111 – Shattered Promise

Kabuto explains that he killed Rinji, and that Orochimaru wants the Three-Tails to prepare for the upcoming war. He summons Rinji’s corpse, which he uses to attack Guren and Yūkimaru. Guren manages to fight back by crystalizing herself along with Rinji. The huge crystal, with Guren and Rinji inside, drops into the lake. Yūkimaru then believes that Guren is dead and his grief causes him to overuse his power on the Three-Tails, breaking the Sealing Jutsu. Naruto uses his Collaboration Jutsu with Gamakichi and Gamatatsu to attack the Three-Tails, forcing it underwater and stopping its rage. Naruto goes to Yūkimaru who is lying near the lake unconscious and tells him they will go home together.

NS 112 – A Place to Return To

Gozu rescues Guren at the bottom of the lake and Yukimaru, who has lost his ability to control the Three-Tails, awakens to find his crystal charm glowing, and happily runs off into the night to find Guren and later that morning leaves with Guren and Gozu. Tsunade orders the teams to return to the village to regroup because of their wounds and because without Yukimaru’s abilities Orochimaru is no longer able to control the beast, and sends ANBU to keep watch of the lake. Tobi and Deidara return to the lake, and after Deidara kills the ANBU members, the two Akatsuki members lure out the Three Tails and easily capture it.

OK, this movie review is particular hard, and I suppose I should apologize. Naruto Shippuden isn’t a stand alone movie. It’s based off a long ongoing series that you must follow before diving into the movies. To make matters worse, this is the fourth movie in the franchise. So make sure you get yourself familiar with Naruto before you dive into this film. But, if you are a fan of the series you are in for a treat, as this one is my favorite movie out of the bunch.  Together with his selected team that consists of Sakura, Neji and Rock Lee, they have a mission to protect and escort the High Priestess of Demon Country, Shion. At the mean time, Kakashi and other Jounins are fighting to stop the advancement of the statue warriors brought back alive by Mouryou.

The opening scene of the movie shows a prediction of what should happen in the future of the movie. It shows Naruto battling a monster, only to be killed by it. A funeral is held for Naruto in his home village, to which Sakura Haruno, Rock Lee and Neji Hyuga are shown to attend, along with others. The setting then returns to a few days previous, where a man named Yomi attacks a shrine to retrieve the spirit of Moryo, a demon who attempted to take over the world and create his Thousand Year Kingdom. Since he is lacking a body, Yomi offers his as a temporary substitute until they can retrieve Moryo’s original one. Naruto now faces a challenge that he might die, which is a lot more to handle then when these characters were younger. An ancient demon has been released and will take over the world unless it’s sealed. The demon sends out his subordinates to kill the only person in the world who is capable of sealing the demon. But before this happens they all got a clue of the demons realease and motive and sent Naruto, Sakura, Rock Lee and Neji to protect the girl Shion so that she can seal the demon.

There is not much info for the 4 Jounins. After watching them in battle, I noticed that 4 of them, as individuals are very weak. They need the chakra supply to gain their power and to fight. Once they’re out of chakra, they will revert back to their normal human forms. There is 3 main battle in this movie. Rock Lee vs Setsuna – This is one of the best fight scenes in this movie. Rock Lee doesnt have any ninjutsu techniques to defeat Setsuna that has transformed into a solid rock monster forcing him to use the forbidden third, fourth and fifth gate techniques. Rock Lee managed to perform it perfectly but didnt leave any effect on Setsuna. Rock Lee went on to his final resort, a chocolate bon-bon pill gave to him by Gai Sensei. After consuming it, Rock Lee managed to destroy Setsuna with one of his kicks.

Also please take note that the best parts in Naruto movies always comes at the last 15-20 minutes in the end, so stay glued to your TV screen. As a Naruto fan myself, this movie is a great one although the bad guys this time are a bit soft and got easily defeated. Other than that, I enjoyed watching it very much. If you are a fan of the series its almost automatic essential viewing but if you are a casual fan of the show, this will also peak your interest.

Lançado no fim da semana passada o volume 24 de Naruto a saga de Sasuke está chegando ao ápice. Este é o último volume com as lutas secundárias. O volume 25 trará Naurto versus Sasuke finalmente. Voltando ao 24, temos o volume inteirinho dedicado aos reforços que chegam no momento exato para salvar a trupe de Konoha. As lutas de Ukon/Sakon e Tayuya chegam as suas devidas conclusões e Kimimaro se revela como um poderoso oponente. Rock Lee também neste volume a sua segunda melhor perfomance de todo o mangá [a 1ª é quando ele luta com Gaara]. Uma pena que Masashi Kishimoto não trabalhe tão bem com o Lee na fase Shippuuden que deve começar no mangá em agosto. Rock Lee, na minha opinião, é o melhor personagem de Naruto. O Volume 24 já está nas bancas, tem 196 páginas e custa R$ 9,90.

Pain is crushed by the Rasengan!!

That’s the opening statement and that says it all.  All I can say is, “Wow!  He destroyed six Pains all by himself.  Whew! ” That’s more than 10 chapters.  It began with Chapter 430 with Naruto’s return to Konoha.

Nagato told Konan that the last Pain was destroyed.  Meanwhile, Naruto took off all the chakra blades from Deva Pain since the real Pain uses it as a way to transmit chakra allowing Deva to move.  He figured he shouldn’t be able to move anymore once he removed it.

Then, it’s a series of flashbacks.  Naruto thinks back to his conversations with Deva Pain that they are not different from each other.  Rather, they’re quite the same, trying to work for their justice.  Naruto remembered Pain telling him that the justice he’s meted from Konoha is exactly the same justice he is trying to mete out from him.  He goes on to remember him saying everyone feels the pain of loss the same and that he can now understand that pain, but simply understanding does not mean they can come to an agreement.  Naruto forces a chakra blade into his hands remembering Jiraiya, Kakashi, Hinata and the rest of the villagers.  He then remembered Pain saying that revenge becomes a chain of hatred and that he has to accept the truth that people can never understand each other.  That the world of ninjas is ruled by hatred.

Katsuyu, after seeing Naruto forcing the chakra blade into him asked him if he was going and advised that he should take reinforcements.  But Naruto said no and said that he needs to go alone.

Meanwhile, Hinata is alive and well.  She thanked Sakura for healing her.  Sakura told her that she shouldn’t have done what she did.  The other Katsuyu, on the other hand,  informed them that Naruto has defeated the sixth Pain.  Everyone was surprised.  Lee is happy that Naruto has done it.  Sakura is concerned if Naruto was injured.  Katsuyu reported that he’s exhausted but fine.  Hinata cried with relief with the information. Gai asked where Naruto is now.  Katsuyu told them that Naruto is heading to where the real Pain is now.  Neji reacted that it was reckless and asked Guy that they should go after him.  Katsuyu told them Naruto doesn’t want any help but Neji was insistent saying he’s already weakened and cannot do it by himself.  He demanded Katsuyu to take them to Naruto.

Meanwhile, Inoichi, Shikaku and another ninja from the Hyuga clan are on their way to where they believe the real Pain is located.  When the ninja from Hyuga clan stopped and told them that Naruto is coming their way.  Just then, Naruto appeared.  Inoichi asked him if he’s here then does it mean that he was able to beat Pain.  Naruto answered that winning of losing, none of that matters.  Shikaku asked what he means by that.  Naruto said that it was hard to explain but that he has to find the real Pain and asked them not to follow him.  The Hyuga ninja asked him if he knows where he is.  Naruto informed them that he found him when he was in Sage Mode.  Inoichi demanded why he wanted to go by himself and asked him what really happened.  But Naruto just seem to give vague answers.  He told them there is something he needs to find out.  Inoichi asked what does he need to find out but Naruto only answered that he wants to talk to the real Pain.  Inoichi was angry with his answer.  He said he’s grateful that Naruto defeated Pain but talking will not solve anything now.  Naruto was angrier with Inoichi’s retort.  He asked so what then, should he just destroy Pain and his cronies and his whole village and that’ll solve everything?  But Inoichi said what is the use of talking, Pain is the enemy of Konoha and simply cannot be forgiven.  Naruto said he feels the same way.  Inoichi asked so then, what?

At this point, Shikaku interfered and told Inoichi to let Naruto go alone.  He said since he stopped Pain, he is sure Naruto has a plan.  Inoichi tried to argue but Shikaku insisted they let Naruto go.  Naruto thanked him and left.  Shikaku then had a flashback with him talking with his son, Shikamaru.  He remembered Shikamaru saying he went to talk with Naruto since he’s been feeling down.  Shikamaru goes on to say that Naruto has something no one else does and that he is going to be a very important ninja.  He said that when he is with Naruto, Naruto makes him want to walk with him.  So Shikaku told Inoichi to let Naruto handle it.

Naruto reaches the tree covered with paper.  Naruto entered with Konan standing in front of Nagato.  Nagato told her to stand back.

Naruto asked if he is the real one.  Nagato only replied, “So peace has arrived, eh?”

Jiraiya would pet Nagato’s hair. Nagato asks Jiraiya stuff like “Why do people have to fight?”. Jiraiya tells Nagato the same thing he said to Naruto earlier about people leaving the answer (the answer that all people can agree upon) up to him.
Nagato is looking up at Naruto, saying something like he will tell him everything. However, behind Nagato there is 1 Sharingan (Could it be Madara??)….

Naruto is facing Nagato. There is an illustration of Tendou’s finger moving quickly. Kisame says “Our leader can also do it boldly.” Zetsu says “If you weren’t here maybe we would’ve made it on time– ohh, wait a sec!”
Kisame captures Gai, and they fall quickly from high ground. They enter into battle. Gai says “You….!” Kisame says “Don’t you remember me yet? What kind of intelligence do you have to have to be like you??”

Zetsu appears before Danzo, and immediately they fight. Danzo says “What did you come here to do…??” Zetsu says “There’s something I came to tell you.” Danzou is silent….
Scene changes, Naruto and Nagato are there. “Konan! Open up!” says Nagato. Konan says “Ok ok I got it…”.
The paper shreds up, Naruto’s standing there. Naruto looks at Nagato surprised. Naruto says “what the heck kind of bady is that??”
Nagato says “The teacher says ‘because one knows what pain is, one is able to act kindly unto others. To grow and develop, one must think on his or her own about how to do that.”
Naruto, Konan and Pain reminisce together. The end.

The first page of this chapter shows Hinata in full page.  She is just so pretty.

Nagato

All right, we left off the last time with Naruto coming out of Chibaku Tensei in Sage Mode in Chapter 440.  Nagato wondered if Naruto has finally found a way to control the nine-tailed demon fox, then.  With this thought, Nagato coughs more blood with a worried Konan by his side.  Just then, the great ball created by the Chinra Tensei started falling apart on top the destroyed Konoha.  He admitted that Naruto’s tough.  He hoped to test the fox’s power byt never thought that that would be stonger than his Chibaku Tensei. Naruto, on the other hand, realized that when he went into fox mode, his chakra was disturbed and his shadow clones were gone.  Katsuya, on the other hand, is still on Naruto’s shoulder thought she was a goner.  Naruto was aghast thinking he’s done further damage to the village, seeing smoke billowing.  He immediately thought of Hinata.  Katsuyu said he did it while he was in fox mode.  Naruto was heartbroken thinking he destroyed Hinata and the rest of the villagers.  However, Katsuyu assured him everyone was okay and that it was pure luck that saved them.  Naruto cried out of relief.

Heartbreak

Meanwhile, Hinata is still calling out Naruto’s name.  Tenten, Neji, Lee and Gai immediately rushed to her aid.  Tenten said her wounds are not fatal but they could be if they do not hurry.  Neji immediately said he would look for a healer.  Gai, thinking of Gamabunta’s words said he never imagined the destruction would be this much.  Lee also found a wounded Shima.

Naruto wiped his tears away when Deva said that it’s time to finish what they have started.  He asked Naruto is he now understand his pain, saying if you don’t share it you cannot understand it.  He added further that even if Naruto now understands, doesn’t mean they can come into agreement. He further commented that it is as useless as Naruto chasing after Sasuke.  Naruto completely disregarded his words and asked Deva to take him to the real Pain to talk to him face to face.  Deva said he finally figured it out but that talking is over since nothing Naruto says will change anything.  He added that he’s finally figured out that Naruto can only do two Rasen Shuriken while in Sage Mode and once he does, he won’t be able to maintain the technique.  Naruto said that he guess he’ll have to fight him in order to speak with the real Pain.  Deva said that if Naruto’s two Rasen Shuriken misses, he’ll lose and that he will never give him another chance and he will beat him to death and take him as prisoner.  Still, Naruto said that he will just have to find the real him himself.  Katsuyu asked him how and Naruto told her he’s got an idea.

Naruto's Idea

Deva started his attack towards Naruto using the chakra blade.  Naruto got hold of the other end of the chakra blade, kicked Deva away causing the blade to snap into two.  Then, Naruto stabbled himself on the right arm with the chakra blade.  He then immediately sensed where Nagato’s location is.  He’s located on top of a mountain beyond the forest of Konoha.  He is inside a huge tree on top of that mountain.  Nagato immediately realized that Naruto in sage mode was able to trace him with his chakra blade.

Naruto then used Kage Bunshin Technique and immediately created a Rasen Shuriken.  Then he threw a smoke bomb.  Deva anticipated the Rasen Shuriken saying it’s the first one and it’ll be hidden in the smoke.  He said he won’t fall for it the second time around.  Naruto threw the Rasen Shuriken and Deva used Shinra Tensei to block Naruto’s attack on the real Pain. Just as Dava blocked it, it turns out it’s just a decoy!  It’s only a shadow shuriken and not a real Rasen Shuriken.

Team Guy just arrived. Tenten checks Hinata. Pain missed her vitals, and with immediately medical treatment she will be fine.
Hearing that, Neji uses his Byakugan to find a medical ninja. Lee discovers Ma frog he says “there’s an injured frog here” They’re wasting time (laugh)
Guy says one word: Akatsuki… So much for this, I’ll tell you the things you want to see

Change to Naruto he says to Deva Realm that he wants to speak to the real body for negotiations.
Omission
Breakdown – Talking to you after all this now would be nonsensical

Naruto is like “Well, then I’ll have to look for him myself” Katsuyu asks how he’s going to do that.
Naruto has an idea: He’ll engage Deva Realm in a fistfight, break of one of the black rods and pierces himself with it. Using Sennin mode, he can locate the real body like tracing a phone call.

To finish off Deva Realm, Naruto throws a Fuuton: Rasen Shuriken, which Deva realm deflects, but it seems Naruto took advantage of the five-second interval by throwing a second shadow shuriken.

Duke: I am not a big anime fan, I have watch a few, but I wouldn’t consider myself to be at all an extreme.  I usually write post for humor, or for reasons unknown to myself.  However, this post, I will be serious due to the importance of this topic… Read on. 

I have seen this one aspect throughout many japanese animes; however this is not a topic greatly discussed, therefore I will try my best to enlighten people on certain aspects of life.  My current favorite anime right now is Naruto.  Naruto has impacted my life in such a way in which is very hard to describe.  It isn’t the fact that they are ninjas and I want to be a ninja of some sort, however, it is because of the underlying, constant theme of hardwork it continuously hammers down on the viewers.  I notice in other animes like Bleach, this idea of not giving up, fighting for what’s right, will lead to good things.  This led to me see other connections with other animes such as Slam Dunk, where a person of failure, becomes a hero through sheer guts, willpower, and determination. 

Throughout my life, my mom has constantly told me how we viets are lazy, no good, and probably as a country would not succeed.  My mom told me at a very young age Japanese, in contrast to us, are very hardworking and strives to the best in everything they do.  Time to them is more valuable than even money.  They do not waste any time of the day knowing time cannot rewind, the same day the same hour can never come back, once it passes by it is gone. What we do with that time is up to us. I personally have never been to Japan, neither have my mom, but what she said makes sense to some degree.  All the good cars, electronic devices, are from Japan Currently Japan has the second highest growing economy, and will probably catch up to the United States in a few decades. 

I am very sad to see that my people will never prosper like Japanese.  We as a majority are very corrupt, and of course we haven’t been very fortunate as how our history as a race unfolds.  Our constant wars with China has weakened our state due to China dominating us for like several milleniums along with the arrival of the communist infection, which drastically weakened our economy.  Even now, were constantly being pushed and bullied by higher powers, stuck between the United States and China.  Last year during the olympics of 2008, we only won one medal, while asian countries such as Korea, Chinese, and Japan are in the top ten.  Don’t get me wrong, I love to be Viet, I have immense pride in my country but I wish my people would steer in the correct direction away from the secular things in life, but in a road where we can be proud of what we have accomplished.

Japanese are a very proud race, they are, and do believe that they are much better than all the other asian countries.  Everything in their society focuses around success and hard work.  It is portrayed over and over again in Naruto, from Rock Lee to songs like Nageraboshi.  Rock Lee, if you didn’t know, is the quintessiential representation of hardwork.  Such examples can be seen in the anime where he would train from morning to night.  Even when injured and in the hospital he would do 2oo pushups with one hand, to the point where he faints due to exhaustion.  In many of the naruto songs I have notice also emphases this hardwork theme.  In Nageraboshi, for example, we see lyrics in which its telling us to you know be better than everyone be that one shining star, above all the others, be great, work hard. 

My life has been a struggle, and yes I have face many challenges and still are facing them today.  But, because of the anime Naruto and such, has inspired me to keep believing in myself, to be stronger, to be better.  To not give up faith in the things I believed in.  And when I look at youth today, living in california, most people have no idea what their life is about.  It is so meaningless, living a life where, your goals are unclear to you.  Lots of asians working hard, getting straight A’s, but that isn’t their goal, that’s their parent’s ideological goals implanted in their heads.  We  need more asians in the music industry, art industry, sports, literature, etc.  We need to listen to our own goals, our own voices, rather than our oppressive force aka parents.  You know, keep the dream you had, when you were little, and don’t let society affect your thinking, keep true to that wish you had when you weren’t corrupt for the need of wanting money, wanting that hot boy/girl. 

And if our society have people doing what they love inspite of what they think they should be, how great, how close to utopia we can achieve.  However, I do realize alot of people watch/read anime/manga, but it’s the theme behind it, the moral behind it we should be focusing at.  Why be obssess with the pairings either gay/straight/lesbian.  How will that improve your life.  These meaningless thing anime fans are pouring their hearts into will lead to no productivity, except cynism.  People are way too obssess with things that don’t matter, don’t take anime and turn it into something bad and creepy, when its purpose is to inspire.  It is sad, but alot of people have no goals in life, and when they do watch animes like Naruto all they can focus on is hints of sasuke and naruto love relationships rather than how naruto struggles to be the Hokage.

A worthy protagonist.

Lots of people dissed Naruto, and call it crap, and all of that.  Those are ignorants, who have no realize the idea, the complex moral values it brings into our daily lives.  Naruto, unlike most action anime, has a main character who is weak, and is constantly weak throughout the anime until now in the manga.  Other animes such as Bleach, we see Ichigo grow strong in a rapidly fast amount of time:  he learns bankai and then, control his hollow form.  But throughout Naruto, the main character gradually becomes a little stronger each and every episode in which is more realistic, because in reality no one can shortcut their way to their goals.  If you want to be a great tennis player, go out there and play tennis each and everyday, work on every aspect such as reflexes speed, hand eye coordination.  There is no super magical shortcut that will allow you to be super great in a short amount of time.  When I watch Chinese action series, hardwork is not something that is greatly emphasized.  I’ve been watching them since I was a kid, and never have I been inspired to work hard, to be better, because its not realistically possible.  I can’t juss attain power through some magical shortcut.

The sad part is most anime fans are seen obsessive, weird, nerds, uncool etc.  I think the problem is most of us don’t see it in the way it was intended to be made.  People don’t see the underlying messages, or they do but it does not impact them to a certain extent.  They get distracted but such thing as the coolness of sasuke, the made up love stories between characters in which is ridiculous.  When you focus on these little details, you begin to lose the big picture.  Yeah i watched certain animes such as Ouran Highschool Host Club where it was all funny and stuff, but I never learned much from it, it never really had an impact on me, such as Full Metal Panic Fumoffu.  It is enjoyable, entertaining, but certainly a big waste of time. 

So anime fans, please don’t take this too harshly, it’s merely my views on this and I realize that I am not perfect, but its something I definately greatly believed in.  Many people have an empty hole in their lives, because they focus too much on the secular and not the interior. It is a stupidity to be obssess with anime.  Use anime as a tool to your sucess, not the blockade to the road of your dreams, your goals. 

In my experience, on days when all I do is enjoy myself, it is fun, it is relaxing, but you don’t truly feel happiness.  I feel like my life is empty, that I am wasting what’s left of my life on this Earth when there are bigger things waiting.  So on days when I work my butt off, training really hard, even though my body is all sore, leaving me weak, tired, but I get this euphoric feeling of happiness, knowing that I have done something with my day, instead of wasting it.  Knowing that I have acomplished something through hard work and sheer willpower.  That, my friends, is the best feeling in the world better than any anime, any porn, any drugs… the feelings of self accomplishment.
