I am finally out of this winter thing. Actually what pushed me out of it was a visit to a store.

The neon busy graphics, bold name, and sort of grunge kitty “feel” of Ivey Deschanel’s store always made me think perhaps it wasn’t a place for me. I  just don’t do that sort of grunge neko thing very well. However, I went in the other day and found that Ivey does a little more than sassy kitty clothing, and I liked what I saw.

This outfit from Ivey is glam and sexy and elegant all at once. The elaborate textures in the pants, as if burnt into a velvet, accentuate my long legs and curves with the sculpties that bottom out the legs in a flare. The jacket has a great bolero cut with a tied front—very modern and urban. But the sleeves, made of sculpties, have that decadent featheriness (without the cliched PS fur that everyone else uses) that makes this outfit truly glam. The rich depth of the top with its hand-drawn wrinkles and sexy low-cut back (shown here without the jacket) create a slinky and sensuous camisole. The look is complete and whole and ideal. Ivey’s system piece work is clean and well-done with great seams and edges. Her textures in this outfit are delicious.

Sachi Vixen has long been making skins, but her Portia line is a recent addition that once again displays her fine talents as an artist. I especially like the eye makeup on this skin with its subtle rainbow hues, entirely appropriate for an elegant glam girl—not over the top but pushing the edge. And her sexy décolletage is not over the top. I just don’t need to look like I am “enhanced.”

I was in the grocery store when I passed by a man in the aisle.

He was older, my dad’s age, with black hair the reached his lower back, and that crazed look of people who have been doing too many drugs for the past thirty years.

He caught my eye and unsteadily but quickly lurched closer to me.

“Whooooa! I LOVE your hair!” He  spoke in a British accent, and reached out to touch it.

I get that sometimes, on rare days like today when I actually blow-dry the crazy mess. “Oh!” I said, surprised and intrigued by the accent. “Thank you!”

“And your EYES! and your smile, and whooa, you just MESMERIZE me!” His high-as-a-kite expression and the fact that he literally couldn’t tear his eyes away from me was too comical, and hit me before the idea that maybe I should keep walking did.

“I’m a musician, and I have a girlfriend, but I like to flirt, do you have a ring, you should have a ring, you should be married, someone should marry you!”

I laughed, then feeling awkward, tried to think of an escape route.

Then my escape route presented herself– she walked up and hugged him close, and in a Southern accent, drawled, “Honey, are you hittin’ on the girls again?” She laughed and smiled.

She had long, overly dyed brassy blonde hair that hung to her waist, and skin that led me to believe she had done as many drugs as he had. Actually, it was the rainbow beanie complete with propeller on her head that tipped me off.

I laughed and said to her, “You got a good one, there!”, and then ran away.

Still wondering where the guys my age are. And why THEY aren’t hitting on me.

Ii admir pe colectionari foarte sincer. Mi se pare o chestie foarte tare sa poti sa te tii de ceva – acelasi ceva – ani si ani de zile.

Evident, nu am reusit niciodata sa fac o colectie decenta de ceva. Am incercat cu surprizele Turbo, dar nu prea era fun. Le aveai pe toate si gata. Bine, si acum am in dinti aroma gumei Turbo. Si de fiecare data cand vad un Renault Fuego salivez.

Totusi, la un moment dat am crescut o colectie draguta de reviste. Aveam integrele Rocker (primita cadou, ce-i drept)  si Vox Pop & Rock (cumparate, citite si pastrate chiar de mine).

Primele numere din Rocker erau absolut savuroase. Tin minte interviul cu celebra trupa Grumaz – nu cred ca s-a pastrat vreo inregistrare cu distinsii domni. Alta amintire vie este articol despre cum ar trebui sa se imbrace rockerii si, mai ales, cum NU ar trebui. Exista o versiune mai actuala pe Metropotam, dar cu tot respectul, nu se compara. Una din regulile din Rocker era “nu purtati salvari sau pantaloni bufanti”. Genial! Erau si nelipsitele postere – cel cu Mustaine apare in Liceeni Rock’n'Roll la un moment dat.

VP&R era o revista mai “serioasa”. In anii 90 nu cred ca a exsitat o alta aparitie de gen la fel de consistenta. Am suferit teribil la degradarea revistei, dar am continuat sa o cumpar pana cand a disparut de tot. Incepeam cu pagina lui Gombos si urmau restul. Cert e ca asa am aflat de 75% din muzica pe care o stiu acum. True, de la un moment dat incolo am inceput sa fiu mai putin sensibil la nou. Voi reveni pe tema asta, ca mi se pare interesant.

La un moment dat, in focul unei mutari, colectiile mele au luat drumul cosurilor de gunoi. Ma incearca, inca, o usoara urma de regret, trebuie sa recunosc.

Bun, si intrebarea pe final: se pot colectiona site-uri? Bloguri? Clipuri de pe Youtube? Chestii de genul asta. Cumva bookmark-urile nu mi se par suficiente. Deci, cum e?

J’adore tellement les chaises ayant un design particulier que j’ai décidé, il y a quelques années, de commencer une collection de chaises. J’ai souvent un seul exemplaire de la dite chaise mais parfois je me laisse tenter par un duo ou un quatuor. Je vais même jusqu’à acheter des modèles similaires mais de différentes couleurs. Il m’arrive aussi d’en recevoir en cadeau pour mon anniversaire ou à Noël, et croyez-moi, j’en suis fort ravie!

Megváltam régi szerelmeimtől…A zenekaros pólóimtól. Persze4-5 öt megtartottam pizsinek, a többiből majd párnát varrok.

Szakítanom kellet,mert az már nem én vagyok. a rövid hajamhoz amúgysem áltak már jól. Úgy érzem, hogy 17 éves koromra kinőttem a “rocker” jelzőt. Persze,nem leszek divatpicsa, de ezzel a stílussal most szakítanom kellett.

De attól függetlenül még a zenéért élek. Mármint a rockzenéért. Csakugye az emberek változnak.

Attólmég rocker vagyok csak nem fogok zenekaros felsőket hordani mostantól.

Az én stílusomat már nem rockernek hívják..ez valami más…

Q: Koja je razlika između vaših jakni i onih „jeftinijih“ koje možemo kupiti u shopping centrima?
Postoji mnogo tehničkih raznolikosti, previše da bi ih sada nabrajao. Glavna razlika je je u tome, kao što ja volim reći svojim kupcima, što mi radimo „skupu kožu“. Nemamo želju raditi jeftinije jakne samo kako bi ih mogli prodavati masama. Skoro svi žele raditi što jeftinije kako bi mogli prodati što više. Naša fiozofija je upravo suprotna od toga. Mi se trudimo napraviti što kvalitetnije bez obzira na to koliko će onda kasnije koštati. Naši kupci se nalaze na gornjoj granici tržišta gdje je kvaliteta, usluga i funkcionalnost puno više važnija od cijene.
Trudimo se već zadnjih 60 godina zadržati istu ili još bolju kvalitetu. Naš stil se vrlo malo promijenio od kada je Ross dizajnirao mnoge od njih još od sredine 1940. godine. Da završim….ljudi koji žele kupiti motociklističku kožnu jaknu iz nekog shooping centra zapravo više gledaju na ono što je moderno u tome trenu. S druge strane mi smo više usmjereni na to što zapravo nekom bikeru treba da bi mu najbolje funkcionirala. Dizajniramo ih i radimo kako bi stavarno zadovoljili sve ono što je potrebno jednom bikeru, a ne pozerima.

Q: Zašto niste željeli širiti posao? Ekonomisti govore kako mali obiteljski posao teško može konkurirati velikoj industrijskoj proizvodnji, no čini se i dalje postoji mnogo takvih obiteljskih tvrtki koje uspješno posluju…
Da, prema nekim modernim standardima mi potpuno radimo sve krivo što se tiče vođenja posla. Nije lako ostati „mali „ i još obiteljski. Javljaju se mnogi problemi, ali s druge strane vidim mnogo veće poslove koji se previše zanose s velikom, brzom i lakom zaradom kada je tržište dobro. Ali tržište neće zauvijek biti u dobroj poziciji. Kada su vremena dobra tendencija mnogih poslovnih ljudi je da raste u skladu s tržištem. Na žalost to na kraju može donijeti mnogo problema kada tržište počne padati. U tom trenutku imati višak proizvodnih kapaciteta može biti problem i može voditi do katastrofe posla ako je poslovni novac ograničen.
Toliko o mojoj teoriji poslovne prakse. Mi se jednostavno osjećamo mnogo ugodnije limitirajući svoju veličinu i da imamo stav da nije potrebno da se proširimo kako bi zadovoljili zahtjeve tržišta kada posao cvjeta. Potpuno smo zadovoljni svojom veličinom i izbjegavamo kušnju da se obogatimo. Mislim da je puno važnije da imamo posao koji je stabilan i koji kupci iznimno cijene, njegovu kvalitetu i uslugu, nego da pokušamo zadovoljiti potrebe svakog potencijalnog kupca, da imamo niže cijene i lošiju kvalitetu. Nadam se da ovo ima smisla.

Vjerujem da se mnoge tvrke bore da nude što jeftinije, ali mi smo upravo suprotno i vrlo nam je lako biti na vrhu tržišta. Začuđujuće, ali na vrhu nema konkurencije. No primijetio sam da postoje tvrtke koje pokušavaju kopirati naš uspjeh radeći slične stilove, a onda režu rubove kako bi imali jeftiniju cijenu. Ali prema mome iskustvu, oni nisu uspješni kada to učine. Obično ne ostaju dugo u poslu jer na taj način jednostavno ne mogu preživjeti.

Q: Kako gledate na sljedećih par godina s obzirom na ekonomsku krizu?
Nisam ekonomski stručnjak pa okljevam dajući odgovor. Ali mislim da bi moglo biti gadno i za male i za velike poslove. Mislim da će se mnogi bojati ekonomskog kolapsa i da će se dvoumiti da potroše svoj novac na bilo što osim na osnovne potrebe. Naravno, mnogo toga će ovisiti o tome koliko će narasti nezaposlenost i koliko će ljudi vjerovati političarima koji će tvrditi da je sve u redu u svijetu. Pa..tko zna što će biti u bližoj budućnosti. Vrijeme će reći..!!!

Q: Bojite li se jeftinijih uvoznih proizvoda?
Ne… mnogi naši kupci su posjedovali jeftinije stvari i ipak preferiraju nostiti dobre stvari. Mnogi bajkeri koji kupe stavari za $20k do $30k ne žele voziti motor i uništiti taj bajkerski izgled noseći jeftinu jaknu.

Prosječno na dan dobijemo jednu ponudu od kompanija iz Pakistana ili Kine koji mi žele prodati svoju kožu. Obično kada im pošaljem čvrsto „NE!“ oni mi se jave s porukom kako je njihova koža odlična i vrlo povoljna. Cijena im je uvijek ono što naglašavaju kako bi prodali. Paaa…ja se ne želim natjacati s njima u cijeni. Mogu ciljati na to područje tržišta bez brige o meni. Moja publika je ona kojoj je dosta uvezene kvalitete po niskim cijenama. Ja im dajem pravu kvalitetu, tehnički superioran proizvod i top uslugu. Na tome je izgrađena reputacija mog obiteljskog posla i naša reputacija nam je vrlo važna.

Kada vidite jakne izrađene od nekog brend imena, znate da je kompanija odrezala i sašila konstrukciju. Zapravo, ono što brend prodaje može biti vrlo često izrađeno od neke druge tvrtke koja je samo ove godine dobila na natječaju i sklopila ugovor za tu godinu. I druge godine..tko zna ugovor, može dobiti neka trećerazredna tvrtka. Vrlo teško je otkriti tko je zapravo izrađivao. Identitet produkta je usko vezan za ime tvrtke koja prodaje. Proizvodnja je zanemarena, ako ne i namjerno pregledana u cijelom procesu.
Za nas je proizvodnja dio naše tradicije i izmješana je s našim imidžem. Kod nas kupac može stajati na jednom mjestu i naručiti komplet kože s time da može vidjeti cijeli proces bez micanja s tog mjesta. Može naručiti na pultu i biti izmjeren na istom mjestu. Papirologija se onda odrađuje u uredu koji se vidi odmah iza pulta gdje je naruđba procesuirana. S lijeve strane se nalaze table za rezanje, koje su također vidljive. Jednom odrezan komad se seli u zadnji dio prostorije koji kupac može vidjeti ako se malo pomakne na lijevo. Zatim se pomiče prema naprijed gdje se koža šiva. Gotova jakna se tada pregledava direktno pred kupcem. Kada je sve gotovo jakna se daje kupcu preko pulta koji se cijelo vrijeme uopće nije trebao pomaknuti da bi vidio cijeli propces izvedbe. To se jednostavno ne događa u nekom drugom poslu koji sam ja vidio. A sigurno se ne događa u situaciji gdje tvrtka uvozi svoj proizvod iz neke druge radione neke druge tvrtke. •

Echt wahr: Grad hatte ich mir genügend Mut angespart, mal die Einladung anzunehmen und meine Nachbarn zu besuchen. Was soll schon passieren, dachte ich. Zwar bin ich nur Drahtesel-Biker, aber ich bin andererseits auch weder Bordell-Kunde, noch brauch ich derzeit eine Waffe, und meine Drogen gibt’s legal im Fachhandel. Ich muß also heikle Dinge gar nicht ansprechen und kann in Ruhe die neue, heiße Kaffeemaschine testen, die es im Fat Mexican gibt.

Aber nix ist, bzw. der Himmel über der Hood ist schon wieder blaulicht-beleuchtet und es riecht nach Street Fightin’ Men. Das Fat Mexican hatte bereits „Besuch“ – weniger friedlichen und freundlichen, nämlich die Hell’s Angels. Zwischen dem Großbordell „Laufhaus 26“ und dem Bandido Place  gabs die nächste Runde Rockerkrieg. Baseballschläger, Dachlatten, Totschläger, Tränengas-Kartuschen, Molotow-Cocktails. Das Vereinsheim der Bandidos wurde verwüstet. Wenigstens waren diesmal keine Todesopfer zu beklagen. Trotzdem, die Lage ist angespannt.

Was mich angeht, ich bin nicht Quentin Tarantino, ich bin von Gewalt nicht unbedingt fasziniert, aber entgangen ist mir nicht, daß die Rocker zig mal besser ausgerüstet, effizienter organisiert und rascher vor Ort waren, als die Polizei, deren SEK-Kräfte gerade noch rechtzeitig eintrafen, um sich sagen zu lassen, sie mögen sich heraushalten. Ein Polizeisprecher dazu: „Das haben wir denn auch getan“.

Der Presse entnehme ich, an einem durchschnittlichen Samstagabend hätte man in ganz Duisburg rund 20 Streifenwagen im Einsatz. Die MCs mobilisieren, wenn’s  sein muß, innerhalb von 30 Minuten zwei-, dreihundert motorisierte Kräfte. Mir gibt das zu denken.
