Art Basel was kind of a blur. These are a few of the people that were blessed enough to receive an Art Bastard shirt. We did alot of roaming around miami that week. Max Fish (formerly PS14) Shore Club, Vagabond, OhWow Gallery, White Room, Awarehouse. Not included in the pics, but lucky recipients of Art Bastard shirts include Fab 5 Freddy, Danger Mouse and Iggy Pop.

We were hanging out at the Shore Club when Russell Simmons showed up and kinda flew through the crowd. So Carlos approached Uncle Rush and before he could say anything, Russell Simmons saw the Art Bastard shirt and said “thats a cool-ass shirt”. Nuff Said.

I read an interview/conversation with Doze Green and David Ellis around the time of their collaborative show “Rubicon Son”. In it Doze makes the point that galleries are nothing without the artists. We dont need them, THEY NEED US! and therefore we shouldnt be concerned with what they dictate are standards for art. To me it was a kind of a slap to wake the fuck up and stop stressing trying to “make it”.

The name Art Bastard was a combination of wordplay and the ideal of not compromising our artwork for the sake of marketing to galleries.
It embraces all the dope, original, struggling local artists far and wide who dont make it to the fancy shmancy shows and galleries.
Art Bastard is a middle finger to those who bite styles and kiss ass to make their way to the top.
Create for YOURSELF and nobody else.
Its a stance.
A call to arms for everyone to find themselves and let that be the representation of their work.
Use YOUR flaws,smiles,insecurities,pain,passion,love,hate,customized distortions as tools to create.
There should be no mistake that it was YOU who created the work.
Too many times I’ve seen a piece and thought, “oh dope, its blahblahblahs work”. only to find it was somebody from the other side of the planet with no relation to the artist. thats for suckers.
If youre not going to be yourself then get outta the way.
Imitation is not the highest form of flattery,its the quickest way to socked in the mouth.

Polisen i Vellinge har de senaste dagarna utökat ramarna när det gäller hets mot folkgrupp, de anser nämligen att en lövhög är hets mot folkgrupp.

Den politiskt korrekta skrämselhickan blir bara mer och mer absurd, som om den inte var tillräckligt absurd ändå.

Vad är det med en lövhög som är hets mot folkgrupp? Är det färgen på de multna löven? (De var ju brunaktiga, och sådana hemska saker får under inga omständigheter absolut inte förekomma)

Eller är det färgen på röken från de brinnande löven som är hets mot folkgrupp? (Mig veterligen finns det inte något folkslag som har mörkgrå hudfärg, men det klart, jag kan ju ha fel förstås)

Ja, vad är det frågan om egentligen?

Det finns bara ett sätt att få reda på detta, nämligen att se denna video. OBS! Sätt er ner först och spänn sedan fast er med kraftiga snökedjor av sällan skådat slag.

Jag menar, man får ju tillräckligt ont av skrattanfallen ändå utan att behöva slå sig.

Tillägg kl. 18.56 den 26:e november: I skrivande stund har jag just läst på http://trelleborgsallehanda.se/vellinge/article573794/Utredningar-om-hets-mot-folkgrupp-nedlagda.html att ärendet om lövhögen är nedlagt i brist på bevis om hets mot folkgrupp.

Men det tror väl faan det, idioter som anser att en brinnande lövhög kan vara hets mot folkgrupp är ju sjuka i huvudet!

Seperti biasa kalo mudik ke kampung halaman aku selalu menggunakan pesawat sejak kelas 2 SMA namun sebelum-sebelunya aku selalu menggunakan jasa transportasi laut yaitu kapal. Aku lebih prefer make pesawat sejak adanya harga tiket yang murah meriah sekitar 6-7 tahun yang lalu, waktu itu harga tiket Surabaya-Banjarmasin kisaran 200-300 ribu (waktu itu masih dapet makan) sedangkan kalo langsung dari Jogja-Banjarmasin harganya selisih 100ribu an lebih mahal. Kenapa aku milih pesawat? Ini karena harga tiket ekonomi pesawat kurang lebih sama dengan harga tiket VIP kapal laut dengan jarak tempu yang sama dan lebih cepat dengan pesawat tentunya. Layaknya sebuah maskapai penerbangan selalu ada pramugari yang selalu siap melayani penumpangnya. Al kisah saat mudik kelas 2 akhir klo ga salah tersebut aku dan temen-teman dari Banjarmasin memilih sebuah maskapai yang cukup baru (mungkin baru berdiri 2 tahunan saat itu) untuk mengangkut kami pulkam. Pilihan kami jatuh (sebenarnya sih aku yang milih, secara aku koordiantornya) pada maskapai tersebut karena tiketnya termurah dibandingkan yang lain.

Maskapai yang kami pilih terkenal dengan pesawatnya yang beda sendiri, kalo maskapai lain menggunakan Boeing 737 maka maskapai ini memakai Boeing MD + pramugarinya cakep-cakep. Bila dilihat dari dimensi pesawat ini lebih panjang dan langsing daripada pesawat lainya yang gemuk namun secara kapasitas penumpang sama saja. Saat itu pertama kalinya aku naik maskapai ini, cukup kagum dengan pesawat yang digunakan dan kekaguman semakin bertambah lagi dengan pramugarinya yang cantik-cantik dan umurnya sangat muda sekali (beda banget sama maskapai yang sudah eksis duluan). Sejak masuk pesawat mataku tidak pernah lepas memandangi para pramugari pesawat tersebut, dengan wajah rupawan ditambah dengan seragam yang sangat khas. Seragam yang meraka pakai berwarna merah dengan style China dan sexy dengan rok panjang sampai mata kaki namun ada belasan disampingnya sampai paha (Belahannya lumayan tinggi juga). Sebagai seorang cowok wajarlah mata ku jelalatan dan aku yakin kebanyakan penumpang pria lainnya melakukan hal yang sama karena pada waktu itu aku juga sempat memperhatikan para penumpang lainnya juga. Betapa senang hati waktu itu disuguhi pemandangan yang seger selepas dari sekolah yang noatabeni asrama dan butek dengan pemandangan yang ada hi2x…Para pramugari biasalah lalu lalang di cabin mulai dari peragaan tatacara keselamatan sampai membagikan makanan kepada penumpang, ada seorang pramugari yang sedang berjalan ke arah kursi ku tiba-tiba ada barangnya jatuh di dekat kaki. Reflek saja aku mau mengambilkan, aku dengan  posisi menunduk di kursi dan si pramugari juga mau mengambik barangnya dengan posisi jongkok di depanku. Walah-walah ga sengaja roknya tersingkap (gara-gara belahannya ketinggian) di hadapanku dan posisiku juga sangat mendukung untuk melihatnya( lagi nunduk ke arah si pramugari) seepp mantab bener pemandangannya (sayang cdnya ga keliatan he2x..). Pramugari tersebut dengan cepat merapikan roknya dan berjalan berlalu begitu saja tanpa kata-kata. Aku sih cengengesan aja, entah apakah penumpang lain juga melihat adegan kami tadi (kyk adegan salah satu iklan parfum di TV)

Beberapa tahun kemudian aku naik dengan maskapai tersebut, agak sedikit kaget dengan seragam pramugarinya. Kaget karena seragam merekajadi lebih sopan tidak sesexy pas aku pertama kali naik dengan maskapai itu lalu kok kyknya pramugarinya tidak muda-muda kyk dulu namun tetep aku acungi jempol tetap cantik-cantik. Setelah pengalaman aku menggunakan  maskapai tersebut ada serentetan kecelakaan penerbangan  di tanah air  hingga yang paling dasyat, jatuhnya pesawat adam air di Sulawesi. Lebaran tahun ini baik mudik mamupun kembali ke Surabaya aku menggunakan masakpai itu lagi…hmmm hmmm seragamnya balik awal lagi walau ga sexy-sexy amat dengan rok yang punya belahan panjang. Bedanya sekarang para pramugarinya menggunakan daleman semacam celana ketat (eitsss, sukanya ngintip) jadi biar kalo roknya kesingkap ga bakal keliatan 2 paha putih mulus lus lus…….
