Mon chien est un imbécile… d’habitude. C’est le genre à courir après sa queue pour passer le temps, avoir des épisodes épileptiques ou il se garoche d’un coin à l’autre le mon appartement sans but, ou encore de se débattre comme un maniaque avec une couverture ou un jouet en peluche… Un chien quoi…

Mais il y a une chose qu’il fait qui est quand même impressionnante : quand je quitte le matin pour le travail, je l’enferme dans la cuisine avec des barrières pour enfants (style grillage en plastique que l’on trouve chez Toys”R”Us d’un peu moins

d’un mètre de hauteur). Je dois en empiler deux pour ne pas qu’il saute par dessus et détruise mon salon… Par contre, dernièrement, je quitte en vitesse le matin. Hier et ce matin, j’ai complètement oublié d’installer la deuxième barrière et, à ma grande surprise, j’ai retrouvé mon chien endormi dans son lit, dans la cuisine, là ou il était supposé! J’ai même pensé que peut-être je pourrais commencer à ne plus mettre les barrières!!

SAUF QUE – ce soir, à mon retour, non seulement j’ai retrouvé mon chien dans la cuisine, mais j’ai également trouvé une boîte de biscuits, vide -une chance-, déchirée et éparpillée un peu partout dans mon salon! Comme s’il s’était sauvé de sa prison, amusé à éventrer la pauvre boîte et qu’il s’est soudainement souvenu qu’il se ferait chicaner de ne pas être dans la cuisine et y serait retourné, résigné. Comme si je n’aurais pas remarqué les millions de petits morceaux de boîte de biscuit qui traînaient partout parce Môssieur était endormis sur son coussin… Pas si bête, mais pas si fin non plus!

J’avais oublié à quel point il était quasiement impossible de regarder les étoiles à Ottawa…

La fête surprise pour ma grand-mère s’est très bien passée. Tout la famille (ou presque) s’est entassée dans la cuisine chez mes parents à Hawkesbury. Il y avait, comme à chacune des fête de se genre, de la bouffe pour environ trois fois le groupe que nous étions (et dire que ma mère m’a toujours dit de finir mon assiette quand j’étais petit, parce que y’avait des petits africains qui ne mangeaient pas à leur faim… Est-ce qu’on peut leur poster la lasagne -complète- qui reste?)

Les gens sont parti plus tard que je ne l’avais prévu alors j’ai décidé de rester, avec mon chien. Ce qui veut imanquablement dire que j’ai du le marcher celui là!!

Il fait tellement noir chez mes parents, et surtout avec ce ciel sans nuages, que j’ai été étourdi (litéralement) par le nombre d’étoile que j’ai pu voir – une étoile filante même, oui j’ai fait un voeux. On oublie facilement, à Ottawa, avec toutes les “étoiles” articifielles (lampadaires, feux de circulation, phares de voitures et autres du genre) que le ciel n’arrête pas là, et que, là-haut, il y a un millier de petits points blanc qui veillent sur nous!

Hace algunos años decia que las personas que se aman demasiado deberian morir al mismo tiempo, y en estos dias algo asi sucedió.

Mis tios dos personas que realmente eran uno solo, todo lo hacian juntos, ambos lo eran todo para el otro, siempre que hablaba sobre el amor con mi prima y pensabamos en alguna pareja realmente feliz y enamorada ellos eran referencia segura, para mi siempre fueron el ideal de lo que una pareja debe ser, juntos en las buenas y en las malas.

Enamorados como novios apesar de los años trancurridos, creo que ellos si entendian eso de que con el tiempo el amor no muero si no que se hace mas grande,cuando realmente es amor.

Por desgracias la tragedia llego a esa familia ; un asalto trunco la salud de mi tio y despues de 2 meses de agonia fallecio en el hospital, todo este tiempo mi tia permaneció a su lado cuidandolo.

Yo comentaba que no creia que la tia soportara su ausencia, y que seguramente ella se iria con el, nunca pensé que tan pronto, y pues hace unos dias y a 8 de la muerte del tio ella falleció. Finalmente es cieto no pudo vivir sin el.

Algunos dicen que es el desgaste de los meses en el hospital pero yo se que lo que realmente paso es que se le rompió el corazón, no a ese grado pero se lo que es ese vacio de la persona que amas.

Aunque triste esta fue una real historia de amor, realmente toco nuestro corazón, yo no estaba triste al contraio me alegra que no estuvieran tanto tiempo separados porque la ausencia del ser amado deja un vacio que jamas se llena.

Como dijo una tia ni la muerte los pudo separar, lo unico lamentable fueron los hechos que llevaron a todo esto, que unas personas malas irrumpieran asi en una familia buena.Pero de ellos se encargará y decidirá Dios.

Gran muestra de amor sin condiciones que dejaron ellos,que suerte poder irte con la persona que amas y no sufrir esa mancanza que te mata lentamente.

Ahora si tios dieron una catedrá de verdadero amor, que seria bueno que muchos aprendieran, aquellos que no creen en ese amor unico y eterno, en que solo hay un ser para cada quien…Gracias tios porque si en momentos el mundo me hace dudar de mi corazon rosa, ahora se que vale la pena mantenerlo apesar de lo que digan y de las adversidades.

Gracias por haber dado testionio de que en este mundo aun existe amor…

Eric and Alan were 20th century staples.  Does this old school smoosh work in the 21st?

Alaric is Goth.  Not the dark eyeliner, Siouxie Sioux Goth.  Nope, we’re talking the havoc-making, Rome-sacking Visigoths.

Alaric I ruled the Visigoths early in the fifth century, establishing a new royal line and invading the Eternal City in 410.  He was a big deal back then, and you’ll find references to him in art and literature through the ages.

Alaric II came along a few decades later, in 485.  In between the two Alarics,  Gesalec, Sigarec, Wallia and Thorismund held the throne, among others.  Your average Visigoth monarch’s moniker would not wear terribly well circa 2009.

But Alaric is the exception.  He sounds like a three-syllable combo platter made up of Eric and Alan, but he’s actually from the Germanic elements ala - all and ric – ruler, or something like “king of all.”  It’s a fitting name for the founder of a dynasty.

Besides the Visigoths, there was a legendary king of Sweden called Alrek 0r Alrekr, and often Anglicized as Alaric.

While Alaric has never appeared in the US Top 1000, you’ll find Alaric in the census records.  The Latin form of the name – Alaricus – pops up in medieval records, too, suggesting that he’s been in occasional use for generations.

But most modern parents probably discover Alaric in the pages of a book.  If not history, then fiction:

• Katherine Kountz used Alaric for a character in her long-running Deryni fantasy series – he’s a duke, and a good egg;
• Stephen King used it for Roland’s grandfather in his Dark Towers series;
• One of Anthony Trollope’s Three Clerks was Alaric Tudor;
• PG Wodehouse, best known for his Jeeves & Wooster series, also wrote about the inhabitants of Blandings Castle.  The elderly, grouchy Duke of Dunstable is a frequent visitor – and wears the name Alaric.

The British Navy used Alaric for a submarine late in World War II, and at least one Alaric has served the US military with distinction – back during the Civil War, Union Army officer Alaric Chapin was awarded the medal of honor.

It’s difficult to decide if Alaric is over the top in 2009.  Gavin and Tristan are Top 100 picks.  Boys answer to Sebastian and Julian.  Romeo ranked #466 and Orlando #419.

Perhaps the best way to describe Alaric is from the title of one of my favorite user-created lists at Nameberry:  My Braver Alter-Ego Would Totally Use These.  The list groups Alaric with other gems like Horatio, Junia and Crispin – quirky and stylish, but just a bit less accessible than almost mainstream choices like Asher.

Alaric offers a few nicknames – Al, Rick and Aric are the obvious three.  If those don’t thrill you, proceed with caution.  While more and more parents use – and prefer that others use – their child’s full name, there’s no guarantee what will happen when your son hits middle school.  Or tuck Alaric in the middle spot, where he’d be a good substitute for Alexander.

Then again, what kid wouldn’t be delighted to learn that he was named after a barbarian king?

Visst är det härligt med sånna här halvdagar?! Man börjar halv nio och har två lektioner innan klockan är elva och det är lunch. Sen är dagen helt plötsligt slut! Skoldagen i alla fall. Nu ska jag strax gå ner till centrum och besöka bank nr 1 och bank nr 2. Jag måste sätta in pengar, betala räkning osv osv… Sen måste jag köpa ett frimärke också, blir nog Konsum för det…

Är  nog hemma kvart i två och då är det matte som gäller i x antal timmar. Mycket att ta igen, och jag måste fatta också! Och som jag lovade ska jag leta efter mobilen också. Min strategi blir nog följande:

1. Först ska jag ringa till sjukgymnasten och meddela honom att jag har fått tid för knäoperationen.
2. Sen ska jag räkna matte i 45 minuter minst!
3. Dags att leta fram den där fördömda mobilen kanske?
4. Matte i 45 minuter igen… Suck…
5. Vid det här laget kommer jag antagligen vara hungrig!

Sen är det kväll och jag får se om jag går ett varv runt sjön, skriver lite på boken, räkna ännu mer matte eller bara ta det lugnt…
Jag kanske skriver en låt förresten. Har två “teman”/titlar som jag är sugen på att förverkliga; “You Are My Romeo” och “Sink”. Sen tror jag att jag har ett par texter som är halvskrivna, vore kul att få klart dem också!

Nu måste jag sticka! Vill hinna ner och göra allt innan bussen går, och utan att behöva stressa!

Eh, uite ca am ajuns la unul dintre primii compozitori rusi de care m-am indragostit. Totusi este o problema – daca vrei sa-i intelegi muzica, trebuie sa fii un pic scrantit, dar din fericire eu posed aceasta calitate.

Prokofiev a activat ca pianist, compozitor si dirijor, fiind recunoscut drept unul dintre cei mai mari compozitori ai sec XX.

Prima piesa compusa fost la varsta de 5 ani, dar avea un lucru deosebit, pentru ca lui Prokofiev ii era frica de tastele negre ale pianului, melodia, desi compusa in Fa Major Lidian, in loc sa aiba Si b avea Si natural (for the music geeks ). De la varsta de 11 ani, a inceput sa ia lectii de pian de la Reinhold Gliere timp de 1 an intreg, insa desi Serghei il aprecia pe Gliere pentru calitatile sale academice, i-a reprosat faptul ca l-a invatat o muzica neinteresanta si teapana. Motiv pentru care a trebuit sa se dezvete de cele deprinse de-a lungul unui an intreg si a inceput sa compuna melodii cu multe disonante, semnaturi de timp variate si ciudate, creandu-si propriul stil.

Intotdeauna a fost privit ca un excentric si un rebel pentru muzica moderna, pe care o flutura in fata conservatorilor cu nonsalanta. Muzica sa avand numeroase aspecte moderniste si ermetice, a cauzat multe scandaluri, continand in principal structuri disonante si cromatice (n.r. – succesiunea notelor din semiton in semiton: Fa-Fa#-Sol-Sol#). De altminteri, la un concert de-al sau, sala s-a golit dupa primele 2 piese, spectatorii plangandu-se de “muzica futurista – oricine poate crea asa ceva”.

Prima compozitie pentru balet, numita “Chout”, a avut un succes rasunator, fiind foarte apreciata de Jean Cocteau, Igor Stravinsky si Maurice Ravel, ultimul spunand ca “aceasta este singura compozitie modernista pe care o pot asculta cu placere”.

Pentru ca se simtea limitat in Rusia si era de parerea ca oamenii nu pot intelege cu adevarat muzica experimentala, s-a hotarat sa plece in America. Ajuns in San Francisco, a avut parte de un succes rasunator ca pianist si compozitor, dar dupa fiasco-ul legat de opera “Iubirea pentru Trei Portocale” si lipsa banilor, s-a simtit nevoit sa plece la Paris, nevrand sa se intoarca cu esecul deasupra capului inapoi in Rusia. Stabilit in Franta, oamenii l-au primit cu bratele deschise, iar cu cat trecea timpul, cu atat crestea si apetitul spectatorilor pentru muzica modernista, trecand pragul neoclasicismului. 

Succesul sau a fost intr-atat de mare, incat s-a reintors in America si a inceput un turneu, dar dupa atata vreme, dorul de casa il apasa din ce in ce mai mult, astfel s-a reintors in Rusia, unde alaturi de Serghei Eisenstein, a compus muzica pentru filmul “Alexander Nevsky” (epic win!)

Fiind reintors in tara natala, i-a fost ceruta compunerea unor piese pentru slavirea lui Stalin, piese cunoscute sub numele de “Sonatele razboiului”. Acestea au fost interpretate atat de el, cat si de Svatioslav Richter si Emil Gilels in jurul anului 1943 (n.r. – pentru continuare vezi sectiunea Trivia din articol). Datorita regimului asupritor, multe dintre operele sale au fost cenzurate, iar directorii de teatre si opere i-au refuzat ofertele, temandu-se de posibilele consecinte.

Prokofiev a murit la varsta de 61 de ani, in aceeasi zi cu Iosif Stalin.

Acesta a ramas unul dintre cei mai mari compozitori si pianisti ai secolului XX, compozitiile sale fiind interpretate mai des decat oricare alt compozitor din ultimul secol.

Trivia:

- pentru ca moartea lui Prokofiev a survenit in aceeasi zi cu cea a lui Stalin, la inmormantarea sa au fost folosite flori de hartie, toate florile naturale fiind rezervate pentru inmormantarea dictatorului; de asemenea, corpul neinsufletist al artistului nu a putut fi dus la cimitir, datorita marii de oamenii ce impanzeau strazile, jelind moartea lui Stalin

- desi Sonata Nr. 7 a primit Premiul Stalin Gradul 2 si Sonata Nr. 8 a primit Premiul Stalin Gradul 1, aceste “Sonate ale razboiului” erau indreptate impotriva regimului stalinist (ironic, nu?)

- ultima interpretare publica a artistului a fost Simfonia a Saptea in 1952, dar muzica din spatele acestei opere fusese scrisa pentru o emisiune de copii

Dopo il Consiglio Comunale di Arcola, il consigliere di Rifondazione Comunista Salvatore Romeo coinvolge anche la Provincia sul problema dell’oscuramento TV in alcune zone del Comune di Arcola e comuni limitrofi.

Questo il senso dell’ordine del giorno (approvato alla unanimità) proposto dal consigliere arcolano Salvatore Romeo che ha chiesto e ottenuto dal consiglio provinciale l’impegno da parte della giunta e dell’assessore Donatella Ferrari in primo luogo a perseguire l’obiettivo di rendere visibile il segnale TV in ogni zona della provincia.

Tale esigenza nasce dall’importanza che ha oggi la televisione non solo sotto l’aspetto dell’intrattenimento ma anche per quanto riguarda l’informazione e il rapporto fra le Istituzioni e i cittadini. Della vicenda l’amministrazione provinciale intende coinvolgere ovviamente oltre la Rai regionale anche la Prefettura e la Regione Liguria.

Friday, November 13th will now and forever go down in the history books as a night of SUCCESS at Vanderbilt University. The Front Row Magic was in full effect, as it has been for four years of my college career. Ashley, Christine, Angelica, and myself (the originators), held it down to the fullest!

Our journey began Wednesday night of this same week. Many called us stupid for renting out a tent and going between shifts. I call those people jealous. I also call them haters. If they are neither of those two, then they just don’t matter!! It was worth every hour outside and most of all, we had one another to hold it down.

The Jay-Z phenomena continued into Friday evening, when most people began forming a line. Shout outs to the Fresh Fam, Posse 20 and the other Posses, and just everyone who showed that young man from Brooklyn (Jay-Z), so much love. We met Wale at the bookstore, who showed so much love, especially to the D.C. natives (shout outs to Laura, Emani, and their crew). Later on in the night, the madness began. Not only did Jay Z shut the shit down, J Cole, Wale, and Memphis Bleek assisted him in the most efficient ways.

I was absolutely disappointed that NERD was not with us, but the energy in the room was massive. I cannot explain to you how every single emotion in the room erupted into pure bliss when the backdrop was revealed and Jay Z surfaced from beneath the stage. It was theatrical; much like something out of Hollywood. The swag in the air was super saturated. I enjoyed every song. Jay Z took us on a journey through each of his albums, emphasizing the fact that they all went number 1, surpassing that of the great Elvis.

For those of you who didn’t go, sorry! It was something not to be missed. Even if you didn’t bang with Jay Z or his lyrics, you would have had an amazing time. Even if you were in the utmost back of the gym, Jay Z showed everyone love. It was timeless; it was priceless. 5 stars!

Ça fait déjà quelque temps que je pense à écrire un blogue. En fait, j’en ai déjà commencé quelques-uns, mais j’ai souvent perdu l’intérêt de poursuivre… Ce qui donne une série de « blogues à demi » qui se tiennent à peine et qui ne génère aucun commentaire!

Pourtant, suivant l’exemple de mon chien qui tente d’attraper une mouche à travers une vitre, je ne perds pas espoir et, surtout, je tente à nouveau!

J’ai été récemment élu à l’ACFO d’Ottawa, je travaille comme agent de projet à la Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française, et je fais partie du groupe FrancoQueer – Ottawa; je me dis qu’avec toutes ces interventions, je vais bien finir par trouver quelque chose à dire.
