With any new behavior you can use the food as a lure, but then you have to fade the lure. If your dog is offering roll overs, just say the word at the same time they’re doing it, mark it and treat it. [Coyhaique, Chile] [A todos nos gustaría tener un encantador de perros a la mano. Uno de los míos acaba de hacer un hoyo en el jardín, pese a la prohibición]. Lo leímos en Diario de Aysén:

Entrenador de Perros Busca Convertirlos en “Buenos Ciudadanos Caninos” en sólo cuatro semanas. Se trata de un programa de trabajo que apunta a modificar la conducta de estas mascotas –independiente de cual sea su raza- y convertirlo en un dócil y fiel compañero de casa.Modificar la conducta canina mediante técnicas especializadas de entrenamiento es la actividad que realizó en Coyhaique el adiestrador profesional canino, Gerardo Donoso del sitio www.educaperro.cl, quien desarrolló un trabajo con alrededor de 10 mascotas de diversas razas.
“Llevamos un mes de trabajo y es una capacitación que se está desarrollando en la zona, detectamos la necesidad de hacer educación en el tema canino en la región, ya que no hay especialistas en la zona y existía la inquietud de llevar esto a regiones”, expresó el experto.
El trabajo está enfocado en la educación y a generar un cambio de conducta y formar lo que se denomina “los buenos ciudadanos caninos” que conviven de manera apropiada al interior de la casa y que cumplen con ciertas reglas y normas, que poseen hábitos y que no constituyen una molestia dentro de la sociedad.
“Son perros que tienen un nivel de control suficiente para trabajar en la vía pública sin ningún problema y también poseen un nivel de educación y convivencia aceptable en casa”, expresó Gerardo Donoso.
Los primeros cursos comenzaron con alrededor de 10 personas, mientras que próximamente se espera impartir un tercer curso por dos meses de trabajo, en el que los propietarios de estas mascotas reciben capacitación teórica sobre la ciencia del manejo de un perro y capacitación práctica, esta última se desarrolla en una primera parte en ambientes sin distracción hasta llegar a espacios abiertos de alto movimiento como una plaza.

Una Cuestión de Vida y Edad
Razas como dogo argentino, akita inú, rottweiler, pastor alemán, golden retrievers y fox terrier, fueron los ejemplares que formaron parte de este curso, donde las dificultades que pueda haber al momento del entrenamiento pasa por la forma de vida que ha llevado el perro en la casa y la edad.
El proceso de capacitación de estas mascotas puede ser aplicado a partir de los dos meses en adelante, ya que esta instrucción se adapta a cada perro, dependiendo de sus condiciones, capacidades y manejo que tiene el guía.
“Son dos factores que van a influir en el resultado de esta capacitación pero que con un poco más de esfuerzo puede conseguir los mismos resultados que el resto. Puede que algún perro se demore algunas semanas más en conseguir algún objetivo, pero en general, los principios están diseñados para que cualquier perro los logre”, expresó el representante de www.educaperro.cl

“Todos los Perros Son Potencialmente Peligrosos”
Ante la discusión por la tenencia de razas “potencialmente peligrosas”, expresó que ha sido planteado el tema a los parlamentarios a fin de establecer si esto alude a perros que puedan provocar lesiones o que pueda ocasionar accidentes.
“Hoy en Chile todos los perros son potencialmente peligrosos y todos por naturaleza pueden morder, que no muerdan o que no hayan mordido, no significa que no lo vayan a hacer. Por tanto, si hay un nivel de peligrosidad en una mordida, va a depender de dónde, cómo y a quién muerdan, para que esa lesión afecte seria o menormente a una persona”, enfatizó el entrenador de perros.
En Coyhaique ha habido casos de personas que han sido atacadas por perros, por lo que a través de esta propuesta se busca inculcar entre las persona el tema de la educación canina, iniciativa que se pretende extender al resto de la ciudadanía y las empresas, expresó Marco Saldivia, encargado de este trabajo en la capital regional.
El año 2002 fue una fecha en que la raza rottweiler estuvo en la noticia, debido a las denuncias por mordeduras. Un estudio reveló que sólo se registraron 14 casos de mordidas al año ocasionadas por estos perros. Sólo en Santiago existen 25 mil mordidas al año, mientras que los ataques perpetrados por esta raza alcanzó a menos de un uno por ciento.

“El Rottweiler Es un Perro Especial”
“Hoy la gente piensa que el rottweiler es un perro asesino, cosa que no es así. Es un perro especial que necesita de un manejo especial pero que no tiene mayores problemas si se maneja de forma adecuada (…). En España por ejemplo hubo dos casos de niños que fueron mordidos y muertos por un cocker, y el cocker no aparece como perro potencialmente peligroso”, añadió Donoso, en su defensa hacia estos animales.
Una tercera visita a la región se efectuará entre la segunda o tercera semana del mes de diciembre. [Rosario, Argentina] [Se exigirá correa corta para razas peligrosas y bozal para perros con antecedentes agresivos]. Lo leímos en Página 12:

Perros con Microchip. Lo aprobó el concejo. Desde la semana próxima, en Rosario, todos los perros deberán tener colocado un microchip subcutáneo, para las razas peligrosas será obligatorio el uso de correa corta, mientras que el bozal será exigido a aquellos canes que tuvieran antecedentes de ataques. Quienes saquen a pasear a sus mascotas y no recojan sus deposiciones serán sancionados con una multa que irá de los 150 a los 450 pesos. Son los aspectos más relevantes de la nueva regulación para la tenencia responsable de perros que aprobó ayer por amplia mayoría el Concejo Municipal.
Será obligatorio el uso de correa corta en las siguientes razas de animales: Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileño; Rosa Inu, Akita Inu, y sus mestizos. El uso del bozal sólo tendrá carácter de recomendación. Su uso será obligatorio en los casos que existieren antecedentes de ataques a otros animales o personas.
En el ámbito del IMUSA se creará el Registro Unico de Mascotas en el cual deberán estar inscriptos los canes. La identificación se hará mediante la utilización del sistema electrónico de microchip a colocarse en forma subcutánea, sin anestesia ni ninguna otra preparación, de modo de posibilitarse su posterior lectura externa mediante lectora, cargándose los datos del can como del propietario. El costo del chip es de 3 euros. El IMUSA tendrá a su cargo y sin costo, la registración de los canes en los casos que hubieren sufrido accidentes en la vía pública y se les preste atención en sus dependencias, a los que se ofrezcan en adopción y los comunitarios.
“Los propietarios de todos los perros tendrán seis meses de plazo voluntario para colocar el chip, después entrarán a regir las sanciones de acuerdo a la reglamentación que se haga”, explicó a Rosario/12 uno de los impulsores de la ordenanza, el concejal socialista Aldo Gómez.
Los dueños de los canes deberán firmar una declaración jurada en la que deberán dejar constancia: a) si se ha realizado adiestramiento, indicando la tipología sea de defensa, ataque, guardia, caza, salvataje o cualesquiera otra; b) constancias expedidas por médicos veterinarios que en su caso informen sobre la conducta, c) antecedentes de ataques a otros animales, familiares o terceros.
El Imusa entregará al propietario una tarjeta identificatoria con sus datos, los de su can y código del microchip la que deberá portar siempre que el animal esté en la vía pública. Las infracciones leves serán sancionadas con multas que van desde $150 a $450; las graves desde $ 451 hasta $800 y las gravísimas desde $ 801 a $1500.

Igår sminkade jag min andra modell till Angelika Sliwinskis andra fotoshoot, som jag kommer att publicera här nästa vecka när jag fått bilderna.
Denna sessionen jag lägger ut nu ägde rum, den 31 oktober “Halloween”, i en park i Malmö. Temat skulle vara lite vampyr. Inte en självklar vampyr men så att man undrar som betraktare; Är hon vampyr eller inte?
Det var mitt första frilansjobb som jag fått efter att jag blivit diplomerad makeup artist. Jag träffade Angelika, fotografen, på en konsert någon dag efter att jag blivit diplomerad… Så det är på den vägen. Jag var på rätt plats vid rätt tillfälle med rätt makeup på
Det var/är himla roligt att jobba med Angelika! Hon är en väldigt begåvad underklädesfotograf som jobbar mycket med att få fram en sensuell känsla i hennes bilder.
Modellen, Alex, sminkade jag i underklädesbutiken La Leia i Malmö – underkläderna hon har på sig är även från den butiken. Basen jag använde på henne var något ljusare än hennes egna hudton, för att få fram den “äkta” vampyr-looken. Men ändå inte så ljus att det såg konstigt ut med tonen på halsen. Jag använde mig utav svart, brun och rödvioletta skuggor som jag tonade in i varandra. Jag använde en grå/violett skugga som shading – ville akta mig från för röda, rosa, bruna och beiga färger. Tror inte en vampyr passar så bra i solpuder, eller vad säger du?
Läpparna fyllde jag i med en svart penna som jag senare tonade ut med en rött stift – blev en väldigt snygg övergång mellan det svarta och det röda! Som en finish touch applicerade jag ett rött glans i klumpar på ovansidan av underläppen – lite blod-look, samtidigt som det blir lite tredimensionellt.
Alex var så duktig och levde sig verkligen in i sin roll och lyckades även fälla riktiga tårar på vissa foton.

Bilderna med rottweilern var lite kul… Det var en dam som kom fram och tyckte att sessionen såg så intressant ut och frågade om vi hade någon användning utav hennes hund – bara så där. Kul tycker jag Bilderna blev jättebra och jag börjar få ihop ett litet portfolio nu

So you are planning a two-week visit to your mom’s house this winter and she has welcomed you to bring your pet for the visit? Great! Mom lives 5 hours away, a no-sweat trip for most, and your family is all excited for it. Your 6-year-old son can’t wait to sink his original baby teeth into Grandma Betsy’s world-famous chocolate chip cookies, yum!

But what about Peaches, your 3-year-old rottweiler? This is your first long trip with him coming along and you are worried about how to go about the whole process. Well, let us help get you, your family, and Peaches allready for the excursion.

• Some folks might say consult your vet before taking your pet on a trip. I’d just say make sure that you remember to take along plenty of pet food.  What you don’t want to happen is that you get 3 hours down the road and realize you forgot to feed the pooch and, moreover, you forgot to bring a bag of his/her food.  I remember we took our beagle, Mittens, on a 7 hour trip across Iowa when I was a kid and my folks forgot to bring the dog food.  Dad made the mistake of stopping at McDonald’s and bought a cheeseburger for Mittens.  About thirty miles after that, dad pulled over to clean dog vomit off of the back seat carpet.  That was before the invention of Fabreeze, and it made the rest of the trip very pleasant (not!) on our noses.
• Also bring along a good stock of any medication that your pet might take. It’s a good idea to bring along some of the more common medications, including flea and tick control as well as heartworm medicine.
• Take along important documentation, including: license numbers, tattoo numbers, microchip numbers and vaccination records.  It’s best to be prepared for anything.
• You might take along a kennel or carrier for your dog to ride in on the trip. Some vehicles, especially SUV’s, have a “dog fence” you can put in the cargo area (see picture to right). Whatever you go with, be sure that you can protect your pet and keep him/her under control when needed.  My sister takes her current Beagle wherever she goes and transports him in his kennel that sits in the back of their van.
• If you’re planning to stay in a hotel, call ahead to make sure that the town that you’re planning on stopping in overnight has a hotel that takes dogs — many don’t and you don’t want to be stuck driving around Po-Dunk, Nowhere at 11pm looking for a hotel that’ll lodge you and your four-legged friend.
   
• Say bacon-cheese-burger! Take a picture of your pet before you go and print it out in case Fido runs away. An up-to-date photo will help you describe him to others.

There you have it, you should be ready to go! Gotta love the holidays, gotta love it even more when everyone you love, including your pets get to share it together. Cuenta la leyenda de la fundación de Roma que los bebés Rómulo y Remo, abandonados por su madre, Rea Silvia, fueron alimentados en el bosque por la loba Luperca. Claro, esa historia escondía una simbología y no puede comprobarse que haya sido cierta.

Increíblemente, en la actualidad ocurre una historia que lejos de ser una leyenda es bien real, aunque al revés: una mujer alimenta a dos cachorritos de Rottweiler que fueron “abandonados por su madre”.
“Son cría de una perra que tenemos que los rechazó.No sabemos por qué, algunos dicen que es porque es primeriza y no los sabe cuidar. Los dos cachorritos se quedaron sin alimento y se iban muriendo de hambre. Cuando ves una situación así te jugás con todo”, aseguró Ángel Ciavatelli a Crónica TV.

Su mujer, Andrea Rivas, la “madre adoptiva” de los dos perritos aseguró: “No me da impresión, me da ternura”. Ambos fueron padres hace pocos meses de Cristian, aunque ahora coincidieron en que tienen “trillizos”, en referencia a su hijo y los dos cachorritos, a los que llamaron León y Gauchita.

“Una mamadera con leche de vaca no es lo mismo, porque ellos necesitan una leche y un cariño de mamá. Cuando los pusimos se adaptaron enseguida. Habíamos tratado de alimentarlos con una jeringa, pero se ahogaban”, sostuvo Ciavatelli.

“Ella se puso mal no quería ver morir perritos. Nos jugamos el todo por el todo, a pesar de que varios veterinarios nos decían que le puede hacer mal. Y ella le dijo no, qué le va a hacer mal si le estoy dando la teta, les estoy dando vida”, agregó el hombre, que además detalló que tienen ocho perros.

Ciavatelli relató que tienen problemas para cuidar a los animales, porque en este momento están en un local y temen que los desalojen para edificar en ese lugar. “No sabemos qué va a pasar con los perros y nosotros. Me ofrecieron un departamento, pero sin los perros”, afirmó y dijo que estaban buscan “un terreno, para pagar en cuotas”.

Barbara Wagner always loved a good fondue. Dried meats, toasted breads, succulent chunks of pork, slices of roast duck: she enjoyed dipping things. Taking foodstuffs in her pudgy fingers, she would renew them in a  baptism of melted cheese, cackle wildly as they emerged, and set them aside to cool. She would arrange them in a pyramid, cube or some other madly popular shape, going for the aesthetic affect of a towering establishment of curdled milk, referred to it quietly as her nativity scene of deliciousness. Seeing as how she never had guests, the creations would often get eaten by her rottweiler puppy, Turner, who in turn suffered from loathsome bouts of eye-watering gas.

Her holidays were often marked by the silence of lonely years now normalized. The coffee pot more often than not could be heard hissing its woebegone cries from the innards of the lime-green kitchen. The subtle humming of the small burner under the earthenware pot of melted cheese was like the respiration of a baby, the stalwart humming of a carpenter, the calming presence of the silent elder. It’s reverberations imbued every object in the house with a sense of pastoral continuity, grassy highlands on roaming hills, endless sighs of relief in the open lands of forever.

She dipped with fervent regard for the task at hand, practicing metallurgy with product of moo. The downward dipping motion, curled fingers backwards towards her palm, the extended index finger and thumb, the light grip touching the object to the melted mass, the release and the sigh of relief. It was in, it had been placed mindfully, it would remain for two minutes, no more, no less, soak up the milky characteristics and mix them with its own. Then the quick movements to the tray of pronged fondue forks on the right, picking up just the right one that speaks and says, “It is my turn. I am ready to dive in, to prong. I am ready to live.” The gleam of the polished silver, the ebony handle tight within her grip, she sails it downwards into the murky waters below, fishes the food item out with a perfected hooking motion, gasps every time it emerges anew. “You are beautiful,” she tells it. “You have started the day as a piece of salami and now, you are a work of art. Bravo, dear marbled sausage!” She would place it carefully amongst other dipped items, lean back in her worn, oak rocking chair and smile at a job well done.

“To fondue,” she would think to herself, “is an act of God.”

E dai! Volevate mica che Mangrovie accettava l’esito del referendum così, senza commento alcuno?

Sinceramente ci stavo quasi riuscendo, mi ero quasi decisa a pubblicare finalmente il post su Rocco, ovviamente un post hard, ma poi le odierne vicende mattutine mi hanno fatto cambiare idea in modo repentino.

E ora dico la mia!

Insomma, stamattina passavo nelle vicinanze di piazza Walter quando sento quella cantilena marziale che indica un movimento di truppa – suono che mi ha in qualche modo sempre inquietato ma che negli ultimi anni mi fa addirittura rabbrividire.

Insomma, sento una voce che impartisce ordini, un rumore di anfibi in marcia, odo partire la fanfara e subito dopo cantare:

Ora che il referendum è sorpassato, bocciato proprio per colpa dell’italica astensione – dovuta, così dicono, alle parole del Landeshauptmann Durnwalder (azzeccattissimo il nomignolo “Rottweiler” affibbiatogli da Beppe Grillo durante il suo discorso la sera antecedente il referendum) che in un improvviso impeto di affetto nei loro confronti svelava loro che un’eventuale vincita del SI avrebbe messo in ginocchio la loro esistenza nonché identità?

Una grossa fetta dei cittadini di madrelingua italiana di questa provincia, coloro che per 364 giorni all’anno si lamentano che si sentono cittadini di serie B, stranieri in terra natale, svantaggiati, inascoltati, repressi, e chissà cos’altro – e tutto ciò grazie al partito di maggioranza nostrano, l’SVP appunto, che regna sovrana – il giorno prima del referendum ha miracolosamente creduto alle parole di colui che gli altri giorno dell’anno è colpevole di tutti i loro guai ed il giorno del referendum non si è presentata alle urne.

Per poi poter riprendere a piangere il giorno dopo, perché qui comandano i tedeschi, decidono loro, spendono i soldi di Roma come cavolo piace loro, bla bla bla.

Bè, cari italiani, vi parlo dalla mia terra di mezzo, come sapete sono un potpourri linguistico e perciò non mi si può accusare di razzismo quando dico:

Cazzi vostri, se proprio volevate destarvi avete perso il treno, continuate a dormire.

La democrazia resterà una parola che si, abbiamo sentito nominare ma no, non sappiamo applicarla.

I think I finally have this Random Thoughts posting figured out, y’all. What I have to do to make this happen is to keep a little list in a notebook of things that pop into my mind the day before. Because I cannot come up with a bunch of random thoughts first thing on a Tuesday morning. I’ve tried it and it can’t be done.

So yesterday, when I dreamed up this little plan, I got my notebook out and turned it to a blank page, ready to fill it up with all sorts of randomness.

There was only one problem. I could not find a pen.

Which leads me to my first question.

1. How many pens do you have to buy -  to be able to have just one somewhere, anywhere, when you need one?

I have bought package after package of pens. I don’t think it matters how many you buy and put in your junk drawer, they are going to disappear. I think there is a black hole in my house that sucks pens into it when I’m not looking.

Which leads me to my second question.

2. Do y’all think it is possible that there is a cosmic black hole (or something) located directly over my house in Wilmington, North Carolina?

Seriously, have I missed the YouTube video about this? I swear there is something wrong down here, because I cannot…CANNOT…talk on a cell phone inside my house!

I used to think it was the crappy phone and/or the crappy service I used to have. So. I waited patiently for my two year contract to expire, all the while enduring calls that sounded like this : “Mom? Hi……when….so…..then…..she said…..and….before…..what was…..yesterday……important…..what do you think?”

So I’d say, “Klinton, you’re breaking up. I can’t hear you. Hold on. Let me try going outside.”

To which he’d say, “Mom? Are you there? Mom?”

Then I’d hear that joyful little electronic jingle that tells me the phone has dropped the call.

Not fun. So it’s two years later and now I have a much nicer phone with a cool little slide out QWERTY keyboard and everything. I have Verizon service now, which is supposed to be top notch, or at least way better than what I had before.

I was so excited. Now I could text! I could talk inside the house and not have to stand outside in the cold, and the rain, and the dark.

But nooooooooo. I guess I just need to learn morse code or something. It is not meant for me, in 21st century America, to be able to use an easy electronic devise like a cell phone in my own home.

The phone works inside the Corning factory, where I work. (I never even got a signal there on my old phone.)  It worked in the rural contryside of Upstate New York, with no problem. It worked at the airport, in the grocery store, in the car, at the hairdressers, at other people’s homes…..just not in mine.

So, see? I obviously live directly underneath a black hole.

Yesterday, while I was searching in vain for a pen, I noticed something. So here’s my third and final question.

3. Is it normal for animals to follow you around all day and look at you when you get a day off?

Because that’s all mine do, y’all. My rottweiler and my cat follow me from room to room while I gather laundry, put things away, look for pens, curse mutter under my breath because I can’t find one, fix a cup of coffee, toast a bagel, read the newspaper, sit at the computer, brush my teeth, or whatever….they follow and they stare.

They stare at me as if they don’t know who I am. They stare at me as if they expect me to do some kind of puppet show to amuse them. They stare at me accusingly, as if to say, “Geez, we waited all week for you to have a day off – FOR THIS??”

I eventually got tired of looking for a pen, while the damn animals tried to give me a guilt trip, and gave up. Anyway, I had forgotten what I wanted to write down by then. So if I can find a pen between now and next Tuesday, maybe I’ll be able to compose a nice list of random stuff.

Or, I might not.

Investigan Peleas Ilegales de Perros en Concepción. Fiscalía y la PDI buscan a hombres que recogen perros vagos para hacerlos pelear con canes de las razas pitbull y rottweiler.La fiscalía de Concepción junto a personal de la Brigada de Delitos Medioambientales de la PDI investigan un eventual circuito de peleas clandestinas de perros en los faldeos  del cerro La Pólvora de esta ciudad.
El hecho quedó al descubierto luego que vecinos del sector encontraran los restos quemados de un perro de gran tamaño, al cual se le habían amarrado sus patas y que presentaba además, signos de haber participado en una pelea contra un can de grandes dimensiones.
La fiscal Ana María Aldana señaló que uno de los puntos clave de la investigación es determinar la participación de un grupo de personas, quienes se dedicaban a buscar perros vagos para hacerlos combatir con canes de las razas pitbull y rottweiler.
Otra de las aristas de la investigación, junto con localizar a los autores de este maltrato animal, es determinar si en estas peleas habían apuestas ilegales. Los responsables de estos hechos arriesgan penas de cárcel que van desde los 61 días hasta los 3 años de condena.

En pojke blir svårt hundbiten efter att ha rastat en rottweiler tillsammans med sin kompis, jag vet inte om hunden var den bitne pojkens eller kompisens hund. Mathias tycker man ska införa strängt licenskrav för farliga hundar, Garry tycker alla hundar ska ha munkorg när dom är ute, Naken påfågel tycker man ska förbjuda hundar överhuvudtaget, Grevad Lux känner att h*n börjar bli hundhatare. Alla dessa ser bara till att det är hunden som är tokig, att det är rasen det är fel på, men ingen av dom har funderat på varför de vuxna hundägarna släpper ut två barn med en hund som sannolikt väger betydligt mer än dom, en hund som dom alltså inte ens orkar hålla om den känner för att dra iväg.

Det finns inte en chans i helvetet att jag skulle släppa ut  mitt barn med en hund av den storleken, oavsett om den är världens snällaste och lydigaste. Det är så oansvarigt att det finns inte ord. Det har varit ungar i 7-8 års åldern som frågat om dom får gå ut med min hund Tony men jag har nekat trots hans ynka 5 kilo. Detta har jag gjort för att dom kan möta andra med hundelaka hundar tex, och ungen kan då hamna mitt i ett hundslagsmål.Beuty of mind beskriver det jag tycker på ett bra sätt, Zorros sida likaså fast om än i en kortare variant.
