Finding happiness that she is currently single, Kelly admits she is in no rush to get married as she believes “everybody’s time is different”.

Kelly Rowland is one of the founding members of all-girl group Destiny’s Child. It was reported last month that after leaving her recording company Columbia Records in March this year, she has been working on a new deal with EMI Music. A deal is yet to be sealed between both parties though.

Rap-Up:Kelly Rowland has been in and out of the studio prepping her first album since parting ways with Columbia Records and Mathew Knowles’ Music World Entertainment earlier this year. One of today’s most sought-after hitmakers, Rico Love, spoke to Rap-Up.com about his involvement with the Destiny’s Child alum’s third solo album.

“I’m actually going to be doing the majority of her record,” reveals the songwriter behind Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams” and Mario’s “Thinkin’ About You.” “I did three records for her album so far and she’s touring right now.”

The host of Bravo’s “The Fashion Show” won’t have much downtime during her holiday vacation as there are plans to complete the follow-up to 2007’s Ms. Kelly by January. “I believe we’re going to finish the album over the Christmas break,” says Love, whose latest work includes Leighton Meester’s first single “Somebody to Love” featuring Robin Thicke.

Rowland is reportedly close to finalizing a new deal with EMI Music, home to David Guetta, LeToya Luckett, and Snoop Dogg, but an official announcement has yet to be made. “I believe she’s doing her deal right now. She’s in the process of closing a pretty big deal. I don’t think she’s going to say yet. She’s got the No. 1 song in the world with David Guetta, ‘When Love Takes Over.’”

Her latest gig comes in the form of playing 50 Cent’s love interest in the video for “Baby by Me” off the rapper’s new album Before I Self Destruct.

When I wrote my historical romance novel Through the Fire I felt as though I’d been through the flames. My hero and heroine certainly had. This adventure romance with a strong The Last of the Mohicans flavor and a mystical weave was born in the fertile ground of my imagination, fed by years of research and a powerful draw to my colonial roots.

My fascination with stirring tales of the colonial frontier and Eastern Woodland Indians is an early and abiding one. My English/Scot-Irish ancestors were among the first settlers of the Shenandoah Valley and had family members killed and captured by the Indians. Some individuals returned and left intriguing accounts of their captivity, while others disappeared without a trace. On the Houston/Rowland side of the family, I have ties to Governor Sam Houston, President James Madison and Malcolm 1st of Scotland (that last one’s a stretch).

Family annals list early names like Beale, Jordan, Madison, and Hite (a German connection I discovered). A brief account of my grandmother (six times removed) Elizabeth Hite, says her sister Eleanor was taken captive and sister Susan killed, though not by which tribe. Their brother Jacob was killed by the Cherokee.

Another ancestor, Mary Moore, is the subject of a book entitled The Captives of Abb’s Valley. A Moffett forebear captured as a child became a boyhood companion of the revered Shawnee Chief Tecumseh. When young Moffett grew up, he married into the tribe and had a son, but that’s the subject of a different novel. A Pennsylvanian ancestor on the Churchman side of the family was invited by the Shawnee/Delaware to help negotiate a treaty with the English because he was Quaker and they were more sympathetic to the plight of the Indians.

Many accounts are left unrecorded, though. Historian Joseph Waddell says we know only a fraction of the drama that occurred during the Indian Wars. I invite you back to a time long forgotten by most.

Rebecca left Philadelphia a widow, courtesy of the French and Indian War, to seek a beloved uncle in the colonial frontier. She has unwittingly entered a dangerous world of rugged mountains, wild animals, and even wilder men. The rules are different here and she doesn’t know them.

Shoka is the hawk, swift and sure, and silent as the moon. He knows all about survival in this untamed land and how deadly distraction can be. He makes Rebecca his prisoner, but the last thing he wants is to lose his head and already shredded heart to another impossibly beautiful woman…this one with blindingly blue eyes and a blistering temper.

Rebecca wants Shoka to guide her to Fort Warden where her uncle and cousins may be sheltering. Shoka wants to sell this furious Englishwoman to a Frenchman before she draws him under her spell, but if he lets her go he can no longer protect her. If he holds onto her can he safeguard his heart?

Rebecca is torn between a growing attraction to her magnetic captor and loyalty to her people. With dark forces gathering against them, will Rebecca and Shoka fight together or be destroyed?

Michelle Williams has just informed the world that Destiny’s Child are set to reunite for 2010. This is not because Beyonce misses the good old days of pulling Kelly Rowland’s hair out. It’s due to the fact that they are contractually obliged to put out another offering with Sony. There destiny, apparently, was not fulfilled. Beyonce has to slave back to the studio with those two girls and do an album.

We are not too sure if Kelly is up for that. She parted ways with Papa Knowles just a couple of months ago. But, she also is without work now. So she might jump on her last chance to make some moola. And of course Michelle will be there. Now Beyonce will probably be all busy for it. Expect the album to have one big hit dance number and then a bunch of rushed fillers so that “the women of the year” can get back and do another album with lackluster single that the media will shove down our throats.

LeToya Luckett surprised everyone when her debut album LeToya debuted at the top spot in the US charts. So much so that the wait for the second album intensified due to the speculation that she might ring up another number one, a feat that Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Solange Knowles wish for. So, her second album Lady Love has come out this week and the numbers are looking grim.

The album looks like it shifted half what the first album did. Only 25,000 to 30,000 copies for the first week. Moreover, the album will not only get the top spot, but, it will also not get into the top five. This is not to say that the album is not good, it’s actually better than the other one.

The two singles were solid: “She Ain’t Got Shit On Me” and “Not Anymore.” There are other tracks on the album that can very well be singles like “Regret” and “Drained,” which has a swift video-game beat to it.

We hope it gets more airplay and downloads because it’s a good album. And someone needs to scare the “women of the year” Beyonce.

I have always said since day 1. We all know how great and legendary Beyonce is, but when it comes to Destiny’s Child my favorite has always been kelly.. I have been in love with K Row ever since the Bills Bills Bills video and now a days seeing her crush these chicks on a daily basis on the blogs is ever so enjoying to me.. Not only do scorpios love aquarious  haaa but her smile is unchallenged and mesmerizing. She has that “it” factor that a lot of artist do not possess. i watch the “fashion show “only because of her lol. I also hope to see her in much more films come 2010 and beyond. I think MsKelly is about to truly take over in 10..

Una recente pubblicazione del 2007 di Dyson e Rowland, il primo professore a Buffalo e il secondo a New Orleans, mi ha incuriosito un pò di tempo fa, soprattutto per il suo titolo così omnicomprensivo e pretenzioso, oltreché che ottimo dal punto di vista commerciale: Sheperds, Sailors & Conquerors. Archaeology and History in Sardinia from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. Ho pensato che valesse la pena se non altro dare un’occhiata.

Ebbene, la pubblicazione come era da aspettarsi ha un taglio abbastanza divulgativo e molto storico, anche se con vari riferimenti al mondo archeologico in senso stretto. La ricostruzione della preistoria dell’isola è abbastanza carente, è evidente che gli autori si sono serviti di dati in buona parte ormai abbastanza vecchi e di ipotesi interpretative superate e non sono andati a fondo nelle questioni più importanti, ma il loro intento principale non era certo quello. Essi volevano cercare di sottolineare un carattere fondamentale della storia sarda – appunto, dall’età della pietra al medioevo – che nel lavoro archeologico, per una tradizione ormai consolidata, spesso non viene considerato nel suo valore effettivo: quello della continuità culturale, e dell’osmosi progressiva della civiltà dell’isola con quelle che con essa venivano a contatto. Un carattere che per un archeologo rappresenta – o dovrebbe rappresentare – una fonte di stimolo scientifico enorme, viste le risorse presenti per il suo lavoro sull’isola.

Giovanni Lilliu ha imposto all’archeologia sarda degli ultimi 50 anni una visione oltremodo antagonistica, nei rapporti fra “noi” e “gli altri”, facendo apparire “l’arrivo dei fenici” come un momento in cui nelle coste dell’isola avveniva un taglio netto, e una nuova civiltà si impiantava dal nulla scacciando i vecchi occupanti. Oggi simili visioni sono da ritenersi sicuramente superate ma permane una separazione netta, metodologica e teorica, tra specialisti del periodo fenicio punico e di quello nuragico, con poche eccezioni (come ad esempio i lavori sul Sinis di A.Stiglitz e G.Tore). Questo è causa di una visione in parte distorta secondo gli autori americani, e concordo pienamente, che non mostra appieno quello che fu il vero dinamismo delle popolazioni dell’età del ferro nell’isola, in cui il fermento culturale era già da vari secoli vivo e vegeto. Gli insediamenti fenici sulle coste nella loro visione rappresentavano il primo vero link permanente con il vasto mondo mediterraneo su una base molto più regolare rispetto al passato, e su questa base la ancora vivace società indigena poté esprimersi con nuovi fermenti culturali. L’intenzione di focalizzare l’attenzione su quella che era la reazione agli stimoli culturali è molto interessante: non vedere le cose nei termini di un “attacco” più o meno militare o economico, ma di una compenetrazione successiva delle popolazioni dell’isola nel nuovo network mediterraneo dell’età del ferro.

Un network che poi si sviluppa, seguendo in un fluido svolgimento storico, nei secoli successivi, dove da una parte ritroviamo nelle sue vicende propriamente politiche una Sardegna resistente (a Roma ad esempio, o alle incursioni arabe) e che afferma in un certo qual modo una sua identità, da un altro lato vediamo invece una cultura in evoluzione, che accoglie gli stimoli mediterranei del mondo punico prima, romano poi, e li trasforma, li rielabora strutturandoli all’interno del suo mondo. E’ all’interno di questo discorso che vanno inseriti ad esempio i riutilizzi dei nuraghi nelle varie epoche, mai veramente studiati e visti nella loro continuità e nel loro insieme; e’ in questo contesto che va visto il processo storico di cristianizzazione dell’isola, così legato nella visione “resistenziale” agli ultimi sopravvissuti della cultura “originale” sarda rimasta intatta durante i secoli della “dominazione straniera”.
