The Rutgers Scarlet Knights Football team is the oldest college football team in the nation, having the played the first official intercollegiate football game against Princeton in 1869. NCAA Division I Rutgers was an independent team for 122 years until 1991, then joining the Big East.

In 2005 Rutgers achieved a winning season for the first time in 13 long years. The last three years have also been winning seasons for the Scarlet Knights under New Jersey native head coach Greg Schiano, including their first ever post-season win- beating Kansas State in the Texas Bowl.

The original Rutgers Stadium was completed in 1938 and the team played there until 1992. 1994 saw the new stadium built upon the old grounds, and currently houses the football team as well as NCAA soccer and Lacrosse games. In 2008 the stadium underwent an expansion- upping seating capacity to 52,454. The last four years have seen a significant rise in attendance, mainly due to the recent success of the team.

Na sexta feira, depois de algumas cervejas eu dormi. Pela manhã tive a sensação que dormia como se sonhasse estar acordado, de fato, acordei como se sonhasse que dormia. E estava muito cedo! Ótimo, levantei e já comecei a arrumar minhas malas, coloquei um som torando enquanto ajeitava tudo.

Esse era o dia em que eu ia pra São Paulo, correr atrás de meus planos mirabolantes, jogar numa loteria feroz. Fazia mais de uma semana que eu estava planejando esta viagem, fui deixando tudo agilizado pra não haver contratempos.

Liguei então pra um amigo pra ele ir comer no RU com a gente, como já era combinado, pois ia rolar uma feijoada – que pelo sabor, só pode ser de outro lugar, menos do RU. Antes de ir para lá fui pagar umas contas e comprar uns calmantes.

No fino restaurante, encontrei meus amigos. Eles tinham uma sacola, com alguma coisa dentro que eu não sabia o que era. Depois que entramos e sentamos eis a revelação: não só havia guardanapos, mas também uma travessa de alface americana, para meu deleite. Saí em transe de tanta comida e tantas risadas.

Subi pro inglês e me ocupei quase a tarde toda com os quizes, tive um sossego no final pois eu e a teacher ficamos trocando poemas no lab. Eu estava muito animado com a viagem que ia fazer a noite, pois significava uma oportunidade de ouro pra meus planos de vida colossais.

A hora H se aproximava cada vez mais. Subi e fui terminando de arrumar minhas malas, com toda paciência que me foi possível. Tudo estava dentro dos conformes. Já era quase dez horas quando fui ligar pro táxi.

Bem nessa hora, minha mãe me ligou. Falei rapidamente com ela, que estava tão ansiosa quanto eu. Falei que ia desligar, pois precisava chamar o táxi. Liguei para um, finalmente, mas ele não poderia vir, pois tinha que levar três pessoas numa festa na chácara… Circe ou Mirna, sei lá.

Fui ligar então pra outro táxi . Meu pai me ligou bem na hora. Fui conciso, estava começando a ficar preocupado o horário! Como eu já tinha falado com a família toda, liguei para outro táxi. E eu já estava em cima da hora. A educada atendente disse que não poderia mandar o táxi em cinco minutos. Insisti com ela, explicando que eu já estava atrasado. Com algum esforço ela me prometeu que ele chegaria em até dez minutos – eu não tinha outra opção.

Desci e fiquei na portaria esperando. Cinco minutos e nada. Dez minutos, senti um calafrio, pois já perdi ônibus uma vez e foi terrível. Liguei para o tal táxi e a atendente disse que ele já devia ter chegado. Isso me assustou, será que o taxista tinha se perdido ou o carro tinha quebrado? Tentei me acalmar, o que ficava cada vez mais difícil. Esperei mais três minutos. Liguei devolta, mas a moça insistia em querer me acalmar enquanto eu via a iminência de não conseguir viajar! Faltava só 10 minutos pro ônibus sair.

De repente surgiu um táxi. Nem perguntei nada, fui entrando e disse:

-         PRA RODOVIÁRIA, SENTA O PÉ!

Ontem, eu finalmente me vi livre do meu TCC (por ora). Foi uma correria só. Aliás, ontem foi uma correria por outros motivos também. Sobe e desce de escadas correndo atrás da papelada (tinha que preencher um formulário por causa da banca).

Não consegui falar com uma profa. que seria da minha banca. Ela é da pedagogia e eu nem a conheço. Não sei se é bom ter uma pessoa que nunca me viu lá. Acontece que, aparentemente, tem que obrigatoriamente ter uma pessoa externa ao curso na banca. Entonces…

Enfim, nem sei como vai ficar! Hoje de manhã teve reunião sobre isso, nem sei o que pegou. Minha orientadora ainda não me disse nada. Eu queria muito que minha outra orientadora estivesse na banca (até para me defender, já que ela é da área da educação), mas ela vai sair de férias e viajar (inveja, rsrsrsrs).

Depois de todo o corre-corre, era momento de jogo. Intercursos! Ueeeba!

Acontece que a fome apertou, então fomos comer e não vimos o jogo, rsrsrsrsrs. E sabe como é, né? A gente não está mais almoçando no RU, então, nas pouquíssimas vezes (duas até agora), a gente acaba ficando a maior cara lá (o que não é nenhuma novidade, fazíamos isso mesmo quando almoçávamos todo dia, rsrsrsrs).

No fim, foram dois jogos, hand masculino e feminino. Vimos uma parte do masculino, que contava com toda a rivalidade dos cursos. Nós ganhamos, claro (aliás, finalmente, porque nossos times masculinos são meio ruins)! E no fim, também soltamos fogos e fizemos um “auê” porque três cursos se formam este ano.

Cheguei estrupiada e cansada em casa, num sol de rachar qualquer cocoruto, e nem tive tempo de tomar um banho e já fui para o alemão. Estava cansadíssima.

Não pude nem ir na última festa da minha sala, uma chopada, porque hoje tinha que correr atrás de uma papelada para fazer uma inscrição hoje (último dia, como todo e qualquer bom brasileiro. Mas eu tenho meus motivos, rsrsrsrs). E como todo funcionário público é extremamente educado, já viu, né? Devo ter um saco de ouro porque não foi fácil…

Se bem que eu deixo um beijo e um abraço para a moça que me atendeu hoje e foi super simpática e prestativa. Coisa raríssima de se achar em qualquer funcionário público. Um pouco de boa vontade não faz mal a ninguém. Fikadika.

Agora, estou de bobeira em casa. Vou assistir jogo de vôlei mais tarde e retomar minha leitura do Lua Nova. Engraçado… a impressão que eu tenho é de ter alguma coisa pra fazer ou de que está sobrando tempo nas minhas mãos. É estranho, rsrsrsrsrs.

Сумма, которую ты готов истратить (бюджет), должна быть реалистичной – не слишком высокой, но и не заниженной. Предлагая уплатить более высокую цену, ты, возможно, истратишь больше средств.

Но когда сумма занижена, твой запрос становится менее привлекательным для продавцов и ты можешь не получить ни одного предложения.

3. О себе

Проверь свою контактную информацию. Продавцы будут использовать ее, чтобы связаться с тобой. Укажи несколько различных способов – телефон, эл. почта, skype.

4. Публикуй свой запрос

Еще раз проверь и публикуй запрос. Позже сможешь уточнить или удалить его, если заметишь ошибку или твои требования изменятся.

Крупные и сложные покупки всегда связаны с обзвонами, поездками, поисками, сравнениями, выбиванием цены, прочтением кучи материалов в Интернете.

Меня как покупателя это раздражает, так как приходится воровать… Воровать время у своей семьи, друзей, работы, отдыха.

Например, чтобы выбрать для себя кухонную мебель, мне пришлось истратить 10 выходных дней и 60 латов. Взамен я получил 3 бесполезных эскиза, 4 или 5 ценовых предложений, из которых лучшим оказалось – мебельный цех в 300 метрах от дома.

Куда ушло время?

• искал разных поставщиков, изготовителей мебели, звонил, писал им
• обошел несколько кухонных салонов
• обсудил варианты с родственниками, друзьями, знакомыми
• прочел около 50 Веб страниц
• узнал, что такое МДФ, чем польский ламинат отличается от немецкого и чем гранитная поверхность лучше или хуже поверхности из искусственного камня
• заплатил трем проектировщикам за эскизы мебели и подготовку предложения
• сам нарисовал свой эскиз
• разместил заказ

Сейчас я бы это делал по-другому, было бы жалко времени.

quindi adesso per un paio d’ore vi mostro le slides sui valori aziendali dell’A.D., che ci tiene tanto.

I’ve created this blog back in 2006 but havent used it at all. I’ve been thinking about writing blog for a long time but didnt get enough motivation to come back and add some posts. Lately i’ve been reading quite a few blog posts about various technical things. There were somethings that were very difficult to find on the web which i thought were very basic. So i decided that i’ll post everything i find intetersing in my blog from now on. Later on , this content can be converted into proper tutorials. It will be mostly technical in nature, but you can also expect a few non technical and person things. I will try to put in as much information as i can recollect of the things that i’ve learned and hopefully some people will find some things useful. I also intend to market this blog going forward. It will be a good excersise on online marketing for me.

I am currently working in a Internet marketing startup. Things are pretty exciting except for the fact that i have to code in Java. I have learned a lot of new things about marketing, behaviour tracking, ad exchanges. I will add more details regarding these in the future posts. Coming to the technical side of things, I’ve become a big fan of GWT . I had good understanding of doing server side of things of a web applications but was woefully ignorant when it came to dealing with client side html/css/javascript. I didnt even have the inclination to learn those things earlier because i found them boring. But GWT has changed that. I can now entirely develop a decently good looking web application on my own. And i am going to do that in the coming 1-2 months. I’ve been playing a text based game called Raging Universe . I’ve been thinking about a variant of this for some time. I’ve already started work on that, but with office work taking up most of the time, this took a back seat.

I have allocated 45 minutes of my day to writing blog posts. So you can expect one daily about the things that i learned that day or about things that i already know.

Вот именно так „всегда бывает”, когда чекист (или его жена) отправляются во вражеский тыл. Или на встречу с трудящимися Страны Советов, у которых (в первый раз за много лет) появилась возможность выразить действием свою любовь к славным чекистам и их женам…

Eines meinert Talante liegt zweifelsfrei darin, nach einem Umzug grundsätzlich eine Gegend für meine neue Behausung auszuwählen, in der ein reges Stadtteileben herrscht. Wohl fühle ich mich nur, wenn diverse  Einkaufsmöglichkeiten praktisch vor der Tür liegen und für mich als Fußgänger gut zu erreichen sind. Auch gehört für mich zu einem angenehmen Ambiente und dem Wohlfühlfaktor eine einigermaßen belebte Straße mit ein paar Cafés, Kneipen und Restaurants, die im Sommer Tische und Stühle zum Verweilen an die Straße stellen.

So gesehen habe ich mit Essen Rüttenscheid mal wieder ein Punktlandung vollbracht. Alles lebenswichtige ist vorhanden. Supermärkte, Discounter, viel Bewegung auf den Gehsteigen und ausreichend Außenplätze, damit ich meinen Feierabend oder die Sonnenstrahlen am Wochenende genießen kann. So können auch die n anderer Stelle erwähnten Viererbanden ihrem Hobbynachgehen und die Sonne genießen. Das Flair eines Viertels steigt unermesslich, wenn es gastronomische Einrichtungen zum sehen und gesehen werden in ausreichender Anzahl vorhanden sind.

Gut, die Öffnungszeiten sind etwas verbesserungswürdig, denn es ist spätestens um 19 h Schluß, meistens schon eine halbe Stunde früher. Auch am Samstag fühlt man sich wieder in 80er Jahre zurückversetzt. 13 bzw. 14 Uhr ist hier das späteste, was die Befriedigung der Konsumlust anbelangt. Schlecht für Freitagsabendzecher, die dann Samstag den Erhohlungsschlaf benötigen. Aber ich bin mir sicher, die Ladenbesitzer passen sich nur der hier in diesen Breitengeraden herrschenden Fußballleidenschaft an und wollen, das ihre Kunden keine Spiel verpassen, nur weil die Lebenspartnerin noch shoppen muss und das starke Geschlecht zum Tragen der neu erworbenen Waren dergradiert wird und das nenne ich Weitsicht.

Was die Vielfalt der dragebotenen Speisen anbelangt, so werde ich das in den nächsten Wochen und Monaten mal angehen und die einzelnen Länder, bzw. die Läden die diese unterschiedlichen Angebote machen, durchtesten.

Marina Barrage

Was there on a company event, it was very fun! Company was great, food was excellent, games were entertaining. The view at the barrage’s pretty good. Intend to head there stroll/ fly kite someday. PS Ni was a gem, came and fetched me home

Fame

Watched it with Chee, Cass, and Ren. Loved it very much! Made me wanna be a performing arts student. Coolest part was when everyone started pitching in and jamming to the beat during lunch break. Nearly cried twice, once during the piano solo. Totally worth catching in cinemas, audio was fantastic.

Mid Autumn Fest

Together with Ni, met Ru and Yuan at clarke quay for dessert. Was Ni’s first time meeting Ru and Yuan. First friends met other than Chee, whom he met first when he picked me up from her place, and second when giving Chee a lift to clarke quay where we went to meet Ru and Yuan.

So four of us sat at coffee club and yakked over dessert, think Ru and Yuan are really happy for me. It’s been very long since they’ve seen me anywhere near blissful. Welcomed change from recent past years’ climate.

After dessert, we strolled up fort canning with lanterns (courtesy of Ru) but within 5 minutes Ru’s lantern caught fire for reason we’re not certain of, and so she took the cam and started snapping shots, mostly of Yuan. We reached an exercise station with pull up bars and took stupid shots there. Then we proceeded to burn the lanterns, flames over which Ru made a wish for Yuan’s bod to be forever hot, that made Ni and I guffaw and Yuan speechless. Ru is hilarious.

Defending the Caveman

A play recommended by Ru, the four of us met up on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and the matinee thereafter, enjoyed the show so much, drew wild hyena-ic laughter from me. The very last portion of his monologue made me tear. It’s very well-crafted, the entire speech, how he elicited thoughts and emotions from his audience through a purposeful journey of part entertainment and part awareness. Excellente.

Duets

After catching the caveman show, we had dinner with Ru and Yuan at Saizeriya, this japish italian restaurant in Liang Court. We played stupid games there, like zong1 ji2 mi4 ma3 and the forfeits were weird concoctions of tea, tabasco, garlic, pepper and/or corn. I’m so glad my bestie and bestie bf and my bf can get along

After dinner, Ni came over to my place, we checked out duets online, and we sang them. We’re trying to find a duet we can sing comfortably together. First time he sang something to me, he made me laugh. This time, as he was singing something by David Tao, I… I don’t know, it might not have been during that song exactly. But tonight, something in me snapped fingers and went, shucks I’m in too deep. Up until a while ago, I have kept a comfortable distance (at least in my heart) such that if I had to leave him, I could and wouldn’t be much too hurt. But I think that has changed. Don’t think I can waltz away unscathed now. And why. Because of what he means to me. It’s been incredible, the way we’ve progressed the past weeks. Not in my wildest dreams did I expect to ever fall in love again, let alone this utterly, this amazingly. This happily.
