This weeks Hotness Of The Week at InternetPopular is Thandie Newton. You might recognize her from this weeks new movie 2012, in which she is one of the lead actors. You might also remember her from Rock N Rolla, ER, Run Fat Boy Run, The Chronicles of Riddick or Norbit. You might also recognize her as being that ridiculously hot chick that you can’t remember the name of. Isn’t that always the case? There are so many hot girls in the world that sometimes you know who they are but you just don’t remember who they are. We all have been there when you see a girl and you know you’ve seen her in something else and you liked her but you just can’t for the life of you remember who she is. Well you can take Thandie Newton off that list for now because now that you have read InternetPopular’s Hotness Of The Week you won’t forget her…at least for a week.

Enjoy!

Inspired by my recent enjoyment of ‘How to lose Friends and Alienate People’ I thought I would maintain my viewing pursuit of Simon Pegg’s back catalogue and watch David Scwimmers directorial debut ‘Run Fat Boy Run”.

A pretty solid cast for a romantic comedy comprising of Simon Pegg, Thandie Newton, Hank Azaria, and the under rated Irish comic Dylan Moran. Those that have watched the British comedy series ‘Black Books’ will recognize Moran in a role similar to his character Bernard, and nothing like his role of David in ‘Shaun of the Dead’.

The movie itself centers on Simon Pegg’s character Dennis, who stands accused by his friends as always finding excuses for his problems and alleviating himself from the responsibility of dealing with them head on. Dennis’ major regret in life is also the opening of the movie, which shows Dennis ditching a heavily pregnant Libby (Thandie Newton’s character) at the altar and literally running for the single life.

Fast forward a 6 years and Dennis is a part time Dad and fulltime security guard at a women’s clothes store, chain smoking and unable to catch transsexual shop lifters due to extra gut girth. Although Libby still speaks with Dennis, she is well and truly over her former fiancé, the same however can’t be said for Dennis. Libby is so far over Dennis that she now has a new beau, a rich, successful and intelligent hedge fund manager and typical city boy in the form of Hank Azaria’s character Whit.

What follows is a somewhat typical story of the underdog trying to win back the heart of the girl he loves, what keeps it original though is the merge of British and American comedy which is balanced nicely. Although fundamentally a British film, there is enough of an American influence that I would struggle to call it an outright Brit flick. What you get is an uplifting and inspirational tale of love, laughs and determination.

Simon Pegg is, as always, fantastic in his role as the loveable ‘average Joe’, utilizing perfect comic timing and just the right about of facial and physical comedy to get the laughs flowing.

I won’t go into detail, let you know the storyline involves a marathon and just suggest you give it a watch, not one for the movie theaters but for a night on the couch with the other half it fits the bill well.

I’ll be looking out to see what David Schwimmer does next as a debut I’m impressed.

I know who'll be left behind... Me! The widely anticipated ‘2012‘ will soon hit cine

I know who'll be left behind... Me!

The widely anticipated ‘2012‘ will soon hit cinemas globally very very soon.. Did I mention it was soon? Namely November. However, why is it so anticipated? This question could be answered in a multitude of ways, just as the end of the world is depicted in the film… A multitude of ways. The film is ultimately anticipated due to the glamorisation the media has put on the ‘2012 – End of the world because the mayan calander says so‘ frame of mind… Shockingly enough, people are buying it. On the other hand, the movie trailer is impressively nonchalant considering it’s a disaster movie, and I like that. It’s admirable.

What could be making you lovely readers at home concerned, is the fact the director of ‘2012′ is one and the same, Roland Emmerich. Emmerich’s previous works include ‘Independence day and The Day After Tomorrow‘. Which were amazing and slightly less amazing respectively. Now I know many a person who will say ‘The Day After Tomorrow‘ was a very poor film, however… I disagree. It was a great film, with alarmingly great special effects for its time. 2012 promises to be the same in terms of CGI, but because of the real-life ruckus that’s being stirred by the end of the world mentality, the film may either be a godsend or a new way of life. I don’t know about you, but personally… I just can’t wait for the film itself.

Now a film cannot be bad if it has John Cusack (1408; Igor), Woody Harrelson (No Country For Old Men, Seven Pounds and upcoming Zombieland), Thandie Newton (The Pursuit of Happyness; Run, Fat Boy, Run; Mission impossible II) and Danny Glover (Top Gun; Lethal Weapon franchise, and far too many amazing films to list) in the cast, can it? Oh I forgot to mention the lovely Amanda Peet. (Something’s Gotta Give; Syriana; X-files: I Want To Believe) All in all the lineup is pretty impressive; impressive cast; impressive director; impressive special effects; let’s see if it can impress me. Now finally, the trailer you should all see, is in my next post.

Ok so its Thursday evening and its been a bit of a weary week for me, since Monday night I’ve been struggling with sleeping (again) and have been tired all week, today as well as being very tired I’ve also felt a little off, I’ve had a bit of a headache and felt a little sickly on and off all day. Of course this could mean I’m coming down with something but to be honest I think its just my habit of losing sleep revisiting me and the fatigue is causing me to feel a little under the weather. “Under the weather”, what the hell does that even mean, as long as we’re not up in space we’re always “under” the weather aren’t we whether its bad or good and whether we feel well or ill the weather is above us, therefore we are “under” it, stupid saying if you ask me, not that anyone ever does of course, ah well.

A little update on the fun run, my workmates and I, seven of us, are all running it, we have formed a little team or club or something, we have been called by some “the magnificent seven”, personally I think its more like the magnificent six and a half, guess who the the half is, the oldest, the smallest, the least trained and the least magnificent, yep that’s right its me. The name we originally came up with for the team is “The Wildebeast Running Club” which I personally prefer, although perhaps “Be-Wildered Beast” would be more appropriate. We all work in the same office so the main bulk of all our sponsorships comes from the same pool of people, for this reason we decided to clip all our sponsor forms together and get sponsored as a team, so far with 2 weeks to go we have £595 pledged, not bad I don’t think.

The seven of us are as follows, Andy “Masher” Moore has had a decent grounding in jogging for some time and has recently been on holiday in France where he did some altitude training, Tony “Mad Tone” Jewula also has a history of jogging but is complaining about blisters at the moment, I think he’s trying to pull the wool over our eyes, John “Jonny Storm” Howard does a bit of jogging, swimming and golf, has a history of rugby union and is taking it all very seriously, definitely a threat, Ricky Keay trains regularly in the gym including regular treadmill sessions, not much running outside but should be fit, Dave “Old Walmo” Walmsley is a good runner, strong and fit, gotta be favourite, Ian “Young Walmo” Walmsley, don’t know, bit of a dark horse but seems in decent condition. Then of course finally there’s me, Kevin “The Happy Snapper” Wheeler, 52 years old, hasn’t done any physical activity in perhaps as much as 15 years, over weight, under trained and struggling.

So that’s us, “The Wildebeast Running Club” all getting ready for the fun run on the 15th of August, some more ready than others of course.

The running I’m doing at the moment is evolving, I’m changing the emphasis, previously I’ve been trying to tailor my running around the upcoming fun run, and insisting I was going to jog the whole thing without walking was spoiling my new found enjoyment of actually just getting out and running. I had a whole training plan designed to get me up to the distance for the fun run set out in an online running planner and I was becoming despondent when I couldn’t keep to it exactly, I have now deleted it, I have also stopped tailoring my runs around the fun run.

Apart from anything else I want my running to be sensible, safe and healthy, and pushing myself beyond my capabilities when I’m just starting out is neither sensible, safe nor healthy, its also not enjoyable and I want to be able to enjoy my running for what it is and not make a chore out of it.

So now I’m just running for me and how I feel, with 2 weeks to go the fun run will just take care of itself, if I can jog the whole thing without walking, well coolio, if not then its not the end of the world, its only a fun run, its supposed to be fun, it should be fun. I’d still like to be able to do it without walking if that’s the way it works out, its just not the reason for my present runs anymore and if my distance isn’t ready in time then its simply because I didn’t have the time to prepare properly, like I said, not the end of the world.

Another thing I’m changing is the way I blog my runs, so far I have been doing a separate post for each and every run but this isn’t the way I’m going to continue, each separate outing isn’t worthy of a complete post and it was beginning to take over my blog, what I’m going to do from now on is to post a weekly post with all the weeks runs summarised. Of course in the case of special runs, like the fun run for instance I will do a separate post, but on the whole I will be doing a weekly runs post.

I knew all wasn’t well quite soon into the run, my legs felt very heavy, like they had weights tied to them (no they didn’t) and I was very quickly out of breath, it just felt totally wrong all the way round, I had no energy at all.

I was coming toward the end of the mile and I knew I had just nothing at all left so I just did the mile, I never attempted the extra half mile loop, I was knackered, mind you when I checked my stopwatch I’d done the mile in 9 minutes 19 seconds which is my fastest single mile to date and the same pace as I did the 1.5 miles on Monday, a pace of 9:25 per mile.

So I only did the mile but I know why, I’m tired out after not sleeping last night, I did my fastest mile to date and after Monday I know I can do the mile and a half so I’m not altogether worried, hopefully back to the 1.5 mile next time out.

Yesterday I posted rather negatively, it may have sounded like I was being negative about my jogging

Yesterday I posted rather negatively, it may have sounded like I was being negative about my jogging in general but I wasn’t, I was only being negative about my feelings toward my chances of getting enough miles in before the fun run. As far as my jogging for myself is concerned, if I was to forget the fun run even existed, well I think it’s going ok under the circumstances, I’m fairly happy with my progress, its when I take the fun run into consideration it all goes horribly wrong. I honestly don’t see myself having time to be ready to jog the whole thing, but as far as my jogging in general is concerned, I think I’m making rather decent progress.

So on to tonight’s run, I set off to do my 1 mile lap and just see what happened, I was ready to add the half mile loop on if possible but I felt ok just doing the mile again if need be, I kind of cleared my mind of any urgency or need to do a certain distance and just got on with it.

As soon as I set off it felt better than the last couple of runs, my legs felt looser and my breathing felt better, I also felt like I was moving smoother, just a good night I guess. As I came toward the end of my mile lap I just knew I had a little more in the tank, so I took the plunge and set off on the extra half mile loop, I wasn’t sure if I would have to walk a little of the last loop but that would have been ok.

But I didn’t have to walk any, it definitely got a lot harder as I got around half way through the extra half mile but I never had to walk, in fact it felt a lot better than I expected, then when I checked my time I was so pleased, I did the mile and a half in 14 minutes 7 seconds, that’s 9:25 per mile pace which is better than I did my best 1 mile in, I’m very pleased.

There’s a strong possibility I still wont be able to get up to 3 miles plus in time for the fun run, but you know what, it wont matter, as long as I do my best on the day and my running in general keeps improving like this I think I’ll be content. Mind you I haven’t given up on jogging it all just yet, I just think there’s a good chance I may have to. Before I went out tonight I watched the movie “Run Fatboy Run” after which my training regime is named, having watched this I have to keep trying and not give in, don’t I ?

Since deciding to do and signing on for the St Mary’s Hospice 5k Hospice Heroes Fun Run which takes

Since deciding to do and signing on for the St Mary’s Hospice 5k Hospice Heroes Fun Run which takes place on Saturday 15th August I have started jogging in a bid to be ready for it, I want to be able to jog the whole 5k (3.1 miles) without walking. I have also decided, all being well to keep on jogging after the fun run, I need to get and keep fitter than I am and to be honest have got the bug back a bit like when I used to run a lot all those years ago.

Now at this point you have to remember that I haven’t run as much as 100 yards in many, many years (perhaps even 15 years), I’m 52 years old and badly out of condition. so I started with a nice easy, flat, 1 mile loop from my front door and back, I have jogged this 9 times now, I started off walking about half and running about half, slowly I have been able to jog more and walk less until 3 outings ago I managed to jog the whole mile with no walking, my first milestone.

I have now managed to jog the 1 mile loop the last three times without walking but I’m still finding it really hard, I’m having real trouble getting to a state when I can up the distance to 1.5 miles, and, to be ready in time to jog the whole fun run I need to be able to jog a distance of at least 3 miles by the date of the run in 3 weeks. Its beginning to feel like a big ask, I’m starting to think I’m gonna run out of time to get my distance up far enough, the trouble is to build my jogging distance up I don’t think I’m gonna be able to do each distance enough times to be ready to move up to the next distance.

The only thing I can think of doing is to fit more runs between my planned sessions and therefore give myself less rest and recovery time and run the possibility of burning out or even hurting myself, even then I’m not sure whether I have the time to get my distance up enough.

To be honest this fun run is becoming a real pain in the bum, yes it did me a big favour in as much as it got me out jogging again and like I said I intend to keep it going long after the fun run. But I’m going to have to push myself rather harder than I feel is comfortable under my circumstances simply because I’m having to get my mileage up in time to be ready for the fun run, its becoming to feel like a bit of a millstone around my neck.

I’d rather, and of course I feel like I ought to be pushing my improvement a lot slower, I’d rather improve and up the distance I’m jogging at my own pace and as my body dictates, not in a hurry in order to do a fun run. After the fun run I will be jogging at a distance and a pace which I feel me and my body can manage without doing any damage. Until then of course I have an event to be ready for and I’m gonna have to push myself hard to be ready, if of course I can.

I have committed to doing this fun run and of course St Mary’s Hospice is a cause which I have reason to support, so I will do it, I will complete it, and I still want to be able to do it without walking any if possible, its just gonna be a lot harder than I thought to be ready for it.

By the way, although that is me in the picture above my number for the fun run is 28 not 74.

For tonight’s run I was hoping to do my first 1.5 mile but I found tonight really hard, there just didn’t seem to be any air, I struggled getting my breath quite quickly and for the last 1/4 mile or so I felt like throwing up, but I kept running and just did my mile in 9 minutes 41 seconds.

As I said I was planning to do a mile and a half tonight so now I’m behind in my planned mileage, I’m not gonna worry too much right now but I can’t afford to fall far behind when I only have 3 weeks until the fun run.

Just got back from my run for this evening, I did my mile lap again, my legs felt a little tired setting out but once again got better as they loosened up, my breathing got a little laboured but that isn’t nearly as bad as it was in my earlier jogs either.

It was a bit windy tonight so for half of the lap I was running into the wind, this knocked the wind out of my sails a little, it kinda took my breath away (just like the song by Berlin, really used to like that song, mind you her hair was a little weird wasn’t it) so that didn’t make it any easier. Still although it felt hard work it didn’t feel as bad as it used to and I’m pretty happy with a time of 9 minutes 34 seconds, oh and no walking again, ran all the way for the second time, I don’t plan on having to walk on my runs again if I can help it.

I am definitely recovering quicker after my runs now, in fact I’m not as bad after my runs as I used to be, but, I’m gonna have to up the distance soon to keep on track in being ready for the fun run, perhaps next time out I’ll do a mile and a half, have to see how it goes.

I am so pleased, in fact I feel quite hyper about this, of course it could be the Endorphin rush one gets from exercise but I think its also a feeling of achievement. When I went for my mile jog tonight my legs felt heavy to begin with but as they warmed up they felt better and as I went along my breathing didn’t become quite as laboured as before, I couldn’t believe it, I just kept jogging, waiting for the point when I’d have to walk but it didn’t come.

Yes I actually jogged the whole mile without having to walk once and I have the best time I’ve done it in up till now as well, 9 minutes 27 seconds, I am pretty damn chuffed. I also think I have started to recover quicker afterwards as well which is I believe equally important, I feel as though I have taken a big step forward in the “Run Fat Boy Run” training program this evening. Of course it still wasn’t easy, I have a way to go yet but I’m feeling very positive about my training tonight.

I did my 1 mile jog a little earlier this evening, as soon as I set off my legs felt like lead weights and on the longest straight on the route I was jogging against a head wind, it felt like quite a strong wind, I’m guessing it wasn’t but it felt like it.

All the same I pressed on and was rewarded with a time of 9 minutes 54 seconds, it got a little better as I went along, I managed to knock the twenty seconds off that I added on last time out, back to my ten minute mile and with only a tiny bit of walking along the way, feeling a bit better about it than I did on my last jog.

There was a slight change in plan in the jogging department on Friday, I was to continue the “Run Fat Boy Run” program with a jog when I got home from work but while walking home I could feel a bit of a twinge in my right calf. Since then of course I’ve been a bit lazy because of being off work and having my lads here on holiday and its now been 6 days since I last went out for a jog, so of course I’m not sure how its going to go tonight.

I went for my jog around 10:00 pm and it was raining although still a little warm, boy it was a hard one tonight, not only did I suffer because of my lay off but I had eaten a fairly heavy tea a couple of hours earlier, I could definitely feel it and felt as though I’d put about two tonne’s on while jogging.

My time was the slowest mile I’ve done, but under the circumstances I’m not really surprised, all my miles up to the last were 10 minutes within a couple of seconds either way, on my last one which I was very proud of I knocked 20+ seconds off. Well this time I added 20 seconds on with a time of 10 minutes 21 seconds, slow and difficult, but no one said they were all gonna be easy.

I have two lessons to learn here though, don’t leave it six days between jogs and don’t eat a couple of quarter pounders a couple of hours before jogging

I’ve just done my mile jog for tonight, I planned on doing Monday, Wednesday and Friday and resting Tuesday and Thursday this week, well I did Monday, I rested yesterday but I came close to not doing tonight’s, I was tired and haven’t been in a great mood all day, I really didn’t feel up to it, but I told myself that I need to just get out and do it so a little after ten o’clock I went out.

It was cooler than recently outside but it felt like hard going all the same, I thought I was really struggling, yet still I managed to walk a lot less this time, very little in fact, but it felt slow and I reckoned my time was going to be slower than my others. Imagine my surprise when I got back, stopped my stopwatch and I had a time of 9 minutes 34 seconds, my other times have all been close to around 10 minutes (within seconds), this was 20+ seconds faster.

So I walked a lot less and I guess I wasn’t running much if any slower after all, I’m really pleased I went out now instead of giving in to the mood, I’m thinking its not going to be long before I can do the mile without walking any, yes jogging the lot, a definite improvement.

Tonight was the start of week two of the “Run Fat Boy Run” program, after running, erm jogging, on Friday I rested Saturday and Sunday and have just, well more or less just, got back off tonight’s 1 mile lap. I tried to walk less again, and I believe I succeeded, this probably meant that I ran a little slower overall but this is ok, this was borne out by the fact that even though I’m certain I walked less my time was still around 10 minutes for the mile (9 minutes 59 seconds to be precise) which is more or less just the same time as the last two.

Things are going quite nicely, well I’m fairly happy with my progress so far, I am pretty sure I’m walking slightly less and therefore jogging a little further each time, my pace of ten minutes for a mile is also ok with me for now. Also I reckon I recovered better this evening, I’m sure my breathing got back to normal sooner than the previous sessions.

The first target I’m aiming for, my first milestone if you like, is to do the mile without walking, this isn’t gonna happen overnight but it will happen, after that my next step will be to do a longer distance and then slowly up the distance, obviously by the time of the fun run, the 15th of August, just under six weeks away I want to be able to jog 5k (a little over 3 miles) without stopping, it doesn’t have to be fast, I just want to do it without walking, or dying of course.

Yesterday was a rest day in the "run fat boy run program", I had gone out my first 2 days

Yesterday was a rest day in the "run fat boy run program", I had gone out my first 2 days in a row and my thighs were a little sore and stiff yesterday so I didn’t go out last night, rest and recovery is as important as the actual work, especially at this very early stage.

But I wanted to have a jog today so as I’m going to Wigan for the rugby this evening I decided to go out when I got home from work mid day, the weather has taken a change today and when I went out for my mile jog at around 12:30 pm it was raining a fair bit but still rather warm, its my first outing in the rain so wasn’t sure how it would go, but it was ok.

I felt a little stiffness in the old legs to begin with but it went about the same as the last one, I did try to run a touch slower though in the effort to walk even less than before, and I think it worked, I’m sure I walked a bit less. When I got back and stopped my stop watch it showed 9 minutes 56 seconds, which I’m pretty pleased with, the slightly slower pace I tried was made up for by the fact I ran more and walked less, super, I’m very happy averaging 10 minute miles at the moment.

I’m sat resting now sipping well watered down Robinson’s Orange & Pineapple and eating a banana in the knowledge I’ve done my bit for today.

I have now created a “Run Fat Boy Run” category here on my blog to record my running training, I know that theoretically its only for and up to the fun run in six weeks but I’ve a very strong feeling that all being well it will go further and become a new, very good hobby. It’ll obviously get to the point when I wont log every single run on here, that would just be daft, although it may be an idea to do a weekly summary recording all the runs I do in a week along with special entries, once I’ve got past writing about every one that is.

I actually slept like a comatose thing last night after having had my first jog, I slept so well tha

I actually slept like a comatose thing last night after having had my first jog, I slept so well that apparently I slept through thunder, lightning and torrential rain, I myself heard a slight rumble in the distance and then went into a state of suspended animation for the night, just for your info by the way, despite last nights weather (which I missed) today has been beautiful. This morning I awoke to my alarm bright and early and actually felt pretty good all day, of course I might just have been due a good night and also a good day but they did both coincide with the first proper exercise I’ve taken in quite a few years

So my training has begun, first run last night, I expected to be achy or something today but I felt surprisingly ok, so I decided to do a second run tonight, I have also decided that my training regime shall be known from now on as the "Run Fat Boy Run Program" in honour of my magnificent physique. I also wanted to change my route slightly, rather than having a run of 0.8 of a mile I wanted to have a distance of 1 mile, it just appeals to my sensibilities more to have an even mile, don’t ask

So I played around with my route planner a little and by just extending part of it slightly I came up with a new run length of 1 mile, well 0.99 of a mile to be precise but I’m not gonna worry about 0.1 of a mile and I trust your not either, I don’t even know what 0.1 of a mile is.

I went out a couple of hours later tonight, at 10:00 pm, the idea was it may be a little cooler and less of a strong sun beating down on me, I set off on my mile jog and although it still felt damn hot it also felt slightly easier, the actual act of running even felt a little less alien to me, I bought a cheap stop watch today so was using this to time my run. I walked parts but again ran a fair bit more than half, I arrived back at my door and stopped my stopwatch, I was very surprised to see a time of 10 minutes 4 seconds, I knew it felt easier and more natural but it was still a surprise, a 10 minute mile is a full minute better than I timed last nights average pace at, of course without a stop watch last night my timing may have been faulty, whatever I’m pretty damn chuffed with tonight’s mile jog.

I do feel a little ache now at the front of my thighs just above the knee and wow am I sweating, still, at least 25 minutes after getting back, but I’m more than happy with the way its gone so far, I do reckon though that I’m gonna be a little sorer tomorrow.

I must be bloody barmy, there was a time when I used to do a lot of running, 5 or 6 days a week ever

I must be bloody barmy, there was a time when I used to do a lot of running, 5 or 6 days a week every week, I ran in some road races (10 miles was my favourite distance, not too long and not too short and fast), I would train with some pretty long training runs. But this was a long time ago, a different me ago and a different body ago, I haven’t run anywhere in many years, I’m tubby and out of condition, I can get out of breath walking to the chippie and if there was a race across the room between me, Timmy and Tammy (my tortoises) I think I might be last

So why oh why, today, did I volunteer myself to do a fun run, ok so its only 5k (3 miles) but its in only 6 weeks time (Saturday 15th August) , well I think the main reason is because its in aid of the local hospice, St Mary’s Hospice, which is where my dear old dad ended his days, I guess I want to give a little back. There are a bunch of lads in our office doing it, of various running abilities so I’ll have company.

So on the way home from work I got a cheap pair of running shoes in the sale, I’m gonna have to do some preparation to get myself ready, I don’t really want to have to walk it and I certainly don’t wanna drop dead doing it so I need to do a little preliminary jogging beforehand and as I said I only have six weeks to prepare myself, so its into very light and sensible training mode I go.

Tonight, a little after 8:00 pm I went out for my first exploratory jog, I’d picked out a nice short route starting and ending at my front door, it worked out at 0.8 of a mile according to my route planner, I set out at a nice easy jog and knew I would have to walk some of it as well as running some of it, this I did but I reckon I ran a fair bit more than half of it. The time I did it in was roughly (gonna have to get a cheap stop watch) 8 minutes 52 seconds, this equates to 11 minutes per mile average, although remember some of this was walking, I was actually pretty pleased with this, especially as its still very warm out.

I got home breathless and sweating heavily and it took a while to get my breathing back to normal and a long time to stop sweating, hey ya never know I might lose some weight doing this. Afterwards I drank plenty of fluids and feasted on grapes, lovely. Anyway that’s it started, no going back now

After 6 days writing this blog i have found myself onto the Google listings, search “real fat boy run” or “the real run fat boy run” among others and there i am!! Brilliant!! Which means i should now start to receive some organic traffic to the blog, which is the only way it will grow. Starting on the 23rd April my view numbers have gone; 6, 15, 96, 131, 102 and today so far its on 20. I cant really argue with that can i…..?

Today is a recovery mission to get back friendly with my girlfriend, we had a bit of a tiff last night. You don’t need to know the details, but its a long running disagreement between us that usually ends with the same result, me getting a smack!! To be honest i think she is scared of me losing the 6 stone, being fit to die for and attracting the glares of many more women folk… But i might be wrong so don’t tell her i said that!! I must still be in the bad books because its 1.17pm and i still haven’t had any dinner…..

Depending on how well you know me, you will either be happy or upset to know that the Vietnamese River Cobbler (Pongas) did not kill me. BUT…. I did have my appendix out 3 weeks ago and my other half still thinks its a good idea to punch me square in the belly button. So i do have a pain there this morning, time will tell if its the fish of little motorbikes or punch of little girlfriend. Her excuse is that I’m tall and she is not (i am 6ft 6 and weigh 22 stone, she is 5ft 1 and weighs 6 stone) so when she punches me its the only place she can reach, I’m yet to be convinced. But giving the final words to the fish..It was very nice!

15 days to no more cigarettes and my legs moving for more than a trip to the fridge….
