You’ve guessed it, i watched Donnie Darko again. I really don’t know why i do this, but i just find it so interesting. The idea is that i went on the website (again) and this time i actually played the game instead of saying “next time”. I found it to be really cool, i like that kind of games (ARGs – alternate reality games) but it’s only a early version, not like one of these ARGs these days, intricate and more of the game taking place in real world. Well, this is all virtual and unfortunately it only has 3 levels and it ends very abruptly.

Getting back to the movie.. it’s definitely one to watch before you die (put it on the bucket list, people). It’s filled with interesting things from time travel to the creation of Smurfette (i didn’t know Smurfette was created by Gargamel) but anyway the story is just so great, it’s about Donnie, a very intelligent boy who sleepwalks and has emotional problems. One night he sees Frank, who has a mask and is dressed in a bunny suit (if you think about Alice in Wonderland, it was a rabbit then too who Alice followed into the hole) and he tells Donnie the world will end in 28 days 6 hours 42 minutes and 12 seconds. Then it gets all interesting and we’re shown different aspects of Donnie’s life and in the end Donnie finds the wormhole (rabbit hole, wormhole) and everything returns to what it should have been. Everything in the movie has a meaning and an end purpose, nothing is there by chance  and the dialogues are great, so many memorable quotes.

On the same concept they made a sequel, which was not so great i must say, but this time the movie is based on Samantha Darko, Donnie’s younger sister. She, like her brother, sleepwalks and while travelling with her friend Corey begins to be haunted by weird visions. Slightly more complicated and hazardous this movie pales in comparison to the first one, but it’s a little bit more sales orientated (mainstream-ish). And i must applaude the fact that they used the same actress as in the first movie and made that part realistic, you sense the story actually goes on from brother to sister.

So, if you wanna see a great, interesting movie Donnie Darko is the one.

She starred as Bridget in ever-so popular The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants 1&2
“Girlfriend” in New York, I Love You. She starred along side big names such as Bradley Cooper, Shia LaBeouf, Natalie Portman, Orlando Bloom, Hayden Christensen, Christina Ricci, and Rachel Bilson.

Leighton Meester

Leighton has had a lot of  TV exposure, with parts in shows such as Entourage, CSI: Miami, House, Shark, Numb3rs, 8 Simple Rules, 24, 7th Heaven, and Law & Order. On the movie side of it all, she hasn’t been in anything too popular. Date Night, slated to release in 2010, is supposed to be hilarious, after all it does star funnies such as Steve Carrell and Tina Fey.

He stars in the new movie The Stepfather, which is doing pretty good at the box-office, right? He also had a bit in John Tucker Must Die along side Brittany Snow and Ashanti. He also has TV experience on Will & Grace, What I Like About You, and The Young and The Restless.

Chace Crawford

Off the top of my head I can’t think of anything he has starred in, so I reached out to my dear friend IMDB.com for info.
He lent his voice to Family Guy and Robot Chicken in 2008/2009. He is also playing the lead in Footloose, out in 2010.

Taylor Momsen

She’s probably best known as Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. She was also in We Were Soldiers which also starred Mel Gibson and Keri Russell.

Ed Westwick

I am fairly sure Gossip Girl is his first “big” acting gig. He was in Californication for an episode in 2009. Also, he played Randy in S. Darko, which I refuse to see. BUT, he is starring at Heathcliff in 2010’s Wuthering Heights.

So, which cast member do you think is landing the best gigs? My vote goes to Blake Lively, or Leighton Meester. Although Ed Westwick’s part in Wuthering Heights is sure to put him on the map, as well as Chace Crawford’s part in Footloose.

Sono passati ormai sette anni da quando Donnie Darko è rimasto ucciso da un motore di aereoplano caduto sulla sua camera mentre dormiva. La sorella maggiore si è sposata, la minore (Daveigh Chase) è in viaggio verso la California con la sua amica del cuore (Brian Evigan) per inseguire il sogno di diventare ballerina. Ma la loro auto ha un guasto nei pressi di una piccola cittadina, Conejo Springs, e le due ragazze sono costrette a fermarsi in paese per un po’. E ripartono gli incastri fra mondi paralleli, che qui sono addirittura tre, contro i due del primo film.

Guardando S. Darko si ha la sensazione di assistere alla brutta, bruttissima copia del predecessore. L’idea di base è ovviamente la stessa (e quindi è buona, anzi ottima), ma per il resto tutto è cambiato, a partire dalla regia: Richard Kelly è nettamente superiore a Chris Fisher.
Le differenze fra gli attori sono abissali: i bravissimi Jake Gyllenhaal, Patrick Swayze e Drew Barrymore del primo film non hanno niente da spartire con questi volti perlopiù sconosciuti al pubblico non americano. I protagonisti, infatti, sono quasi tutti adolescenti acerbi che hanno ancora molto da dimostrare.
Anche la sceneggiatura è cambiata (in peggio): quella del primo film era seria (come la regia e gli attori) ed era destinata ad un pubblico adulto, questa assomiglia molto ad altre sceneggiature di film da teenager, come Twilight. Ed è questo che, alla fine, S. Darko è, un film per teenager.
Tutto è semplificato e anche molto confuso rispetto alla prima pellicola: della teoria dei viaggi nel tempo, molto complessa e spiegata a dovere nel primo film, non resta quasi nulla. I due fratelli, poi, svolgono ruoli completamente diversi: Donnie si sacrificava per salvare il proprio mondo, il coniglio lo avvisava del tempo che scorreva e gli suggeriva il da farsi. Qui è Samantha che interpreta la parte del coniglio, mentre sono rispettivamente l’amica Corey e Iraq Jack (James Lafferty, abbastanza simile per fisico a Jake Gyllenhaal, ma indubbiamente privo della sua bravura) a svolgere il sacrificio che fu di Donnie. Basta questo a confondere le idee.
Nel film del 2001, poi, alla storia di Donnie facevano da sfondo un mosaico di vicende di uomini e donne tristi e soli, che vagavano, totalmente persi, in un mondo forse non loro. Qui si tenta di ricomporre il mosaico in maniera molto semplificata, ma ogni singola vicenda viene prima presa e poi lasciata a metà e incompiuta.
Come paragonare l’ambiguo pastore John di S. Darko al tormentato e magnifico Patrick Swayze del primo film? L’uno sembra riprendere l’altro, ma la storia del pastore è praticamente decontestualizzata e priva di significato. E come paragonare Trudy (Elizabeth Berkley), del sequel, a Drew Barrymore, del predecessore? Impossibile.
Una delle ultime scene di Donnie Darko, forse la più bella di tutto il film, in cui la splendida canzone Mad World accompagna i primi piani dei “gregari” di Donnie, rende penoso il tentativo di replica nel sequel.
A discapito dell’ultima fatica di Chris Fisher possiamo dire che, sebbene il confronto con la prima pellicola renda il sequel imbarazzante, presa in sé e per sé questa opera non è completamente da buttare, vuoi per l’idea che, come detto, è ottima, vuoi perchè comunque c’è molto di peggio in giro.

Ma olen tagasi oma kurnavalt kolmepäevaselt õppeperioodilt, mis jätkub kohe kui ma olen lõpetanud selle sissekande… või ära vaadanud järjekordse filmi.

Lisaks kõigele üritan ma oma elus jälle mõtet leida… Miks? Nimelt juhtus siis selline asi, et sattusin ühe arvuti taha, kus oli heli… no nüüd on ka minu arvutil, aga see ei ole tähtis. Igatahes vaatasin Jacksoni ja 100Monkeyse inetrvjuud. Mmm… See oli halenaljakas… kuni Jackson hakkas rääkima soengust...JUST! Sellest samast soengust, mida ma kummardan, mis on mulle õhk, mis on mulle toit, mis on mu elu tähtis osa, sest ma armastan seda soengut. Ta rääkis sellest! Aga noh, nii palju kui ma unisena aru sain, siis jäi mulle sellest mulje, et ta vist ei ole enda soenguga rahul!? Ta vist kasvatab seda välja või nii…!? Appi!!! Nagu… olgu, ma armastan seda soengut… ja nii.. aga üks põhilisi komponente selle soengu juures on Jackson ise… Ei, ma ei armastanud seda soengut sellepärast, et vb Jacksonile see meeldib.. no.. ma arvasin, et see on loogiline, eks… ta ju kannab seda.. Ja nüüd- ma pean leidma enda elus uue suuna! Asja, mida mina armastan selle omanik ei armasta!? Tuhh.. maei tea enam midagi öelda! Milles on elu mõte nüüd!?:D Ja ma ei saanud selle jutu mõttest ise ka aru!

Tegelikult on J. Action vist veidi rumal, sest ta ei mõista milline turn-on see soeng on! Ja lisaks ei mõista ta ka seda, et tal on fännid, kellel on vajadused teda igapäev näha (olgu, ma lepin ülepäeviti olukorraga ka)… ja ta on kadunud juba ei-tea-kui-kaua! Just sellepärast hakkasin ma tema filme vaatama… Võtsin, siis ette filmi “S. Darko“, kus tal ei ole ei-tea-kui-suurt osa, aga kus ta mängib väga hullu nohiklikku tegelast, kes lõpuks peategelase ära tapab… jap… tal on seal vahepeal isegi kuri/kakahäda nägu peas… päris suur turn-on!:D See oli nii kuum lihtsalt, ilma naljata!

Igatahes, filmi mõttest ma eriti aru ei saanud, sisu klappis kokku, aga oli mõttetult keerukaks tehtud. Siiski oli see super film minu mõistuse järgi! Nagu mõista, siis sisu ma ei oska väga seletada… soovitan kõigil ise vaadata! Aga näitlejatevalik oli superb- Ed Westwick, Jackson Rathbone… ja see tšikk, kes “The Ringis” Samarat mängis. Muidugi oli filmis ka kaks head kohta- koht, kus Westwicki tegelane autost vigastatuna välja roomab… epic… ja hetk, mil Jacksoni tegelane Westwicki tegelasele peaga lõuga tõmbab.

Kuna ma filmi ei oska seletada, siis vaadake lihtsalt filmi trailerit!

Kui ma kunagi Jacksoni filmid lõpetan võtan ette Johnny Deppi filmid… mis tähendab, et ma saan filme vaadata igapäev kuni aastavahetuseni.

Noh, kuni Jackson pipardab, peame meie leppima Kellaniga. Aga, hei!, see ei ole üldse nii paha… ma olen leidnud paar kuuma pilti temast. Ma usun, et teil tüdrukutel läheb nüüd veidi raskeks!

There are some films that lend themselves to a sequel, some that are purposefully geared towards a second instalment, and then there are those that should simply be left untouched, untarnished by a dismal, disappointing follow-up. Sadly, S. Darko places itself firmly in the latter of these three categories.

Having been tagged as a “cult classic” by almost every writer to have discussed it, the film’s prequel, Donnie Darko was always likely to polarize opinion amongst moviegoers. S. Darko, however, is unlikely to cause much reaction amongst fans of the first Darko film, aside from a few timely sneers and tuts of dismay and perhaps disgust.

Richard Kelly’s vision of a world distorted by disturbing dreams and disorientating time travel had a distinct feel of auterism about it, with the director also taking writing credits. For the continuation of the story to be as engaging and successful as its beginning, with another director at the helm, it was going to have to be special. Frankly, there isn’t much about this movie that could be accused of holding that trait. Chris Fisher (Cold Case, Eureka, Moonlight) takes charge without ever really actually taking charge, and his cast of unknowns and b-listers do little to plug the holes in the sinking ship. That is not to say their performances are in any way dire, in fact there is not much to say about their performances, period.

Visually, the film relies quite heavily on slow-motion sequences (accompanied by a combination of haunting piano refrains and some well-chosen soundtrack gems) to break up the tedium of a movie that just never really convinces the viewer that they want to watch it. Moreover, these sequences, as stylized as they are, serve more as a reminder that this is not Donnie Darko.

As with all stories dealing with time travel, the myriad plot pitfalls of anachronisms and what-ifs will surely prove to be ongoing talking points for those hardcore fans of the first movie that will give this film a longer day in court simply because it carries on the Donnie Darko legacy. If taken out of that context though, and plainly viewed as a standalone piece of cinema, there really is little to get excited about – even for the most avid Darko-philes.

Sette anni dopo la morte del fratello Donnie, la diciottenne Samantha Darko ( Daveigh Chase) cerca di lasciarsi alla spalle il dolore per la propria perdita, partendo con la sua migliore amica Corey (Briana Evigan) alla volta della California per lavorare come ballerine. Durante il viaggio la macchina si ferma in una piccola cittadina, Conejo Springs. La sosta forzata farà comprendere alla ragazza che non si può sfuggire al proprio passato e ai propri fantasmi…

Partiamo dal presupposto che Donnie Darko di Richard Kelly è un film bellissimo, un cult, un prodotto unico e inimitabile. Detto questo passiamo all’analisi di questo sequel, anche se chiamarlo sequel è decisamente un’offesa per l’originale… Chris Fisher è chiaramente un fan della pellicola e decide masochisticamente di cimentarsi nel secondo capitolo di quello che da molti (me compresa!) è considerato un capolavoro… Mission impossible già sulla carta…Ma lui non si perde d’animo, anche dopo l’abbandono del progetto da parte dello stesso Kelly, che ne ha preso totalmente le distanze…Continua, forse punta sull’effetto pubblicità del titolo… Risultato: un totale fallimento su tutta la linea, una débacle assurda…

Il film semplicemente non ha senso… Tutte le visioni di Donnie, il coniglio, il sonnambulismo etc erano inserite in un particolare contesto e avevano la loro propria ragion d’essere e inoltre avevano un  saldo contorno di ironia, dialoghi intelligenti, ritratti crudi e realistici di un’intera generazione, senza parlare poi dell’apporto del cast praticamente perfetto, a partire dai fratelli Gyllenhall, Jake e Maggie. Nel cast originario del film c’era anche Daveigh Chase, che interpretava la sorellina più piccola di casa Darko, Samantha. Il secondo capitolo vede l’attrice, ormai cresciuta, riprendere lo stesso ruolo. Qui si fermano i contatti tra il primo e il secondo film. Il resto è solo una serie assurda e arbitraria di viaggi indietro nel tempo, di personaggi ambigui e male delineati, di domande che restano senza risposta per tutta la durata della pellicola, e di tentativi maldestri  di imitazione del primo capitolo, come il coniglio, il nipote di Roberta Sparrow, e di soluzioni alla David Lynch.

L’unica nota positiva è data dalla protagonista , la giovane, precoce e talentuosa Daveigh Chase (chi non la ricorda nel ruolo della terrificante Samara Morgan in The Ring?), accompagnata da Briana Evigan, protagonista di Step Up 2, nel ruolo della sua migliore amica Corey e da Ed Westwick, il Chuck Bass della serie tv Gossip Girl, che interpreta Randy, un ragazzo originario della piccola cittadina in cui le due ragazze sono costrette a fermarsi e che si offre di aiutarle a riparare l’auto.

In definitiva, un film assolutamente perdibile, quasi un’offesa all’originale.

Conclusione: Da evitare.

Saw II, III and IV director Darren Lynn Bousman is prepping a remake of the 1980 cult horror film Mother’s Day.

Bousman has already assembled an array of cast members for his scary movie including Shawn Ashmore (Iceman from the X-Men films), Alexa Vega (Spy Kids), Briana Evigan (S. Darko), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood), Matt O’Leary (Death Sentence) and Jaime King (Sin City). The first day of filming is scheduled to take place next month in Winnipeg, Canada.

The old Mother’s Day was a Lloyd Kaufman film from his Troma Company so it was ultra-low budget and tailored to grab as much attention for its shock value. Made when making slasher films that took place around a holiday were the fad, the ’80s Mother’s Day was a brutal story about three female friends who, while camping, are stalked and sexually assaulted

Alexa Vega

by two deranged brothers who have a misguided sense of family values. The new Mother’s Day is dropping the rape element and moving the action to the confines of a house. The new owners of the house will be terrorized by the former family that used to live there who are apparently a bunch of wackos.

“What we’re trying to do is elevate this outside of a genre movie,” Bousman is quoted as saying to THR. “I’ve done three Saw films, I’ve done Repo, and yes, this is horrific at times, but it’s much darker and deeper because of the focus on the characters.”

The filmmakers want to get their movie out in time around next year’s Mother’s Day in May.

L’eco lontano, molto lontano del cult movie Donnie Darko aleggia per tutta la durata di questo non autorizzato sequel. Ma si perde completamente nel nulla lasciando lo spettatore avvolto solamente da una coltre di noia. Fin dall’ inizio non si ha fatica a capire che S. Darko calca la stessa strada fatta di viaggi nel tempo e mondi paralleli conditi da ritmi di montaggio in slowmotion e una avvolgente colonna sonora. Ma ciò che non è lo stesso è il risultato. In Donnie Darko stupiva la genialità misteriosa e l’ironia con la quale era trattato l’argomento dei viaggi nel tempo e inoltre gran parte del successo del precedente film era dovuta dalla accurata caratterizzazione dei personaggi e dalla bravura del protagonista Jake Gyllenhaall (non a caso questo film segnò l’ inizio della sua crescente carriera di attore). In S. Darko la protagonista femminile Daveigh Chase oltre a dover sopperire le mancanze di caratterizzazione del suo personaggio, nonchè di sceneggiatura non vanta il carisma dell’ attore che interpretava suo fratello nella finzione cinematografica. Se in Donnie Darko la circolarità della storia decisamente surreale si inseguiva coerentemente in dimensioni parallele, qui in S. Darko tutto sembra ridursi in una sorta di Butterfly Effect nel quale i protagonisti sono giovani e belli e sembrano messi lì per attirare giovani spettatori e soprattutto spettatrici. La presenza del giovane attraente rampollo Ed Westwick, reduce dal successo di Gossip Girl, diviene infatti per le più giovani uno dei motivi di attrazione verso questo film. Chi ha amato il suo precursore non potrà che restare deluso in definitiva da questo suo sequel del quale lo stesso Richard Kelly (regista di Donnie Darko) ha tenuto a precisare la sua totale non collaborazione (pare non abbia nemmeno letto la sceneggiatura). Anche la sceneggiatura non a caso fa acqua un pò da tutte le parti e racchiude al suo interno dialoghi adolescenziali privi di qualsiasi ironia. Fisher crede che per fare un successo del suo film basti una locandina con il mitico coniglio simbolo del precedente film culto o paesaggi onirici da cartolina, ma non è così. Gli stessi viaggi nel tempo appaiono essere privi di senso e ai protagonisti basta soltanto desiderare di volerli intraprendere per realizzarli. Viaggi nel tempo che vorrebbero giustificare un finale privo di ogni riflessione filosofica e tendente solamente a voler salvare la protagonista. E ciò che più si evince, invece del rapporto tra mondo adolescenziale e cultura degli adulti (come Donnie Darko sottolineava abilmente), è che si parla di Dio, di preti pedofili e di invasate religiose in un plot farraginoso che sa più di un gran calderone di elementi a caso che di scelte ben pensate. In definitiva un film che non va assolutamente preso sul serio per non abbattere i bei ricordi lasciati dal primo film ispiratore. Una chicca ridicola del film è la testa di coniglio (che in D. Darko era una maschera): qui viene forzatamente ricostruita in metallo (il perchè di questa scelta è del tutto ignoto!).

Non era certo facile. Non era facile inventarsi un film che potesse essere un degno sequel di un cult – e probabilmente un capolavoro del suo genere – come Donnie Darko. E difatti il risultato è parecchio deludente. Una produzione da botteghino, certamente non peggiore di tanti altri film ma di basso profilo, una delusione per chi, appassionatosi per il primo film, si aspetti una vero sequel, che possa fare luce su molti aspetti oscuri del primo episodio. In realtà lo stesso Donnie viene nominato pochissimo (due o tre volte in tutto il film) e il suo estremo sacrificio non viene neppure menzionato, rendendo questo un film a se, senza alcun collegamento – ad esclusione della protagonista, sorella di Donnie, e della Filosofia dei viaggi nel tempo di Roberta Sparrow – quasi a confermare che il nome Darko sia qui usato con l’inganno esclusivamente per portare appassionati al cinema.

Samantha, la sorellina di Donnie, ha oramai 17 anni e deve vedersela con una famiglia a pezzi, che non si è mai ripresa dalla morte del fratello. Assieme alla sua migliore amica Corey, Samantha parte alla volta di Los Angeles, ossessionata da bizzarre visioni che comprendono anche quelle del coniglio Frank. Quando nel corso del loro cammino giungono in una piccola città dove è appena caduto un meteorite, le visioni di Samantha e Corey inizieranno a riguardare il futuro.

L’aspetto peggiore del film è la trama, l’intreccio narrativo e il susseguirsi degli eventi, con i protagonisti che sembrano vagare per la pellicola senza meta. Una storia piena di continui sacrifici atti a cambiare il corso del tempo, che ridicolizzano e banalizzano il sacrificio di Donnie del primo film – oltre che renderlo senza senso, visto il contesto e le prospettive.

Non è un caso che Richard Kelly, creatore, sceneggiatore e regista di Donnie Darko, abbia preso le distanza da questo progetto, confermando che S.Darko è più un progetto commerciale che cinematografico. Potrebbe sembrare in realtà più un remake che non un sequel perché il film altro non è che una versione dell’originale spogliata di tutti quegli elementi costitutivi della sua identità tematica e culturale e rivestita di abiti nuovi: abiti più hip, più colorati, più leggeri, più superficiali.

The Verdict: Donnie Darko’s story died with him. Too bad no one told director Chris Fisher and writer Nathan Atkins—maybe then we may have been spared a sequel that adds nothing to Darko’s strange legacy. To be fair, no one other than Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly probably could have concocted a satisfying sequel that would have expanded upon his hallucinatory cult classic’s exploration of teenage alienation, materialism, mental illness, and personal sacrifice. So Fisher and Atkins—who had nothing to do with Donnie Darko—are burdened with the thankless task of trying to have Donnie’s youngest sister, Samantha (Daveigh Chase, now grown up but too listless to hold our attention) follow in his footsteps. Yes, Samantha’s now the one who not only possesses the book The Philosophy of Time Travel but has visions of an impending disaster. Fisher and Atkins move the action away from high school—Samantha’s stuck with a pal (Briana Evigan) in a sleepy town in Utah, which conveniently dispenses with the problem of recasting such Darko family members previously played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Mary McDonnell, and Holmes Osborne. Despite the change in locale, and an early didn’t-see-that-coming tragedy, S. Darko never frees itself from its predecessor’s shadow. Fisher and Atkins are trapped in the dark world created by Kelly where the line between reality and fantasy is always blurred and you never know what’s going to fall out of the sky and send you to an early grave. And while Fisher and Atkins’ attempt to somewhat distinguish Samantha’ predicament from that of her late brother’s is appreciated, it forces them to tell S. Darko from several perspectives. Accordingly, you never feel that connection to Samantha that you did with Donnie. “Aren’t we forgetting about the miracle of storytelling?” Drew Barrymore’s idealistic teacher asked in Donnie Darko. Fisher and Atkins haven’t—it’s just that by telling almost the same story Kelly told so articulately and ambitiously with Donnie Darko, they couldn’t help but set themselves up for failure.

Trama: Una famiglia è costretta a trasferirsi in una nuova abitazione che si trova nelle vicinanze di una clinica dove uno dei figli, che è malato di cancro, viene sottoposto periodicamente a trattamento di chemioterapia. Poco dopo essersi trasferiti però, i protagonisti della storia si rendono conto che la casa che hanno preso in affitto è infestata da minacciose presenze.

Qui siamo ad un Horror titolato malissimo dal marketing italiano.

Da quello che ho letto in giro in fonti accreditate siamo di fronte ad una sola iper galattica che liquidiamo con 2 stars virgola cinque.

Trama: Sequel del fortunato film di Richard Kelly “Donnie Darko”, il cult movie che ha stregato i giovani di tutto il mondo.

Peccato però che il film non sia stato né ideato né diretto da Richard Kelly, che fu il geniale creatore di Donnie Darko, il bellissimo film del 2001 uscito in Italia solo nel 2004, una pellicola perfetta, che, lo voglio dire con chiarezza, non lasciava presagire alcun sequel, e che, anzi, aveva detto davvero tutto.

E che a quanto né so è anche abbastanza incazzato per questo discutibile è dire poco progetto.

Operazione bassa, un vero e proprio scult, anche a giudicare dal patetico trailer che gira in rete, che negli USA non è riuscita ad approdare nelle sale (lì questo film ha girato solo in DVD), ma noi qui in Italia figurarsi se neghiamo sale a film allucinanti (è il caso di usare questo termine) come questo.

1 star e pure incazzata.

I film del 28 agosto 2009 spero di riuscire a postarli in tempo. Magari le trame si.

There are thousands of good actors and actresses all around the world and I want to focus your attention on a few that I’ve discovered this year (mostly in TV series).

JIM PARSONS

I saw him in The Big Bang Theory and his character Sheldon was one of the funniest guy I’ve ever seen on TV. Now he’s currently nominated for an Emmy Award and I really hope he can win because he really deserve it for that performance! I’ve never seen him in other movies but I’m going to do it as soon as I can.

KAYA SCODELARIO

I saw her in Skins and she really amazed me! She’s young but perfect for the role of Effy Stonem. The cast was totally amazing but she really impressed me for her way of acting, I hope she could become a film star in the future. Just a digression… for me she was perfect for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight even if I like Kristen Stewart too.

GALE HAROLD

I saw him for the first time in Queer as folk US (yep not just gay people watched that series) and I really fell in love with him, not just because he was really really really hot, but he’s really a wonderful actor (if he had been just a hot guy, I wouldn’t have included him in this list but maybe in another list lol). Then I saw him in Desperate Housewives and I’m planning to watch something else soon.

LINDSEY SHAW

I saw her in the new TV series 10 Things I Hate About You (inspired by the film) and even if the show isn’t so brilliant (funny but ordinary), she plays her character really well.

LEIGHTON MEESTER

One: Gossip Girl is one of my favourite series (probably the best) and Leighton Meester plays my favourite character… Blair. Two: she’s really a great actress! I can’t wait to see the new season!

ED WESTWICK

Another actor from Gossip Girl. Probably one of the best playing a bastard character (lol.. but in a good way) that makes all the girls go crazy! I also saw him in S.Darko (I didn’t like the movie at all… Donnie Darko was definitely the best) and I like his performance even if I prefer him when he plays Chuck Bass(….tard… lol).
