You think I’m going to say Libby. Which is so enormously UNORIGINAL. I mean haven’t we heard a bazillion times from TPTB that we can all give it a rest when it comes to crazy old Libby? She had a husband named David (who may or may not be the infamous apparition “Dave” who plays a shoe scavenger hunt on the island in Hurley’s mind). Her husband dies and she’s looking to unload a sail boat to epic path crosser, Desmond. All that really remains is how she wound up in the mental institute with her future loveboat Hurley, and that can pretty much be summed up in a sentence. So is there really any more juice to be squeezed here? TPTB says NO, back off.

Alison R(S6) designed the clever poster above for Castlehead’s talent show contest (which was held yesterday) through her Enterprise class. Although I helped her a little with the technical side and some photoshopping experience, the idea and choices were all her own. Her friend Megan posed for the image and I think she has done an amazing job. Her pose gives an air of passion and makes us believe that the performer is not only really trying her best, but is also an entertainer reveling in her success.

The poster information is clear and concise, promoting the performer’s names and giving the onlooker an idea of who and what to expect in the show. A fantastic design, well done Alison.

I’ve always hated swapping motors from diffrent companies. Nissan’s get Nissan motors etc. S30Z’s well they get S6’s. So basically an L28 or a RB. One thing I do like is the cowl hood.

 I dunno why. It just makes a stock Z look mean & dangerous.

My kids are some of the most thoughtful kids I know.  I know you probably think I am biased, but they really are extremely aware and respectful of other peoples’ feelings.  Even with each other, although they are close in age and with each other all the time, they practice compassion and thoughtfulness.  I’m not bragging or claiming this as an awesome parenting victory.  This one is all God.  Superman and I try to model and demonstrate such love, but we aren’t perfect.  You see, when I was “surprised” by my pregnancy with S2, just four months after S1 had arrived, I prayed, HARD!  I prayed for their development and their ability to get along.  God delivered, and He’s offered that same gift to us with each child.  I am grateful.  I’m not one of those parents bent on my children reaching (or racing to) certain milestones.  They’ll get there in their time, and when they need extra help doing so, we make sure they get it.  This, however, is a goal that melts my heart.  My 3 yr old son, who is every bit a rambunctious and wild little boy, came looking in the bathroom for his brother to give him his backpack today.  You don’t understand, either.  This isn’t just some backpack.  For a few months, S5 slept in this backpack.  It is very special to him, and S4 wanted to make sure that he gave it to him this morning.  As I type this now, I’m hearing S4 say to S5, “You wanna try that?” and S5 replying, “Yeah, sure, I wanna try that.  Do you wanna try that?” in his squeaky 2 yr old voice.  All the while, they are including their 1 yr old brother in their fun.  Little boys.  I don’t know if you realize this or not, but little boys don’t act that way a whole lot.  You might at one little boy who is sweet as can be, but put him with another little boy, just one year older or younger, to live and breathe with every day, and it can get tense!  That’s the one area my mom, who is my mommy mentor, has not mastered.  She was a wonderul mother and almost always has the answers to my parenting questions, but she only had one boy.  It’s different.  Just trust me when I say that.  So for Thoughtful Thursday, I’m going to abandon my post and finish listening to my boys being thoughtful of one another.  In a matter of seconds, it could be a totally different story!!!

I attached a muffler to the Z. It sounds 20 times better. Almost like a normal car, an it runs smoother too.

How do you get a man to smile? For example, take him to an island with barley naked models. It promotes the reproductive drive, but it costs in retrospect a lot of family allowances. You could appeal to his hunting instincts and give him the new Audi RS6.

For two weeks I had him with me. Two weeks, this promised a lot of fun. Two weeks and 1.500 miles long, he was “MINE”. And, how I reluctantly gave him back…

Decent grafted – Sporty trim business

Even this appearance. Sporty, but still elegant. At the front on the wide black-guards: the RS6 logo. To provide enough air, the inlets in the front have been enlarged. The fog light now sits alongside the Xenon headlights. This benefits the air flow in the front apron, which was also newly designed.

Together with the wider fenders and the daytime running lights, consisting of ten Led’s, the RS6 announces himself very present in the rear-view mirror of each left-track blocker. In order to save weight, the front fenders and the engine hood are made of aluminium.

Also, the side view is dynamic. Apart from the sporting side, the citizens of Ingolstadt tear with standard 19-inch, optional with 20-inch aluminium wheels, if applicable. The stern also has been optimized. In addition to a broad diffuser, at the left and right oval exhaust tailpipes are used. The luggage compartment is integrated in the flap rear spoiler and ensures reduced lift on the road.

Practicality – Sports lounge

The RS6 is more like a sporty business limousine with a high daily benefit. All attributes of the A6 are also obtained in the high-performance version. So the interior shines and has still a lot of comfort and spaciousness for the driver and front passenger. I wanted to do this immediately.

Already on the first day, the RS6 had its everyday practicality test. There was a larger desk I’ve wanted to buy. This small test the Audi won with flying colours. The already large trunk (546 litres) had, thanks to the split folding rear seat, much room to expand. All desk items fit easily into the giant boot. The everyday life test the Audi has passed flawlessly.

Audi RS – 15 years of know-how

Since 1994, the RS emblem stands for the spearhead of the respective model series. At that time the citizens of Ingolstadt mount the RS2 with a powerful 315 hp five-cylinder in cooperation with Porsche. Audi distanced themselves successfully from the conservative image with the sporty S and RS series of and shone instead with dynamic design and powerful engines.

An Audi, which is allowed to wear the RS logo on the front, presents superior technology. Even the technical data should let tremble some riders of sport sprinters. The Audi RS6 marches with 426 kW (580 hp), if applicable. In 4.5 seconds, he sprints from 0 to 100 Only ten seconds later he reaches 200th speed. Upon customer request, the maximum speed of 250 to 280 km / h will be raised. Even then he still has enough air for more speed.

The power of ten cylinders – ‘Ingolstädter’ Engineering

Who can take the RS6 for a ride, can roughly understand how Superman feels. This enormous power with a bold print on the accelerator, makes sure that the grin stays on the face. Despite the 2 tonnes deadweight, the RS6 has to bare, he advances relentlessly, not least thanks to the quattro drive. With this car, there are no more real opponents, rather pitiful victims. Overtaking are comparable to a blink.

Tiptronic: 3 switch variants

The six-speed Tiptronic behaves in an exemplary maner. Setting the selector to D the RS6 reacts justly for the city, gear changes are barely perceived. Smaller gas shocks are rapidly, but cautiously accepted. Only when one pushes the accelerator, the sporting character of the RS6 comes back to light.

When the selector is switched to S, it moves forward much more aggressive. Nowadays, even a small intermediate push with the feet and the Audi stretches the muscles for a quick sprint.

Who wants beat the switching gears manually, using paddles up and down. Again and again, because then the most beautifull intermediate gas sounds are coming down from the tailpipes.

The interior – luxury sports

The interior of the RS6 is sporty and luxurious. Aluminium bars with initial RS6 lettering receive driver and passenger when boarding. The comfortable leather sports seats with embossed RS6-type, have even at fast cornering a good lateral support. The speedometer also welcomes with RS6 logo and displays a max of 320 km / h.

Decor Elements from Carbon adorn both of the central tunnel and the decorative elements in the doors. The multi-function sport leather steering wheel lays comfortably in the hand and is in reference to racing down flat.

The multi-function keys feel good and give you quick access to telephone, navigation and audio functions. The shift paddles are located directly behind the steering wheel and you can therefore operate good also during the trip curve.

The MMI operating system is a matter of taste and behind the shifter rather poorly positioned. A user-friendly positioning in front of the shifter, as in the Audi R8, would have been a much better choice. Also annoying is the positioning of the speaker control on the passenger side. Thus, the driver is no longer entirely the master of the sounds, which escape out of the excellent Bose system.

The chassis: Comfort, Dynamic or Sport?

The optional sports suspension plus sets itself on the respective needs of the driver, thanks to the dynamics of technology-ride, and guarantees carefree progress in everyday life. By pushing a button, the driver can decide how comfortable he wants to move forward. So in the comfort mode it is very relaxed on the matter, soil roughness are very well spring-mounted, perfect for family rides. The dynamic mode is the optimal balance between comfort and sportiness. This mode makes you basically never get wrong.

If it looks sporty on the road, or even on the track, it should go ahead, just the push of a button and the RS6 is taut and tired on the asphalt. This allows the ESP to be switched off in two steps.

The first push on the ESP Button allowes dynamic cornering with a small security anchor, the second stage switches the electronics completely. But even then the RS6 is not getting worked up. Thanks to Quattro.

That is possible to track with the RS6 in the curves is beyond question. Thanks to the back-heavy drive, drifts are even possible, but only with much coaxing coarse executes. For this discipline, there are undoubtedly better companions. But it is the idea that you could, if you like.

The consumption: cough, cough….

Consumption, as measured by the performance data, is within an acceptable range. On average, the RS6 did it with 17 to 16 MPG of gasoline. In the city the consumption, especially when there are a lot of traffic lights, is significantly high. Values around 13 MPG to 12 are not uncommon.

Who is disciplined with the pedal, the route Frankfurt – Hamburg (340 miles) is possible, with one tank and a consumption of 18 MPG. More could also be possible, but who the hell buys itself some 600 hp to save petrol and to skulk on Germany’s motorways?

Who drives much on highways, may also like some security features. Thus, the driver with all sorts of technical folderol, such as lane keeping assistant, right angle-alerter in the rear-view mirrors and Distance Control feel well looked after.

Brute force – optional with ceramic

To curb this brute power, the brakes must apply at any time excellence output. Ensure standard 390 mm front brake discs with six-piston aluminium saddle. At the rear wheels the brake disks with 365 mm in diameter and one piston-floating saddles are used.

Who is still a little “manageable”, may resort to ceramic brakes, in combination with the 20-inch wheels. This reduces the weight by 12.2 pounds and it holds to 300,000 km. Besides the imposing surcharge, there are huge brake discs with a diameter of 420 mm at the front and 356 mm on the rear axle.

Conclusion: At Audi currently everything is running just beautifully. Both in design and technology, Audi is currently on the fast lane, and certainly with a car like the RS6. Of course we can discuss about the meaning and purpose of such a vehicle, but the fact is that there is a market for such vehicles.

Audi has been understood, to not transform the RS6 to a prole car. Instead, the RS6 is educated and well-behaved and is always good to handle. Also, the visibility was in positive. That is been rare. Ultimately you will probably get from A to B with a 2.0 TDI  – the only question is, who will have more fun.

За: Для начала, у машины есть все, что ты смог бы захотеть от суперкара – разгон, мощность, управляемость. Но кроме этого, есть еще парочка таких вещей, которых от суперкара не ждут, например, комфортабельного салона и возможности повседневного использования.
Против : Опциональная полуавтоматическая коробка ведет себя не лучшим образом на низких скоростях и это, пожалуй, все. Тому, что содержание этой машины обходится дорого, а объем багажника не так уж велик, думаем, никто не удивится.
Вердикт: Делает все, что может потребоваться от суперкара и даже больше. Машина превосходно ездит, отлично выглядит, а сесть в нее – просто удовольствие, не говоря уж о вождении. Она полностью заслуживает самых высоких оценок.

As I mentioned last week, several artists have been commissioned to design a limited range of posters to mark the final season of Lost, celebrating the characters and imagery that made the show what it is.

Well, the latest poster has been revealed – the Dharma Van.

Uh… OK.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and all, but… really? Not one I’ll be dashing out to buy, I’m afraid. If you’re feeling the urge to splurge, head over here and get your $50 ready…

Regarded as one of Japan’s most respected actors, Sanada is probably best known to western audiences for his roles in Rush Hour 3, Sunshine and The Last Samurai. The 48-year old is joining the cast of Lost’s sixth and final season for a “significant recurring role”.

(Minor spoilers and spec…)

Given that earlier this week John Hawkes was cast as Lennon, the translator for a foreign corporation, and Darlton have just cast a major foreign actor, it seems fairly logical to connect the two. That would seem to throw my theory about the “corporation” that Lennon works for being the Hanso Foundation, assuming that Sanada would be playing Lennon’s boss. It would be odd for them to have set up Alvar Hanso as a white Danish guy only to have him played by a Japanese actor, after all!

Whilst it might not be the most ethnically-sensitive casting (although it happens in Hollywood all the time) it’s also possible that Sanada could be playing a Korean; if, therefore, he is connected with Lennon/the corporation then it might suggest Paik Heavy Industries, the company headed by Sun’s father which has some sort of tie to the island.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I think it’s interesting that Lost is still introducing new characters so late in the game, but it’s definitely a move I support. Having such an extensive ensemble cast is one of Lost’s strengths, and each well-handled character just adds another little thread to the tapestry.

Jack Bender, currently a director and producer on Lost, has an impressive string of credits to his name having worked on The Sopranos, Carnivale, Alias, Judging Amy, Ally McBeal and dozens more. Digital Spy have posted a Q&A with Bender in which he talks about the final season, the responsiblity of directing the very last episode, and those rumours about Dominic Monaghan’s return.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje looks keen to return to Craphole Island. Talking to EW at the premiere for G.I. Joe (sidenote; seriously? This was a better choice than staying on Lost? Ok….) the former Mr Eko said that fans should remain hopeful of seeing their favourite god-bothering drug-runner in one form or another in S6, stating:

“Adewale is open for business. We have had talks about some things they might do for the final season and there are other dead folks coming back allegedly but at the moment it is still a maybe. A strong maybe but I have not shot anything yet or signed any contracts. But I’m hoping.”

Those dead islanders already confirmed for appearances in S6 include Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell), Faraday (Jeremy Davies), Boone (Ian Somerhalder) and Claire (Emilie de Ravin).

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how they bring back these characters; I initially assumed they might be forms taken on by the Smoke Monster/Jacob’s Enemy but considering the finale of S5, could the Incident have succeeded in changing history? What if S6 opens with Oceanic 815 making a safe, uneventful landing in Los Angeles with only those characters present at The Swan aware that time has changed? All just speculation at the moment (and if there are spoilers out there, please keep them to yourselves!)

If you spend a lot of time on the popular forums, like the class specific ones at the Blizzard site or the class specific ones on arenajunkies.com, you will notice a lot of doom ‘n’ gloom posts about 3.2 not being too great for hunters, despite many people’s opinion, including Ghostcrawler’s, that season 6 was not good for hunters at all. Well, they’re partly right and partly wrong about 3.2. Most of the time, the patch notes reflect changes that can be construed in one of two ways: “Oh, sweet buff,” or “Shit, why are they nerfing that.”

The fairly anemic hunter notes this time around are changes that aren’t clearly good or bad. They’re changes in the true sense of the word, in that they change the way we will play our class. What was good and bad before no longer really applies. For instance, snake trap was bad before, but now its usefulness is irrelevant, because we can use it on the cooldown without locking us out of frost traps. Without further ado, the official hunter patch 3.2 notes:

Hunters

* Aspect of the Cheetah: Can now be learned at level 16.
* Deterrence: This ability now allows the hunter to parry spells and attacks from behind as well as in front. Now has a new visual spell effect.
* The time that traps will exist in the world after being put down has been reduced to 30 seconds, down from 1 minute.
* Frost Trap: Will no longer “fizzle” on targets immune to snare effects, however Lock and Load will not succeed when using Frost Trap if the target is immune to snare effects.
* Snake Trap: The Mind-numbing Poison effect has been reduced to a 30% increase in casting time, down from 50% to match similar effects.
* Traps now have separate 30-second cooldown categories: Fire (Immolation Trap, Explosive Trap and Black Arrow), Frost (Freezing Trap, Frost Trap) and Nature (Snake Trap). A hunter can have one trap of each category placed at one time.
* Talents
o Beast Mastery
+ Catlike Reflexes now also reduces the cooldown of your Kill Command ability by 10/20/30 seconds.
o Survival
+ Entrapment: This talent no longer works with Immolation Trap or Explosive Trap.
+ Lock and Load: Now has a 22-second cooldown. The Lock and Load effect cannot be obtained on targets immune to snare effects when Frost Trap is used.
o Pets
+ Roar of Sacrifice: Redesigned. This ability can now be used on any friendly target to make that target immune to critical strikes, but the hunter pet takes 20% of all damage taken by that friendly target. Cooldown is now 1 minute, up from 30 seconds.

The deterrence change is one of the few unambiguously helpful changes. It does not, however, mean that deterrence will now protect us from ranged attacks or Chaos Bolt. (Aside: you may have noticed that Paladin judgments are now all considered melee attacks. They will still not be affected by deterrence, however, because they are un-dodge/block/parry-able.) Traps will now fade after 30 seconds instead of 60, but that’s no big deal for arena PvP. Frost trap no longer fizzling is the best news ever, and the fact that lock and load doesn’t proc anymore if the victim was immune to snares should be a non-issue, because we no longer have to save our cooldown until freedom or anti-magic shell or whatever fades, and we can still proc LnL from Black Arrow if we’re lucky. In the case of all the trap changes, I feel comfortable declaring that the pros far outweigh the cons.

I’ll make one point about Lock and Load and then move on to the Roar of Sacrifice changes. I heard a rumor on the test realm that snake trap was proccing LnL. Based on these notes, I think it’s safe to say that that change was a bug and if it hasn’t been fixed for the patch then it probably will be soon. The bottom line is that we will now get LnL procs at least as frequently in pvp as we could before, with the potential to get more procs (unless we’re really careless with our traps and debuffs).

Now for Roar of Sacrifice. The change may seem like a buff at first glance, because hey, we can use it on party members again, right? Not so fast. It seems to be a reworking more than a buff. In the Nightmare That Wouldn’t End season 6, I used Roar of Sacrifice to mitigate all of the formidable burst damage that players in WOTLK can bring to bear on me during a hard switch. In those crucial few seconds before my healers could swap to me and begin shield/hotting/healing me, Roar of Sacrifice was my shield. It made it so easy in fact, that I have been able to get away with wearing very little resilience (500 to 600 usually, sometimes even less), because RoS provided such a huge buffer. Now, however, I can’t just blindly RoS myself on the cooldown, because when I use it it will be gone for one minute, and my party members are outta luck if our opponents perform another switch. Not only is our survivability hurt by this change, but the effect of resilience has been nerfed in that you now require 15% more resilience to mitigate x% of incoming damage, relative to last season. So we’re taking a hit to our damage on two fronts (resilience now mitigates all incoming damage, not just dots and crits, and we can’t afford to use as much PvE gear). Now I hope you see why people are so unenthusiastic about these notes.

I hate to say it, but these changes mix a lot of fixes that should have been implemented a long time ago (pets gaining resilience, etc.) with changes that seem solely designed to help us level out the playing field in arenas. What do I mean by that? Well, Blizzard noticed that cleave teams and Priest Mage Rogue (PMRs) are pretty much the most popular 3v3 comps these days (and 3v3 is all they care about at this point, let’s not kid ourselves). So now we can drop a frost trap on the cooldown and it will go off guaranteed, and it will behave like an elemental shaman’s earthbind totem and root everyone in range?! Cool! Except frost trap’s tooltip said that’s what it did for an entire season, when it did nothing of the sort. I guess it just wasn’t a big priority before the rebirth of Cleave. So we can deal with those pesky melee teams better, and we can shut down any mage’s shatter combo with RoS. You heard it here first, folks, we’re the PMR killers! Not really, but RoS really seems like it was changed for the sole purpose of hindering mages and rogues (incidentally, the only two classes that can crit reliably these days).

How do I feel about being Blizzard’s tool? Well, I wish the responsibility came with a few more perks, like a trainable version of counterattack or a shorter cd on master’s call, and I wish some of the changes didn’t skew so heavily in favor of the one tree which is, sadly, the least fun of our two viable trees to play. But hey, if it means another hunter winning an arena tournament, I guess I can deal.
