Die Salzburger Gebietskrankenkasse bleibt bei ihrer undurchsichtigen Linie, was die Erstattung von rezeptpflichtigen Medikamenten betrifft. Das entscheidende Kriterium, ob die Kasse ein Medikament bezahlt oder nicht, bleibt offenbar der Preis. Die Pharmig weist auf zahlreichen Plakaten in Salzburg auf die Sparpläne der Krankenkasse hin.

“Zwei-Klassen-Medizin vertagt?” so die zentrale Frage der Informations-Offensive, die Pharmig Vizepräsident Martin Hagenlocher und Generalsekretär Jan Oliver Huber heute in einer Pressekonferenz vorgestellt haben.

“Uns geht es darum, dass die Patienten das für sie beste Medikament bekommen”, bringt Huber die zentrale Forderung der Pharmig auf den Punkt. “Es geht nicht, wie von der Salzburger Gebietskrankenkasse behauptet, um gute oder schlechte Medikamente, sondern um das passende, das natürlich auch billig sein kann”, so Huber. Das sei nicht gewährleistet, wenn die Salzburger Krankenkasse ihre Pläne umsetzt. “Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob es die Kasse nun ‘Ökonomieliste’ oder ‘Arbeitsbehelf’ nennt.” Entscheidend ist: 30 Prozent aller laut Erstattungskodex frei verschreibbaren Medikamente dürfen oder sollen – da ist sich die Salzburger Kasse selbst nicht ganz einig – nicht verschrieben werden.

Start einer Informationskampagne

Die Aktivitäten der Pharmig sollen Patienten, Ärzte, Apotheker und Politiker über die Sparmaßnahmen der Salzburger Gebietskrankenkasse informieren. Generalsekretär Huber: “Die Salzburger sollen wissen, dass sie auf das eine oder andere Medikament verzichten müssen, weil die Salzburger Gebietskrankenkasse ein anderes empfiehlt, das ein paar Cent billiger ist.” Mit einer breit gestreuten Informationskampagne werde die Pharmig weiterhin über die aktuellen Entwicklungen in Salzburg berichten.

In der Traktion in Saalfelden sind immer wieder nicht (mehr) alltägliche Lokomotiven zu sehen. Neben der ausrangierten 1245.533 waren Anfnag Oktober auch die 2066.01 und die 1670.09 im Bereich der Traktion abgestellt.

I have finally sifted through most of my photos of Austria, with the exception of Vienna. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I was invited on a three day trip to Salzburg, Austria. We leave early Friday morning (5:30AM) and we arrive back in Freiburg shortly after 10:00PM on Sunday.

On our itinerary is a visit to Salzburg Fortress, Mozart’s birth house, the zoo, and the local salt mines. Naturally, I’ll be taking pictures. It should be an interesting trip!

Although I’m terrible at keeping up with anything these days (writing, photography, music etc…) I feel there are a few things about Salzburg worth getting on paper before I forget them.

This all started with an open invitation from a friend to join him in his travels around Europe (starting in January) paying the way by playing music.

Of course as anyone who knows me already knows. I am no great talent when it comes to the field of music. However, this seems to be a great motivation for me to upgrade my sub par skills on the simple four strings of a ukulele to it’s much more sought after (at least by me) eight string counter part, the mandolin. In hopes of finally finishing something I started, I went on the search today to buy a Mondolin. This brings me to two great points of interest. The first being, I don’t know if I have ever seen so many young people in one city dragging large classical instruments around with them every where they go. From a 20 something pulling a stand up bass larger than him around on a trolley to a maybe 20 year old girl riding her bicycle with a cello on her back. Not to mention the many people walking the streets with brass instruments. However when I think more about this point I realise it is actually not so interesting as this is a city known for music, being made famous by the likes of Mozart and Julie Andrews in the sound of music. What I found much more interesting is that in such a musical town I found only one musical instrument shop, specialising in Asian string instruments.

I finished my disheartening search with only one find of great interest. On my way to the street “that has tons of music shops” namely only the one disappointing “world instrument shop” I walked past a window in a back alley that was full of pictures of naked women. Beside this window a large security door. After a while in Europe you just get used to the sight of brothels and continue on un-phased . And this is exactly what I did, that is until the next window display caught my attention and drew me in closer to have a look at the whole situation. In this case I had a look at the bar, It was called “Jasim Bar” then I moved back to take it all in. In one window, as previously said, was a collage of photos of trashy looking women sliding their lingerie aside for all to see their breasts and whatever else the specific woman wanted to show. And in the other window, about 8 12” wooden figures (not what you are thinking,) a perfect showing of many of the stereotypes the black community in North America has been trying to shake for years now. The whole 8 piece jazz band was complete with short hair, big ears , painted jet black with very large bright red lips to top off the complete ensemble which does nothing but leave images of black face swirling in ones head. Separating the to displays was none other than the large black security door.

Standing staring with astonishment I had to laugh as the realisation swept over me, that no matter how at home I may feel in Europe, and how much I have seen, somethings will never cease to shock me.

Austria?a cool draft beer, gardens with their shady chestnut trees, crunching gravel and rustic tables…Whether young or old – summer is the season that salzburg residents and their guests enjoy to drink their beverages in gardens. salzburg’s beer gardens are almost as well-known as its churches and are a very popular retreat on warm summer evenings. Many hôtel à Salzbourg have theirs own bar where you can enjoy a fresh beer. During the Middle Ages the majority of the beer produced had to be turned over free of charge to the ruling Roman Catholic prince and his court. The beer that did not land on the archiepiscopal table was sold to the public for a high price.

Salzburg’s beer gardens are distinguished by conviviality and enjoyment in a unique ambiance. The most famous beer garden is not far from the city’s landmark, Hohensalzburg Fortress: the StieglKeller, serving its own Stiegl beer produced by of Austria’s biggest private breweries, is only open during the summer and offers a wonderful view over the rooftops of the city. A popular meeting place and an absolute must for Salzburg visitors is the garden run by the Augustiner Bräu monastery in Mülln, fondly called the “Bräustübl” by the locals. They also serve their self-brewed beer, and market-like shops to buy food. You can bring your own food (not drinks!) if you want. Its dining halls can accommodate up to 3000 people, and it has a beer garden with seats for up to 2000 people A tour of the brewery reveals many interesting facts about the proverbs and paintings on the walls at the Augustiner Bräu, which still brews beer in the traditional way.

In addition to these two breweries on the left bank of the Salzach River, Salzburg also offers another special tip for beer connoisseurs: if you walk to the end of the pedestrian zone on the right bank of the Salzach, you will find the White Beer Brewery (“Weissbierbrauerei?. After spending four days in a fermenting vat, the “Hefeweissbier” is filled into bottles, where the yeast lets it age for two weeks. Brewed according to an old Bavarian recipe, the “white” beer tastes best on a warm summer evening soaking up the “Gemütlichkeit” in the brewery garden.

Sternbrau, Eder’s Bierheuriger and the Steinlechner are only a few of the countless beer gardens that let you kick back and enjoy the summer in Salzburg.

If you are looking for something more intimate, then Die Weiße (Die Weisse, Rupertgasse 10), in the neighborhood of Andräviertel might be for you. As the beer garden here is not too big, though, it does tend to get rather overcrowded in the summer months, so you might want to try Raschhofers Rossbräu , which is situated in the Herrnau shopping center. Most of the beers here come from Upper Austria.

Another option for those looking for a cosy pub is the Fidele Affe near Linzergasse.

Wochenlang wurde eine Hauptschülerin aus Salzburg von einem türkischen Mitschüler massiv sexuell belästigt. Geholfen hat ihr niemand, die Direktorin der Schule warf ihr sogar vor, selber schuld zu sein, da sie „sich schminkt“.

Tanja (Name geändert) befindet sich noch Wochen später in psychotherapeutischer Behandlung, nur langsam arbeitet sie die schockierenden Erlebnisse auf, die sie als einziges nicht-muslimisches Mädchen in ihrer früheren Hauptschul-Klasse erleiden musste.

Eine Vorsprache bei der Schulleitung brachte kein Ergebnis, die Direktorin meinte sogar, das Mädchen sei selber schuld weil sie sich auffällig schminke und modisch kleide. Eine Anzeige des Vaters bei der Staatsanwaltschaft brachte auch nichts, die Ermittlungen wurden eingestellt, weil der Bub mit 13 noch strafunmündig ist.

So I wake up without plans again, so I decide to bolt to Salzburgand make my way to Croatia. Pitstopping for a night in Salzburg. So this will most likely be a brief post.

After a quick bite, coffee and search for a hostel. I set off to the train station to get to Salzburg. And walking up that hill, that previously gave spectacular views of the town, was truly backbreaking. No wonder its called backbreaker hill for backpackers. Hectic.

The train ride was smooth to Cesky Bundevice, and a connection straight away to Austria. Where I make my way to the hostel (which happened to be a YHA hostel, which lacked character or any sort of friendliness – very sterile). I make my way down to the store (media markt) to get a camera, yet theyre shut. So I spend the evening, chilling in the ‘lounge’ which was the lobby – reading a book.

ich habe mich immer schon gewundert wieviel ausdauer man braucht um dokumentarfilme ueber tiere zu drehen…seit heute weiss ich wie schwierig es ist ein tier ins bild zu bekommen und zwar auch so wie man es gerne haette, idealerweise ohne ein verwackeltes bild zu bekommen und mit die schaefe richtig eingestellt…schon mal versucht eine biene einzufange wie sie eine blume bestaeubt…und das in nahaufnahme…quasi uenmoeglich…warum brauche ich das fuer diesen dokumentarfilm..das ist naetuerlich eine raetsel dass erst der kinobescuh loesen wird…
