Reviews from Customers

“100% TOP QUALITY MULTI-USE CAMERA”
First let me say I love toys, especially great ones.

As a previous owner of SANYO’s underwater cameras I was very happy when my new WH1 arrived. The first thing I noticed when holding the WH1, is how well it fits in your hand. It’s lightweight, and the simple controls are very well laid out. After skimming through manual, and charging the battery, I loaded it up with an SD card. I then went out to see what it can do. First off was taking still photos in various lighting conditions. Then I took several different videos in my pool. The WH1 is very simple to use, and I didn’t need to refer back to the manual for anything during my first outing with the camera.

After playing with it for about an hour, I downloaded all the pictures to my computer. The still photos were very good. I was especially surprised how well the photos were underwater. The results were very close a top stand alone digital point and shoot might take, the pictures were perfectly fine for viewing on a screen or printing at 4×6 or 8×10. I shot the test videos at 640×480, 30fps, high bit rate, using all “Auto” settings. Again the results were very good. The videos were clear and the sound was good. The camera focused well under all conditions. All in all, Sanyo has a winner here. If you love the outdoors, water, snow or rain. This is the best camera on the market hands down!

I’ve been a loyal Amazon customer for many years. You can’t beat the price, shipping and service you receive. Don’t purchase from anyone else online, you never know who they actually are.

“After every sentence say. BUT IT SHOOTS HD UNDERWATER!!!!”
“Every critisism of this camera you must follow up with the statement “but it goes underwater and shoots HD” For this amount of money your not going to do any better. Most any camcorder your going to need a tripod, and this one is no exception. The features including the talking menu and easy to navigate menus are great. The picture is good.. not great, but then again.. IT GOES UNDERWATER… The image can become shaky eventhough the zoom is quite smooth. The still pictures are worthless, but still IT GOES UNDERWATER… It is a nice color, (I got yellow) and using SD cards is the way of the future. HD 720 Video is awesome. You will need to weigh the pro of being able to shoot underwater with other factors, however, your not going to do any bettr in HD video even if it doesnt go underwater for this price. So you might as well get the one THAT you guessed it GOES UNDERWATER. If your considering any camcorder in this price range, I would recommend this, for having all the right features and underwater HD video is just unreal!! A Great deal, glad I bought it, Everyone loves it and everyone can use it. It has not only an easy mode but the settings most wanna be pro videographers want as well. I SAY put it on auto and go, however I have friends who just insist on using manual settings because it makes them feel more like a pro. Gettng the shot makes me feel like a pro and within a second of turning it on your ready to go. Did I mention the battery lasts an amazing three hours?? It is truly solid and the waterproof feature makes it a solidly built piece of equipment. I recommend this for anyone who wants something that is #1 going to last and #2 is very trendsetting nd unique. Not like the other Sanyo “gun” models, this one can sit on a table. It will also shoot pictures fast. I am glad I bought it and think it is worth beyond the price. Even if your not going underwater, shooting in the rain, water rafting or even snow, you should get this for piece of mind!

If your even considering an HD camera or a SD camera or an underwater camera or even just a yellow camera. THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY!”

“Solid contstruction, water tight even past 10 ft / the 2mp still camera is horrible/ 44MB internal storage”
+ Solidly constructed camera and my first underwater camcorder, the challenges of all underwater devices is adequately fitting rubber gaskets and seals to metal and this camera did just fine even down to 25 ft when I took out on lazy beach day.

+ The menus are well laid out to quickly reach every function category and drill down only or two levels to change anything else. This is very important when considering it is designed to be used underwater where the operators senses are afflicted and it can be challenging for most people to perform tasks underwater. Audio cues even a curt female voice is helpful underwater and out for prompts.

+ Decent flash, bright LCD for a camcorder in this price range and even two camcorder record buttons, one for the thumb the other is close to the lens and easy to click. The 45MB of internal storage isn’t advertised on the box in an age of GB+ camcorders but it surprisingly stores a decent amount of video before maxing out, so far we’ve never inserted an SD card and found the built in storage adequate.

+ Battery charges quickly and briskly, haven’t worn it down yet but also haven’t tried to really pace it out either.

– But, the 2MP still camera is rather useless, even $10 prepaid cellphones have better cameras and we can’t remember images this ugly since the turn of the century. understandably Sanyo had to include some type of still photo capacity with a digital camcorder but the poor quality does more harm than good.

The USB connector is almost a Mini B plug but Sanyo did something weird and flared out the edges to ensure you’ll only use their cable on the side of the corder, more annoying and pointless since it was nearly identical in size and pins to standard USB MiniB plugs.

We had it setup and out of the box in less than five minutes because it seems Sanyo has put effort into the layout of the controls and menus, the impressive construction never gave us concern about seepage and it held up at 20+ ft in saltwater without stress or damage.

From Engage:

Here are some boycotters of Israel after a successful campaign to rid Sussex University Student Union’s shelves of all those mounds of Israeli produce which were there before. But what is this? The feet of our international conscience appear to be clad in Nike. Haven’t these people read Naomi Klein from back when she was good?

And here’s a plan, by the Socialist Action-owned Palestine Solidarity Campaign, to smash Israeli growers and pickers on pretext of justice for Palestinians (who probably don’t want that kind of help).

Anybody who decides to participate in this boycott should understand that they are hurting modestly-remunerated Israeli growers and pickers.

///

Oh, and do you want an ethical microwave?

A further problem – the most recent issue of Ethical Consumer mag had a sunny ‘Boycott Israel Special’ news roundup, in which the only dissenting voice was a tiny expression of dismay from David Miliband. In this jolly little special, they promoted the academic, social and material boycott campaign without setting out what they hope to topple with the boycott (end Israel?), nor the ways in which they expect the boycott to effect this (clerical fascists win?), nor the endpoints for the boycott (Israel is cancelled), nor the difference between avoiding helping the settler movement on the one hand and boycotting all of Israel on the other (the difference is enormous), nor any history of the conflict (i.e. that there are two sides). I found Ethical Consumer deeply unethical, and am almost certain that they would have been promoting a boycott of Jews in 1930s Germany, simply because it was going on at the time and consumer boycotts make them happy. So I find this unsettling, as would you if you were trying to buy in such a way that you did the right thing by people, animals and the planet, and the organisation you turned to for serious input revealed some rather squalid practices of its own. To put it another way – I no longer have confidence Ethical Consumer’s judgement. Good Shopping’s write-ups are undated. Incidentally, I haven’t analysed the difference between Ethical Consumer and Good Shopping. Perhaps they split back in the day… rivalry at the top or something.

So, after toying with a Whirlpool model which cost £100 more and didn’t seem to promise any extra quality, we ended up going for a simple £64 Sanyo model.

Sanyo R227 WiFi Internet Radio (Black) Review We don’t listen to enough radio to warrant a 0+

Sanyo R227 WiFi Internet Radio (Black) Review

We don’t listen to enough radio to warrant a 0+ annual subscription fee, so when it recently came time to renew our satellite radio subscription we decided to give internet radio a try instead. We chose the Sanyo R227 after reading reviews and we’re very happy we did. It’s not the fanciest internet radio going – it (currently) can’t tap into Pandora, it has only 8 available presets (plus 8 FM presets), the menu access and remote control are slightly kludgy, its sound is just good and the manual leaves a bit to be desired – but for our purposes it’s perfect.

Out of the box the setup is fairly easy. We have it about 50 feet from our router which it accesses wirelessly, but you can also hardwire it. You’ll need to manually enter the security key for your network just once and you’re away.

Register the radio at [...] (they make the chipset) and you can create your own folders of favorite stations on the website, as well as add streams and podcasts – all for free. These then show up on the radio menu under “My Stuff”. There’s also a forum at the website which is far more helpful than the manual for sorting out any problem you might have. You can even request a station to be added to the lineup if Reciva doesn’t already have it, although this is subject to the format of its online stream. Reciva has literally thousands of internet radio stations to choose from and growing every day.

The R227 can also access sound files on your computer through Windows Shares and it has a connector on the back for your CD player, etc.

Now the niggles. It’s a bit fiddly to maneuver through the radio’s menu using the buttons on the front, especially when trying to select from the many lists of available radio stations. (This is where the Reciva.com website comes in most handy.) The remote buttons could have been thought out better. The quality of sound from the built-in speakers is sufficient but won’t make audiophiles happy; it does have a connector for external speakers but if your speakers are passive, not powered, you’ll need to add a small amp to get them working. It could also use more than 8 presets.

But considering this technology is still in its infancy, the Sanyo R227 is a great little radio and we enjoy it every day.

Sanyo wants to build bigger lithium-ion batteries to store solar power, and EV battery maker Electro

Sanyo wants to build bigger lithium-ion batteries to store solar power, and EV battery maker Electrovaya targets grid storage for the Japanese market.

Japan already has a lead over Europe and the United States when it comes to storing grid electricity – especially intermittent wind and solar power – in big batteries. Several deals announced recently seem to be set to expand it.

Take Sanyo, which last week announced a big new push into using its lithium-ion batteries to store grid power. By next year, the company expects to have Sanyo smart energy systems (SanyoSES) linking its solar panels and batteries to energy efficient refrigerators, air conditioners and lighting systems.

To get there, Sanyo will both be scaling up its development of high-capacity lithium-ion battery systems and scaling down its market to target stores, schools, and homes, as well as the factories and high-rise buildings that make up its current target markets, it said.

Sanyo was already the world’s biggest maker of lithium-ion batteries for laptops and consumer electronics. But it and other advanced battery makers are aiming their sights at storing solar and wind power, which need storage to back up their intermittent nature (see Will Solar Crash the Smart Grid?).

Japan is home to NGK Insulators, the primary manufacturer of high-temperature sodium-sulfur batteries that now make up the lion’s share of grid storage batteries now in place – many of them in Japan (see Top Ten Smart Grid: Energy Storage).

But the scaling up of production of lithium-ion batteries for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles could bring down their price to compete with sodium-sulfur and other grid-sized technologies like flow batteries, analysts say. Lithium-ion battery makers A123 Systems and Altair Nanotechnologies have set their sights on the grid storage market (see Grid Energy Storage: Big Market, Tough to Tackle).

Sanyo, which is being acquired by Panasonic, also said this week that it’s providing batteries of a different flavor – nickel-metal hydride – to French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroën, adding to a list of automaking partners that includes Ford, Honda and Volkswagen. Panasonic’s acquisition of Sanyo has given it inroads with electric vehicle startup Tesla Motors as well (see Panasonic Set to Make Batteries for Tesla’s Model S).

Another electric vehicle battery maker looking to grid storage in Japan is Electrovaya, which announced this week it would enter the market with Nippon Kouatsu Electric Co., a maker of distribution grid equipment.

Electrovaya is also launching its Maya-300 EV car with help from ExxonMobil’s lithium-ion battery technology (see Green Light post and The Maya 300: An Exxon-Assisted Electric Car). Toronto-based Electrovaya is also working on electric vehicle projects with Statoil Hydro in the United Kingdom, the Tata Group in India and Miljobil Grenland in Norway.

Several battery makers have been looking at reusing partly depleted vehicle batteries as grid storage devices. Nissan Motor Co. and Sumitomo Corp. said last month that they’ll establish a joint venture aimed at just that (see Wall Street Journal).

Even after they’ve gone through enough charge-and-discharge cycles to warrant their replacement in the demanding task of powering a vehicle, the lithium-ion batteries Nissan makes in a joint venture with NEC can retain up to 80 percent of their capacity, Hideaki Watanabe, general manager of Nissan’s global zero emission business unit, told the Journal.

Canon Powershot SX120IS Akhirnyaaaa… kesampean juga beli digicam, setelah bingang bingung milih anta

Canon Powershot SX120IS

I’ll take pasar baru as one of my favorite shopping center, terutama di Metro Atom Plaza nya. Gw beli pas udah injury time tu toko mo tutup, the store supposed to be closed at 17:30.

Informasi harga di toko Aneka Foto
Canon Powershot SX120IS Rp2.615.000
Memory Card Sandisk Extreme III 4GB Rp205.000
Charger Sanyo Quick Refresh + 2 Battery 2700 MAh Rp200.000,
Battery Sanyo 2700Mah Rp48.000
Hard Case Digital Pro A Rp80.000
LCD Screen Guard Rp30.000

Ayah!!” gw kira bokap mau menepi, ternyata belio malah jalan terooosss… huff untung masih lampu merah, sambil mengambil langkah seribu gw coba kerjar lah tu babe guwe, yaakk… tinggal beberapa langkah lagi… and then lampunya berubah ijo, damn! Dan akhirnya saudara saudara… gw ditinggal di lampu merah itu sambil nenteng2 helm pink menatapi bokap gw yang dengan santainya pergi meninggalkan diriku yang malang ini.

Sambil ngarep belio balik jemput gw, gw celingukan mencoba mengenali daerah asing tempat gw berdiri, sambil mikir ‘duh kayanya bokap ga bakal balik untuk jemput gw deh secarrra lampu merah tempat gw berdiri jalannya satu arah, dan klo muter balik jauh + muacet pula, udah hopeless lah pokoknya’. Tiba2 babe gw nelpon juga pas belio udah sampe rumah, Gosh! Napa nyadarnya lama bener yak? He said, “kamu dimana?” sambil full kesel + ditambah lebay dikit gw jawab “sari lagi di lampu merah entah dimana nih, tadi sari jatoh dari motor eh ayah malah jalan aja bla bla bla” tapi walaupun kesel, ujung2nya gw ama bokap malah keketawaan, abiiisss lucunya kejadian itu ngalahin kekeselan kami berdua, sebenernya bokap juga jengkel karena gw ga pegangan dan ternyata daritadi belio ngobrol ngalor ngidul sendirian, pas nengok kebelakang he was kinda ‘lha? Mana anak gue?’ ujung2nya gw nek ojeg dweh pulang ke rumah. But eniwey, thanks dad udah mo nemenin

October 19, 2009 Sanyo made an announcement on launch of its new air purification system boosting th

October 19, 2009

Sanyo made an announcement on launch of its new air purification system boosting the odor elimination speed by as much as three times compared to its previous model. The new model is based on Sanyo’s Virus Washer electrolyzed water technology capable of electrolyzing tap water for creating a power disinfectant effect for air purification. Sanyo has already made an announcement on August in effectiveness of its air purification technology in suppressing the H1N1 virus.

In addition to this Virus Washer technology is effective for controlling airborne viruses, bacteria and allergens such as pollen. Beside the Powerful Odor-elimination Mode, the new VW-SF10C air purification system for professional use features a Dual fresh and waste water tank resulting in saving time and energy according to the company. The Powerful Odor-elimination capability is a result of increase concentration of electrolyzed water as well as the development of the new Dual Fresh & Waste water Tank unit, which enables the recycling and re-circulation of previously discarded water from the wastewater tank. This has resulted in greater amount of odor causing substances to be absorbed by the electrolyzed water, thereby improving the odor-elimination effect. The powerful odor elimination capability was a result of combining electrolyzation control with an Automatic Saltwater Dispenser resulting in an increase in concentration of hypochlorous acid responsible for dissolving odor causing substances in the re-circulating water. In the previous model of Virus Washers VW-VF 10B it was necessary to regularly add salt to purification water tank in order to maintain a certain concentration of chloride ions in the electrolyzed water which becomes unnecessary due to introduction of Automatic Saltwater Dispenser resulting in continuous operation of air purification system. The “Off Timer” function enables users to manage the length of time that the air purification system operates when no one is in the room, thereby helping to save energy. The time can be set for 1, 2, 4, 8, or 10-hour operation. The new VW-SF10C weighs 33 Kg with no fresh and salt water added. It comes in dimension of H:790 W:580 D 297 mm. The new VW-SF10C is not exactly come cheap; the new system’s price tag is at 546,000 Yen. The release of VW-SF10C is due on November 1st, 2009 with monthly production of 2000 units.
