posted by: pol

Sara Tancredi me parece eficaz.

After our dinner the other night, my wife Tina and I decided to have another DVD marathon of Prison

After our dinner the other night, my wife Tina and I decided to have another DVD marathon of Prison Break Season 4 episodes until wee hours of the morning since we’re both off from work the following day. Just like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy and E.R., we have lots of catching up to do with Prison Break.

Our excitement to finally continue watching the series was heightened last week when I learned from my usual blog-hopping that that Season 4 finale showed the main character’s death. Oh yes, Michael Scofield died and my wife is currently grieving for his passing. She was affected and felt she lost a love one too, LOL. FYI, Wentworth Miller who portayed Scofield is one of my wife’s eye-candy. I rest my case.

Its plot revolves on the saga of two brothers – Michael Scofield, a genius structural engineer who intentionally went all the way to rescue his elder brother played by Dominic Purcell who was wrongly imprisoned and was put to death row at the Fox River State Penitentiary, Chicago.

In prison, they encountered other inmates – Sucre, T-bag, C-Note, “Tweener”, correctional officer named Brad Bellick, and the prison doctor Sara Tancredi who fell in love with Michael Scofield.

From its first season to its last, we usually spend weekends, or days-off to engage in DVD marathon. The story has tons of twists and turns. From getting into jail to jail break to being in jail again, a lot of scenarios happened in between the seemingly viscious cycle. It was never boring. There may be loopholes but excitement always builds up when a plan is busted or when they succeeded.

Until its season finale, every scene was gripping. I was already half-awake but could not put myself to sleep completely without seeing its ending. Michael Scofield and his team had to claim “the company’s black book-SYCLLA” for the government allegedly, in exchage of their immunity from captivity. They had executed the plan and did the unthinkable. But in the middle of it all, the lead character’s nose was grossly bleeding every episode just to point out that he has a hypothalamic hematoma which required surgery. It was done delayed. Next scenes showed- their mother, unknown to the brothers to be still alive, has something to do with the Scylla.

It was already four in the morning and we’re already experiencing natural sedation. We decided to stop the DVD to get some sleep. We still have 6 episodes to follow and haven’t seen the finale where Michael allegedly died. In my own quest to end my wife’s skepticism, I surfed the Prison Break official website and scanned the recaps of episodes that can be found in this SOURCE.

It is where I read this :

“Sara calls to Michael that it’s time to go… but the Michael she’s speaking to is a child. Her child, Michael Jr. She says it’s time to go see Daddy. They arrive at a cemetery, where they meet up with Linc, Sucre and Mahone. Michael Jr. puts flowers on a headstone… while Linc leaves an origami crane. Everyone pays their respects. As they leave, we see the inscription on the headstone:

Michael J. Scofield

Dios!! que mal rato me he llevado.

All of the fox original shows, (Hells Kitchen, Prison Break, 24, American Idol) concluded this past week or two, before I get to those I’m going to start out with a four-season series that had its series finale a few weeks back.

Prison Break

Prison Break is an American serial drama television series created by Paul Scheuring, which premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on August 29, 2005, concluded on May 15, 2009 and has a short movie that aired on May 24, 2009 and two more episodes airing on July 21 2009. The series revolves around two brothers; one has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and the other, a genius, devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape prison. The series is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions, in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television. The current executive producers are head writer Scheuring, co-head writer Matt Olmstead, Kevin Hooks, Marty Adelstein, Dawn Parouse, Neal H. Moritz, and Brett Ratner. The series’ theme music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006.

Prison Break revolves around two brothers: one who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and his younger sibling, a genius who devises an elaborate plan to help him escape prison. The brothers, along with six other prisoners at Fox River State Penitentiary, manage to escape, and the second season follows a massive manhunt chasing the group. Dubbed the Fox River Eight, the group splits and members go their individual way, occasionally meeting up to help each other. They struggle to escape from the police while avoiding a secret group of multinationals called The Company, that wants them all dead.

The series was originally turned down by Fox in 2003, which was concerned about the long-term prospects of such a series. Following the popularity of serialized prime time television series Lost and 24, Fox decided to back production in 2004. The first season received generally positive reviews, and performed well in the ratings. The first season was originally planned for a 13-episode run, but was extended to include an extra nine episodes due to its popularity. Prison Break has been nominated for several industry awards, and won the 2006 People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama.

Main Cast

Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield (Season 1–4): Michael is Lincoln’s brother and worked as a structural engineer before devoting full-time to his brother’s case. In order to save his brother’s life, Michael creates an elaborate plan to help his brother escape from prison.

Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows (Season 1–4): Lincoln is a high school drop-out and a convicted felon, who is wrongfully accused of and charged with the murder of Terence Steadman, the brother of the Vice President of the United States.

Marshall Allman as Lincoln “L. J.” Burrows Jr (Season 1–4): L. J. is the teenage son of Lincoln Burrows and is greatly affected by his father’s death sentence. He is forced into hiding after he becomes the target of the people who want Lincoln dead.

Amaury Nolasco as Fernando Sucre (Season 1–4): Sucre develops a friendship with Michael during time at Fox River State Penitentiary, where he was his cell-mate. He becomes Michael and Lincoln’s ally, and provides comic relief to the show. His character’s story focuses mainly on his wish to reunite with his girlfriend.

Robert Knepper as Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell (Season 1–4): T-Bag appears in all four seasons of the series as a cunning, violent and manipulative psychopath, consistently underestimated by those around him. T-Bag will stop at nothing to get what he wants and let’s nothing stand in his way. However T-Bags plans tend to fail much to our amusement.

Rockmond Dunbar as Benjamin Miles “C-Note” Franklin (Season 1–2, 4): Desperate for his family, C-Note blackmails Michael at Fox River to join his escape team. He appears in the series as a major character in the first and second seasons.

Sarah Wayne Callies as Sara Tancredi (Season 1–2, 4): Sara is the prison doctor at Fox River and the daughter of Governor Frank Tancredi, who is linked into the plot that brings Lincoln to Fox River. She takes a liking to Michael and eventually aids his escape. She ultimately joins them on the run.

William Fichtner as Alexander Mahone (Season 2–4): Introduced as an FBI agent in the second season, Mahone’s assignment was to locate the fugitives. Mahone is intellectually matched with Michael and his background unfolds as the series progresses. In season 3 he finds himself incarcerated with Michael in Sona and is eventually forced to become his ally through season 4.

Peter Stormare as John Abruzzi (Season 1-2): Due to his role as the leader of a Chicago mafia, Abruzzi became a prominent figure at Fox River State Penitentiary. He agrees to provide an escape plane for Michael in exchange for the location of the eyewitness to his crimes, Otto Fibonacci. He appears regularly in the first half of the first season and makes selected appearances towards the end of the first season and the beginning of the second season.

Robin Tunney as Veronica Donovan (Season 1–2): Veronica is Michael and Lincoln’s childhood friend and decides to review Lincoln’s case at Michael’s insistence. She becomes Lincoln’s lawyer and appears as a major character in the first season.

Wade Williams as Brad Bellick (Season 1–4): Appearing in all four seasons, Bellick was introduced as the captain of Fox River’s correctional officers.

Paul Adelstein as Paul Kellerman (Season 1–2, 4): Kellerman was introduced as a Secret Service agent working for the Vice President to make sure that the execution of Lincoln Burrows goes smoothly. Eventually, his character changes from that of a villain to an ally to Michael and Lincoln. He appears as a major character in the first and second seasons.

Michael Rapaport as Donald Self (Season 4): Introduced in season 4, Self is a Department of Homeland Security special agent who teams up with the gang to take down The Company.

Personal View

I watched all of the episoders of all four series, and I have to say the first season was outstanding. The best TV show I have ever watched. The show debuted on August 29, 2005 to an estimated audience of 10.5 million viewers. Fox had not seen such success for summertime Monday numbers since Melrose Place and Ally McBeal aired in September 1998. The premiere was ranked first in both the 18-49 and 18-34 demographics. According to The New York Times, Prison Break was “more intriguing than most of the new network series, and it certainly is one of the most original”, complimenting its ability to create a “suspenseful thriller” and its “authentic look”. Gillian Flynn of Entertainment Weekly dubbed it as one of the best new shows of 2005. Due to its ratings success, Fox decided to extend Prison Break by an extra nine episodes, making it the first new series in the 2005-06 TV season to receive a full season order of 22 episodes. The series averaged 9.2 million viewers per week in its first season, and was renewed for a second season.

The second season was good, obviously not as great as Season 1, but it was still a solid season. Mike Duffy of the Detroit Free Press commended the premiere for delivering “rocking good entertainment”, and living up to the standard set by the first season. Duffy praised the “motley crew of cellblock characters” and the “taut, ingenious storytelling of series creator Paul T. Scheuring and his staff.” Robert Bianco of USA Today commented on the “harebrained absurdities that have swamped this show”, and accused the writers of being “incredibly lazy” for the continuous use of the tattoo as an “all-purpose plot fix”. Ahsan Haque and Christopher Monfette of IGN credited the creators for not being afraid to take risks, which they felt “paid off for the most part”. The reviewers found the biggest success factors to be “the constant swerves and twists” throughout the season, and “the development of the hero-villain relationship between Scofield and Mahone”. The premiere of the season obtained an average of 9.40 million American viewers, a decrease from the 10.50 million viewers who watched the series premiere, and the 10.24 million viewers who watch the first season finale. The season obtained its largest audience with the episode, “Chicago”, which averaged 10.12 million viewers; however, the season finale received one of the lowest audiences in the series’ history with 8.12 million viewers. The season averaged 9.30 million American viewers for all 22 episodes. Out of all regular primetime programming that aired during the 2005–2006 American television season, Prison Break ranked #51 out of #142, according to the Nielsen Ratings system.

Now Season 3 is where this series lost all of it’s fans in my opinion. Season 1 was outstanding, Season 2 was pretty good and Season 3 we could have done without. The entire setting occured in a Panama prison called “Sona”, where the characters really did not get up to much event wise. Contrary to Season 1, where although it was entirely held at Fox River, there was lot of character growth and twists. Season 3 had none of that, completely lost it’s touch from the other seasons. The premiere of the third season obtained an average of 7.51 million viewers, and it suffered almost a million less viewers on an average week than Season 2. Season 2 averaged 9.3 million viewers compared to Season 2 at 8.2 million viewers.

They brought it all together in Season 4. Everything that they worked for in Season 1 and 2 went down the drain with Season 3, but they brought back life to the show with Season 4. There was lot more twists, deaths, and cliff-hangers to certain episodes. The great thing was with the series finale, they didn’t leave you hanging. They sealed up most of the loose ends besides a couple minor details, and really that’s all you can ask for. No viewer wants to watch a season to have it’s finale just leave you hanging when you know there isn’t another season. Although season 4 had the lowest weekly average viewers with 5.3 million, and only had 6.5 million tune in for the two-hour premiere, the show still led the ratings among the 18-49 demographic.

The actual final ever Prison Break.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

You might be saying to yourself, why am I reviewing new Prison Break when the show has officially ended? Well if you’ve seen the PB finale, you’ll know at the end it flashforwards four years and we find out Michael is dead. This special TV movie fills us in on the circumstances of his demise.

The “TV movie” picks up shortly after Michael and co. get exonerated. Michael and Sara get married in a very simple ceremony on the beach. While celebrating Sara is arrested for the murder of Christina and is sent to a women’s prison. She is looking at life in jail so Michael decides to do what he loves most and break Sara out of prison.

While in prison, Sara comes across Gretchen and a women known as “daddy” who is the queen bitch of the place, who has a wife and children, children being other women who she looks after. Daddy welcomes Sara into her family and Sara agrees because it’s the only way she’ll be safe. See General Krantz is locked up in the male Miami prison and with the help of T-Bag orders a hit out on Sara.

The FBI have a feeling that Michael might be trying to come up with a way to break out Sara so they offer Alex his job back if he spies on Michael and relays info back to them. At first he agrees but does the right thing and changes his mind. Alex has been a favourite character of mine and to see the change in his character over the show has been great. He’s the one that’s changed the most and for the better.

The real point of this special is to find out how Michael died and he didn’t die from his illness. He sacrificed himself to help Sara escape and this outcome was getting more and more likely as the show went on. Though we find out that he would have died from his illness so the sacrifice was just. It was a sad scene, I knew Michael was dead but the way he went was how a hero should go. I was never the biggest Michael fan, I find that he lacks charisma for a hero but he was hero, he was the main character of the show.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Even though this isn’t my quote of the episode, I still have to mention it, General Krantz saying “If I had a list of all the people that might come to visit me, your name would be at the bottom. Somewhere below Jesus Christ and Scooby Doo.” Krantz was hilarious in that scene with Michael. It’s good to find out he has a funny side.

This reminded me too much of Bad Girls, which is a British show about a women’s prison. The scene in which the women gets impaled on the hook is a prime example of what you’d find in that show.

Dare I say it but this special was better than most things in season 4. I was heavily entertained and it brought back memories of the first season. I remember ages ago that they were going to do a spin-off set in a women’s prison, if it was like this then I would have watched. The series finale was very disappointing but this serves as a better exit for the show.

Quote of the episode: Michael “We’re free now…finally. We’re free.”

Favourite Scene: The video recording of Michael.

So tonight it all ended, it was the final of prison break. I can honestly say that I am completely satisfied with how everything turned out…
I am just upset because even if I love it so much, all good things must come to an end.
If you watch Prison Break, not seen the final Episodes, do not read! I am going to have spoilers…. You have been warned….

One of my favourite Lincoln & Michael photos

So the Episode started where it left off, Michael has been told, by both Christina and the General.
Chose Sara, or Lincoln…..
The pickle of it all is that Christina shots Lincoln, but the General hasn’t shot Sara… Michael not being aware of her carrying his unborn baby….
I pretty much Hate Christina right now!
So now Michael has to make a plan to not only save his brother, but also save His lover, but all he has is Scylla and Alex Mahone.
While this is panning out, we see Fernando being followed, we don’t see who it is, but when Fernando sees him you can tell it’s not a bad guy, it’s none other than Benjamin Miles Franklin, aka C-Note.
He is trying to explain to Fernando how they need to find Michael and Lincoln, so naturally Fernando thinks it’s a set up, but he then calmly tells him about a man set to take The company down!
We soon here C-Note say the name Paul.

Now while Michael tried to make a meet up, he planned an explosion to set off at the exchange, Lincoln’s for Scylla, but little did Michael know she wasn’t going to fall into the trap, having another man catch the trap.
Getting back to her base of operation Christina is royally pissed off, this is the point where I really hate her, I mean want to kill her hate her guts!
She not only informs Lincoln of Sara’s pregnancy, she also tells how she isn’t his real mother, tries to make him believe that Michael doesn’t care enough to pick him, also that she never wanted to be a mother at all.
Then the psycho Bitch, takes her stiletto shoe and drives the heel into Lincoln’s gun shot wound…. I mean OMG!!! GEH!

Back to Don Self who is in hospital due to his daring escape from the company is being questioned by the FBI on the where abouts of Michael and Lincoln, he tried to call Michael so they can get a trace signal doesn’t work as Michael hangs up, to then never answer his phone again from Don, at this point his life doesn’t get easy as during the question, one of Christina goons take him out, giving him a injection into his IV making him a potato.

This is where the real plan takes place, while we are lead to believe that Alex and Michael have choose their different paths, they are in fact working to get Sara and Lincoln back alive, plus not give Scylla up to anyone.
While back at the General’s hide out, T-Bag is with Sara, I love how the fact he is going on and on about having his way with her, taunting her little did he know that Michael wasn’t meeting the General, he was in fact climbing the Building to rescue Sara.
Alex is helping to save Lincoln, this is when we see the real plan panned out, how Michael knew the General wasn’t going to give him Sara, how his mother would not know Alex’s motives of the hand of her not knowing Alex…
The end of part one seeing an Explosion but Christina isn’t killed….

When the next episode starts, we see how the fact of the General not being Happy about Michael getting away with Sara
While the fact that Alex is seen leaving the building with a bleeding Lincoln Burrows.
They rush back to the warehouse, Lincoln doesn’t want to go to a hospital and risk going back to jail, but then his really bleeding, so they go to a hospital to get the things they need to help heal him while they figure out what to do with Scylla.
At this point I am freaking because I hate seeing Lincoln suffer, but while Sara poses as a doctor, going into the supply closet. Another hospital working seems to be heading into the room, Alex stepping to the plate to distract the person, but gets seen by one of the FBI agents who is question Don, he now arrests Alex, while Sara rushes back to the car to help getting into the car, but unfortunately The General’s goon finds them to bring them back to the General to be threaten to give back Scylla.
Little does the General know that C-Note and Fernando are torturing the General’s where abouts out of T-Bag.
The General now put on the TV Sophia being held capture and if Scylla isn’t returned Lincoln will have to watch her be killed, lucky enough C-Note and Fernando save the day, Michael choosing not to kill the General but leave him there to be found.
So we are seem back on track, but Mahone is being question by the FBI not saying anything but trying to convince them that Lincoln and Michael wasn’t responsible for the murder of the Indian’s Prime Minister’s son…

Now it’s the get away from the General’s place where the police nearly catch them but Fernando stopped them getting arrested in the process.
It’s getting nail biting tense as Michael is contacted by Paul Kellerman, we see who is in fact alive and well, I am so happy cos I knew he wasn’t dead!

Now in the warehouse is the ultimate show down of Michael Vs Christina, he tells her to drop her gun and Scylla then leave, or he will kill her. Christina thinks his bluffing until he goes to shot but his gun jams, leaving Christina time to shot him, but Sara shot her in the back killing her, not before she shots Michael in the shoulder….
Now Michael makes the deal to meet up with Paul to which they finally give Scylla to the right people to bring the company down…

With the signing of the final paper work of their freedom was one of the happiest moments, then seeing the General getting arrested for his crimes. I have say I knew the bad was coming….
Sara and Michael walking on a beach talking about their new baby, Michael being happy about being a dad. Then the nose bleed that sealed there fate, Michael saying he loves Sara as they hug Sara is crying, it pans away to Four years later…

We see Alex Mahone posting a birthday card to Pam, but then walking away with Lang, who was his old patner, now his new girlfriend/wife.
Then we go to Fernando who walked into a his daughter’s room saying he’s see her in two days.
We see Don Self a vegetable, panning to C-Note who is loving his normal life…
Then the part I am jealous of, Lincoln with Sophia happy together, he gives her a kiss before leaving her.
Then Sara is shopping she calls off screen to Michael, that turns out to be a little boy, who looks so cute with a fake Tattoo, she pays for some flowers saying they are going to see Daddy…
Then Fernando, Alex, Sara and little Michael Jr are around a grave stone, we see the little Michael put the flowers on top the grave, and then Lincoln places a paper crane on the top of the grave. One by on they walk away, the final shot is of the grave stone, which belongs to none other than Michael Scofield…..

4.22 Killing Your Number

Free.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

The show needed to end because a lot of us had become tired of how absurd the show was getting. If I was honest, the show should have ended after season two or maybe one. Season three was pointless once four happened and the show never got to the heights of it’s debut season. I’m glad to see it’s end because it was a show that was running dry on ideas.

As suspected, the mysterious Paul was Kellerman and he gave Michael and co. a way out. Hand Scylla over to him and The UN and he and the others will get thier freedom. They did and they got the freedom they’ve wanted for so long. The show goes four years into the future to see what are characters are like now.

Alex is no longer with Pam but has hooked up with Agent Lang. A bit weird to see but I liked it

C-Note works for the UPS and seems to love his life.

Sucre has the family he always wanted.

Lincoln is with Sofia.

T-Bag is back in Fox River and doesn’t like a guy reading a book from GATE. Though he’s back to the T-Bag he was when we first met him.

Kellerman is now a Congressman. I guess you have to kill a lot of people to get that job.

Self is a vegetable. Poor bastard.

General Krantz get’s the electric chair.

Sara is with her son who is named Michael.

Alex, Linc, Sucre, Sara and her son all meet up to visit Michael’s grave. When Sara and Michael were on the beach and his nose was bleeding, it was obvious what the future had for him. It was a sad ending but there are questions to be asked. How did Michael die? Did he die from his illness or was he killed? Well normally these questions can’t be answered considering this is a series finale. WRONG. As mentioned in an earlier review, there is a special Prison Break movie called The Final Break which will air on Sky One here in the UK on the 26th of May. It will apparently fill in the gap between the four years passed. We’ll probably learn how Michael died.

This is a sort of goodbye to a show which had a steller first season, one with critical aclaim but sadly became a shadow of it’s former self. While it still entertained and gave us surprise twists. It never recaptured that quality that drew me to the show in the first place.

Quote of the episode: Michael “I don’t want to run anymore.”

Favourite Scene: Four years later. It was good to see happy endings for all our characters, well most of them.

Linc or Sara?

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

I’ve just done watching this episode so haven’t seen the finale yet. Though with only one episode left, I really have no clue about how it will end. So Michael does what we thought he would do and save both Sara and Linc. Well actually Sara is saved. Michael appears in time to stop T-Bag raping her. Linc ain’t safe just yet, Mahone is there to help him, waiting for the bomb to go off. It’s highly doubtful that Christina will die from the blast.

It was nice to see the return of C-Note and good to see Sucre back too. C-Note wants Sucre to find out where Michael and Linc are. A man approached him who can give them back their lives. We didn’t see this mysterious person but apparently goes by the name Paul. I wonder who that is?

What I really liked in this episode was the return of the T-Bag we saw in the earlier seasons. Threatening to do all sorts to Sara. Loved when Sara talked about Teddy’s inability to make love to a woman, that’s why he rapes.

Linc and Alex are still in danger. Is Self dead? Paul? Will all our hero characters ever be free. I’m keeping this a short one because I’m eager to see the conclusion.

Quote of the episode: T-Bag “How would you know what a man is like? Between the two of us, I bet I’ve been with more of them.”

Favourite Scene: T-Bag and Sara.

4.20 Cowboys and Indians

The choice is yours.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

So we’re one week away from the series finale and quite honest, I’m actually quite pumped up for it, especially because of how this episode ended. The finale has been set up and Michael is giving the ultimate choice of saving Sara or Linc. We know Michael very well so there’s not a chance he will choose and will use his smarts to try and save them both. Christina is the ultimate bitch from hell and shoots Linc. He is now bleeding out and has about five hours before he dies. The countdown is ticking to what should be an interesting finale.

Though next week’s series finale is a double episode (ep 21 & 22) and it is being billed as a series finale. If you’ve kept up with Prison Break news you’ll know that actually two more episodes were made, which make the total of the season to 24 episodes. Now episodes 23 and 24 are going to be released in America on DVD and I have no idea what they’re about or how they fit in with the storyline. Well it seems we don’t have to wait that long to see these bonus episodes because here in the UK, Sky One will be showing those two episodes on Tuesday the 26th of May at 10pm. I will review both of those episodes so expect them early the next day.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Killing a women in a wheelchair? Very sick.

Self’s fight with the other agent was cool.

Exploding mini fridge.

So Christina has orchestrated the whole thing so India will go to war with China and she’s going to sell the contents of Scylla to both countries. Right now she doesn’t have Scylla. Will Michael be able to save both members of his family, his other family, his mother is beyond saving and deserves a bullet in the head. It was about time Prison Break came to an end and I hope by the end of the finale, I’m happy with how it concluded.

Quote of the episode: Self “You’re all over the news for killing Ghandi.”

Favourite Scene: Killing a women in a wheelchair and Don’s dive out the window.

4.19 S.O.B.

The Scofield family ain’t a happy one.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

So the real big revelation in this episode is that Lincoln was in fact adopted, no wonder Christina had no trouble of wanting him dead. I’ve always thought that Linc might have been adopted because him and Michael are very different. Now just because they aren’t blood related means shit, they’ve been there for each other on many occasions. Though will Michael tell Linc the truth. If he does then Linc won’t have any problem killing Christina.

So it seems the whole energy conference thing was a huge ruse to frame Linc and co. in killing the son of the Indian Prime Minister. Yes and stupid Linc fell for it, now the show comes full circle again. He was framed for killing the President’s brother and now he’ll be framed for killing the son of the Indian Prime Minister.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Christina is one cold motherfucker and I wished for Michael to drown her ass in the tub. She seems to care a lot for Michael but couldn’t give two shits about Linc. Though what is her real plan for Scylla?

Will T-Bag grow a conscience and not go through with Company’s orders to kill Linc?

I miss Sucre, bring him back and soon.

Some good revelations and a mother being a right bitch made this episode entertaining. Though do we really need Linc again on the run for a murder he didn’t commit?

Quote of the episode: Christina “Don’t move. Or I’ll kill you both.” (referring to killing Sara and her baby.)

Favourite Scene: Michael dragging his mother to the bathroom in order to drown her in the bathtub.

“How badly do you want it, mom?”

–Michael Scoffield, Prison Break

Oh man. I sort of spent the whole episode wondering which of Christina Scoffield’s lines I would use for the quote on top of this post. Each and every one was priceless. From her monologue about supernovas to her expository asides about Bengali, I knew they had added a character I could love to hate. This complicated mother is unnecessarily conniving and then some. Her lines and delivery are cheesier than Michael Rapaport. And that is saying something.

But after jotting down all those quotes, Michael closed the episode with the above-mentioned pearl. And I feel like his tone really gives voice to the questions bouncing around my head. Where the hell is this show going? Who came up with this ridiculous overlord mother character? Is the show going to get super Freudian now? How badly do they want this farce to continue?

Sara’s pregancy test is also laugh aloud funny. Seeing Dr. Tancredi rummaging through a medicine cabinet to find a pregnancy test is comedy enough. Cutting away to like several hours worth of action and then cutting back to Sara as she dramatically checks the result of her pregnancy test. That is perfect.

I feel like Prison Break always exceeds my expectations. I’m going to include some other quote of the week elements for this show. Because I’m pretty sure this show will always deliver.

Self’s quote of the week. (God am I glad that Rapaport has a job again)

“This guy wasn’t trying to hurt you; he just didn’t like your tattoo.”

–Don Self, on Lincoln’s wounded arm in Prison Break

Weird shit quote of the week.

“Bengali has 14 different vowels. It’s a bitch to pronounce.”

–Mom, on cultural relativism in Prison Break

A supernova is not a moment that eclipses everything once every 50 years.

Lame metaphor/simile of the week.

“Have you ever seen a picture of a supernova? They’re quite beautiful aren’t they? They’re very rare. They only occur once every fifty years. We’re a day away from a kind of supernova. A moment so powerful it will eclipse everything, and nobody’s going to stop me.”

–Mom, on totally showing that you don’t really know what a supernova is in Prison Break

4.17 The Mother Lode

It’s back from the break for the final episodes of the show.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

NOTE: I’m sorry this is late but I was in hospital last week and have took time off to recover.

So its been a while since we last saw Prison Break so it’s going to be unusual doing Break reviews again. We all know the show has been cancelled and we’re finally given the remaining episodes of the show. Nothing much has changed since last, this is typical by the numbers type episode.

Michael and Lincs mother has got her own agenda and we find out she’s not a nice person. She tries to kill the General but fails. Why didn’t the guy just shoot the General rather than going through the whole fiasco of blowing him up. Bad guys turning on bad guys = stupid tactics of elimination. Too right that the man was killed for his incompetence. So Lincs mom hires crap people to kill others and probably the sniper that is about to kill Linc will fuck up to.

Michael and Sara hitchhike to Miami which is all very interesting, there’s even a standard Break chase. Michael basically tells stories off his memories of his mother throughout the episode.

I’m glad the show is back because it’s time for the end. I’m looking forward to the final few episodes but this one was just painfully average and was just not that entertaining. I have no clue how the show will actually wrap up but I’ll be there to find out.

Quote of the episode: T-Bag “That’s not a very heavenly thing to do.”

Favourite Scene: Lincs meeting with his mom.

I’ve always thought that thriller stories are only available in novels. In that case, I could only think of Robert Ludlum. But I was wrong. Definitely wrong.

The second season of Prison Break was all about chasing and being chased. My heart was also racing I could hardly catch up. I have to admit, I got carried away by poignant scenes whenever death, or better say murder, was anticipated. More than the obvious anxieties the characters went through, there were also deeper sense to them. Every scenario reminded me of the gravity of life. And I’d say I thank God for giving me a strong heart so I could handle such veracity.

The hunt may have driven me crazy, but it was fun.

There were also scenes that touched me deeply. Seriously, this season is very poignant. I feel sorry for what happened to John Abruzzi. A reaction I also have in The Godfather. I pity Tweener and Haywire. I hate T-bag, but I wanted him to stay alive. He’s like a habanero. You’d love to hate the guy. As for C-Note, I’m relieved for him. I wish Sucre buenaswerte.

Of course, there were scenes that I love. I think I want to call them sweet moments. And yes, it isn’t hard to guess that they’re about Michael and Sara. I like, better say love, the conversation between the two of them in episode 10: Rendezvous. So touching, whatever meaning you give to the word. I like what Sara said. “I don’t wanna be alone.” It was her response to Michael’s, “I don’t want you to be alone in this.”

The strongest people in the world are not immune to loneliness. Everyone needs someone.

There was also this episode where Sara had to make a sacrifice. It reminded me of what Svetlana Baranova did. The Tristan Betrayal. Bon Jovi was right, words can’t tell what love can do.

Of course, who would forget Alexander Mahone, the new guy in the season. I only have one word for him- nemesis. I like his character. Except for the fact that he’s such an analyst, he also got issues in his past. If Scofield thinks about the future, Mahone worries about the past. As a result, they have a pretty twisted present.

And there’s Paul Kellerman. I’m glad that his magazine got jammed. Am also curious about what happened to him in the last episode.

Watching the third season is just a matter of time. I can’t wait for that. Too bad I’ve got some things to attend to. I also need to give the TV and DVD player a rest. I’ve been up till three or four this morning.

I choose to have faith. Because without that, I have nothing. It’s all that I need to keep me going.
-Michael Scofield
