I found a photo of someone in a drawer, and I don’t know who it is.  Judging from what she is wearing, I would say that the photo was taken in the late 80’s to early 90’s.  I don’t think that I know the girl in the photo.  In fact, I believe that the photo doesn’t even belong to me.  I think that it might have been Sara’s photo.  I believe that the subject of the photo is a friend of Sara’s from high school.  I posted the photo on facebook to see if anyone recognized her, but there are no bites so far.

Sorry I have neglected this thing for so long, I have been having the craziest life ever since I’ve been out on tour. This blog will probably be long since I have failed to do anything rad for a good minute, and I think heather is somewhere in the world being awesome ( it’s sort of what usually happens with her) But uhh where do I start? i guess exciting highlight number one was thanks fucking giving!!!!!! I basically cooked a feast of vegan and non vegan fare for the dudes I was on tour with as well as heather, My sister, My Dad and Mom and my Grandma ( who basically just made inappropriate comments the whole time at the dinner table… it was kind of ridiculous) Here are some pictures from the Feast.

The feast included Tofurkey, Turkey, Vegan and Non Vegan Gravy and Stuffing. Sweet Potatoes with Pineapple, Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce and Last but definitely not least- 2 Vegan Pumpkin Cheesecakes. I cooked everything ( except for the turkey and non vegan stuffing and gravy) by myself and have never been more proud or happy about something in my life. I wish I could’ve cooked for every person I love, but the company that I had was good enough for me.

After the Dinner, Everyone went to the short stop for Barmageddon. I had basically told all my friends to meet me at the shortstop and then we pretended it was a big party. It probably would’ve been a huge party had I not spotted someone that would later be a whole entire different story all together. I basically spent what should’ve been time with my friends, getting to know someone fucking amazing, and then later on I ended up in the valley…. long story.

Dårlig med bilder for tiden, men det er begrenset hva man får til når mørket alltid rekker å snike seg på innen stalltiden er der. Det blir bedre til uka though

Tok en økt med Sara på banen i dag; kombinasjon lange tøyler og longering. Hun går veldig pent på begge hender, dog noe stivere på høyre enn venstre. Holdt på en halvtimes tid til sammen, hovedsaklig med overganger skritt-trav-skritt-holdt-trav. Vi er fremdeles amatører når det gjelder lange tøyler, men på slutten greide hun faktisk å trave en hel langside i mitt normale gå-tempo! Flinkeste jenta mi!

Bregoen var bare innom stallen en liten tur for en kjapp puss (både norsk og svensk versjon sådan).

Må forøvrig nevne at jeg er superfornøyd med det nye regndekkenet til Sara! Det ligger som støpt, gnager ikke og blir ikke skjeivt i noen retning – ikke er det for langt i skjørtene heller. Virkelig flott! Det spørs om jeg ikke skal selge et av de andre dekkenene og heller kjøpe enda et av denne modellen gitt.

No, I don’t.

Mum has spilled coffea on her computer.

Awsome! Faboulus! 

I’m not being sarcastic(honest. I swear to cow.), I do think it’s awsome.

Let me explain!

If Mum continue to spill coffea, or we(Me/Mum/Dad<—-(most likely)) realize that it has damaged something inside the computer, we will have to replace it.

A.K.A, give Mum mine. And then I’ll get dads. And then Dad will HAVE to get a new one.

Win-Win-Win situation.

So, all I have to do is stand close to Mum when she is sitting by her computer, then carefully(without her noticing it) make her push her cup of coffea do that it destroys the computer.

Maybe(I mean most likely) you wonder why I don’t simply pour coffea in my self? Let me explain.

Dad (Yes, him) won’t be very happy with me if I pour coffea in it. But Mum, you can almost expect her to do it.

OR (AWsome idea just popped into my head) I can invite Sara to… hmm… have a cup of tea at my(and Mum and Dad and Mao’s) house.

Then I will trick her into using Mums compute(and alternatively push her) so that she can pour tea into the computer.

Wouldn’t that be just awsome?

Unsere Garderobe hatte es mal wieder dringend nötig komplett ausgemistet und durchsortiert zu werden. Und das kam dabei raus:

Zu kleine Sandalen, Sommermützen die nächstes Jahr auch zu klein sind, Sommermützen die nochmal passen könnten, dünne Jacken die erst mal auch nicht gebraucht werden, zu kleine Regenhose- und jacke, und ein paar Schals, Mützen und Handschuhe die bleiben durfen.

Jetzt ist wieder Ordnung bei uns und vor allem findet man was man sucht

Even though Katie hasn’t officially moved out, it has now been pretty close to two weeks since she has really stayed here, and Sara officially moved into her new apartment last Saturday, so for all intents and purposes, I guess that Jim and I are now officially empty nesters! How very weird this is. We knew that this would end up happening sooner than later, especially as Katie turns twenty in less than three months, and Sara less than four. Our babies were growing up, and itching to spread their wings.

Obviously, there are a whole range of emotions that I am currently experiencing. Most are good. I am sad that my girls are really and truly adults now, ready to begin lives of their own, but this is very much tempered with the fact that I also know that they are indeed, well and truly ready to begin this part of their own life’s journey. Both girls are exceptionally mature and responsible, with solid heads resting on their strong shoulders. I’ve got to trust that we’ve managed to equip themselves with the tools that the shall need to lead happy and productive lives. Mixed with this sadness and melancholy is a huge boatload of motherly love and pride and confidence!

Yes, our home has felt somewhat empty – not to mention extremely quiet – since their departure, but there is also a feeling of anticipation and excitement for what this chapter of Jim’s and my life will bring to us. Kind of liberating for the first time in almost twenty one years! Obviously, all of these positive feelings couldn’t be possible had we parted any other way but the way that we did. Their decisions to move out on their own came from a place of strength, and no other place. We parted in the absolute best way that one could imagine – no angry words or fights or any sort of bitterness imaginable.

It is due to this that I can look to the future with great optimism and hope. I know so many children that leave home for the wrong reasons, and I consider us extremely lucky and fortunate that this was something that I knew was unlikely to occur in our home. I love both girls so very much, and no matter what the outcome, they know that they can sleep securely each night knowing that the welcome mat will always be there should they decide to return home, no matter what their reasons.

Getting everybody organized has been the main reason keeping me away from my computer this past month and a half, plus dealing with the preliminary trial of our attackers. This, unfortunately, has not gone near as smoothly as the other, and in fact, the prelim trial has yet to conclude, and has now been held over until the last week of January, next year. Much more on this matter very soon.

Just wanted to stop by quickly to let anyone who still actually bothers following me to know that I am still healthy and happy and right on course with my recovery, and then some…

So another baby has entered the world! Last Tuesday we welcomed Miss Scarlett and Sara’s little girl was born this week! That’s her second and I didn’t even know that Sam was pregnant! Is everybody getting pregnant? Is there something about 2009? Is it the year to be pregnant? Good, glad I never was (or will be – touch wood). Never been one to follow the crowd (not that I’m saying that people I actually love and care about do – yes, I’m being biased and they are the exception – purely because I love and care about them). Will be going to see Kayleigh soon so I shall take her card.

So onto other things… I forgot what else I was gonna say now. Oh. Cleaned out Babs’s hutch and half of Teddie’s today before it got dark. Gonna finish Teddie’s hutch (only scraped out the bedding and didn’t get the chance to scrub it) and gonna do Joy’s hutch tomorrow. She’ll be alright because she has two levels in hers. I had to put a pair of gloves on because my hands got cold. What am I gonna be like when it’s really winter? Not looking forward to it at all. Last year, they were inside! This was before they decided that they hated each other and I had to separate them. My dad is gonna be putting more tarpaulin stuff on the hutches for more insulation. They have a cover that comes down the front and hopefully it won’t be as cold as it was last year. I do love my bunnies. See, they are my babies, I don’t need a real, actual baby. They’re so cute and I love their fur, it feels like velvet (Rex rabbits are known as the Velveteen Rabbit). They’re slowly losing their brown summer fur as they’re moulting. They’re actually completely black but developed a brown tint. They’ll be two in April.

I got an ulcer and it bloody hurts. If it still hurts tomorrow, I’m gonna get my dad to get me some Bonjella, unless we’ve got some. Which I doubt actually.

Had a really horrible dream about Selsey yesterday morning. I dreamt that the sea had come right over and the Waterfront Complex was filled with water. All you could see of the park was the sea and the toilet blocks poking out. It was so vivid and I could hear the roar of the sea and the sound of the helicopter blades. Looking closer, I saw a man diving and he had two kids with him. It made me sad cos it really will happen some day and there’s nothing we can do about it. I woke up thinking it had actually happened it was that vivid! Mum and Chris reckoned it was because it was really windy and rainy. Subconciously, that’s what I associate it with. Also, Chris’ greenhouse blew across the patio and knocked over one of his coldframes, knocking his plants to the floor. He was not impressed.

Onto the weather actually. The floods in Cumbria have been terrible. Absolutely devastating and I just could not imagine what they are going through! How awful for them

Oh, talking about dreams, I saw Jazz and Angelo from my story in one this morning and they were together. I just felt like, “aww! They’re my creation and I miss them. Must start writing again!” so yes, I will. My dream made it seem almost as if they were real and not in my head or on Microsoft Word paper.

I feel a bit better after eating that sandwich, I feel less dizzy. All I’ve had to eat today is dinner and I didn’t eat all of that. Weirdly. I’ve lost my appetite and haven’t lost any weight. Which is good, cos I don’t want to. I haven’t spent the last four years putting weight on just to lose it again. I was at my thinnest in 2005. I weighed seven stone and when I see pics of myself from then I cringe! It’s not cos I wanted to be thin, I just couldn’t be bothered to eat. Still feel that way now sometimes. I’m eight stone seven now and it suits me much better. I still want to put on a little more weight cos I’m not happy with it yet. Plus, I want a bit more fat on my hips for when I get my tattoo next year . I lost about a stone in March 2008 cos Chris was a div but I gained it back (and more) pretty quickly. Some of my old clothes fit me much much better now. I have 3 pairs of jeans I’ve had since about 2001 and they fit me now! They never did before. My famous hippy jeans (had them from around 2001 too) fit me like they’re supposed to now. I swear, I would live in them if I could! I adore them and the bottoms of them are frayed and they’re stonewashed now, as opposed to the blue colour they were before. Martin said that on the video of the BBQ in 2003, you can see them hanging on the line.

No voy a hablar como crítica televisiva porque este tipo de series no las vería jamás pero esta, en particular, me impactó profundamente. Su proceso, sus palabras, las palabras de el maltratador, su llanto, la violación, como coloca los dedos de los pies mientras es violada intentando canalizar el dolor sin que él note algo… el primer golpe, la primera reacción. Mi vida y la de muchas mujeres.

Qué fuerte ver como hasta el más mínimo detalle pueden verse reflejados en un tv movie de bajo presupuesto…Mi ex también hacía eso, mi ex también me miraba los mensajes en el móvil y me decía que yo podía mirar en el suyo, también me decía que algo no me lo pusiera y si no le hacía caso me decía que me quedaba fatal para que yo solita me lo quitara…y también me violaba, una y otra vez sin vergüenza, sin arrepentimiento.

Y yo perdonaba porque le quería, perdonaba porque él sufría por su vida miserable, perdonaba porque soñaba con que podría cambiarlo y perdonaba porque me había acostumbrado.

Que triste pero la realidad es que muchas mujeres sí estamos solas y por eso no denunciamos…

Heute ging es für dieses Jahr wieder los.

Und Sara ist bestens gerüstet, auch wenn die Schürze noch etwas groß ist (die hat die Mama vor vielen, vielen Jahren in der Schule genäht )

Sara hat mit Begeisterung die Plätzchen ausgestochen und hat sich über jedes Neue persönlich gefreut. Am liebsten waren ihr die ganz kleinen Formen. Aber für das erste mal hat es schon gut geklappt.

Und das Streusel drauf machen war natürlich noch besser. Vor allem weil jede zweite Ladung in ihrem Mund landete

I går fikk jeg fanget nye regndekken til begge hestene, så i dag ble det uttesting av dem Sara sitt passa -perfekt-, mens Brego sitt var en smule langt, men ikke verre enn at det funker. Kjøpte 115 til ham; 110 hadde nok vært perfekt tenker jeg, men det hadde de ikke noen flere igjen av.

Pakka på Sara med reflekser, sele og vogn med lys, dytta på meg refleksvest og hunden refleksdekken, og hadde planer om å kjøre en liten tur. “En liten tur” ble til 2,5 timer… Stort sett skritt though, siden store deler av turen foregikk på asfalt; jeg testa ut ei rute som jeg bare har kjørt en gang før, og oppdaga at de hadde rukket å asfaltere store deler av veien siden sist vi var der

Bregos sår så ok ut, helt til jeg spylte det og han på et eller annet vis klarte å gå på hånda mi sånn at jeg fikk omtrent hele tommelen min inn i såret hans… Ikke spør hvordan det er mulig, you had to be there. Han blødde som en gris i et par minutter, men det stoppet heldigvis opp av seg selv. Stakkars lille kløna mi!

Dette er min gode venninne Sara Elisabeth. Man kan på mange måter, og av mange grunner, tro at hun er litt tilbakestående og funksjonshemmet, men det er hun ikke. Hun er bare ei meget spesiell jente som elsker å gjøre seg selv til narr. Hun fyller skolehverdagen min med morsomheter og latter. Jeg merker fort, allerede på bussen, om sara er tilstede eller ikke. Skoledagene er ikke de samme uten henne. Selv om jeg også har andre morroklumper som skaper latter i hverdagen, er det ikke det samme uten Sara!

Knep och knåp det här med blogg och inställningar men nu så..

Igår fick vi vår första information om vårens projektarbete! Som tur är har jag och Amanda redn bestämt oss för vad vi ska göra och vi har stöd från många håll.

I början tänkte vi att vi skulle ta en rodtrip upp til Norge för att fota naturen där, men när vi insåg att det var bra att ha  en bil för att genomföra den planen så släppte vi det ganska snabbt.

I början av Oktober fyllde Röda Korset Röra/Torp 90år här på Orust. Jag och Amanda ställde upp idiellt för att hjälpa till att servera under middagen.
Dock när vi kom dit möttes vi utav mormor efter mormor. Alla orust gamlingar ar samlade på ett och samma ställe.
Efter att ha observerat ett tag kom vi på den lysande ideén om att försöka få mer ungdomar till Röda Korset. Jag själv vet inte så mycket om det och inte Amanda heller.

Vi kom på den brilijanta ideén att ta till våra marknadsföringserfarenter och försöka värva ungdomar till att bli medlemmar. Ordförande AnnKristin Skoglund blev mycket överraskad men posetiv till idén.

Igår efter mötet ringde jag upp Anki som gärna ville hjälpa oss att hjälpa dom. problemet nu är hur vi ska få in foto i det här arbetet men det måste gå att lösa på något sätt.

Nu är vi iallafall igång och nu kör vi!

Questa settimana la mamma si è fissata coi porri, ha letto che fanno bene alla circolazione del sangue e che prevengono gli infarti… Quindi a casa mia questa è stata la settimana dei porri, e questo non mi è affatto dispiaciuto
Oltre al risotto (che a breve posterò), ho adocchiato un paio di ricettine, una di Fabien, che sicuramente testerò prima o poi (con relativo link), e una di Sigrid, direttamente dal Cavoletto di Bruxelles, che ho effettivamente testato… per la goduria generale dei palati della famiglia
La ricetta di Sigrid la trovate a questo link: sono le Mini-quiches con Porri, Taleggio e Cumino; vi riporto qui la ricetta con le mie piccole modifiche che sono occorse (un po’ per gusto personale, un po’ per esigenza) durante la preparazione:

INGREDIENTI (per 6 persone)
pasta brisè (la mia era una confezione di 210 gr.)
3 porri
200 gr. di taleggio
1 cucchiaio di parmigiano grattugiato
2 uova
200 ml di panna da cucina
1 cucchiaino di cumino
1 cucchiaio di ghee (se non l’avete usate il burro normale)
sale
pepe

PREPARAZIONE
Tagliate i porri (eliminando foglie e radici) a rondelle di circa 1 cm di spessore e fateli appassire in padella insieme col ghee (che secondo me col cumino ci sta meglio del burro – sarà che il ghee è usato prevalentemente in India, il cumino idem.. – però sono scelte personali, e poi ne ho un barattolone che mi sa che sta per scadere…) ed il cumino. Teneteli sul fuoco per circa 5 minuti, poi lasciateli freddare. Nel frattempo stendete la pasta brisè e ricavatene 6 dischi, con i quali rivestirete 6 stampini da budino (io ho lasciato la carta da forno della pasta brisè, senza imburrare gli stampini… secondo me è il modo migliore per non farli attaccare e per estrarli dagli stampini con estrema semplicità!). A questo punto mescolate in una ciotola la panna, le uova, il parmigiano, un po’ di pepe e due pizzichi di sale. Ponete uno strato di porri alla base degli stampini (lasciatevene un po’ per dopo!), ricoprite con una fetta di taleggio (anche questa spessa 1 cm) e quindi versate il composto preparato con la panna, le uova e il parmigiano. “Affogate” (perché il composto è liquido!) gli ultimi porri rimasti negli stampini, quindi infornate nel forno già caldo a 180° C per 50 minuti. Il tempo è lungo, ma così la pasta brisè ha potuto cuocere bene, oltre che sopra, anche sotto ed ai lati; le quiches si sono gonfiate tipo muffins, si sono spaccate sulla parte superiore e quindi hanno potuto cuocere benino anche dentro. Non preoccupatevi: appena le togliete dal forno si sgonfiano immediatamente, e si “richiudono”
