Die erforderliche Energie bezieht die Fernbedienung aus Piezoelemente die in die Tasten eingebaut sind. Zwar sind diese zur Zeit noch etwas groß, sollten aber bereits 2011 marktreife erreichen.

The Obama administration announced today that it will not seek to arrest medical marijuana users and suppliers as long as they conform to state laws, under new policy guidelines to be sent to federal prosecutors Monday 19th October. A 3-page memo spelling out the policy is expected to be sent Monday to federal prosecutors in the 14 states which allow some use of marijuana for medical purposes, and also to top officials at the FBI and the DEA.

According to officials, the memo is designed to give a sense of prosecutorial priorities to U.S. Attorneys in the states that allow medical marijuana. It notes that cannabis sales in the United States are the largest source of money for violent Mexican drug cartels, but adds that federal law enforcement agencies have limited resources – It emphasizes that prosecutors have wide discretion in choosing which cases to pursue, and says it is not a good use of federal manpower to prosecute those who are without a doubt in compliance with state law.

And while the policy memo describes a change in priorities away from prosecuting medical marijuana cases, it does not rule out the possibility that the federal government could still prosecute someone whose activities are allowed under state law. Two Justice Department officials described the new policy to The Associated Press, saying prosecutors will be told it is not a good use of their time to arrest people who use or provide medical marijuana in strict compliance with state laws. The new policy is a significant departure from the Bush administration, which insisted it would continue to enforce federal anti-pot laws regardless of state codes. Fourteen states (Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington) currently allow some use of marijuana for medical purposes with more States expected to follow suit in the near future. California remains unique among those for the presence of dispensaries – businesses that sell marijuana and even advertise their services.

Attorney General Eric Holder said in March that he wanted federal law enforcement officials to pursue those who violate both federal and state law, but it has not been clear how that goal would be put into practice. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss any legal guidance before it is formally issued. Officials were keen to stipulate that the government will still prosecute those who use medical marijuana as a cover for other illegal activity. The memo particularly warns that some suspects may hide old-fashioned drug dealing or other crimes behind a medical marijuana business. In particular, the memo urges prosecutors to pursue marijuana cases which involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or other crimes. Medical marijuana advocates have been anxious to see exactly how the administration would implement candidate Barack Obama’s repeated promises to change the policy in situations in which state laws allow the use of medical marijuana. Shortly after Obama took office, DEA agents raided four dispensaries in Los Angeles, prompting confusion about the government’s plans.

I can’t stop thinking about LA. I’ve been spending the last month and a half working for a dispensary in Nor Cal. I had to part ways with them for several reasons, but that’s kind of how things can turn out in this business. The act of helping patients obtain their medication isn’t sinister but selling marijuana, even in a boutique setting, can be. I have been told by more than one person that this industry can attract some shady people. I have now had a personal encounter that has affirmed this belief.

I was really looking forward to the prospect of growing with a new collective, selling top shelf medical grade cannabis out of bourgeois glass containers and hitting a OG Kush/Jackpot filled Digi Volcano Bag with one hand and an overpriced San Francisco Vegetarian Salad Wrap in the other on my lunch breaks. Now I am too depressed to realize what spending $60 on frozen dinners at Safeway actually means when you’re a crafty half Sicilian lady who was raised by a Depression Era self educated chef. Should I jump ship, move to Los Gangeles, lose 50 stoner pounds, and live the hedonistic lifestyle that I desperately need after a very Catholic childhood or stay here in the Bay Area and hope for the best?

I have decided to just go to LA every couple weeks instead, and as usual, try not to be a whore.

Overview

This is it, the legendary Jack Herer strain: a hybrid of Haze, Northern Lights #5 and Skunk #1 originating from Sensi seeds.  If winning the Cannabis Cup and being named after one the greatest marijuana activists isn’t enough proof of it’s legendary status, one hit off the bong or vaporizer will reassure you that this isn’t a run-of-the-mill strain.  “Super Sativa” is certainly a fitting term.

Sensory

Pungent and sweet citrus smell.  Vapors are medium-smooth with mild citrus undertones and a heavy pine flavor.  Coughing is minimal.

High

As you can see by the photo we provided, the bud is heavy with crystals and resin.  Although not the hairiest strain out there, the trichomes on the Herer nugs pack a punch and the high hits you swift and heavy.  Functionality while high is about medium; it doesn’t sidetrack you heavily or completely put you out of mental commission, but a hazy cloudiness accompanies the exhilarating rush.

This is truly one of the most most positive-feeling strains out there.  Paranoia and negativity are at a minimum while laughter and spontaneity are at their peak.  You will most likely find yourself very talkative and even articulate.  When grown and harvested properly, it is a strong anti-depressant and in good company, worries and anxiety dissolve quickly.  Depending on how much you inhale, the high should last fairly long (2.5 hrs+) while the come-down is smooth and easy.    Jack isn’t a sleep-inducer, so make sure you give him a few hours before bed, or you may find yourself up past bedtime.

That’s the good news for us medical marijuana patients.  The Hummingbird Healing Center is close to St. Joseph’s Hospital and near the bus.

Thanks to the stupidity of the Eureka City Council and City Manager this dispensary will provide NO TAX REVENUE to our cash strapped city because it is located OUTSIDE the city limits.

Way to go.  Now maybe these idiots will come to their senses and allow reasonable medical marijuana in the city that is the capitol of the Emerald Triangle.  One can only hope for intelligence in government.  Of course I mean institutional stupidity.  Councilmember Linda Atkins brought this forth courageously a few months ago and I hope she revisits it now that the dank is out of the bag.

San Diego Medical Marijuana Providers Latest Target as Aggressive Raids Continue

Enforcement action occurs the day after approval of San Diego medical marijuana task force

San Diego, CA — Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the nationwide patients’ rights advocacy organization, received reports today of several medical marijuana raids in the San Diego area by federal and local law enforcement. Today’s raids by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, with the support of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), occurred only a day after the San Diego City Council voted 6-1 to implement a medical marijuana task force to help the city draft local laws.

“Not only does the federal government have no place helping to enforce state and local medical marijuana laws,” said ASA California Director Don Duncan. “Local officials must regulate medical marijuana and enforce those laws with civil actions, not with the barrel of a gun.” According to local media, the raids were part of an ongoing investigation involving San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, a notorious opponent of medical marijuana. “It is incumbent on District Attorney Dumanis to help pass local regulations in San Diego not to aggressively undermine safe access to medical marijuana,” continued Duncan.

Law enforcement was reported handcuffing and detaining several people on the scene of more than a half dozen raids. In typical fashion for such raids, medical marijuana, cash and other property has been seized. No violations have been alleged at this time. For years, safe access to medical marijuana in San Diego has been resisted by local officials, repeatedly calling on the federal government to conduct raids. In 2007 and 2008, continued federal and local raids forced the closure of more than 20 medical marijuana dispensing collectives. However, after the California Attorney General issued medical marijuana guidelines in August 2008, recognizing the legality of dispensing collectives, medical marijuana providers began operating again in San Diego.

Two weeks ago, the California Senate voted 23-15 on a resolution urging the federal government to end medical marijuana raids and to “create a comprehensive federal medical marijuana policy that ensures safe and legal access to any patient that would benefit from it.” Senate Joint Resolution (SJR) 14, introduced in June by State Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) seeks to keep local enforcement in the hands of local officials and calls on Congress and the President to move forward with a new federal policy on medical marijuana.

Despite a presidential campaign promise made by Barack Obama, that he will not “be using Justice Department resources to try to circumvent state laws,” federal raids have continued under his Administration. “It’s of utmost importance that the Obama Administration give deference to local officials to implement local and state medical marijuana laws,” continued Duncan.
