I am not really a lover of the Original Hot Dog; but that definitely doesn’t mean that I can’t eat one. There can be so many variations of a hot dog. You can make it with veggies, egg, meat, chicken or fish. So in this post I wont give you a detailed recipe, but just some ideas for variations.

Follow these 5 steps:

Step 1:

Get some hot dog buns

Step 2:

Choose your filling

Vegetarian:

Sautéed Onions with Baked Beans and Corn

Spinach and Corn topped with Cheese

Mashed Potatoes and Paneer with Mixed Herbs

Tomato, Cucumber, Onion and Lettuce

Olives, Jalapeños, Onions and Cheese

Eggs:

Butter Scrambled Eggs

Masala Omelette

Masala Burji (This is basically the indian style scrambled eggs)

Mashed Egg with Cream, Mayonnaise and Mustard Powder

Non-Vegetarian:

Minced Mutton

Butter Chicken

Curried Chicken; It could be south indian in style or mexican

Salami and Onions

Step 3:

Season it well with salt, pepper, chilli flakes, mixed herbs, garlic powder, or any other seasoning that you like

Step 4:

Sauce it up! You can use tomato sauce, chilli sauce, BBQ sauce, red onion sauce, mustard sauce, mayonnaise, piri piri sauce, HP sauce or any other sauce in your cupboard.

Step 5:

Eat it

Sautéed Onions with Baked Beans and Corn

I like celery since it’s one of the foods that helps you burn calories. However, celery could get old pretty fast so I looked up this recipe to consume celery faster.

The original recipe is here. It uses cucumber and celery but when I was making this, I only had celery with me and it’s fine.

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

Canned Tuna

Celery

Worcestershire sauce

Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip (I always like Miracle Whip better)

Lemon juice

Bread/Crackers of your choice

Optional: Chili sauce if you want a little kick (My recent addiction is the Pepper Plant hot chili sauce)

Procedure:

Chop celery into very fine pieces

Drain the canned tuna

In a mixing bowl, mix celery, tuna, Worcestershire sauce, mayo, and lemon together

Mix in chili sauce if you want to add a kick to it

Note:

In the picture, I used the spread to make a melted cheese tuna sandwich

You could make this spread ahead of time

Enjoy~
