Following Jigsaw’s grisly demise, Mark Hoffman, the final apprentice to the serial killer is deigned a hero. Meanwhile, Agent Strahm is tested and puts the pieces together. While Strahm realizes that Hoffman is helping Jigsaw, five seemingly unconnected people face a horrible lesson about teamwork.Strahm follows all the leads he can get off Hoffman, including the death of his sister and why he joined Jigsaw. Este estupido comentario no contiene spoilers, sin embrago da algunas pistas sobre la cronologia de la pelicula.

Ser la sexta parte de una película no es fácil, ser la sexta parte de Saw es una responsabilidad muy grande, responsabilidad de la que esta película victoriosa. Y es que a pesar de sus fallas, esta película recupera la escencia que se notaba algo perdida desde la cuarta parte y cierra casi perfectamente un ciclo en la saga. Se podría decir que es similar a Saw III (para mi, la mejor) en el aspecto de cerrar círculos y despejar dudas que pudieron haber quedado abiertas incluso desde antes de que Jigsaw pusiera a prueba su primer victima.

Los flashbacks son muchos en cantidad, pero todos son importantes dentro de la saga. Ya sea para entender como la obra de Jigsaw fue tomando forma y entender que desde un principio su obra es un concepto que estallo con la muerte de su hijo y se retorció con su enfermedad. O para mostrarnos la relación entre personajes que creíamos que no la tenían, una relación de odio, desconfianza, celos o indiferencia que hay entre los protagonistas.

El tema de las trampas, estas se desarrollan dentro de la línea argumental “principal”, son mas moralistas que en las películas anteriores y al involucrar a mas de una persona en peligro de muerte se muestra la competencia entre ellas, llegando a matar o dejar morir para salvar la propia vida y la voluntad de vivir se convierte en un constante grito de suplica por no ser la siguiente victima del juego.

El enfrentamiento entre los jugadores convierte al asesino en una especie de testigo, obligando a que ellos tomen la decisión y hagan el sacrificio final para poder vivir, una de las bases de la fiolosofia de Jigsaw.

En conclusión esta película cierra perfectamente la segunda trilogía y podría decirse que cierra completamente la obra de Jigsaw.  Incluso a tal grado de que el, podría dejar de ser el protagonista absoluto de las siguientes secuelas.

Para mi, se lleva los 9 pezones.

A escasas 3 semanas (nótese el sarcasmo) de que “El Juego Del Miedo 6” fuera estrenada en solamente parte de la republica mexicana, mañana viernes 13 de noviembre por fin llegara a los cines de Monterrey. El estreno ya es oficial, pues asi esta anunciada en las paginas de Cinepolis y MMCinemas para esa fecha.

Así que a partir de este fin de semana podremos disfrutar de las nuevas trampas y los giros de tuerca de la película que cierra la segunda trilogía de la saga.

¿Lo bueno de este viernes 13? Aparte del ya comentado (y muy excitante) estreno de Saw VI; es que “Los Abrazos Rotos” también podrá verse desde este fin de semana en los cines de todo México.

The last thought that likely comes to mind when thinking about the Saw films is subtlety.  Most have passed the series off as a mere collection of torture porn while certain fans enjoy it for the thrills and storyline.  Either way, the series has left a bit of a mark on film viewers one way or another; and it seems we’re going to keep getting new installments each year.  Subsequently, Saw 6 was just released in theaters this weekend and although we don’t have a review for it, what we will provide are our individual thoughts on the series.  Grit your teeth and read on, if you dare.

Matt’s Take

As one who could be called the “casual man,” it’s needless to say that the Saw films have never appealed to me.  I had a tough enough time watching the traps from the first film, let alone all five up until this point.  While Jigsaw was always an interesting character and the story-when actually presented-wasn’t half bad, it’s still tough for me to even tolerate these screaming gore fests.  All of that said, if I had to pick which installments I thought were the best I’d likely say the first two since the first film had more focus on the characters talking and the story as opposed to the traps.  As for Saw 2, I liked the setting that the characters were put in…until they faced their traps that is (I couldn’t bring myself to watching the needle pit).  Saw 3 was pretty forgettable by comparison, but the gore was still quite gut-wrenching.  Then there’s the last two which really made me lose what little care I had for the story (especially the fifth film).  To this day I still don’t understand why people watch the Saw films.  Maybe they like the torture scenes or dig the storyline somehow.  I’ll probably never truly know or understand but hey, if horrific traps are to your liking then good for you.

Greg’s Take

You could call me the odd man out when talking about the Saw films.  I’ve found them to be (mostly) engaging and interesting, even without the torture scenes.  The points each film try to make on the main characters with the scenarios they’re put in are either obvious or a bit more dimensional.  And since these parts are usually eye-popping you’re guaranteed to be paying full attention when the “game begins.”  But what kept me coming back were the storylines and finding out what would happen to the characters.  Unfortunately, after the third film, I’ve about lost my interest in the series.  Both the first and third entries had a good emphasis on a few characters who were developed well enough to care for and the challenges they faced felt fairly strong.  The problem, however, is that the fourth film tried to do a bunch of things and it essentially failed all of those (the biggest mistake being the introduction of so many new characters).  What’s worse is how the fifth film literally felt even more unnecessary (only one key character dies and nothing else really happens); came off as more of a precursor to something that wasn’t implied.  As of now I have a tough time anticipating the sixth film but the reception indicates it might be a step back in the right direction.  However, I think a revolution for the series will simply be too late at this point.

Michael’s Take

In complete honesty, I find the Saw films quite laughable and the fact it has a seemingly strong fanbase equally amusing.  Yes, there is a storyline and yes, there are characters we’re supposed to care for.  However, neither of these aspects are handled well in any way shape or form.  The story feels like it’s trying to confuse you intentionally and winds up being absurd and almost insulting at how redundant these attempts are.  And the characters, more times than not, are acted out in very weak ways, with only a couple doing a better than mediocre job.  Beyond that, the films are mostly just torture porn that, if you don’t mind all the blood spewing, skin stretching and bones snapping, can be sadistically enjoyable (it’s tough to say why).  I will agree with Matt and Greg in that the last two films are definitely the weakest, since they had even less of what kept the first three from being horrible.  The series as a whole, however, is just another gore-filled mess that does nothing for any of the genres it touches on (horror, thriller, mystery and suspense).

Despues de mucho mucho mucho tiempo, regreso con excelentes noticias (al menos para la gente de Mèxico) la sexta pelicula de la saga “El Juego Del Miedo” ya tiene fecha de estreno oficial en nuestro pais y en algunos de Latinoamerica.

Asi que, la fecha de estreno para “El Juego Del Miedo 6 (Saw VI) en  México es el proximo 30 de Octubre del 2009, Gracias a Toxeri por avisar que la fecha fue movida una semana antes, al 23 de Octubre, y esperemos que ahora si sea estreno simultaneo en todo el pais.

Ahora si, las fechas de estreno.

Una putada de la distribuidora para con algunos paises, esperemos que al menos la promocion sea buena.

La saga de “Saw” no va a tener límites. Por mucho que en su momento dijesen que en la sexta entrega todo se aclararía y se finiquitarian los cabos sueltos que pudieron ir dejando las anteriores entregas. Este mes de Octubre se va a estrenar la anteriormente mencionada película, más concretamente el día 23 en Estados Unidos y en algunos otros países (entre ellos España, según “Imdb”). Pero vamos a hablar sobre la quinta parte. La cual tampoco tiene desperdicio, siempre y cuando sigas a Jigsaw (o a su discípulo) y sus trampas mortales durante su gran andadura. Y es que como muchos dicen “Jigsaw nunca ha llegado a matar realmente”. Bueno, más o menos.

Siempre he considerado que “Saw”, la primera parte, tenía interés. Se alejaba en cierta medida del psicópata repetitivo de turno y aportaba algunas novedades al género. Incluso el final (tramposo para algunos y cogido por los pelos) se hizo marca de la casa por lo soprendente. Conforme avanzaba la saga ibas viendo que la fórmula se repetía, eso sí dando al público (más concretamente a los fans) datos jugosos con los que jugar. Saltando en el tiempo por medio de flashbacks es sin lugar a dudas una buena manera de ampliar el horizonte. Cerrando misterios y abriendo otros.

“Saw 5″ juega con eso, ni más ni menos. Sigue con su estilo bien definido. Esa parte gore que tanto puede gustar, esas trampas mortales (con acertijos de por medio) en las cuales no saldría vivo ni McGyver, el dilema moral donde el ser humano llega a demostrar que no es tan buena persona como se creía, más incognitas para despejar en futuras entregas, un final acojonante, etc. Es decir, no se aleja de la línea trazada por los guionistas para que la saga siga funcionando o creando interés. En cierta medida es mejor ver una película de Saw que otra de un asesino pirado con cuchillo en mano matando adolescentes gilipollas. Pero no es menos cierto que puede acabar en la rutina. Cinco entregas ya son muchas (y vamos a por la sexta de cabeza) y te preguntas si realmente alargar algo sirve para aportar cosas o simplemente para ganar dinero (algo indudable e indiscutible en estos tiempos). La quinta parte, al igual que las anteriores, llega a ser casi exclusivamente para los seguidores de la saga. Es practicamente imposible seguirla si no has llegado con la lección bien aprendida. Precisamente esa es su virtud y su error. Sí, puedes disfrutar de la sangre y el gore, que lo hay, pero la historia en sí, enrevesada casi hasta límites insospechados, es para ir con manual. Hasta el moñaco que va en la bicicleta te puede llegar a cansar. La novedad de algo, conforme sacan más y más secuelas, se va diluyendo. Precisamente es lo que ocurre con “Saw 5″. Te dices a ti mismo “buf! otra de Saw. Voy a ver como matan a la peña en esta ocasión”. Estoy seguro de que los que miran con lupa cada una de las escenas seguiran esperando con ansiedad una entrega más (como diría Buzz Lightyear: “Hasta el infinito y más allá”). Pero el espectador esporádico, el que ha visto algunas películas pero le falta por ver alguna secuela, el que se cansó al ver la segunda o tercera, no creo que tenga mucho interés en retomar la historia de Jigsaw. Precisamente porque han llegado a cansarle, manteniendolo en un estado perpetuo de atontamiento dificil de rescatar. Y no sin razón.

Al menos sale Julie Benz (Rita). Un aliciente para los seguidores de la serie Dexter.

Marcus Dunstan si Patrick Melton vor scrie scenariul pentru Saw 7. Anuntul vine cu cateva luni inaintea lansarii Saw 6 , regizat de Kevin Greutert, pe 23 octombrie. Pentru Dunstan si Melton nu e mare problema sa mai scrie un Jigsaw, din moment ce tot ei au scris partile 4,5,6. Cei doi au experienta in domeniul seriilor horror, scriind si doua sequeluri pentru Feast. Saw 7 va fi lansat in octombrie 2010, in preajma Halloween-ului.

Hace unos días le comentaba a mi amigo imaginario el hecho de que no subiría nada de Saw 6 hasta que una foto, o algo de información sobre Amanda Young (la asesina favorita de este blog) salieran a la luz.

Hoy (o ayer, no se, he estado “estudiando”), nos mostraron la primer foto de la aprendiz de Jigsaw, que si mis cálculos son correctos pertenece a un flashback de la tercer película… Y se ve algo asustada y con rastros de sangre (de alguien mas seguramente) en la cara.

Si creian que el anterior poster de Saw VI era bueno, hay que darle un vistazo al nuevo cartel con el que la pelicula se esta promocionando.  Se trata de una imagen mucho mas “estilizada” que la que nos mostraban en las primera peliculas, aunque eso si, menos sangrienta.
La frase: “Confia en el”, lo que Jigsaw pedia a todas sus victimas.

Este, como en todos los años anteriores no podía faltar el “Blood Drive”, la buena obra que realizan los promotores y sobre todo fans de Saw, que consiste en donar unidades de sangre a la Cruz Roja, que recordando en post anterior se llevaban recaudando casi 18,000 litros hasta la tercera parte de la saga.

En esta ocasión la sexy enfermera (o enfermeras) fue modificada por una un tanto caricaturesca y hasta cierto punto intrigante enfermera de senos firmes que parece sacada de alguna película de Burton.

Un ingenioso poster (bueno, 2 ) para una generosa idea.

Tercer post consecutivo de Saw, y es que hoy ayer a exactamente 3 meses de su estreno nos muestran el primer tráiler de la sexta parte de la saga.

Un trailer muy parecido al que pudimos ver hace 2 años con Saw 4, la cámara se mueve por una serie de pasillos en los que se ven (sin apreciarse completamente) en monitores y pantallas de televisión parte de los juegos, que como ya nos confirma el video serán 6.

En espera del siguiente, uno en el que al menos hayan mas imágenes de la película que pasillos computarizados.

Las primeras impresiones que Saw 6 me esta dejando son muy buenas, ayer con el poster oficial en que se nos mostraba parte de la trampa del carrusel, y hoy con el video que nos muestra el funcionamiento (o parte de el) de dicha trampa.

De mas esta decir que esta idea me parece original, ya que el jugador (un personaje llamado William) tiene que decidir quien vive y quien muere, enfrentándose a las suplicas y lamentos de cada uno de ellos.

Empezamos la promoción oficial (y buena) de la sexta parte de Saw con este súper poster oficial.

Se trata de un concepto muy similar al ya utilizado antes en Saw 4 y 5, en el que se nos mostraban un par de juegos, en el primero una imagen muy misteriosa de Pig Mask Trap y en el poster de la quinta parte al oficial Strahm en la Head Box Trap. Asi que esta vez, Saw regresa con una especie de ruleta rusa algo bizarra.

La trampa según entendí al poster, trata de que las personas den vueltas mientras son apuntadas con una escopeta que decidirá quien vive y quien muere.

Un excelente poster para lo que espero sea una excelente película.

Hoy, después de mucho tiempo al fin hay noticias acerca de Saw (al menos, noticias que valgan la pena). La primera es que ya esta activa la pagina oficial, en la cual hay un contador anunciándonos la llegada de primer tráiler para el próximo jueves.

Y la segunda y tal vez mas interesante es la aparición del teaser poster de la sexta y ultima parte de la saga, uno muy muy muy muy muy diferente a los posters pasados, para empezar este (y siguiendo algunas modas) es animado, aparte de no presentar ni una gota de sangre.  Un grupo de personas se reúnen formando la cara del asesino Jigsaw con el lema de “HIS DISEASE IS SPREADING” y no creo que se refiera al cáncer…

Saw 6 se estrena el 23 de Octubre de este año, y espero ver otro poster igual de bueno que el de Saw 3 o más perturbador que el de Saw 4 en las afueras de los cines.
