I recently did a promotional photo shoot for Marty Stalker, Director of Scattered Images. Marty has been in the film and video production industry for a couple of years now with recent success in a nationwide competition (Canon’s Freeze Frame: Anticipation – Marty Placed 3rd) it is only a matter of time before his work becomes a household name.

Marty Describes his work as an “Obsession with Perfection” and this is exactly what can be seen from his short pieces and wedding films. “I have always been obsessed with films and even when I was little I would imagine scenes from movies and add my own ideas to the film reel in my head. That’s why I love filming weddings. Every wedding is unique and I get another chance to see a day unfold and tell the story with my lens.”

Marty can spend up to 40+ hrs in the editing suite on one wedding alone and his work reflects this. His weddings have a “movie feel” to them and all of his customers come back amazed by what they see. “Its a secret process that I incorporate into every wedding reel that makes it special. I must admit its not a cost or time effective process but I get submerged in every wedding I shoot. Its why I’m in the business, I know my work will stand the test of time and that people will always get more than they expected.”

I teamed up again with Marty Stalker of Scattered Images to run a promotional shoot for Chris Cassidy IR 16. Chris finished 5th overall in this year’s standings of the IWA tour and scored an impressive 3rd at Belmullet on his 2nd season with the tour. Chris is an up and coming star and will be one to watch out for in future events.

Chris took us up to his favourite spot in the north coast for a days filming for his sponsors and portfolio. We were shocked to find one of the biggest days the north coast has seen this year. With sets rolling in at mast height and above, I could see a curious and menacing grin on Chris’s face: this was going to be a fun day!

Chris was eager to get into the water as rigging up can take some time and the conditions were perfect. He took us out first to show us where he would be coming back in to wave sail so that we could pick our spot. All an all this was an incredible day to be down at the coast and it will be a while before it ever gets this big again!
