Waiting For The Orange Line

I love the way this piece turned out. I started out looking at those brown arch pieces and thinking that they would be perfect as roof supports at a light-rail station. I envisioned the station, and started building. There was just the right amount of experimentation along the way to make it an enjoyable build. This station came together quickly, and the overall shape turned out exactly as I had wanted.

If I had to find something to quibble about, it would be that I didn’t have enough gray plates to make the platform surface a little more uniform. (Oh, well.)

Someday, I’m going to buy some tracks so I can build a train for these folks.

Momentan wird im UPSB heiß diskutiert ob man die BPSC dafür bestrafen soll, dass sie alte Combos verwendet haben. Hier der originalpost von Picool:

Der stärkste Kritikpunkt bei dieser Sache ist wohl, dass die Collabs eigentlich den aktuellen Stand und die Stärke der Community darstellen sollen. Wenn nun alte Clips verwendet werden dürfen, dann könnte jedes Board theoretisch auf Spinner zugreifen, die schon längst nicht mehr aktiv bzw. nicht mehr so gut sind. Jedoch behauptet die andere Seite, dass es nirgends eine Regel gibt die die Verwendung von alten Videos verbietet und hat damit sogar Recht. Zombo hat in seinem bisher längsten Statement das ganze zusammengefasst und verweist außerdem auf die Tatsache, dass ein Regelbruch nach dem Regelwerk gar nicht bestraft werden kann, denn soetwas wurde vorher auch nicht festgelegt (und wie wir alle wissen kann ein Gesetz nicht rückwirkend gültig sein).

An dieser Stelle möchte ich auch nochmal anmerken, dass ich selbst auch Teil dieser Diskussion bin, da auch meine Combo alt (und sogar vorher schon Public gewesen) ist. Alle betroffenen Communites (BPSC, FPSB, GPC und vermutlich noch weitere) sind dazu eingeladen mit Zombo nach einer Lösung dieses Problems zu suchen.

Heyyyo Phish peoples… you going to the 11/24/09 show in Philly? I’m gonne be ragin’ the lot with some really good friends of mine. We’re gonna be doing our thing at the Heavy Pets’ van complete with a crazy sound system, lazers, and a fog machine. Their van has some cool Heavy Pets artwork painted all over it and it also has a killer sound system so get ready to dance! I’ve been working with the Heavy Pets for awhile now and I’m pretty stoked to be able to kick it with them in the Philly lot. Jen Web and some other Funtown hoopers will be doing their thing on a nice little platform while we light up the lot. I scored some pretty sweet last minute lower level Phish tickets so I’ll probably have some nice photos for ya’ll a little later. Have fun and stop by if you are gonna be at the show!

Efren Peñaflorida, bullied by gangs in high school in the Philippines, created Dynamic Teen Company, a group which offers an alternative to gangs through education for kids in the slums of the Philippines. Since 1997, some 10,000 members have taught more than 1,500 children in slums, providing them an opportunity to get education and a chance to get out of the slums and improve their lives. It’s an amazing feat that is selfless and devoted, and has inspired so many people around the world. His selfless dedication and relentless giving has earned him a recent nod as CNN’s Hero of the Year. Only 28, Efren’s amazing work continually inspires and makes one believe that we CAN do something to change the world. Mabuhay ka, Efren!
