Over two hundred Preston children came together to pray and to celebrate the start of Advent.

“Walking with God” was held at a packed St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fulwood on Thursday 3rd December and was supported by CAFOD and by the Diocesan Faith & Justice Commission.

Our Lady’s headteacher Nigel Ranson said “We have been able to work as a family of schools to prepare for Christmas in a special way. From reception in primary school right through to year 11 at high school children have worked together to produce a wonderful family celebration, remembering real Christian family values.”

Afterwards, CAFOD Lancaster Diocesan Manager Rosa Trelfa, said “The children were superb – a real credit to their families and schools. They brought alive the key messages of Advent with their song, dance and drama. And their singing of the song from Swaziland was brilliant! Remembering that we are part of a wider global family is an important part of our preparations this Advent. We have much to be thankful for and tonight we remembered those in need overseas with our prayers and with our practical support through CAFOD.”

One of my greatest passenger pet peeves is not following simple rules. After reading a post on Heat

One of my greatest passenger pet peeves is not following simple rules. After reading a post on Heather’s blog I decided to go ahead and write my own piece instead of waiting until a more opportune moment.

Honestly, folks. It’s like working with schoolchildren these days. And not advanced reading class schoolchildren, either, but the short bus, head start, helmet-wearing, I-pull-my-pants-all-the-way-down-to-go-to-the-bathroom schoolchildren.

As a flight attendant there are certain things I’m required to do and say over the course of a flight, from boarding to deplaning. Some of these things – like saying “hello” and standing at the main cabin door during boarding – are directions from the company. Some of these things – like ensuring seat belts are fastened and tray tables are stowed – come from a higher authority (FAA). I’m not telling you to do all the things I tell you to be a jerk or to hear my own voice, because frankly, I can think of much more satisfying ways to be a jerk, and I hate the sound of my voice. The only things flight attendants want to say to you are, “Hello,” “Anything to drink,” and “Bye, now.” You want to be left the hell alone, and we will leave you the hell alone if you do what the hell we tell you to.

Most of you do what we ask the first time, however, there is always at least one guy that wants to be stubborn. Even if there are only 11 people on the flight he’s going to keep playing on his phone or iPod, regardless of how many times he’s asked to turn it off. Don’t be that guy. We hate that guy. We will say bad things about that guy. We will not be nice to that guy. We, when presented with the opportunity, will make life just a bit more difficult for that guy. We give to you what we imagine to be simple instructions, but apparently a Mensa membership should be required to fly commercially with all the people having trouble following them.

If you decide that you’d like to be that guy, don’t be so obvious about it. When flying at night when the lights are off, don’t think I can’t see the light from your cell phone or iPod. Remember, I’m on a little RJ, and I can see most everything. I will get out of my seat, walk all the way to the back of the plane, and tell you to turn it off in front of everyone. Here’s a tip: Try turning on your reading light so I can’t that you have it on. Out of sight, out of mind, right? And just because you’re an off duty or deadheading crew member that doesn’t mean you’re exempt from following the rules.

To reiterate: Don’t be that guy…or this guy.

“The most intense discussion is between two research groups, those who study violence between schoolchildren at school (the first publication about “bullying” came in the early 70´s in Scandinavia) and those who study violence between employees at workplaces (the first publications about “mobbing” came in the early 80s, also in Scandinavia).”(2) Leymann

Apparently if you do not like Michael Laws or disagree with him, you now qualify for a certificate.

Apparently if you do not like Michael Laws or disagree with him, you now qualify for a certificate.

Please Mr Joris de Bres, Adam draws your attention to these posts regarding Mr Laws. Adam wants a certificate.

Or do you have to be of a particular ethnicity to qualify?

Adam thought that in a free society people were entitled to have a wide range of opinions. Adam did not realise that today in NZ that if you had opinions Mr de Bres approves of you got a certificate.

Voltaire once wrote, it is said:-

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it

The rewarding of these children with a certificate for attacking Mr Laws, because that is what this certificate amounts to sets a very dangerous precedent. It goes completely against the spirtit and ethos of Voltaire’s statement. Mr de Bres is behaving in an Orwellian manner as he is clearly seeking to send a message as to what he sees as acceptable as opposed to what a free society sees as acceptable.

Adam does not agree with much of what Laws says, but accepts that in a free society Laws is free to say and believe what he wants, as is Mr de Bres. At the same time the schoolchildren in Otaki are entitled to their views and opinions and to promote them as they see fit.

However, Adam does not see Mr de Bres as entitled to throw a perceived umbrella of state approval over these childrens’ views, if indeed they are theirs, to the detriment of Mr Laws. Both sets of views are able to be expressed in a free society.

It seems that as Race Relations Commissioner Mr de Bres is now promoting one view only and adding to race difficulties and not resolving them. Why is de Bres allowed to make these political statements and clearly act in ways which are detrimental to free speech.

It would seem that in Mr de Bres world free speech is what he approves of and not free at all, because that is the message he sends , whatever he might claim.

Sarajevo, 1st July 2009

At the beginning of June 2009, schoolchildren from both entities of BiH made the journey to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s coastal town of Neum to take part in Neum Festival of Knowledge 2009. Around 60 children competed against each other in the fields of geography, maths, physics, biology, chemistry and information technology. The festival provided the children with the opportunity to compete against, meet, and share knowledge with their contemporaries from around the country whilst enjoying leisure activities set aside by the festival organisers.

Being partly supported by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the festival is now in its 11th year of existence. Support from the OSCE, alongside other actors, has helped support and promote the festival and its endorsement of learning for primary school children from all around BiH.

Starting each morning and finishing in the early afternoon, the 18 teams of students gathered in a conference room in Hotel Zenit to participate in group-based tests and assignments. The tests were developed and prepared by professors and assistants from universities in both Sarajevo and Banja Luka who are all experts in their fields. The professors and experts also served as the panel for the festival.

The afternoons allowed the schoolchildren the time to enjoy the sunny weather on the beach, alongside activities set aside for them such as beach volleyball, swimming, basketball, chess matches and various team building games. The festival concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and final event recognising and rewarding all of the participants for their efforts, with various trophies and cups awarded to the winners of their competitions.

This is a parody from The Rush Limbaugh Show on October Fifth. Before any liberal or moderate Rush-haters start jumping all over this, I’d like to remind you of the context. Yes, the song seems like a big example of supreme arrogance, but it’s made in light of and reaction to the sickening song about Obama being taught to schoolchildren.

To the tune of Glory, Glory, Hallelujah:

Rush Hudson Limbaugh

Mmm, Mmm, Mmm

Rush Hudson Limbaugh

Mmm, Mmm, Mmm

.

My ears have heard Rush Limbaugh on my parents’ radio.

He tells me that the Left is wrong and stuff I need to know.

We turn it off when he is done ’cause there’s no other show.

Rush, keep broadcasting on!

.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Gore and Clinton couldn’t fool ya.

Barack Obama can’t ignore ya.

Rush, keep broadcasting on!

.

In 1951, he was born in Missouri.

Now, he’s on the radio conducting EIB

on the air to set us free

from sea to shining sea.

He keeps broadcasting on!

.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Gore and Clinton couldn’t fool ya.

Barack Obama can’t ignore ya.

Rush, keep broadcasting on!

Rush, keep broadcasting on!

Oh, and one other thing I forgot to mention. According to Rush on his show on October First, Palin’s new book Going Rogue topped the lists at Amazon.com and Barnes & Nobles before even going to print. I’m not much for reading political books, but way to go Mrs. Maverick!

By Cara Sulieman

A LOLLIPOP man has quit after being told he can’t high-five the kids or give out sweets anymore.

John Hunter, 69, has worked at Corstorphine Primary School in Edinburgh for 10 years and has always been popular with the children at the school.

He claims they queue up to receive one of this trademark high-fives and he dishes out chocolates on his birthday and a Christmas.

But after one parent complained he has been told that he can’t do either things, and John has decided to quit.

“First complaint”

He was told by the council that giving out high-fives was a “health and safety risk”.

It was thought the parent complained after John gave a chocolate with nuts to a child with a nut allergy by mistake.

And now after a decade at Corstorphine and almost 40 years with Edinburgh City Council, John has made the hard decision to quit the job he loves.

He said: “This is the first complaint I’ve ever had in 37 years. Now suddenly I’m a danger to these children.

“They said it’s health and safety, but I can’t see if it’s the children’s safety or mine.

“I’ve built up a strong relationship with them over the years, and I’m going to miss them a lot. I was thinking about retiring anyway, so I’ve handed in my resignation.

“But it’s a rotten way to go. The children have made me promise to come back and tell jokes.”

Trusted

John used to be a roads maintenance inspector with the council, and took up the lollipop job when he retired from that role.

Parents at the school have reacted with disbelief and many have written or called the school to complain. Speaking to them, it is apparent that John is popular with the children and is trusted by the parents.

One mother said: “He is warm and friendly to all the children, and even remembers their birthdays and gives them cards. He also attends school concerts and so on.

“Mr Hunter has done what he does for years and the children all think he is great. It is such a shame that it takes one parent to complain to spoil the enjoyment of the children.”

“Too far”

Another parent said: “All the children love Mr Hunter. I can understand why they asked him not to give out sweets, but not the high-fives.”

The move has also angered local politicians, who are asking the council to re-think their decision.

Councillor Ricky Henderson, Labour’s education spokesman, said: “I think they have taken it a bit too far.

“It seems like an overreaction which has put this poor guy in a position where he felt he had no option but to resign, and that is very sad given that he obviously had a good relationship with parents and children at the school.

“He is entitled to a full explanation.”

A City of Edinburgh council spokeswoman said: “We are really sad that John is leaving his post. Over the years, he has provided excellent service and a friendly smile to parents and pupils at Corstorphine Primary.”

There is something profoundly creepy about a president who creates his own logo, as if he were a brand to be placed on objects and ideas for commercial benefit. Somehow, attaching it to a caduceus made it even more unsettling.

Did the Obama team truly believe that placing his personal logo beneath the symbol of the practice of medicine inspired people to trust him with their health care? They must have, or they surely would not have done it.

I wonder if somebody told them — I haven’t seen it in connection with the health mess since mid-September. In fact, what brought it to mind was seeing a bumper sticker featuring the logo cracked apart. I’d like to think the president has been visited by the Founding Fathers, but I fear not.

But very young students at Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ singing a “dear leader” type song literally makes my skin crawl. I don’t feel any better after reading this update from exurbanleague. The principal of the school made exculpatory statements about this just being part of Black History Month and complained that the taping of the event was “unauthorized.” He seemed very annoyed that some parents were objecting to a past event about which they had no knowledge. After all, His Oneness has to create fresh recruits for his civilian army, doesn’t he?

UPDATE: Asher Embry has a killer poem on the indoctrination piece.

UPDATE: And YouTube has been caught cooking the books to keep the video of the Obamakids off the most popular list.

Okay this is the video that has all the Republican & GOPers upset. You decide.

In Burlington, NJ a videotape has circulated the internet showing a black teacher’s aide instructing her grade school public kids on a chant/song supposedly praising President Barack Hussein Obama which the Republicans and members of the GOP and the conservative right are avowing to be an INDOCTRINATION video to use our children for means of mind control.

However couldn’t this tape actually be less sinister than that? Couldn’t the tape just be showing a teacher and her students gearing up for BLACK HISTORY MONTH festivities in that school? Unfortunately this teacher did not seek out the children’s parents to sign off their permission for these kids to participate nor did she ask permission from the principal and if another teacher had tried this they would have been fired. Since this teacher’s aide is black special consideration is being given her much to the detriment of the school and the children depicted in this video.

Political agenda’s will forever try to change public opinion by rattling the cage of injustice and what better way to do that by using innocence in the face of children. What the GOP is accusing a teacher of doing is exactly what that are turning this videotape into – a soapbox interpretation to mislead the public on an innocent event meant to honor the nations first black president for 2009 Black History month in this school.

What makes this video so disturbing is what the kids are singing and I can guarantee you that they don’t understand a word of what they are singing and why. So in my opinion that makes this teacher’s aide just as culpable as the GOP who are trying to askew this videotape to fit their own agenda.

Mike Adams Natural News September 19, 2009 The mainstream media is engaged in what we Americans call

Mike Adams
Natural News
September 19, 2009

The mainstream media is engaged in what we Americans call “bald faced lies” about swine flu. It seems to be true with this issue more than any other, and it became apparent to me recently when a colleague of mine — a nationally-syndicated newspaper columnist — told me their column on natural defenses for swine flu was rejected by newspapers all across the country. Many newspapers refused to run the column and, instead, ran an ad for “free vaccine clinics” in the same space.

The media, it seems, is so deeply in bed with the culture of vaccinations that they will do almost anything to keep the public misinformed. And that includes lying about swine flu vaccines.

There are ten key lies that continue to be told by the mainstream media (MSM) about swine flu and swine flu vaccines.

Lie #1 – There are no adjuvants used in the vaccines

I was recently being interviewed by a major U.S. news network when the reporter interviewing me came up with this humdinger: There are no adjuvants being used in the swine flu vaccines, he said!

I assured him that adjuvants were, indeed, a crucial part of the vaccine recipe, and they were being widely used by drug companies to “stretch” the vaccine supply. It’s no secret. But he insisted he had been directly told by a drug company rep that no adjuvants were being used at all. And he believed them! So everything being published by this large news network about swine flu vaccines now assumes there are no adjuvants in the vaccines at all.

Lie #2 – The swine flu is more dangerous than seasonal flu

This lie is finally starting to unravel. I admit that in the early days of this pandemic, even I was concerned this could be a global killer. But after observing the very mild impact the virus was having on people in the real world, it became obvious that this was a mild flu, no more dangerous than a seasonal flu.

The MSM, however, continues to promote H1N1 swine flu as being super dangerous, driving fear into the minds of people and encouraging them to rush out and get a vaccine shot for a flu that’s really no more likely to kill them than the regular winter sniffles. Sure, the virus could still mutate into something far worse, but if it does that, the current vaccine could be rendered obsolete anyway!

Lie #3 – Vaccines protect you from swine flu

This is the biggest lie of all, and the media pushes it hard. Getting a vaccine, they insist, will protect you from the swine flu. But it’s just flat-out false. Even if the vaccine produces antibodies, that’s not the same thing as real-world immunity from a live virus, especially if the virus mutates (as they often do).

As I pointed out in a recent article, statistically speaking the average American is 40 times more likely to be struck by lightning than to have their life saved by a swine flu vaccine. (http://www.naturalnews.com/026955_s…)

Lie #4 – Vaccines are safe

And how would any journalists actually know this? None of the vaccines have been subjected to real-world testing for any meaningful duration. The “safety” of these vaccines is nothing more than wishful thinking.

The MSM also doesn’t want you to know what’s in the vaccines. Some vaccines are made from viral fragments grown in diseased African monkeys. If that sounds incredible, read the true story here: http://www.naturalnews.com/026779_s…

Lie #5 – The vaccine isn’t mandatory

You hear this lie all the time: The swine flu vaccine shot is voluntary, they say. But it’s not true if you’re an employee at a place where vaccines are being mandated. Millions of Americans are now being told by their employers that if they don’t get vaccine shots, they will be effectively fired from their jobs. It’s especially true with health care workers, day care employees and school teachers.

Lie #6 – Getting a vaccine shot is a good bet on your health

In reality, a vaccine shot is far more likely to harm you than help you. According to one viral expert, the actual mortality rate of the swine flu virus is estimated to be as low as .007 percent (http://www.reuters.com/article/heal…). That means H1N1 swine flu kills less than one person in 100,000. Even if the vaccine works, let’s say, 10 percent of the time, you’d have to vaccine one million people to prevent one death from swine flu.

And in vaccinating one million people, you would inevitably harm or kill several people, simply from the vaccine side effects! Your net risk of death is increased by getting a swine flu vaccine.

Lie #7 – The vaccine isn’t made with “attenuated live virus”

When the swine flu vaccines were first being announced several months ago, they were described as being made with “attenuated live virus.” This was directly mentioned in CDC documents, among other places.

This term apparently freaked out the American news consumer, and it has since been all but erased from any discussion about vaccines. Now, journalists will actually argue with you and insist the vaccines contain no attenuated live viruses whatsoever.

Except they’re wrong. The vaccines are, indeed, made with “attenuated live viruses.” That’s how you make a vaccine: You take live viruses, then you weaken them (”attenuate”) and inject them into people.

Lie #8 – Wash, wash, wash your hands (to avoid exposure)

This idea of washing your hands a hundred times a day is all based on the assumption that you can avoid exposure to the swine flu virus. But that’s impractical. The virus is now so widespread that virtually everyone is certain to be exposed to it through the air if not other means. This whole idea of avoiding exposure to the swine flu virus is nonsense. The conversation should shift to ways to survive exposure via a healthy immune system.

Of course, hand washing is a very good idea in a hospital setting. Recent news reveals that doctors are too busy to wash their own hands, resulting in the rampant spread of superbugs throughout most large hospitals in first world nations.

Lie #9 – Children are more vulnerable to swine flu than adults
This is just a flat-out lie, but it makes for good vaccine sales. Vaccines are right now being targeted primarily to schoolchildren.

But the truth is that swine flu is extremely mild in children. “It’s mildest in kids,” says Dr Marc Lipsitch of Harvard University. “That’s one of the really good pieces of news in this pandemic.” Reuters actually had the guts to report this story, but most of the larger media outlets are still reporting that children are the most vulnerable.

Lie #10 – There is nothing else you can do beyond a vaccine and Tamiflu

This is where the media lies by omission. The mainstream media absolutely refuses to print just about any story that talks about using vitamin D, anti-viral herbs or natural remedies to protect yourself from swine flu. In the MSM, there are two options and only two: Vaccines and Tamiflu. That’s it. No other options exist in their fictional reality.

Why is the mainstream media so afraid to print the truth these days? Why can’t reporting on swine flu see the light of day… literally, with a mention of sunlight and vitamin D? Apparently, Big Pharma has such a tight grip on mainstream newspapers that no true story on swine flu can ever make it past the editor’s desk.

Killing stories, deceiving the public

It must really be depressing to work for the mainstream media. Even the reporters I know can’t stand it. The truth, they admit, rarely makes it into print.

Over the last few years, I’ve had a couple of job offers from large media outlets. They want to pay me a six-figure salary and stick me behind a desk where they can control what I report. Needless to say, I routinely reject those offers. If I can’t write the truth like I do here on NaturalNews.com, there’s no point writing at all. In too many ways, the mainstream media has become little more than a corporate mouthpiece, whoring itself out to the highest bidder / advertiser.

It’s no fault of the frontline reporters who actually work there. For the most part, they agree with what I’m saying. It’s the fault of the profit-oriented corporate mindset where news is about selling newspapers rather than actually informing the public.

Important news stories get killed every day in the newsrooms across America. They get killed not because they are poorly investigated or poorly written, but because they upset advertisers and corporate string pullers who shape the news and reject any stories that threaten their own financial interests.

Here in 2009, the distorted reporting on the swine flu vaccine has been one of the greatest media frauds ever perpetrated. The media has in every way contributed to the widespread ignorance of the American people on the subject of vitamin D and natural immune-boosting defenses that could reduce swine flu fatalities. Rather than informing readers, the MSM has made it a point to keep the people stupid, and in doing so, the media has failed its only mission and betrayed the very audience is claims to serve.

By Cara Sulieman

A POETRY competition designed to raise awareness of Remembrance Day among children was launched with the backing of Britain’s own modern day soldier poet.

Lieutenant Colonel J.B. Brown attended the launch of Poppyscotland’s poetry competition today (mon) to inspire school kids to write about war and remembrance, so others never forget.

Lt Col Brown has been in the army for 22 years – serving in Northern Ireland, the first Gulf War, the Falklands and Iraq.

He is currently commander of the 7 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps based in Germany, and says it is the variety of places that he has been and things he has seen has helped inspire his work.

“Resonance and memories”

And he said it was those real life experiences that inspired his writing, saying: “My second tour of Northern Ireland in 1993/4 has to be the one that has impacted the most on me.

“It was mainly because we lost a soldier, Private Edwards, and had a lot of men injured by direct IRA action.

“But to be honest with you any operational tour has its own resonance and memories that stick with you.

“In terms of inspiring me to write, the tour I did in Baghdad last year when I was embedded with the American army really sparked my poetry and I wrote a lot about what I saw and what I experienced.

“Since then I have written a lot more generalised war poetry.”

“Run wild”

He is keen to get children involved in poetry from a young age, and thinks it is important for them to start to think about war and the impact it has on servicemen and women across the country.

He said: “The kids are using photographs of Iraq by Robert Wilson to spark off their poetry. I don’t think that you need to visit somewhere to write about it, just let your imagination run wild.

“Paint the picture in your mind with the words and it will take the reader to wherever you want them to go.

“I am in some of the pictures so Poppyscotland asked me if I wanted to get involved.

“When I heard it was all about promoting the understanding of Remembrance I knew I wanted to get involved – Poppy Day is a part of my life and something I believe strongly in.

“And anything that gets kids writing and reading and sparks their imagination is something I want to be involved in.”

“Painting a picture”

He added: “I write about life; about love and religion, and to me war is part of life.

“I feel I can only write about what I’ve seen and done and war moves me to write about it and capture the emotions that come from it.

“My grandfather had me reading and writing poetry from a young age and really inspired a love of poetry in me.

“It is a way of painting a picture for people who cannot be there.”

Lt Col Brown will be on the panel to choose the winner of the competition which is open to schoolchildren from primary and secondary schools across the country.

Creative

The main aim of the project is to highlight the importance of Remembrance Day and to make the kids realise that war isn’t something in the past; it is still going on today.

Ian McGregor, Chief Executive of Poppyscotland, said: “It is vital that young people know about conflicts, remembrance and the role of veterans in their communities.

“The poetry competition will enable pupils to learn in a way that is both creative and engaging.”

Prizes for the various winners include a digital SLR camera, compact cameras and a poetry workshop.

My daughters have both started school again for the new term and we have been given leaflets and advice about good hygiene practice in order to try and prevent the spread of ’swine flu’. I have heard that if more than 3 children in a school are diagnosed with the virus, the whole school will close for 6 days.

There are rumours about mass vaccination for schoolchildren but I think, at the moment, there are no plans for this in France, leaving parents the option to ask for their children to be vaccinated if they want it.

It made me wonder what I would do if there was a mass programme of vaccination at school. I’m not sure whether I would want to opt out or not. I have read that some doctors feel it would be much better for people to contract the virus, in its present mild form, and thus have a natural immunity if the virus should become worse. If a programme was introduced and parents didn’t want to comply, would their children be excluded from school?

Obviously, it is a good idea to try to prevent the virus spreading by emphasising the benefits of good hygiene and also, perhaps, by boosting the immune system with things like zinc, echinacea and vitamins C & D as many people do during the ‘flu season’ every year.

What would you do?

I’m a horrible blogger, like really. I always tell myself that I’m going to blog and then I don’t. ANYWAY, there are some things that we should possibly (maybe) talk about.

For one, my hair is back to a decent shade of brown (trust me, that orange was a BITCH), and my room has finally been repainted and rearranged. Here’s a picture that also functions as a double whammy:

Yeahaa. Also, school has started. I’m doing better in pre-ap English than I thought I would, studying for that class hasn’t been a huge issue. I’m kinda ehhh about world history, since I’m taking AP. I’m definitely not doing APUSH next year. I’ve decided against taking yearbook next year because it would be the same teacher that I have for journalism, and she definitely isn’t my favorite teacher this year.

Tech has been sort of… fantastic? So far I’m really liking it. We’ve got all the walls up for the set, two doors hung, and the design on the wall is being put up right now. Yesterday I was in the lighting booth for five and a half hours straight, and apparently I did pretty well. I’m doing better at building that I thought I would. The kids in the class are awesome, last night after our build some of us got dinner at Denny’s. We’ve already made a trip to Laser Quest and rode down the slide at McDonald’s on a serving tray. I’m pretty excited to start painting, hehh.

Oh, and my room? Rearranging it and giving it an overhaul has given me the opportunity to look through crap I haven’t used in months. I found all my rings that I used to wear about ten minutes ago, and my ring that is suppose to fend off negative energy is stuck on my left ring finger. But that’s okay. Maybe soap will slide it off. Or I’ll die with it on, whichever comes first.

Anyway, I’m all out of major things to talk about for now. I will *try* to blog more, but not many people read this so I’m sure there will be *no one* who will be disappointed. Weee.
