El programa que utilizaremos para grabar o escuchar emisoras de radio se llama Screamer y  te lo puedes descargar AQUÍ.

Podremos grabar canciones o programas de radio en calidad mp3, para ello sólo tendremos que irnos a Archivo/Abrir URL/ y por último pegaremos  la dirección url de nuestra emisora de radio favorita. Os dejo con algunas emisoras de radio para que vayáis probando. Si alguien tiene problemas para escuchar alguna emisora de radio que deje un comentario.

This weekend I had to go over to a friend’s place to finish some group assignment. We smoked up on the way, had lunch and then smoked up again, leaving just a bit for after we were done. As a reward, so we’d actually finish our work. And we did, surprisingly, and our answers were pretty good too. Stuff that would never occur to us otherwise, flowing so freely, and so perfectly worded, this is how he did all his literature assignments he told me. Interesting…

After we were done with our work he had some other group project to work on with his friend, so I just laid down and chilled out. They were playing some trippy Drum N Bass music, I asked them what the song was, and they said it was radio! Screamer Radio, to be precise. It’s an application that streams free radio stations from around the world, including Police and Airport scanners! The stations are pretty good, especially ProgRock Records, Aural Moon, and The Oracle. The Oracle is for Drum N Bass, the other two are progressive rock stations, but they’re trippy as fuck!

You can listen to ProgRock Records even without Screamer at http://progrock.com but the others require the app. It’s a tiny download and doesn’t take much space/RAM/or even bandwidth! And you can record whatever you’re listening to, with track info and all. The quality is nothing to complain about, you won’t think you’re listening to radio. Check it out if you’re bored with your music collection, or the crap they play on SL radio. (:

It’s time to get your groove on, folks. Time to listen to some cool sounds while you surf the web and update your Facebook status. Time for the magic of streaming Internet radio.

But you don’t want just any streaming Internet radio. You want a small, free, lightweight player that sounds good and doesn’t use a lot of memory and system resources. You also want a player free of adware and spyware. In short, you want the Screamer Radio player.

Step One – Get the Screamer Radio Player

Download the Screamer Radio Player here, and install it. It’s very easy to set up. After installing it, run the program. You should see a very small, non-bloated window that looks like this:

You can click on the Presets menu to listen to a pre-loaded station, or you can use the File / Open URL dialog to listen to a station of your choosing.

Screamer Radio will also record, in MP3 or OGG format, the songs you’re listening to, placing each track into a separate file. You can use the Settings menu to tell the program the name of the folder in which you want it to store the recorded tracks.

Step Two – Add Some Cool Stations to Your Favorites

To get started, may I recommend two great streaming radio stations: Radio Paradise and SomaFM’s Secret Agent.

To add these stations to your Favorites, do the following:

Select "Open URL" from the File menu:

Then, put in the URL of a stream. Here are the two URLs for the stations mentioned above:

• http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128xx.m3u

If these streams don’t work for you for some reason, visit the SomaFM or Radio Paradise to find several alternate URLs.

After you get a stream playing, add it to your Favorites by selecting "Add current station to Favorites" from the Favorites menu:

I’m lucky enough (I think) to work from home.   I need a little bit of “noise” when I’m working as I miss out on the usual office chat and gossip.   Aww…shame   Anyway, I used to listen to Pandora with the funky Pandora’s Box by Daniel Mackey. Unfortunately it’s impossible to listen to the service now in the UK without using a proxy because of…well, have a look at part of an email that was sent to me from Pandora.

As you probably know, in July of 2007 we had to block usage of Pandora outside the U.S. because of the lack of a viable license structure for Internet radio streaming in other countries. It was a terrible day. We did however hold out some hope that a solution might exist for the UK, so we left it unblocked as we worked diligently with the rights organizations to negotiate an economically workable license fee. After over a year of trying, this has proved impossible. Both the PPL (which represents the record labels) and the MCPS/PRS Alliance (which represents music publishers) have demanded per track performance minima rates which are far too high to allow ad supported radio to operate and so, hugely disappointing and depressing to us as it is, we have to block the last territory outside of the US.

So I’m now using the teeny-tiny Screamer Radio.   It’s freeware, it isn’t a resource hog and it’s portable. Huzzah! Here’s a link to its features page.

It’s certainly not the same as Pandora but it is good.  My favourite stations are Beatles-A-Rama!!! and Fun Radio France.   I think Beatles (A-Rama…and don’t forget the 3 exclamation marks!!!) is my favourite.   It has a good bit rate and the Walmart adverts are truly wonderfull

vuelvo de entre los bloggers abandonadores para reomendaros un programita curioso que es facilmente instalable (no hace falta instalar) para escuchar la radio de varios paises, tipos, colores y/o olores. Screamer radio. (tachán)

Sólo tenéis que hacer un par de cosas. Bajar el programa de aquí. Descomprimir el zip y escuchar la radio todo lo que quieras. Y se pueden hacer muchas cosas con el programa, como grabar lo que escuchas, por ejemplo, crear una lista de favoritos y escuchar radios de todo el mundo.

perfecto para esos tediosos momentos en los que tienes que redactar un informe y no tienes música que escuchar, por ejemplo.

Y recuerden, es gratis. y eso casi siempre es bueno.

Online radio player

iTunes a reuşit să mă impresioneze cu aproximativ 2 ani în urmă pe partea de streaming radio pe Internet. Recent am descoperit un player, Screamer Radio, util pentru a asculta o mulţime de streaming-uri radio din toată lumea.

Screamer Radio permite ascultarea posturilor radio ce transmit online din toată lumea. Acestea pot fi selectate în funcţie de genuri muzicale, reţeaua din care fac parte sau după ţara de provenienţă. La categoria Region din meniul Presets există şi un radio care emite în Second Life. Suportă streaming audio în formatele WMA, AAC, OGG, MP3 şi permite chiar înregistrarea melodiilor ascultate.

Merită menţionat că programul poate fi downloadat ca un portable app şi poate fi rulat de pe un memory stick.

Playlist-uri customizabile

Rămânem tot în aria streamingurilor audio şi ajungem şi la site-urile ce furnizează muzică în regim de streaming, un online radio dar cu playlist customizabil. Un astfel de site este eOK.ro, relansat pe 15 martie, ce furnizează în regim de streaming numai muzică românească de la casele de discuri Cat Music, Roton, Nova Music, MediaPro Music. Conform spuselor lui Cristian Manafu, momentan sunt disponibile 2.500 de piese, urmând ca peste o lună utilizatorii să aibă la dispoziţie peste 10.000 de piese muzicale. Deocamdată, accesul pe site se face pe bază de invitaţie.

Colecţii de radiouri online

Şi dacă am tot vorbit de colecţii de muzică, merită să vizitaţi site-ul tun3r.com, o colecţie de posturi de radio ce emit online organizată în cel mai pur stil web 2.0.

Audiţie plăcută.

Later edit: am avut ocazia să testez eOK şi facilitatea de a asculta muzică în flux de streaming. Mi-a plăcut faptul că player-ul poate fi deschis într-un pop-up window şi piesele din playlist pot fi ascultate chiar dacă se părăseşte site-ul eOK. Nu mi-a plăcut faptul că nu am acces la butoane sau scroll bar orizontal de genul REW şi FFW.

În rest, eOK se prezintă ca orice altp reţeasocială cufacilităţi de album foto, video sau blog. Probabil şi alte opţiuni în funcţie de statutul pentru care optezi în momentul înscrierii: utilizator, DJ, producător etc.

Ich hab von nem Kumpel ein Hammer Programm bekommen mit dem man sehr, sehr viele Radiostreams weltweit anhören kann. Das Teil nennt sich Screamer Radio und steht zum kostenlosen Download zur Verfügung. Man hat alle möglichen Webradios auf einen Blick und sogar in verschiedenen Kategorien angeordnet vor sich. Nun kann man ganz einfach den gewünschten Radiosender auswählen und ihn hören. Eines der besten Features ist die Aufnahme, Super Qualität, Super schnelle Speicherung und im MP3-Format. Bei wenigen Streams fehlen die Quellen, dies kommt aber nicht sehr oft vor. Ausserdem werden die Stream-Listen fast täglich aktualisiert. Das Menü ist einfach und unkompliziert aufgebaut. Ho scoperto questo Screamer Radio che è un piccolo programma freeware per Windows e funziona da riproduttore-registratore di web radio. Ha molti link a radio (anche italiane) che trasmettono i propri stream in Internet e la caratteristica che può renderlo interessante è il fatto che dispone anche di una versione che non necessita di essere installata. Pertanto si presta facilmente ad essere copiato su una chiavetta USB ed essere lanciato da lì.

Come sfruttare internet nel suo florilegio di radio trasmettenti da tutto il mondo, nel nostro caso ne potremo ascoltare circa una settantina direttamente dall’Argentina. Vi consiglio di scaricare questo piccolo programmino gratuito che funziona anche se messo su una penna USB: si chiama Screamer Radio, con il quale volendo si può anche registrare ciò che si ascolta. E’ un po’ meno pesante lavorare sulle splendide note trasmesse da Tango Rosario… Questa radio in particolare è splendida perchè trasmette tutti i brani per intero e prima di ogni brano una voce ne annuncia titolo ed esecutore.
