The report starts out, “Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack (sic) Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.”

The report continues to discuss the allegations against Ryan, Obama’s opponent in his race for the U.S. Senate, and his decision to drop out, virtually handing the Senate seat to the political newcomer.

The article is credited to the wire service Associated Press at the bottom of the page. However, the article could not be found either in the AP archives available to the public online or the archive on the newspaper’s website. WND telephone calls and e-mails to the newspaper did not generate a response.

At the Post & Email blog, writer John Charlton offered several explanations, including the suggestion references to Obama’s birth have been scrubbed.

He wrote that a search of Google for the issue produced unusual results.

“When you attempt to search for ‘Kenyan-born Obama’; results are missing; years prior to 2004 seem scrubbed; and when you click a link to an article in 2000, you get an article in 2004.

“Deliberate sabotage of their own news archive?” he wondered.

He said searching Google for the reference words “Kenyan-born U.S. Senator Obama hopeful…” came up with a 1981 New York times reference, but Obama is not in the article.

“There is no mention of Obama from 1981 to 2000; despite all his ‘work with the poor’ in Chicago,” Charlton continued.

The June 27, 2004, article from the Standard doesn’t appear.

A further link to PBS leads to a story about Obama’s Senate victory, another to USA Today talks about Obama’s father being Kenyan-born and another from 2004 does the same.

“Then, you would not believe it; but all the newspapers in the world, during the period from Jan. 1, 2005 to April 12, 2006, don’t make one mention of Obama! Not even one,” he said.

The bottom line, however, Charlton wrote, should not be what published reports have said, but what proof Obama can provide.

“If Obama cannot show documents which prove he is born in the USA; the mere fact that he has claimed to be born overseas and in the U.S.A.; first at one hospital in Hawaii and then at another; means that nothing he says in court, and no document presented by his campaign could be taken as prima facie evidence of anything.”

US Presidential Polls:Obama, McCain slug it out today

Americans will today go to the polls to elect their next President with Democratic Party candidate, Senator Barack Obama largely favoured to win.

The Kenyan-born Senator will, however, face a stiff competition from his Republican counterpart, John McCain who has taken the presidential battle to the finishing line with vigorous campaign strategies.

Barak Obama is a politician who grew up with differing ideas probably due to his background. Someone who believes in the ability to unite people around a politics of purposes, the Illinois Senator has been known for working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead of creating programs like the state earned income tax credit. In three years, the said project provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. The Kenya-born Senator, who is being considered by some of his admirers as the “New Kennedy” also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education. In another development, after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, he worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital offence cases.

Woah!  This is an interesting one.

A group called Americans for Limited Government on Thursday accused a producer for NBC’s "Dateline" of sending them an anti-Semitic e-mail message in response to the organization’s request for Congress to defund the controversial group ACORN.

The mass e-mail in question, sent by ALG’s Alex Rosenwald to many members of the media including NBC’s Jane Stone, said:

“The only way Congress can unravel all of the various funding measures in the ‘stimulus,’ in the ‘Foreclosure Prevention Act,’ and other measures is to pass the ‘Defund ACORN Act’ immediately. They should do it now. Before ACORN spends it all.” — ALG President Bill Wilson

According to ALG, Stone responded:

The Capital Research Center’s Matthew Vadum, who is also a contributor to NewsBusters, posted a screen-cap of the e-mail message at Andrew Breitbart’s website Big Government.

Politico’s Michael Calderone reported on this matter Friday:

NBC News president Steve Capus fired back at Americans for Limited Government Friday, after the conservative group published an email allegedly from NBC producer Jane Stone to its director of media outreach Alex Rosenwald, with one line: “Bite me Jew Boy.”
“I’m still in shock, and outraged that this reckless organization would go out with such a defamatory, irresponsible statement,” Capus told POLITICO. “We have done a complete email analysis, all of our IT, all of our records.”

Here’s what both sides agree on: Stone responded yesterday to a mass email from ALG.

But Stone’s response email—provided to POLITICO—did not have any anti-Semitic comment. In fact, it had just one line: “Take me off this list!” (There are also subtle differences, including number of dashes, between the two emails).

“Somebody, on the other end, I’m assuming, took the return stamp from the email and then put in this hateful message,” Capus said. “I don’t know who did it. It’s outrageous to suspect that somebody from NBC News would do it.”

For its part, ALG responded:

We at Americans for Limited Government are saddened that instead of helping us to get to the bottom of the hateful email that was indeed sent from NBC’s server, and this can be verified, and was not tampered with, which can also be verified, that NBC President Steve Capus has instead chosen to circle the wagons and protect what is indefensible with hysterical, frantic accusations.

This email has left a digital footprint that is undeniable. We did our due diligence. We have confirmed that it indeed came from NBC’s server and Jane Stone’s email address.

As before, we renew our offer that we made to both Ms. Stone and NBC President Capus over the phone today to get to the bottom of who sent this email from Ms. Stone’s Blackberry email address. That offer remains open, and we would like it very much if both Ms. Stone and NBC would issue an apology to both Americans for Limited Government, and Mr. Alex Rosenwald, who was the target of this hateful email.

Where does this go from here?

As of today, the anime form of Umineko no Naku Koro ni is headed towards a successful begining. The first episode of the series is interesting and covers the visual novel with accuracy.

Happy Belated Holidays everyone!

I come baring gifts! Well…A gift. I decided to do a screen cap of Neria, main character later on in the story. I was watching the amusing “Sinbad: legend of the seven seas” on cartoon network and saw Eris. She completely inspired me to draw Neria. Eris is such a deliciously mischievous character and I saw her connections with Neria.

So here we are!

Star Wars has officially broken into television with the Clone Wars animated series that started on Friday. The end result is an enjoyable, if very mixed.

In this episode, Jedi Master Yoda arrives to the planet Toydaria in order to negotiate a treaty with the local government. Arriving under fire, Yoda lands on the planet with a trio of Clone Troopers. Once on the planet, they must run from a Separatist battle group, before reaching the planet’s King, and negotiating a treaty.

I found this first episode to be very mixed, and aimed primarily towards a much younger demographic. A 7 or 8 year old will approach this much differently than someone who was the original in 1977. Political negotiations are reduced to a contest, and the Battle Droids have taken on their own personalities, which is nothing short of irritating for anyone over the age of 8.

From my viewing of the movie and the first episode, I have a couple concerns about the continuity of each episode – thus far, there doesn’t seem to be any lasting connection between each episode, and there doesn’t really seem to be any overall storyline that’ll overarc the episodes and fit better with the rest of the Clone Wars series, which includes the older cartoons, short stories, novels and comic books.

The episode does have some of its good parts, which make this slightly better than expected. As someone who pays attention to armor, the creators have a very good eye towards the clone troopers, given them unique personalities and appearances, which is to be expected with a cloned military. The production team should be credited for this attention to detail, because it’s what is going to make or break the show in my eyes.

I found the first half of the episode to be much more annoying than good. Once the action in the episode picked up, it became much better – the Clones did what they were supposed to do, and the episode progressed with much more logical sense than. Several moments were paticularly well done, such as when Yoda and the three Clones huddled in the cave and spoke.

Additionally, the visuals are nothing short of stunning. There are a number of fairly complicated scenes, which are all extremely well done – space, battle scenes, faces – if there’s anything that George Lucas is very good at, it’s giving their productions a very, very good look, whether it’s animation or CGI.

If the screenwriters could match the animators, this could be a very promising start. As it is, I suspect that this will be very appealing and popular for the younger generations, but so far, it’s a far cry from what the franchise should be.

So I was rewatching the 07/02 episode of Hello! Morning (I still miss that show) and decided to go crazy by taking caps of the show for all the Tanakamei goodness it had! I mean, they appeared next to each other– in physical contact (for more than 3secs) on that one show more than you see them like that in many other things combined. So this is a must *is a bit insane*. But before I start, I will say that I won’t be providing a download to this episode as my copy of it is too large…yes, I tried spliting it, but that was still ridiculous. Also, this is not a full review, as I’m doing this for Tanakamei purposes.

This episode starts off with the Zekkyou CM segment. Eri introduces the segment and notices that Reina and Risa are sitting around drawing The Evil Pink Bunny as it poses on the ground (and would not stop moving). She goes to join in *insert Risa commenting on Eri’s drawing abilities*. This determines who will be riding the rollercoaster for that day.

Everything is well until–

Eri: “Reina, it’s not what you think!!”
Reina: “Save it, Eri! I saw everything– you and Niigaki-san!”
Risa: “Kame, no~! Come back to Me!”
…
Risa: “Ooo, ice cream truck!!”

Heheh, not. So really, Reina’s drawing was shown, E.P. Bunny thought it was gross (it was actually the best one) and tossed it to the floor, leaving Reina quite angry. She ends up being the one to ride the featured scream machine.

Both Reina and that dude (one of the hosts for the segment) are from Fukuoka. The way he asked her which part she was from was so hilarious XD.(Thumbnails)

Winning their first act on the second round– but over bidding, Tanakamei realized they had made a mistake; they wearn’t very funny. Oh snap.

They were fooled by the shouts of “Mitai mitai!” from the other teams as the comedian was introduced. What they thought would be tough competition turned out to be…not. In Reina’s own royal words, “Nani Kore Jyuu te?”.

Eri: “We screwed up, didn’t we?”
Reina: “Yeah. Bad.”

So that guy didn’t even make it on to the top three list, leaving Tanakamei with yet another feeling of defeat. With 400 moni left, what do they decide to do for the next round?

GO ALL OUT– crash and burn XD. Funny how they’re the youngest team. They got owned by their senpais. Look at them huddled together in their “we’re down” position haha.

They’re just the cutest little pair, but with such bad luck. But it seems they had fun losing. Lotza laughs lol. Anyone who has it, rewatch it. Don’t have it? Hunt it down. You know, I spent hours looking for this episode for an OPV and didn’t realize I had it in a weird place. Too late now.

Today is the 25th~! It’s Christmas! I don’t really celebrate xmas, but it’s such a commercialized thing, you don’t really realize you’re celebrating it.

HAVE A HAPPY TANAKAMEI FILLED HOLIDAY~!

Note the GTA version shows the Transamerica building clearly to the east although Coit Tower actually is the most visible structure and the Transamerica building isn’t visible at all from the top of Hyde/Lombard. Draw distance is also significantly higher in real life than on the PS2, at least on clear days.

I am a big fan of the taxi driving mission on the Grand Theft Auto series. After driving taxi in real life for a few months here is a quick comparison of the two experiences…
