So, after a bunch of unlucky nights we finely managed. First was an incredible server lag with ppl dc-ing and with huge lag spikes at 10%, then it was people dc’d and even a bug that we still try to figure out what caused.

If anyone can explain how the boss chanced target here I would love to find out the reason. Some said is about the healing that one of the  shamans has casted, but is still questionable. We defined as a bug or broken mechanics.

Anyway, we finely managed to take it down and the feeling was still nice, I must admit.

In the screen shot  you can see that I moved my grid frame to the middle so I won’t miss again my penetrating cold target, since I had 2 so was pretty intensive. Last reset I lost a target because for some reason the mark didn’t apply and I was desperate searching for “diamond”…  For completing my task  as a disc priest I must thank Quater for the help on “cross” It was a really nice job from everyone, so congrats BARBARIANS !

To quote my guild master:

I hate this kind of achievements and i think, i am really not the only one! We lost it a few times due to server lag in phase 3 or random dcs, and other times because of us failing , but in the end we got it: Heroic Tribute to Insanity! And no, we do not plan to attempt Immortality any time soon!

On a side note… I would really like to know how you feel healing penetrating cold in phase 3 (if you have 2) because I really stop breathing.

Ubuntu 9.04 – screen shot. I have a setup of the OS using compiz effects. To scroll between multiple desktops using a cylinder effect. I have four workspaces set up.

Ubuntu is an open-source OS (operating system).
Pros:
Multiple workspaces
CPU Scaling
The OS is more secure than others
Alchemy – Pretty nifty open source drawing program
MyPaint – Alternative to using Corel Painter
GIMP – Alternative to using Photoshop
VLC Media Player – Alternative to using Winamp
Open Office – Alternative to using MS Office (opens most MS Office documents)
Wine – Allows user to run most supported MS Windows .exe programs in Ubuntu (I was able to get Guild Wars to run, but the play was slightly choppy as it wasn’t taking full advantage of the graphics hardware in my laptop). I mostly run Flash 8 under Wine
Ubuntu supports Wacom tablet drivers / functionality in most programs

Cons:
Guild Wars runs choppy under Wine.
Open Canvas crashes after a while under Wine.

The Pros for me out weight the cons. I have a dual boot system with Ubuntu 9.04 and Windows XP Pro. I keep Windows around to play Guild Wars.

There are lots of little keyboard tricks that make the game a bit more streamlined to play.  I often see people asking about them in the /advice channel, so I thought I’d share with you the ones that I’ve learned about so far.

• Alt-F4 quits the game
• To link an item in chat, make sure your cursor is in the dialogue box, then Ctrl+Right click the item
• The Printscreen (Prt Sc) button takes a screen shot
• F12 removes all UI from view
• Ctrl + \ allows you to move the UI elements (such as the mini-map or Fellowship Maneouvres pop-up) around the screen
• ‘N‘ toggles names/labels on and off
• Ctrl Enter allows you to minimize the game

I like using F12 and N to remove all words from the screen so that I can take a screenshot.  It will be saved in your Lord of the Rings Online folder.  I always seem to be running across scenes that just look so amazing that I want to remember them.  Or they’re just funny or weird and make me laugh.  Here are some of my favourites so far.  I just love the one with the fox contemplating the river from atop the boulder!

Anyway, if I have forgotten any keyboards quick tricks, let me know in the comments and I’ll edit the post to include them.

I really have explained everything in the screenshot. Also the Boss Mod is not DXV, its DXE ( ye sorry )

For the grid, you can see that The small squares on the corners of the frames are my HoTs.

Top Left is Rejuvenation. Its green, Yellow-ish at 6 seconds left, and red on less then 3 seconds left on it.

Top Right is Regrowth. Its green, Yellow at 6 seconds left, Red at 3 or less Seconds left.

The Borders is Wild Growth. Its Green – yellow (3seconds) – Red (1 left, basicly a refresher)

Also, the player bar color is changed when a player has a curse or a poison, its marked on the Screenshot.

@ Tiuu – if you read this, I love what you did with it and I might still your position of grid since I see everyday a lot of players using raid frames in the middle of there screen. Of course  that will be available for download since my self I find it better on the middle right.

And now, how can i forget Therelin!!! he played with Bati’s UI a few hours each day i guess but the best result i think is this:

@Therelin – i can’t believe you tried to redo the layouts but it does look good. I am even thinking to make a compilation with this because i remember i had a few good weeks PM’s on the forums i have posted. At the moment i am running 2 wow on my pc… so I can play with UI’s on one and raid, do stuffs on the other one.

Just noticed your site about your UI, and figured I would give an updated pic so far.

I put most of my stuff near my character because I am more of a PvE player, did AB just to get a picture. Above grid is debuffs I get, and below grid I have the anchor showing hence the “Blessing of Demonstration” but that shows me any buffs in raids that benefit me. Malygos stacks, Toasty Fire on Hodir etc. They are also sized for 25 player raids, to stretch across the top and bottom evenly but AB is only 15 people so they hang off the side and look sloppy =P. Two buttons under my character are shield trackers. The grid style I have is what I used before I switched to your awesome UI, and I tried to keep using your grid frames, but I just ended up missing mine =P. I prefer health bars depleting downward instead of right to left, class color health bars etc.

But thats it so far, it will definitely be changing constantly for at least another month =P. But thats the progress so far.

Today i have received a e-mail from Morphæx. Hakkar EU, <Adrenaline> Guild

He has the latest version but what i really like is the totem bars and durations… I apologize to all the shamans that have hard time sorting that out. Been started a shaman my self but i still can’t make totem bar to show… is 17 now. I think I am doing something wrong.

So… this will be really really short and is only to say thank you, my arena partners. We got tonight Hot Streak and I am really happy because was in 5v5 bracket and this team is fairly new. At the moment we have 1463 rating with 39 wins and … y, 14 looses. We had the chance for this a few times but as usual last one we lost it.

A month or two ago I watched some videos about this game, and knew it was coming out in english, but wasn’t too excited. Then a few days ago my boyfriend told me, multiple times, that the early access was open. Ignored that though, I wasn’t interested enough to sign-up. He bugged me about it several times and I eventually gave in >_< to which he told me he already signed me up, haha.

Well, I’m glad he did that <3

This is an amazing game, and I love playing it. There are few games that I’ll actually play with other people for one reason or another, but this is even more fun with people. Plus you get more EXP in groups which is great.

Well first it was a pen and paper tabletop, then it was an arcade game, now an MMO!

The game is published by Nexon.

It’s free to play, but you can buy special items with Nexon points/money.

Has a unique style, like a side-scroller arcade game, but with the RPG twist of leveling up/gear/ect. put into an MMO setting.

It’s a ton of fun to play with others, and doesn’t feel grindy at all.

It’s crazy. And full of gold/level sellers, really annoying.

I play on the first server/channel 1 so it has the most people, but it seems like this is the norm on most servers. It’s not too bad, no one is annoying other than the gold sellers, ugh.

THE NEW (extended!!) TRAILER IS OUT!

I make no secret that I’m not a huge fan of the first movie; the lighting was weird, so many of the lines are cheesy times 1,000, the acting was bad. I’m stoked, however, but this trailer- it appears that New Moon should be 1,000 times better than Twilight.

My favorite scene of the trailer is the one below, where [spoiler alert!] Bella cliff dives and begins to drown after being caught in the rough water, only to be saved by Jacob’s hand. The way Edward’s image dissipates as her hand drags upward is beautiful. Check it:
