haha I am so happy right now!! I’m gonna watch Ninja Assassin (of course it’s asian I have to watch it!) tomorrow on Thanksgiving!! then i get to spend Thanksgiving with one of my best buddies!! We have everything settled for it! But I also figured how to watch korean channels live and figured out the right times for it because of my other buddy 2! I figured how to make screenshots and 2PM won the Best Artist Of The Year Award at MAMA and i loved their performance! !! i watched the videos yesterday!! I was so happy!! and I know the names of many asian music groups now!! lol now you can know the reason behind my happiness! Almost PARADISE! i had to say that!

A few days ago I showed you how I applied qTip, a jQuery Tooltip plugin, to JungleDragon’s karma control:

The karma control is permanently visible for every logged in user at JungleDragon and basically shows their reputation:

• Karma is at the base, they are the credits you earn for positive actions. It is visualized as a progress bar.
• The progress bar shows how far the user has progressed in their level. At 100% they are promoted to the next level.
• Every few levels, you get upgraded to a new class. The class is the animal in the food chain that your reputation is associated with.

None of this is new to people who follow this blog. However, what is new is that I have now implemented some cool jQuery animations that run at certain events, such as earning new karma, promoting to a new level or promoting to a new class. Check out the video below for the effects:

Scene 1: Karma control placement and tooltips

This scene shows where the control is positioned on a JungleDragon page. Next, it shows the tooltips in action.

Scene 2: Karma upgrade

This scene focuses on the control to see the full effect of what happens when the user has earned new karma, for example right after uploading a new image. It displays and blinks the newly earned karma. Next, it redraws the progress bar in a cool animation to reflect your new reputation. Finally, the user’s avatar blinks twice to indicate that the animation ended.

Scene 3: Level upgrade

This scene shows what happens when users are promoted to the next level. It shows and blinks the level upgrade message and then blinks the new level number a few times. Notice how the progress bar is now at the beginning of the new level, encouraging the user to grow into this new level.

Your level is displayed everywhere you are mentioned: when you upload an image, post a comment, make a vote, etc. It is therefore a highly visible and competitive reputation indicator.

Scene 4: Class upgrade

This scene show what happens when users are promoted to the next class. It shows and blinks the class upgrade message and then blinks the new class image a few times. It can take several levels to promote to a new class. Like the level indicator, the class image and name are displayed throughout JungleDragon. It is a highly visual and visible reputation indicator, designed to enourage activity and competition.

Well, that’s it. I fully realize one should be careful in using animations on the web, but I found this area to be worth innovating in. The reputation system of JungleDragon is unique, and I consider it to be an essential component to engage the community that I intend to grow.

No, not that KT! The one in Tempest Keep. Last night was Classic Raid Night at Crits so 17 of us wandered to Netherstorm to take on Kael’Thas and pray for a mount like this one.

It was all fun and games … lots of turning people into leper  gnomes and skeletons with leftover wands from Hallow’s End, lots of drinking Brewfest Brew and dancing, lots of misdirecting mobs to the level 73 warlock … you know, the usual.

Until we got to KT himself, of course. What a fight! I got mind controlled … and wiped out most of the raid. My scrolling battle text flashes on the screen in big letters whenever I get a killing blow. Ya … I got KBs on at least two people in the raid. Oops?

Next fight went fine though because now we’d seen it once. When someone got mind controlled, they got sheeped. No problem. Achievement spam ftw.

We headed back to A’lar because we had saved him for last … and that’s when the battlegroup went down.  Doh!

Sooo … I talked Trout into logging onto his cute belflock on Dawnbringer. Juna and Teufel had lots of fun bouncing turkeys legs and pumpkin pie off each others’ heads.

He even danced nekkid on the table! I’m sure Arioch will approve.

So we hit all four cities and got our Pilgrims’ Paunch then he had to go to bed. So I got on my little belf pally Galor and did all the quests….and killed a ton of turkeys.

Karius and Kalyon should be getting their titles and pets today, so I’m off to do that now. Bye bye!

At first look Allods Online looks to be just another fantasy MMORPG, but looks can be deceiving. �Allods is fantasy sci-fi mix reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII. �There are 6 races in the game which are split into two warring factions. �On one side you have The Leauge (good guys) and the other, The Empire (bad guys). �Each side has three races you can select from, most being the common races that you would find in any fantasy MMORPG. �The 6 races are split into 8 archetypes and 28 classes.

Starting off with The League, you have Kanians (Humans), Elves and Gibberlings. � If you ever played any MMORPG, then you already have a good idea of what the human and elven races can do. �The Gibberlings however are these small cute, furry animals that remind me of Snaft from Thundercats. �Gibberlings are stealthy, tricky and quick creatures which sounds like they would be fun to play.

On the other side, The Empire, you have Xadaganians (humans), Orcs and Arisen. Again, I’m sure you are already familiar with the human and orc races so I’ll just skip them and go straight to the Arisen. �The Arisen are undead beings that have dedicated themselves to science and technology. �Because of this the Arisen are sorta like the Borg in Star Trek having combined their bodies with technology.

Allods Online takes place on the planet Sarnaut, which is split into continents and islands. �In order to travel throughout the continents gamers have a variety of ways to get around, one being in a massive ship which players will be able to get later on in the game.

From what I’ve seen of Allods Online so far, it looks great and it seems others agree as well. �Allods Online won Best Game 2009 & Audience Choice awards from the Russian Game Developers Conference. �Check out some of the screenshots below.

In the latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine a teaser for a horror sequel has been placed in the “Next Month” section of the magazine. Presented is a picture of a gas mask with tentacles bursting through its lenses. The creature is obscured by some type of pattern, which looks kind of familiar…

After filming a trailer for this level and having to work my way back through it to get this screenshot, I have to say, this is quite a top-notch level. The simplistic design makes sure not to distract away from the core of the level, which is, of course, the intense gameplay. After playing this level upwards of 5-7 times, getting past the challenges has become almost a second nature to me, but don’t worry, if you’re playing it for the first time, you will die at least a few times. But, anyways, if you have some free time, I highly recommend you check out this level by maximumdragon.

Well, should we pity the rogues this week?  AHAHAHAHA.  Are you, like, kidding?  Nah.

That’s who I pity.  He’s going to be rolled multiple times this week.  The insult to the injury being we’re wearing silly Pilgrim costumes while we do it.

Anyway, this involves a lot of running around, so my advice is:  Marry a mage. 

Oh, yeah, I also leveled up my Cooking to do get to do this achievement.  (Don’t forget there’s level 70 Ravagers in Hellfire Penninsula that have a MUCH higher drop rate for ravager flesh.  (To get you from 300 to 325.))  I was level 1 in Cooking on the Day of the Dead celebration.  Today, after cooking up a couple of Turkey feasts, am level 348.  The things we do for a dumb outfit and a silly title.  Now I have to find more rogues and pick up more weapons to shoot them with.  (And visit the Horde cities.)

I have just created my VirtualBox Virtual Machine to hosting Google Chrome OS. I’m so busy during these days, and I only tryed it at last for 10 minutes.

If you are interested to try it, get the image from GDGT… After this step, you must install VirtualBox from Sun Microsystems; create your personal virtual machine to emulate a Linux Ubuntu Operating System.

After that, you only have to select your Google Chrome OS image (that you’ve just downloaded from GDGT) and start your Virtual Machine.

You should log in with your GMail Account, or if there are network problems and you see this advice: Network not connected and offline login fail, you must log in with USERNAME: chronos PASSWORD: password or left blank.

The very unique, very interesting and very weird PlayStation Network game, Noby Noby Boy has finally made it to Jupiter. If you decide to play Noby Noby Boy then you’ll have to update it to get access to Jupiter.

Anything Beats Everything is a cool game I’m making in Flash, in ActionScript 3.

I needed a small, simple game project to complete on my own. So I thought of this energetic game concept and made a non-playable prototype two nights ago, showing lots of colors and a variety of simple but colorful graphics.

Here’s how ABE’s played. You start with a certain time, say 30 seconds. Basic instructions on what to look for appear quickly as happy hardcore music starts playing. Then the screen fills up with items, one of which fits the description. Timer starts counting down.

If you click on the wrong object, you lose time. If you get the right item, you gain a bit of time. The goal is to survive as long as possible as the “levels” get harder. And by harder I mean more animated chaos, more items, smaller items, smaller differences, more craziness.

Hopefully I’ll have things animated to the beat of the music and will achieve a fast-paced, hyper game of chaos and observation.

More news on that as soon as I can manage to learn enough ActionScript to code the randomization of the levels, the timer and the score counter.

So yeah, not much to show for now, you have to see it in motion… See further in the thread for more level examples.

I’m thinking of having a WIDE variety of items in there. For now I have those:
Bacon, bird, carrot, clown, birdman, mummy, death, flame, tomato, shovel, cake, RUNMAN, masks, leaf, cookie, skull, fishbones, nazi helmet, dollar bill, sandglass, cheese, alien, snowman, robot. But I plan on adding random stuff like Obama, Eiffel Towers, Lego Bricks, my head, planets, Yetis, Vampires, Hitlers, gorillas, nukes, coins, flags, ink stains, Hulks, rocketmen, pirates, pin-up ladies, baseball cards, etc.

I’m hoping to get a bunch of artists to participate once it’s easy to add in new “levels”. If you’re ever interested to have, say, your RunMan in there, or your Spelunker, your Viking, or anything really, I’ll keep you posted.

First off, with the overhaul of the UI my current one is completely hosed.  Luckily, I just happen to follow the LOTRO Interface RSS feed and noticed the Multibar Clean Toolbar UI.  This only works with the Mirkwood client, but for me I really like it as it is nice and clean.  Notice the buttons on the bottom are customizable just like the normal UI – I’m not sure I’ll stick with those, but I’ll usually either have my whole inventory up or just the first bag.

I also decided to check out one of the survival skirmishes – sadly the only one I had access to was the small fellowship one, but figured I’d give it a go.  Sadly real-life was not cooperative and I didn’t get very far, but it is a very cool idea that I can’t wait to check out more once live hits.

I’ll also include some stat comparisons, which aren’t 100% accurate as my legendaries from live and bullroarer aren’t quite exact nor are my traits.  However, I did notice that on live I’m at 19% incoming melee so I’ll have to figure out what I’ll dump to get back down to the cap.  Most likely it will be runes/settings but I haven’t decided yet.
