ABC veröffentlichte kürzlich weitere Trailer, um die „neue Comedy“ mit seinen neuen Darstellern so gut wie möglich anzupreisen. Ob dieser gewagte Schritt gelingen wird, wird sich zeigen. Man muss wohl einfach mal abwarten, wie das Publikum die neuen Charaktere annehmen wird.

As those of you who religeously read my blog know, Dave Franco is set to make his debut on “Scrubs” next Tuesday night as the rich, cocky medical student Cole.   And if you knew that, then you probably know I’m ridiculously excited that he’s back spreading his awesomeness on TV again (sadly “Do Not Disturbed” was prematurely cancelled). 

So much to my happiness while browsing around YouTube last night at 3 AM due to insomnia and ADD, I found a just released clip from ABC featuring Davey Dave, and I’m happy to say that everything looks very promising for the series.  So click away for your first look at the new and improved “Scrubs”!

Zur Einstimmung: Was wird sich in der neuen Staffel am Cast ändern?

Fakt ist, dass J.D (Zach Braff) und Elliot (Sarah Chalke) vorerst nur in den ersten sechs Folgen der Neuauflage von Scrubs zu sehen sein werden.
Als bekannte Hauptdarsteller agieren weiterhin John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox) und Donald Faison (Turk).
Und um die Stimmung noch etwas mehr anzuheizen gleich noch der erste Trailer hinterher:

Although, I’m still unsure about ABC’s decision to keep Scrubs going, I still want the show to do well, so I wanted to share some of the new promos that have been coming out.
The crazy things is, Scrubs has gotten way more promotion these past two seasons than it did when it was at NBC, but the ratings have taken a hit. Maybe this new version will revitalize the interest in the show, but I’ve already read some backlash from fans on the net. We’ll just have to see what happens.

  There are few things in life that mirror our own personal worlds as much as television can.  Maybe it’s because we entrench ourselves so deeply into these fantasy worlds each week that we subconsciously live our lives in accordance with what we see on our flat screens.  Or maybe we are drawn to the programs that have some commonality with what we are going through.  I personally think both theories have some merit to them.  It may not be the most scientific or most thoroughly tested theories, but in my own realm, there are programs that are eerily similar.

Grey’s Anatomy is a program that I wish would just end.  Not because I don’t enjoy watching it.  It’s mainly because for many episodes, it worked as a mirror for my personal relationship with my last girlfriend.  When the main characters were going through the “finding each other out” phase and the “sneaking around” phase, so were we.  When they finally committed to each other and became more serious, so did we.  When they had fights, in some small way, we had similar fights.  They only thing that’s different is that the fictional couple is married now, and me and my ex are just now on speaking terms again.  I lived and died so many times with the cast of Grey’s that I feel like I have nothing left to give the show, and vice versa.  I still enjoy watching it, but not for the same reasons.

Scrubs was a show that I had viewed in passing when it first aired, but never watched “religiously” until I started dating my ex.  Now, I own every season on DVD,  I watch them over and over again.  I compare JD to myself in many ways, while Turk mirrored by my real life best friend, and Carla by his girlfriend.  I don’t have a Dr. Cox, which saddens me, but I digress.  Scrubs is the only show that can make me laugh out loud one minute, then get misty eyed a few minutes later.  I recently viewed the season finale for Season Eight, and I’m man enough to admit that I shed a few tears.  My roommate saw this and started laughing at my emotional display.  I know it’s foolish to cry during television programs, but once in a while, one comes across a show that just resonates with them on some other level.  This show was such a huge staple in my early adult life that I feel an attachment to the cast.  I know there is some clinical diagnosis for this, but I don’t care.  I love Scrubs.

How I Met Your Mother may be one of the most original shows in recent years.  Set in the future and told through a series of flashbacks, which oddly enough are happening right now, it’s the story of a man telling his kids how he met their mother.  While it boasts a solid cast, there is no comparison to the character Barney.  Played to the “T” by Neil Patrick Harris, which if you think about it, is quite a feat of acting ability.  NPH is gay in real life, and he plays the womanizing, boozing, man-child so perfectly, that you’d think he was the version of himself he plays in the Harold and Kumar films.  The thing that sets this show apart is how it uses new media to tie in jokes that the audience can interact with.  Fictitious websites and videos that normally would be taken in passing on normal shows are actually accessible to the audience.  Everything from whenn Marshall and Lily sold there stuff online, and actual set props and wardrobe were auctioned off for charity, to videos of Robin as a pop star in Canada, to websites devoted to Ted being a jerk.  I feel that this show is slowly coming to a climax (Barney would laugh here) and that we will soon discover who the mother will be.  Until then, I can just enjoy every slap, one-liner, and flashback.

is coming back, well, kind of. It’s coming back at ‘Scrubs: Interns’ according to IMDB.

Today, after all of you have seen the final of my favourite TV-show of all time at my 21st birthday, on May 6th this year, I did it too. “My Finale” sets an impressive dot at the end of this wonderful series.

Since the first time on air in Austria and Germany, I’ve watched every episode I was able to. And with all this endless reruns while waiting for the next synchronized seasons, I know can say, that I’ve really seen every episode. And because I didn’t want to wait again some weeks and months ’till the start of the eight season here, I watched Scrubs on the Internet.

Season 8 is really great. One of the best, I think. So many crazy, funny things happens, so many patients to feel with. So many J.D./Turk – fun. All about love, feelings, life and at least: growing up.

Maybe that’s the reason I love this series. Maybe just because it’s just like “Garden State”. A nice, wonderful, breath-taking growing-up thing.

As I’ve read on Wikipedia, ABC comes up with a new season. Renewing nearly the whole cast, planning 13 episodes for season 9, it seems, that they really want to set up a whole new series under the name of “Scrubs”. On December 1st 2009 Scrubs starts again with a double episode “Our First Day Of School” and “Our Drunk Friend”. I don’t know how it will be, but hey: If you see the first episodes of the new season, tell me how they are.

One of the things I always looked forward to every time a new episode of Scrubs aired was what song they would incorporate into the episode. Almost every episode ends with a montage accompanied by some of the best music I’ve ever heard. If I would have taken the time to actually go through every song they’ve used, this list would have been either much longer or much tougher to narrow down. Instead, I just went with the first ones that came to mind. If you haven’t seen Scrubs, get off your sorry ass and turn on a damn TV. It’s rerun on like five different channels these days.

Un símbolo. A veces sólo falta eso para que la serie de turno nos venga a la cabeza. Eso es lo que han debido de pensar los autores (o el autor) de estos carteles que hacen referencia a series de gran éxito. Algunas actuales y otras con más solera. Lo bueno es que su simpleza tambien tiene su complicación. Ya que estas cosas no se hacen así como así. Hacen falta grandes dosis de imaginación y saber bien sobre la serie que quieres tratar de homenajear. Por desconocimiento hay algunos carteles que no he llegado a entender muy bien, mientras que hay otros que al seguirlas los he reconocido de inmediato. Precisamente el que abre este post es uno de ellos. Los que no veais la serie “Dexter” igual no entendeis muy bien que han querido decir. Pero es una clara referencia a uno de los secretos del protagonista. Esas láminas de cristal en las cuales deja una gota de sangre de cada una de sus víctimas. Todas en una cajita, alineadas y guardadas en un aire acondicionado (en la cuarta temporada cambia su ubicación ).

Mis preferidas son, ésta, la de Prison Break, Twin Peaks, Los Ángeles de Charlie, Héroes, House M.D., El Coche Fantástico y McGyver. ¿Y las vuestras?

Or, A Novella About the Past Month of My Life, Mainly Focusing on the Last 2 Days Or So.

Sorry for the absence, gentle reader. Actually, quite a bit has happened lately, but I just haven’t had the time/motivation to chronicle all of them, except for the occasional Flickr post… That’s right, I just cross-promoted my own stuff – no shame – much like NBC according to Jon Stewart. BTW, I think Brian Williams is wonderful. Did you know he has an indie music blog cleverly (or cheesily, if you’re so inclined) titled BriTunes? The man wears many hats. You should also watch all the interviews between Jon Stewart and Brian Williams, because I have. For about 2 hours. In the school library. While I was “studying” for a test. No big. But really, they’re hilarious together and should really get a ro….uhh… show together.

Besides developing an old-enough-to-be-my-father crush on Brian Williams, I promise I’ve been doing other things. For one, I just took a mid-term exam yesterday, which somewhat explains my general MIA-ness lately. After about 11 weeks of denial, I finally came to terms with the fact that I’m actually in med school, and with that comes a bit of studying, I guess. It’s like the 5 stages of grief – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance – except I skipped 3 and 4 and am still dealing with some 2. (…So really, it’s not at all like the 5 stages of grief…?) But don’t worry, that acceptance in no ways guarantees that I’m gonna get my life together and start behaving responsibly. Like today, at the end of lab, the lab instructor gave us the “Feel free to leave early or stick around to identify more structures (in microscope slides) that we discussed today,” which in my ears sounded like “Feel free to leave if you’re a lazy student half-assing her way through med school. If you’re a half-way decent med student, you’ll stick around and identify some more basophils and Purkinje fibers.” I don’t know; maybe the acoustics was weird in the room. Of course, 60% of students in the room were ready to blow this popsicle stand and high-tail outta there, but 0% wanted to be the first one to do it. One of the guys finally broke the ice and said “I’m waiting for Yvonne to get up first.” Really, thanks for the shout-out. That’s right, I’ve become that girl – the bad influence your parents don’t want you to hang out with, the med school standard of mediocrity by which you compare yourself to cheer yourself up, the one who leaves early from lab when prompted. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I was late to lab in the first place. (Though in my defense, my room was cold so it was very hard to get out of bed this morning.)

Other than the foibles (can we just describe them as “endearing” and call it a day?) that are becoming all too common and turning into one giant mess called My Life/Education, I’m also developing other interests. For example, something brought this song to my mind last night, and of course, I had to YouTube it. The video is so hypnotically bad and unabashedly ridiculous that I just can’t stop watching it. Dancing dwarf? Check. Chicken masks? Check. Creepy maypole celebration? Check.

…Which brings me to this conversation that I really hope to have someday (with me assuming the role of Turk, obviously, and dancing my way out). I think we can all agree on a few things: 1. Turk/Donald Faison’s got moves that would make any brotha proud and incite intense envy from 20-something Asian females named Yvonne Chung, 2. let your son take dance lessons if he wants, and 3. we can dance if we want to. Basically, I want my future life to mirror Scrubs. (Dance-off in the OR? Aw hell yeah!)

p.s. In case you were wondering, the lab exodus did have a happy ending. Another guy pulled a Moses (lab “exodus”, get it? Hah…sorry) and finally got the chain of people leaving started. Thus, I was spared the label of “One-Who-Arrives-Late-and-Leaves-Early”. Whew! Another day of successfully avoiding scorn under my belt.

p.p.s. Check out Florence+the Machine. (Yes, I did get the recommendation from BriTunes; the man does have pretty good taste.) Think of her as a part Feist, part P.J. Harvey, with a bit of Celtic influence thrown in (not in a goofy way though).

I could write a post about how uncreative the Patrick and Robin plot is (yawn). I could say something about how uncomfortable it was to hear Patrick reminisce about his past sexual encounters with Lisa (ewwww!).  I could say how awesome I think Jonathan Jackson is (because he so is).

I could even delve into how mind-numbingly stupid this “mystery” photographer story has been thus far. (Really show? You expect anyone to even remotely suspect Johnny after seeing a million promos for James Franco as an “artist”? Really?)

Instead, I’ll simply leave you with a quote from my husband in response to that Nikolas/Elizabeth dream sequence:

“I think he is the grossest person I have ever seen.”

Enough said.

  In a strange yet completely understandable way Nikolas turned out to be the more honest of him and Elizabeth.  It doesn’t surprise me in the least considering how many times Liz has lied in the past.  Will that twit ever learn?  I gotta say when she apologized to Sam for the horrible way she has always treated her I secretly hoped Sam would spit in her face.  Yeah I know Sam stood by while a troubled woman kidnapped Jake.  While that was a horrible decision on Sam’s part, she has paid for it over and over again.  While Liz has managed to wander freely safe in her ivory tower.  I for one am glad to see it begin to crumble.  Maybe, just maybe we will get to see a new, improved, and yes a little bit flawed character come out of all this.  I doubt it but hey a girl can dream can’t she?

Finally, finally, finally we got to see some of that spunky attitude we were first introduced too when Rebecca first came to PC.  When Rebecca first came on I was hesitant because I was not ever a NuEmily fan (by NuEmily I mean once Natalia Livingston started playing her), but Rebecca was all attitude and fire.  Every NuEmily wasn’t.  So little by little I began to like her.  I didn’t mind when they put her with Lucky and I was really happy when it was discovered she had been having a relationship with Ethan.  But then they had to go and frak it up by turning her into Emily 3.0 and once again I found myself yawning whenever she came on the screen.  But man oh man did she come screaming back when Nikolas confessed to using her.  I wonder if this means that Rebecca will be the one to tell Lucky about him & Liz.  It sure would be poetic justice if she did. 

So Lucky doesn’t plan on being the one to take down Jason, damn I was hoping it would be him.  At least Lucky 4.0 isn’t the push over he used to be.  And for once the PCPD is running around like a bunch of bumbling baffoons.  It is so cool that this time the cops know more about solving the case than Jason or Sonny realize.  They had better keep on their game because I have a feelling someone is going down for this.  My magic 8-ball sees a trial in the future for Sonny and at the last minute Michael being wracked with guilt will come forward and make a full confession.  Whose with me on this one?  Oh I am so torn between JaSam & LuSam.  I am really enjoying JaSam 2.0, but I have to admit a part of me would love to see them throw Lucky & Sam back together to see if any sparks fly. 

  For a split second I actually started to think that maybe, just maybe Lisa was on the up and up.  Boy that feeling didn’t last long.  So little Miss Lisa Niles came all the way to PC for a patient consulation?  Yeah right!  What does she think we are stupid?  The only reason why a girl brings up sex with an ex is if she is hoping to plant seeds of excitement in her ex.  That girl is up to something and I don’t like it.  Luckily though her return so far only seems to be reminding Patrick of fun past times and for all intent and purpose he likes to look back on those memories but he seems to be perfectly happy living with Robin in the present.  So I say come on Lisa show us what you have got, because this is one couple that can take it.  In fact the only one I can see having a major problem with all this is Robin and that probably isn’t becuase she doubts Patricks love for her but her own insecurities about love itself.  Insecurities are a bitch and they can kick your ass everytime.  In other GH news we actually got to see Matt for the 2nd day in a row.  Jason Cook must be on cloud nine for all the attention the writers are throwing his way (yes that was sarcasm). 

I used to be a big JoLivia fan, but after all that time she spent with Sonny telling him that all this wasn’t his fault and how he is a good man (wait a minute I think I have to go throw up, nope I’m ok) I honestly wanted to scream when she told Johnny she just wanted to be with him.   Are you kidding me with this crap?   That woman should just stop berating Dante about leaving PC and tell him the truth already.  She is just leading him to danger.  And on top of it all while she is trying to comfort Johnny she is also trying to convince him to drop his desire to bring Sonny to justice over killing Claudia.  Hey chick that was his sister, even if you didn’t like her show the guy some respect by standing by his side in all this mess and stop fretting over poor misunderstood Sonny.  For every strong capable woman they have on this show they have another sniveling weak minded woman. 

Johnny just can’t seem to catch a break.  First his lady love has been going behind his back and propping up another man’s ego.  Then his sister gets murdered and is told to deal with it.  And finally he has his friend Spinelli (the guy whose life he has saved on more than one occasion) believes he was the one who sent the picture.   I wonder if Spinelli is going to go running back to Stone Cold and tell him what he thinks to know is true?  If he does it shows how much he doesn’t consider Johnny to be a friend.  I have a sneaking feeling that Johnny won’t mind so much after seeing the picture of the dead body if his father (the amazingly evil Anthony Z.) goes through with the hit on Sonny.  According to all the Spoiler sites there is going to be a death soon and I for one hope Johnny doesn’t have a date with the Grim Reaper.  Because man oh man Brandon Barash has been knocking it out of the park in these past few months.

JD: [makes fifth mark on "Girls I've Slept With" tally] Good thing you came along. I’ve been stuck on four since med school.

Season 2, episode 10:

Cox: It’s not like I’m gonna sit here, and count up all the women I’ve ever slept with…

Turk: Twelve.

JD: Nine.

Now I realize that this isn’t a priori an inconsistency since the number could conceivably have changed in the interim. But, given the events of Scrubs between those episodes, it did not. JD did not get any between Elliot in season 1 and Elliot in season 2.

I dunno, maybe “girls” and “women” count separately in Scrubs-universe.

Now the pièce de résistance: “I’ve been stuck on four since med school” is inaccurate too, since JD slept with Jordan in season 1 episode 6, at which point he was not in med school.
