After writing the May 26th post on “Starting Scrying” , I heard how a friend of mine was using a rather unusual object to scry in. As noted previously, you use a shiny or reflective object to gaze into when you scry in order to see images that will give you information or answer questions that you have. Some standard tools for scrying include a crystal ball, a polished piece of stone, or a darkly colored mirror.

     My friend has been using a turned-off computer monitor for scrying.

     This makes a lot of sense.  The surface is dark and reflective, thus being conducive for seeing visions with the mind’s eye. It’s easily available. And as I understand it, her philosophy is that we’re already conditioned to look for answers on that computer monitor, so our unconscious mind is already expecting to get results.

     I think this is brilliant. I’m already much in favor of doing magick with common household implements and this seems like a great combination of belief, technique and “using what ya got”. I’m going to have to try this one myself.

     We’ve defined scrying. We’ve gone over some of the tools you can use to scry. We’ve reviewed ways to prepare to scry to make it easier to suceed.

     Now it’s time to scry…

     You can start by setting an intention for your scrying. If you’re not familiar with setting intentions, this is basically forming a goal (such as ” I will see something that gives me useful information.” or ” I will see something about my financial situation.”) and holding it firmly in mind as you scry. An intention can be general or specific. Having an intention helps to support your own natural intuition.

     Look at your reflective item. I like to look and then “soften my gaze” so what I see is in softer focus or slightly blurry. It may be helpful to look “past the surface” of the object, in the same way you use your eyes when looking at three dimensional pictures.

     Hold your gaze steady with the intention that the visions will come. They may come as literal visual input or as things that aren’t truly visual but feel like it, seeing with your spirit as opposed to your eyes (that sounds very complex, but if it happens to you, you’ll recognize it.)

     Some folks see visions right away. Some may need longer or multiple sessions before they start picking up on this. People who are primarily visual in their learning style usually find this easier, but most folks can develop the ability to scry with practice. (The degree to which you can trust your own intuition can also affect this significantly.)

     Once you’re having visions, note the images you’re receiving. The knowledge they give you can be literal (ex:tripping on the stairs tommorrow) or symbolic (ex: a Noble Knight on a proud charger symbolizing True Love coming into your life). I’ll be talking about interpreting symbols in another post.

     Rinse and repeat. Like most things, the more you practice this, the better you’ll get at it.

     In my last post, I talked about what scrying is and the different kinds of tools, such crystal balls, mirrors and water (and even turned off computer screens…), that you could use for scrying.

     Now that we’ve laid the ground work, let’s prepare to scry.

     First, find a place and time where you’re as free from distractions as you can be. Lock the door, turn off the phone, shut down noisy appliances and send your family or friends to the movies. Either quiet or some kind of white noise, such as quiet background music may be helpful.

     Make yourself as comfortable as possible, not only in body, but also in mind or spirit. To do well at any kind of reading, you need to be able to focus, be present and pay attention to any input you get. This is difficult if you’re planning next week’s schedule or stressing over your friend’s romantic woes, so do your best to put other things aside for now so you can truly be present while you scry. You can always go back to these things (if you wish) after you finish.

     Take a deep breath and relax. Get ready to scry…

     I recently met a woman in a bookstore ( my natural habitat) who asked me if I knew anything about scrying. She had a bowl designed for scrying but had not yet had any sucess with it.

     Scrying is a form of psychic readings or perception that  works by gazing into a reflective surface in order to see visions. The reader interprets the visions she sees (whether  literal or symbolic) in order to gain information that was previously hidden.

     That sounds pretty cryptic, but you’re probably more aware of scrying than you think you are. The best known example of scrying is the classic “gazing into the crystal ball” , but scrying has also been done in bowls, mirrors, polished rocks, water and even metal shields. I tend to use a little glass candle holder to scry in, but any reflective item will do once you’ve got the technique.

     Different items are better for different people. You might hunger for that dramatic crystal ball but find you do much better with a polished onyx mirror or a simple candle holder like I do. While trying this, it’s important to stay flexible to your choices and find what works best for you.

I drove yesterday across the San Fernando Valley, primarily to pick up my wife’s new hikin’ shoes at REI, but also to view firsthand and report on the devestation left by the 3.1 earthquake that had shaken the area a few hours earlier and leveled Reseda. Fortunately Reseda before the earthquake was already absolutely level, so there was no devestation to view. Life went on exactly as before. Still, I took it as an omen of the evil times to be expected under the administration of Dear Leader — a sign of disapprobation from the angry Earth Gods.

But then another auspice raised my spirits. As I drove moodily northward upon Topanga Canyon Road, muttering darkly and peering through a misty rain for signs of Devonshire Street where I was to turn eastward, my heart leapt up as I beheld a rainbow in the sky. The airy spectrum beamed its glad tidings somewhere above Stoney Point Park where the rock climbers ascend and descend silently, ceaselessly. In one motion I snatched up the trusty camera that rode shotgun with me, and without pausing to aim, I snapped the photo you see heading this post.

A rainbow! A sign of hope! A promise from the Sky Gods! A favorable omen! A happy goodtime giddy… Oh, wait… It’s only half a rainbow. A semi-rainbow. See? It’s sort of stuck there in the gray, lowering clouds. One lousy chunk of a lousy broken rainbow!

Uh-oh.

Note:  Satanic Picture that is being described was removed from the “Pray for us” post,  for spiritual reasons that have now become obvious,  so just imagine what the picture looked like from the descriptions that are given……….

Satan is so subtle these days, you never know what is coming in your house. This is why it is so important to not be fearful but be open to the voice of the Lord and be filled with the Holy Spirit. My daughter and I recently dodged a satanic bullet that was meant to destroy us. Because my spiritual alarm went on full blast I didn’t directly see what was so threatening but I was compelled to fast the entire time we were under attack. I believe that is the reason why we are still here today. I posted a blog recently entitled “Pray for us” In that post I showed a picture that my child brought home that was filled with subliminal messages of death. Obviously this was a calculated attack, my child posted this picture in her room after it was posted in her classroom for several weeks. I completely didn’t notice it because I instantly became violently ill when it entered my house, and my daughter’s behavior took a nosedive along with her progress in school. She took on a rebellious attitude and began having fits that seemed demonic in nature. One Sunday afternoon after I forbid her from having a favorite snack and told her to go to her room after she began to pout, she became so enraged and out of control that I literally had to speak to her and command her to calm herself in the name of Jesus. She screamed and shrieked and threw herself about. I did not recognize my own child. I knew immediately that I was not dealing with a child but a spirit and I took authority over it in the name of Jesus. After that incident she went to her room and slept for hours I collapsed in our kitchen and awakened after an unknown amount of time. I called my sister and she came to the house and that is when she looked at the picture on the wall and said that her chest hurt when she gazed at it. My sister counsels wayward children and does art therapy so she immediately read the hidden meaning in the picture and was drawn to the scales on the neck, she snatched the picture from the wall and told me to get into the car with her and to pack my bags. I left my daughter with my parents and my sister told me to stay with her for a few days to pray and bind up the hands of the enemy. I continued to fast, it wasn’t until the second day at my sisters house did she show me the words that were on the neck of the monster. When she pointed them out, I momentarily lost consciousness. I was literally in shock, I could not believe I missed that! However I was thankful that I had been compelled to fast. I finally was able to put 2 and 2 together. I talked to my parents and we immediately had a meeting and renounced the spirit of witchcraft, lesbianism, rebellion, death and any other spirit that had been assigned to that drawing to attack our household and specifically my daughter and I. I then went to my daughter’s school and showed the officials the threatening words hidden in the picture, the school made their own decision on how to approach the child on her threats toward my child. I spoke with my pastor who at present will destroy the original picture when we take it to him. At this point the picture has no power and the demons assigned have no power and their assignment has been placed under the blood of the lamb and canceled. I sent out an all points bulletin to all the readers of Anointedvessel’s weblog to pray on our behalf and the response was overwhelming. For that I am forever grateful and I love you all. What I would like to do now is give you some information on what I have learned about the picture. As some of you noticed there was a very prominent eye in the picture and I wanted to let you know what that represented.

When a witch or a warlock wants to cast a Hex or Spell of the Evil Eye the Demon usually responsible for this is called Malocchio people under the so called spell of Malocchio suffer from the following symptoms : Dizziness, vomiting, and also head and neck pain.

What I found to be unusual is that before I did any research on this … When I called some of my prayer partners to pray about this, several of them complained of dizziness or the room spinning, and several of them had to plead the blood of Jesus. When I took the picture to the school, my neck hurt like I had whip lash. Let me remind you, all of this happened BEFORE I did any research! I do not give the devil any glory or place but this is an example of what happens when you go into warfare spiritually unprepared, I was fasting yes….But I also did not know what I was up against! Read on….

You will also notice in the picture that there are a lot of triangles what does this represent?

“The second most important tool for the Conjuring Magician next to the Magical Circle is the “Triangle of Solomon”, which is used in conjunction with the Magic Circle. It is to sit outside the Magic Circle just a few feet away. It is used in the Conjuring of the Demonic spirits. It is in this Triangle that they will appear and are forced to obey. Why will it make them obey? Because it has (supposed) 3 Sacred names of God one on each side and it has the name MI-CHA-EL which is split into 3 sections . This contains the spirit from escaping and compels them to obey. Some Magicians such as Aleister Crowley would use Fresh Blood of a Sacrificed animal in the Triangle to attract the Demon. Crowley would Sacrifice three white doves and pour the Blood into each corner of the Triangle… the Demon would stay until the life force was exhausted, then Demon would leave. This is not something for you to be going out and trying.

Another thing you saw is that the picture had a distorted side to it but it was also a mirror image… sound familiar? Mirror mirror on the wall? This was the line to a famous fairy tale and also a wicked line that witches use as well, it is an ancient art called scrying read on…

In the ear of the monster picture I saw a pentagram earing, what does that represent?

Satanism

Satanists use a pentagram with two points up, often inscribed in a double circle, with the head of a goat inside the pentagram. This is referred to as the Sigil of Baphomet. They use it much the same way as the Pythagoreans, as Tartaros literally translates from Greek as a “Pit” or “Void” in Christian terminology (the word is used as such in the Bible, referring to the place where the fallen angels are fettered). The Pythagorean Greek letters are most often replaced by the Hebrew letters לויתן forming the name Leviathan. Less esoteric LaVeyan Satanists use it as a sign of rebellion or religious identification, the three downward points symbolising rejection of the holy Trinity.

Last but not least the picture reeks of Lesbianism with the face peaking showing one side and a distortion (bisexuality). The Holy-Spirit revealed this to me…

Lesbianism/Homosexuality/Bisexuality-They hijacked the rainbow for their wicked agenda!!!

By calling homosexuality “Unseemly” the true God of the Bible has already made known His feelings about this grave sin.

By the way I found out the other day, that there is a practicing coven at my daughter’s school involving teachers, students and parents but guess what? I am not worried one bit. I found this information out through discernment after fasting and praying. Also the day I went to talk to a school official about the picture, the moment I walked into the office a woman with a slight build stared at me for about 15 seconds and rubbed the back of her neck like she was stretching or had a cramp and then she kept walking. Only after I did my research did the Holy spirit bring this back to my remembrance. This woman was a practitioner, and I found out when they want to cause pain through Malocchio they look the person in the eye and make a neck motion. For the practitioners of Roots in the South, this is a variation of the famous neck twirl that you see a lot of African American women do when they are fussing with one another. The movement is said to have originated from Africa and was a way for mother’s to summon their children to come to them. However it also has a more sinister meaning for the practitioners of Voodoo, in the Southern areas of America, The evil eye or Malocchio was dispatched in much the same way. When a practitioner of Voodoo would cast a root using Malocchio/evil eye (and they probably didn’t call it that but probably used an Orixa name) they would move their neck with it. Most people knew to roll their eyes instinctively and roll their neck back as a counter against this. Wow and I have been doing that all my life, mainly because I just copied the environmental cues I had grown up around, I saw my cousins get mad at each other and put their hands on their hips and get to twirling that neck and the other would twirl back and roll their eyes up in their head. How could we have known we where copying the movements of Voodoo . Now did this hurt us? Of course not, because we were not practitioners and we were covered under the blood of the lamb, however it is just a scary thought that my neck hurt the entire time I talked to the school official. Once during the meeting, a secretary came in and interrupted the meeting and told me that my daughter (who was staying after school that day) was going to be in a certain part of the building and that I could pick her up in that classroom. Strangely enough the picture was laying on the officials desk and the secretary never looked at me, her eyes (I noticed), were transfixed on that picture. I realized then, that she wanted to know what we were talking about. I discerned fear and hatred at the same time, on her way out the room she had a very hard time looking at me but I made sure to look her straight in the eyes. She gave me the most tortured, forced grin I had ever seen on a human face. Poor thing, what she failed to realize is that know we were simply discussing with the official about the words on the neck of the monster. They stated “death” and then my daughters name. I consider that a death threat, no matter how casual it may seem, it is a threat all the same, and you can never be to careful. This wasn’t a spiritual matter at this point, I was simply a concerned citizen, not only looking out for the welfare of my child but all of the children in the school. A lot of school shootings, start out with veiled and or vague threats in pictures and journals, only to become all too real and way too late. I didn’t want a repeat of that at my daughter’s school so naturally, in spite of the spiritual aspects which I knew the officials wouldn’t understand, I took them the picture simply because of the threatening nature of it. After the meeting I went to the part of the building and the classroom were the nosy secretary said my daughter would be, and the teacher looked at me like I was crazy. I asked her was my daughter supposed to be there and she said “No, your daughter hasn’t been here all afternoon”. I started to almost panic, where was my child?!? I looked for my child for a solid 5 minutes running up hallway after hallway shouting her name. This wasn’t like her, we always agreed, when she stayed after school, she was to always be in a certain place when she was done and i would pick her up there. This was our fail safe plan. After 5 harrowing minutes that seemed more like 45 a school official with a walkie- talkie sent her outside to me, she saw the panic on my face and said “mom whats wrong?”. I said, “PJ I thought you said you were going to be in room *** and she said “mom I didn’t say that” I told that lady I would be sitting in the place where you normally pick me up when I stay after school.” I grabbed my daughter by the arm so fast and dragged her across the parking lot, a casual observer would have thought my daughter was being kidnapped. I was furious with that woman, she deliberately sent me on a wild good chase. So yah, I know the witches knew I was coming they just didn’t expect to see me so soon, I think they were caught off guard, but they are working hard at my daughters school and at other schools and it doesn’t just stop at the schools. The county where we live was also on the news a while back because a practicing Wiccan or good witch (as they say), sued to for the right to lead prayer or invoke the “creator of the universe” (which is NOT the God of Abraham), at the opening of county supervisor meetings. Thankfully the Witches lost their case, even after it went to the Supreme court on appeal. The county supervisor meetings are opened up with a more generalized prayer that does not favor one religion over the other and does not proselytize one bit. No weapon formed against us will prosper, I see the weapons they formed but they did not and WILL NOT prosper! Praise be the risen savior Jesus. The devil and his servant will always lose!!! I cheated I looked in the back of the Bible and I saw, satan little (s) loses BIG TIME!! The book of Revelations is so Sweeeeet!!!!!

I suggest you get Elder G. Craig Lewis’ DVD Devil Proofing Your Teen I did, and my daughter and I watched it again today!

This photo is the first from another series-in-progress. In this image, I wanted to evoke the mood of the classic ‘fortune teller’ archetype. I’m happy with the way the light turned out in this particular frame, as well as the body language of the fortune teller. I toned this one to give it an antique/vintage feel. There are several others in the series that I want to tone to look a bit more like paintings.

I didn’t realize this until after the session, but this image is another example of my self-portraits being self and other at the same time. I’ve spent many years as a clairvoyant, because I do have freakishly high intuitive abilities for some reason. I stopped doing readings when the demand for readings outweighed my ability to comfortably handle them all (doing them always made me unbearably tired…and sometimes physically ill). I also stopped because I didn’t like the ‘psychic’ label, because it is so often associated with kookiness and fraud, and with good reason (one “psychic fair” was enough for me) . But, now I’m prone to going off on a tangent…

While I have stopped doing readings, I am inevitably still ‘the psychic’, and continually get asked for glimpses into peoples dilemmas. So, this image is personal in a sense, because I have played this character before and it has become a part of me.

The other thing that I wanted to write about is that I am steering this blog in a slightly new direction. I’ve been churning out new art like crazy lately, and I’ve realized that it would be good for me to stop and write about it, the inspirations behind it, and what if anything I have learned through each piece. I haven’t been writing as much as I would like to lately, and I think that this will be a good impetus to write more, not to mention stop and reflect more at the intersection between art and life.

There are several artists whose blogs I follow on a regular basis, and I really enjoy reading about the inspirations that led up to the finished work. Being a fan of the written word as well, the ’story’ aspect is something that really appeals to me. So, I am steering this a little bit more in the direction of an art blog/diary. I think it adds a nice element to the art, and I hope that people who like my art think so too. I hope to write a little something about each new image or series as they are completed (which means I will probably make waaaay more posts than I have been).
