White River’s Bella has two  kits in the box.  One is a dark tort.  The other has been intriguing me for 12 days now.  I bred Bella to thf Saynora’s Zorion – also a tort – so hard can it be?!  Tort + Tort = Tort.  Right?  Oh, the fun of the color gene.

So, two torts can only equal aa __ __ __ ee.  The kit is not chocolate and definitely is not dilute.  So, we can fill in the B and D genes now:   aa B_ __ D_ ee.  That only leaves the color gene to ponder.

Zorion DOES carry shaded.   Bella had a Sable Point in her last litter, so I know she has to carry shaded or REW.   This little stinker is not a Sable Point (they are much lighter), so that leads me to believe that he is a Seal Point – aaB_c(chl)c(chl)D_ee.     A non-showable color, but interesting at the least.  I’m anxious to watch him/her grow up so I can see how the color changes.

Very dark, similar to a Siamese Sable.

I can't see where I'm going, but I'm going there fast!

He is not light over the back like a tort would be.

Alors celle-là, il fallait la prendre vite, avant que les oreilles commencent à bouger, les museaux à pointer, les yeux à me fixer.

La triade siamoise, par ordre d’apparition :

A la fois, j’aimerais toujours les voir ainsi, à la fois, je les aime plein de vie, se chamaillant, dormant dans les quatre coins de l’appartement ou s’attendant à chaque angle pour faussement se bondir l’un sur l’autre.

Et puis enfin, imaginez moi dessous et vous aurez à peu près l’état de situation des nuits que nous passons tous les 3, 4, 5 ensemble dans un lit d’un mètre soixante de large ;o).

I just didn’t have the energy to get up for the recovery ride after Tour de Montañas, so I voted to sleep in a bit and then hit the trail near my house for a quick loop. Sometime around 10am I actually managed to roll out of bed to try and get the deed done. Per usual routine, I invited the other half to ride as I suited up… and nearly fell over from shock when he agreed to accompany me! We checked his not-ridden-in-a-year tubes, replaced one, and then headed out to the Foster City trail.

There’s actually not a ton to say about the ride. I rolled without Garmin, so I don’t have any data and the +/-1 ft elevation gain doesn’t give a ton of challenge to walkthrough. The most interesting part of the whole event was really riding it with someone else, especially as that someone else was Charles – who I’ve been trying to get back into cycling on and off for two years! Riding is just more fun with other people (well, with cool other people anyway), and that’s doubly true on routes that suck. There’s nothing like chatting/singing/making fun of people to keep your mind off of terrible roads!

Anyway, we rode a 10 mile loop out to Seal Point dog park, back down passed our house, over to Chipotle for lunch and then home again. The trip was enjoyable despite the still-present evil headwinds, although I think we both learned a good “only after rides” lesson for the best burrito intake process. We did make it home (with food still in its proper location), and I think Charles enjoyed the run much more than the fail Los Gatos trail miles we used to ride in San Jose. In fact he ended up doing a couple solo rides on his own over the next week! Perhaps I’ll have a new ride partner sometime soon after all (…at least for the short rides!  …for now!).

This is my little, Ferdy’s friend of 13 years.  I bought them together, remember them being little balls of fluff and sharing the little cats basket.  At present she is snuggled in my arms while I type with one hand, she obviously is not liking being on her own and constantly meows all the time.  As soon as I pick her up she stops.  I feel so sad for her.

Comme la photo (Guilherme Young) le montre, celui-ci tient dans ses bras un splendide siamois seal-point à poils longs.

Leur profil est vraiment à craquer, avec ce joli petit bout de nez et ce dessin toujours identique. Cela me rappelle notre Minette qui a sensiblement le même…

C’est d’une réalité bluffante je trouve !

Un certain Kris nous offre un album photo purement et simplement superbe sur Flickr. Kris semble être un photographe estonien (amateur ou professionnel ?) qui se plaît à tirer le portrait de Sissy, sa chatte siamoise.

Il lui a même consacré une cyber-galerie sur son site web. Encore une petite merveille ultra-chérie… et tellement jolie.

Voici une sympathique photographie d’un vendeur venu d’eBay dénommé Cwkrides qui a eu “l’idée un peu folle” de mettre en vente (au prix dérisoire de USD 0,75) ses clichés artistiques pour (peut-être la reconnaissance et la recherche de renommée et surtout) pour que ces derniers illustrent les fonds de nos écrans.

A sa place, j’irai plus loin, en proposant des résolutions suffisantes pour tirage photo, car j’imagine fort bien celle proposée présentement dans mon salon et dans un joli cadre…

Avec tout ça, si ça continue, moi aussi je vais mettre les miens

Heute ist es soweit: Der Nachwuchs kommt gegen 19 Uhr! Ich bin schon ganz aufgeregt und nervös…

Hintergrund: Meine Lebensgefährtin und ich haben uns vor wenigen Wochen zwei zuckersüße jetzt 13 Wochen alte “Heilige Birma”-Kätzchen gekauft, die heute von ihren Züchtern gebracht werden. Ich habe noch nie mit Katzen zusammengelebt und weiss noch nicht so recht, was mich da erwartet.Die Theorie habe ich drauf, die Praxis ist mir aber gänzlich unbekannt. Glücklicherweise ist “Frau Enno” eine erfahrene Katzenliebhaberin.

Ich werde mit Sicherheit in den folgenden Tagen über die neuesten Entwicklungen berichten. Die beiden Kleinen heißen im übrigen Chester und Carlos. Carlos ist ein Seal-Point und Chester ein Chocolate-Point. Ihr könnt gerne die Homepage der äußerst sympathisch-netten Züchter besuchen. Dort seht ihr unsere beiden Racker. Camillo ist auch ein sehr , sehr hübsches und schönes Tier mit einem ausgeglichen Charakter. Wir haben uns für das Duo Chester/Carlos entschieden, da Carlos eher der freche Einzelgänger ist und Chester das Gegenteil: der verschmuste Ruhepol. Wer also noch eine Birma sucht: Camillo ist ein ganz niedlicher. So weit ich weiß, ist er derzeit auch noch abzugeben.
