This gentleman is an ARTISTIC GENIUS!!!!  And he shows his fans, yet again, why we continue to ‘eagerly await to see his next creation’ while consistently wanting for more ‘Head… (Pause…WAIT!…Yea… You know what I mean…Head as is Sean BankHEAD)

You may recognize my next celebrity feature from the 2009 hit show “Daddy’s Girls” starring Angela and Vanessa Simmons, the aires’s of Hip Hop. Alycia also is the voice behind the amazing single “GREEDY” That is a YOUTUBE/DANCE HIT!! I finally got to sit down with this beautiful young lady and pick her brain and see how she is doing, and now you do to. ENJOY!

Jeremy Copeland: Lyssi love it feels amazing to finally sit down and talk with you, we have been anticipating this interview for a few months now and we are finally here. How are you?

LYSSI: You know what Jeremy; I am great and could not be better. I just got back from lunch at this amazing place by my house and walked my dog. So I am stuffed and feeling great, It is a beautiful day outside here in Los Angeles so no complaints (Laughs)

Jeremy Copeland: So I mean Its 2011, we are about 4 months in, What were your plans walking into this new year and what are your current goals now while we are here in the new year?

Lyssi: You know what I walked into this new year focused my craft more and focusing on direct sound for my album because I find that its all over the place sometimes and I need to get all of my personalities into one perspective.

Jeremy Copeland: Talking about music, people best identify you as the voice behind the dance crazed single “Greedy”. This song was first exposed by Choreographer: Sean Bankhead and from that it blew up all over the world and you have some of the TOP Choreographers throwing their 8 counts to this song, was it what you expected was going to happen? How does that feel?

Lyssi: Honestly, I went in the studio that day and I said I want to make a song for dancers, I did not know how that song was going to get it out or how people were going to hear it, my only outlet was Twitter and Face-book but it got out and when I tell you Jeremy, I was not ready for the response it got. People really loved it and I got so many great comments about the song I just felt amazing. As far as the choreographers that blasted it all over You-tube I really want to tell all of them thank you! SEAN BANKHEAD, LUAM, DEJAN TUBIC, KARON LYNN AND YOURSELF. You guys REALLY made this a dream come true for me and pushed it to a level I was not ready for!!!! Actually in one of my meetings I showed some people the one you had posted on your blog. It meant a lot.

Jeremy Copeland: Ok so what is next is the musical over of yours that will be coming out soon?

LYSSI: The next thing you can look forward to is very different. I am going to bring a different persective to music. My next for releases will still be for the dancers, just a little more honest, real and true club bangers.

Jeremy Copeland: So who has influenced you musically? Who do you look up to as an artist in this industry?

LYSSI: Aaliyah, I think that she amazing and she sung about such honest things, she was classic, honest and relatable, and when your honest it’s a hit. And currently I think drake brought that back and who’s his favorite? Aaliyah! LOL.

Jeremy Copeland: So would you consider yourself as a LA Socialite?

LYSSI: I fucking hate the work socialite, I became popular by default, I don’t hold that word on a pedestal, I guess I am popular because I am friends with rev runs daughters Angela and Vanessa Simmons, Chris Brown and etc its only because I am in the business and these are my real friends, if I could go back and change I would. I love my friends dearly and I do not regret knowing them, that’s not the issue, I just want people to know me through my music and talents.

Jeremy Copeland: So what makes an amazing artist?

LYSSI: TALENT.

Jeremy Copeland: HOW IS THE PERSONAL LIFE WORKING OUT FOR YOU AS FAR AS RELATIONSHIPS AND DATING?

LYSSI: Dating wise, no one will know who I am dating unless you are in my immediate circle. Just like you seen on daddy’s girls we named him skinny jeans because I want to keep that part of my life private. As far as friends go, its hard especially in Los Angeles because people there are a lot of fame-seekers and people with alternative motives but I am a big girl and smart enough to weed those people out but some make it in.

Jeremy Copeland: What is your favorite city?

LYSSI: Miami hands down.

Jeremy Copeland: Being in this industry and being a woman in this industry must be hard because so may people want you to compromise your morals and do things that is out of your character for gigs and jobs etc, how do you keep your morals and stay relevant?

LYSSI: Honestly it’s a choice that a lot of people do not make, I’d say ………….. I’m thinking, from my point of view, I had a deal situation that didn’t work out because of morals, I am not a saint or anything like that, but I am not going to fuck for tracks point blank.

Jeremy Copeland: Have you ever considered moving to Atlanta to pursue music?

LYSSI: I was going to do that but all my connections are in LA. My crew is here, it works better, plus my family is here.

Jeremy Copeland: Who are some of your favorite designers?

LYSSI: I love local LA designers; boutiques downtown, Jeremy Scott and I love vintage clothing.

Jeremy Copeland: What are your goals for 2012?

Just signed my deal to indie pop they have distribution through universal republic, I have never had a deal because I feel the industry did not take me seriously at first but for once in my life I an certain I will put out a project out I believe in.

As most of you can see by now, I’m addicted to HAWT ish, especially when they are on Youtube. I am most highly addicted to artistically dope people who can do something that I cannot. Though I know how to shake it in my own right, I really want to introduce you to some D O P E choreographers. Oh, and if you didn’t know about these peeps, thank me later.

Dejan Tubic and Janelle Ginestra are clearly powerhouses. Hard-hitting yet funky, fun moves that will leave any crowd entertained. I swear I watched like all their videos because they are so creative and you can tell that it comes so naturally and effortlessly to them.  I especially like how they display other dancers they work with. They have some pretty good kids that get DOWN with them. Check them out HERE.

Though this video may not be the best video of Luam, it is my favorite because it shows her true passion. To really go after your dreams, when everyone is telling you it’s silly, is HARD. It takes that passion and resilience to never give up! That’s why I have the utmost respect for Luam as a choreographer, but also be she is sooo smooth! In all her videos, you can see the smoothness and the crispness of her moves. Plus she has BIG hair and I was having a little hair envy! haha. Check her out HERE.

I think Mr. Sean Bankhead reminds me most that dance can tell a story and be used as a movie without words. He also reminds me that dance is so closely connected to fashion. Dancers, well most dancers, are some of the best dressed people I’ve ever saw. I think I feel this way mostly because I love the contrast of hard and soft or the idea of a loose, baggy shirt paired with something tight on the bottom or vice verse.  You can check him out HERE.
