Oh my. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a new blog. So much to write about! So much to say! So much has happened!

Tim’s back: One month later a slimmed down, beardless Tim is finally back from a Hawaii hiatus. He’s been on a bit of a soul-searching adventure. Certain members of Blvd Park were concerned he wanted to leave our little family but a few harsh words, and a long and painful day of cold silence followed by a heartfelt rehearsal with the entire band and a deep one-on-one heart-to-heart proves contrary. Tim’s in it to win it. We have our Tim back. :) IT’S ON NOW BITCHES!

<— Doyle’s Public House in Tacoma on St. Patrick’s Day

New open mic: Brian and I enjoyed our time at the Skylark but came to a mutual decision with the proprietors there to end our gig and move on….and move along we have! Brian and I are hosting a new open mic at the Bourbon Bar/Columbia City Theater. Tonight marks our second (weekly) anniversary. Last week presented a surprisingly solid turn-out with good friends dating back from our first open mic at A Terrible Beauty, to new ones who followed us from the Skylark, to a sprinkling of new friends we’ve made in the Seattle music community these past several months. Looking forward to tonight where fellow Blvd Parkians Timmy Conroy and Dune Butler are set to make an appearance! (Sign ups at 7:30. Starts at 8pm and goes as long as there are folks to play! All genres and forms of artistic expression welcome: spoken word, comedy, monologues, poetry etc. Sorry but it’s 21+)

<— Seattle newbies Catherine Joy and Rocketcar – love them!

We gave up our beloved tour van: Yes. After almost three years of truckin around CA, WA and the greater United States, sadly we had to make the decision to let our van go. (God I feel like I’m talking about putting down my cat or something!) Ug. It was a tough decision but one that had to be made. So for now we are reliant on our crappy beater cars to get us to gigs, meaning we’ll probably be sticking to the greater Seattle area for the time being. HOWEVER! Plans are in the works to requisition a new, shall I say better??, vehicle to tour and gig with…. aka possible house concert/party event in the near future? Shit, the sun is peeping out of those blustery Seattle clouds right now. I’m thinkin’ barbeque. Music. Keg(s). SOON!

We’ll also be in Portland: at the Secret Society Ballroom with the same line up as above Thursday, March 29th. Tickets can be purchased in advance here: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/229515

Oliver is alive!!! After my indoor-outdoor adorable, sweet, cuddly, playful orange tabby Oliver Blue went missing for over two weeks, I’d resigned myself to the fact that some wild animal got to him. Much to my surprise while walking with Brian and Knucklehead one night, we discovered little Ollie high up a tree just down the street from our house! His bones were sticking out but was otherwise in great shape and 100% happy to see us. I sincerely doubt he was up the tree the entire time as both Brian and I had gone calling for him in that exact area several times in the preceding weeks. Must have been some adventure Ollie!

Other great news: we’ll be playing this year’s Noise for the Needy festival, an annual week long, city-wide event raising money for various charities and causes. Venue unknown at this point but we’ll keep ya posted. And! We’re on Folklife this year!!!! We met so many great people during last year’s four day busking marathon and are ecstatic to be “official” Folklifers this year. We’re still planning on busking so keep an eye out for us throughout the weekend. ;)

Also: The turn-out for the album release show at the Tractor February 9th was better than we could have hoped. Creeping Time and Nettle Honey brought it. Folks were entertained and happy. Lots and lots of cd’s were sold. All is good. :)

And one more thing: a slew of new songs are in the works. :)

That’s it for now you crazy crazy kids! And remember, Blvd Park loves you!

Tekla Jasmine Waterfield – Blvd Park sister

p.s. Dune Butler (playing a new weekly gig in West Seattle at the Tuscan Tea room), Banton Foster (bought a new old classic volvo), Jarrett Mason (busy as ever with multiple bands and full-time mortgage/real estate job) and Brian Ballentine (trying out a kettlecorn business venture) are all alive and well in case you were wondering. Seems I should point that out since I didn’t mention them specifically. And as for me, I’m doing well just working away at my many various projects – writing the book, getting better at the guitar, blah blah blah.

p.p.s. DUNE “eclectic musical prodigy” GOT A WRITE UP! Check it out: http://sammamishreview.com/2012/03/06/dune-butler-sammamishs-eclectic-musical-prodigy
