Pare, Malas yun!

Yan ang madalas kong maramig sa mga kaibigan ko kapag napaguusapan ang pakikipag-moments sa kotse. Malas daw yun. Kung bakit, hindi ko rin alam. Basta ang alam ko, ako ang living proof na hindi malas ang paggawa ng deed sa kotse. Hehe.

Noong natuto akong magmaneho at nagkaroon ng mamanehuhin, hindi na ako napapirmi sa bahay. Lahat na yata ng pwedeng puntahan ay pinuntahan ko. Syempre, lahat ng pwedeng ka-SEB e in-SEB ko na rin. Aba, hindi lang pala babe magnet ang auto, pati na rin sa mga hunk at pa-hunk.

May nakilala ako dati sa isang chat tv (sus, saan pa nga ba?), si Mark*. Thirty-one na si Mark (twenty-two naman ako nung time na yun) at taga-Las Pinas. Tamad mag-text si Mark kaya mas madalas, sa telepono kami magkausap. Medyo malamya ang boses ni Mark sa phone pero dahil sa hindi naman ako choosy, mapanghusga, alam naman niya ang GMRC 101 at masarap siyang kausap (hindi ko maalala kung nag-SOP kami pero parang hindi) kaya ayos lang.

Halos magiisang linggo na rin na ganito ang set-up namin hanggang sa nagdecide kami na magkita. Ako ang pinapili n’ya ng lugar kaya ang pinili ko yung medyo malapit sa akin, sa Glorietta.

As usual, dahil si Mr. Punctuality ako, maaga akong dumating. Nagpaikot-ikot muna ako sa Time Zone pero syempre, mabagal lang ang paglakad ko baka kasi pawisan ako. Dapat fresh at amoy pinipig kapag nagkita kami ni Mark. After fifteen minutes, dumating na rin siya.

Moreno si Mark, halos magkasing tangkad kami (5′9″), pinoy na pinoy ang hitsura at medyo payat. Hindi naman siya malamya kumilos pero kapag nagsalita, malalaman mo agad na PLU siya.

Nanood kami ng sine, sa pagkakatanda ko “Flightplan” ang pinanood namin. Dahil sa hindi naman ako mapagsamantalang tao, behave ako sa loob ng sinehan pero hindi ko rin naman sinabi na hindi ako mang-cha-chansing kahit konti. Konting dikit ng tuhod ko sa tuhod n’ya. Konting dikit ng kamay ko sa kamay n’ya. You know… Haha. Parang nabagalan yata sa diskarte ko si Mark at siya na mismo ang kumuha ng kamay ko para magholding hands kami habang nanonood ng sine (sweetness) tigas titi. Isinandal n’ya rin ang kanyang ulo sa aking balikat at kapag may nakakakabang eksena, sinisiksik n’ya ang mukha n’ya sa dibdib ko (double sweetness) double tigas titi.

After ng sine, niyaya ko s’ya na mag-dinner sa may The Fort at pumayag naman siya. Dinala ko s’ya sa paborito kong resto. Medyo matagal din kaming kumain dahil napasarap ang kwentuhan. After namin mag-dinner, nagyaya siya na magikot-ikot. Magaalas-onse na ng gabi nung nagyaya siya na kung pwede raw muna siyang makipahinga sa auto ko.

Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting! Galit Junjun!

Sa parking sa labas ng Fort Strip ko pinarada ang auto ko malapit sa may poste ng ilaw pangatlong hilera mula doon sa may entrance kung saan naka-pwesto yung gwardyang busy sa pakikinig ng music.

Sabay kaming pumasok sa kotse ko, binaba namin ng bahagya ang bintana para di ‘to magpawis. Kapag nagkataon kasi, agaw eksena yun sa nagbabantay. Hinawakan n’ya agad ang kamay ko. Nagpatugtog ako ng radyo at nagkwentuhan kami habang magkahawak ang kamay. Di nagtagal, lumapit siya sa akin at hinalikan niya ako sa labi.

Ang sarap! Ang lambot ng labi n’ya at swabeng-swabe siya humalik. Nilabas ko ang dila ko at sinipsip n’ya yun ng marahan. Napansin ko rin na kinakagat n’ya ng dahan-dahan ang ibabang labi ko. Halos maubusan ako ng hininga sa ginagawa n’ya. Medyo hindi kumportable ang posisyon namin dahil sagabal yung kambyo ng sasakyan kaya lumipat kami sa likod.

Paglipat namin, kumandong siya agad sa akin paharap. Nag-kiss ulit kami. Ang sarap n’ya talaga humalik. Pinasok ko ang kamay ko sa loob ng t-shirt n’ya at kinapa at nilaro ang utong n’ya. Napaliyad at napaugol s’ya tanda na nagugustuhan n’ya ang ginagawa ko. bilang ganti, hinalikan niya ako sa leeg papunta sa aking tenga sabay bulong ng, “ang bango mo”. Halos mabaliw ako at mabutas ang pundilyo ng pantalon ko sa ginagawa namin. Binuksan niya ang pantalon n’ya at ibinaba ito kasama ng kanyang brief. Hinalikan n’ya ako ulit at naramdaman kong kinakapa niya ang butones ng pantalon ko, nung mabuksyan n’ya yun, dali-dali n’yang pinasok ang kanyang kamay sa loob ng boxer shorts ko at nakipag-shake hands kay Junjun. Tsaka ko na-realize na delikado ang ginagawa namin, tumingin ako sa likod para makita kung ano ang ginagawa nung gwardya. Nahalata n’ya siguro na kinakabahan ako. Tumawa s’ya. Dahil sa posisyon namin, sinabi niya na nakikita n’ya yung gwardya o kung may paparating kaya ‘wag daw akong magalala.

Binaba nya ang aking pantalon kasama ang aking boxers. Kasabay ng pagbaba noon ang kanyang ulo. Isinandal ko na lang ang aking ulo sa upuan at napapikit sa init at sarap ng kanyang bibig na nakabalot kay Junjun.

Mayamaya, naramdaman ko na lang na nilagyan na niya ng kapote si Junjun (aba, boyscout pala itong si Mark), nilawayan ng todo at saka ulit kumandong sa akin at pinusisyon ang sarili n’ya. Doble pa sa init ng bibig n’ya ang ang naramdaman ko at halos triple ng sikip and yumakap sa kabuuan ng aking alaga. Marahan lang ang pagtaas baba n’ya habang nakahawak sa dalawang sandalan ng upuan sa harap para hindi makaagaw ng pansin at para hindi rin masyadong maalog ang kotse.

Sobrang init sa loob ng sasakyan at nagsisimula nang magpawis ang mga bintana kaya binaba ko pa ng konti ang bintana may kanan sa likod. Kung may nangboboso, malamang nabosohan na kami sa ginagawa namin. Pero masyado nang mainit ang mga pangyayari kaya nawala na rin yun sa isip ko.

Ilang taas baba pa ay biglang yumakap sa akin si Mark. Hinalikan niya ulit ako sa leeg at bumulong ng “ayan na ako”. May naramdaman ako mainit na likido sa aking tiyan. Ilang minuto pa ay napahawak ako sa kaliwang bintana (yung mala-Titanic) at pinakawalan ang init ng loob ko. Kapwa kami naghahabol ng hininga. Umupo siya ng maayos at kinuha ang kanyang panyo. Pinunasan niya ang tamod n’ya na tumalsik sa aking tiyan. Tinanggal din niya ang kapoteng sinuot niya kay Junjun at pinunasan ito ng kanyang hawak na panyo. Souvenir daw.

Nagayos na kami ng aming sarili. Lumabas kami ng sasakyan at nag-yosi sandali at nagkwentuhan. In-offer ko na ihahatid ko na siya pero tumanggi siya at ibaba ko na lang daw siya sa may sakayan. Nung papalabas na kami ng parking lot, tulog si Manong Guard at kailangan ko pang katukin yung salamin para magising siya. Habang nagbabayad ako ng parking fee, nagkatinginan kami ni Mark at nangiti.

Thursday, Yazee starts the weekend early and hosts none other than Jazzsteppa representing the mighty Hotflush label, for a live performance in Goblin Club (30, Smardan Str. – near the old city center). Tomasan will be the one warming up for the headliners with what seems to be a fresh-as-fuck set – trust! and after the headliners you’ll find me spinning probably most of the good sorts of Bristol Sounds, Dubstep, Garage and UK Funky.

Friday show some support for one of the big guns in Dubstep - Joker alongside MC Nomad, Borgore, Silent Strike and his special guests at Palatul Universul (23, Brezoianu Str.) at a Dropdread event. Also, if you’re not that into agressive beats and filthy basslines see you just across the street down in Other Side (4, Brezoianu Str.) for some serious House, Techno, 4/4 business alongside TRG, Seb and the loveboys of Tg. Mures Addo & Dan Bazix (long time no see mates!).

And save some energy after these two nights because Club Action! is set to bring Club Fabrica down in pieces, because from all the Trouble & Bass and Mishka rosters they invited just the craziest fuckers they could find: Tomb Crew. Before them in (more or less) order: Unlocka with his glitchstep sounds, Meeloox with filthy bleeps and tweaks and Gojira with his trademark bangers. After them you’ll find me again, spinning probably a more House, 4/4 and Bassline oriented set.

Needless to say more, see you in the club, and take Monday off work, college or whatever else you’re planning to do, cause after these three nights Sunday won’t be enough for rehab time.

God, I have so much to cover in this chapter.  LOTS has happened.  When I say ‘lots’, I mean a crapload of birthdays.  Sims get so boring when they start reproducing.  All Kingston ever does now is roll the want to have a child.  What a jerk.

This is toddler!Anna Blake.  She’s an Excitable Virtuoso, and she loves Irish Green, Latin music, and sushi.  Pretty advanced tastes for a four year old.

With her only child now a toddler, and Kingston creaming himself over the idea of having a boy, Paige finds herself once again ‘suspiciously nauseous’.

With Paige permanently on maternity leave, Kingston has become the sole breadwinner in their family – unless you count the paid time off Paige gets.

Perhaps realizing that her son is consistently rolling wants to punch her in the face, Megan makes it a mission to befriend him, and starts to help him with homework.  Liam remains a cutey.

With Julian happily married to his sister-in-law Penny, and living in her one-bedroom with her brother Wesley, Megan feels it’s safe to let Seb take a father role in Liam’s life.

Naturally, this creates the need for her to explain how Seb’s choice of career (I think he’s currently an Accomplice) is a bad thing, and her career (currently Lieutenant) is an awesome thing.

As it turns out, Paige was carrying twins!  Twin girls to be exact.  And I don’t appear to have any pictures of them as babies.  That’s okay, because all babies look exactly the same.  They’ll be toddlers in a couple of pictures anyway, so I’ll save the summaries for then.

This is child!Anna.  She aged with Brave locked in.  She looks like a bitch, doesn’t she?  Guh, she’s going to give them trouble.

This is teenage Liam.  I guess it’s pretty obvious now who his father is.  Let me just show you a picture of Seb in case you forgot what he looks like.

After he ages up, Megan takes that as pretty solid evidence that Sebastian is Liam’s father.  The three of them move out together, without having anywhere to live.  Later, I got the notification that they’d moved in with Megan’s elderly uncle Ben and his family of six.  They live in a one bedroom, for the record.

These two lovely young ladies are Danielle (top) and Sherry (bottom).  Danielle likes grey, indie music, and pancakes, and she’s brave and neurotic.  Sherry likes the colour lime, Latin music, and French toast.  She was born with Loner locked in, and I rolled clumsy for her.  My bad.

Poor Kingston still wants a boy.  =(

Oh, this is so exciting!  Lilian and Dick have moved back to town, with twin girls, who are only a couple of days younger than Paige and Kingston’s girls.  Yaaaaay.

Oh, lookit that.  Paige is back into her second trimester dress.  I guess Kingston got sick of being surrounded by estrogen and decided to try for a boy again.

Meanwhile, Wesley Porter has become an elder, and remains a bachelor while living with his sister and brother-in-law.  I took the liberty of using their copious amounts of money (must be the result of Wesley’s frugal trait) to expand their house.

Wesley adopted a baby boy and named him Dorian.  Aww.

OSHT.  Is that a blue blanket?  Hooraaaaay.  \o/

I don’t have a picture of it, but it was actually two blue blankets.  Paige birthed their second set of twins, both boys, named Reede and Levi.

Simultaneously, Anna has a birthday!

Teen!Anna looks even more like a bitch.  She’s gonna be a total maneater, I’m sure.  She also gained the Kleptomaniac trait.  I’ve always wanted one of those – I’m looking forward to the presents it gets me.

Three days later, it’s birthday time again.  If I actually had parties for these sorts of things, I’d be exhausted.

Sherry has gained the Unlucky trait.  Oops.  Sorry about that.

Danielle now loves the outdoors.

Reede is blonde, like Mommy and Sherry!

Levi is brunette, like Daddy, Anna, and Danielle.

OKAY.  Now that all that’s out of the way, let’s hope something interesting happens next chapter.  Maybe we’ll figure out an heir?  I don’t have a favourite yet.  I do like Anna, but I also like little blonde Reede.  Look at his eyes!  AW.

Idag firar Entreprenörsdagen i Göteborg 15 år. I samband med det delas utmärkelsen Årets entreprenör ut. Självklart är dagen och utmärkelsen till för att uppmuntra till fler företagare. Och det är viktigt. Det är bland våra små och medelstora företag som många framtida jobb kommer att skapas. Ulricehamn har en uppsjö småföretag. Endast 7 procent av våra 2 500 företag har fler än 10 anställda. Här hittar du några.

Nyligen träffade jag delar av styrelsen i Företagarna i Ulricehamn och hade en intressant diskussion om näringslivsklimatet i Ulricehamn.

Jag är helt övertygad om att det går att kombinera ett bra företagsklimat med rimliga arbetsvillkor för anställda. Något som bekräftas i den undersökning som SEB:s företagarpanel nyligen presenterade.

Socialdemokraterna lade fram en rad offensiva förslag i sin höstbudget för någon vecka sedan. Här har jag sammanfattat en del av förslagen.

Under jobbkongressen i Stockholm i slutet av oktober diskuterades småföretagens villkor flitigt. Bland annat fick LO:s tidigare ordförande Stig Malm igenom ett intressant förslag.

Q. How do you approach a weekend on a new track?

Sebastian Vettel: Pretty much like every weekend. Obviously the team and myself try to prepare. It’s clearly a bit different because it’s a new circuit, so what do we do? We try to collect as much data and information as we can. The GP2 cars tested here last weekend and I’ve done some laps on the simulator too. Other than that we come here, do the usual track walk and get some information about the circuit. It looks quite interesting, quite challenging. I would say it’s a mix of Singapore and Bahrain. Singapore because there are some quite slow corners, some left-right combinations, kind of Mickey Mouse. It’s kind of smooth, so not bumpy at all. It’s very smooth and has some long straights – one straight that’s even longer than at Shanghai. We will see. It should be good for us. The car was competitive in the last few races, no matter where we were.

Q. Is the sun setting a concern?

SV: Now I don’t know, but tomorrow we will have the practice in changing conditions with the sunlight and it depends on the circuit layout and the combination of where the sun goes down. To get a real idea you can only tell by sitting in the car and watching where the sun goes down. We will see, but if the sun is very low, and depending on the corners, it could be quite critical.

Q. What kind of visor did you use in Australia?

SV: A dark visor, because we started in the daytime and it was quite sunny. It was close to sunset when we finished. It was starting to get dark and the sun was very low at the end of the race. For here it will be something like medium because it will be dark for the last part of the race and bright to start off with. Actually it’s a good question.

Q. Does the disappointment of Brazil ease a little after two weeks?

SV: It’s normal to be disappointed. For sure it took some time, so it was a big disappointment. But in the end you have to see the positives and I think it was a very good season for us. A lot of things happened, we learned a lot of things, lessons… all in all there are a lot of things we can do better next year, but for now the focus has to be on securing second place in the drivers’ championship and having a very good race on Sunday.

Q. So you’re happy to finish second in the championship now then? In Brazil you said it didn’t matter.

SV: Sometimes you get out of the car and say things. You don’t have a lot of time to think about it. Generally I’m not here to finish second or third. This hasn’t changed, but for now third is worse than second, so I want to win the vice title or be second in the championship.

Q. If someone had told you at the start of the season that you’d finish second in the championship, how would you have reacted?

SV: These questions always appear at the last few races, either positive or negative. This year was special because the rules changed so much that we didn’t know what to expect. In the first test already we had a good feeling with the car. We were very happy, but we didn’t know until Australia how competitive we were. It was very important to be competitive from the beginning right to the end. On top of that, this year was very up and down anyway for the different teams at the top. That was very important. If anyone had have told me, I’d probably have said ‘If I have a car that’s good enough to finish second, then why can’t I be first?’

Q. Is Australia the big regret for the points that you gave away?

SV: No. Obviously there is one more race to go, but looking back, I don’t think there’s only one race where things went wrong. It’s no secret in the end that the guy who wins the championship is the guy who scores the most points. You don’t score points for first only, but also for second and third and down to eighth. Sometimes you may find yourself in a situation where you’re not strong enough to win, but still it matters to bring the car home third, fourth, fifth and collect points. I think that at every race this year we were strong enough to finish in the top five – which no-one else was – except maybe Monza. Sometimes you may call it bad luck, but at other times we made mistakes with the strategy. Other times it was a mistake from myself. All in all, we had five races where we didn’t finish and didn’t score points. Australia was only one of those and it was a racing incident. You are going to have those kinds of situation when you are racing; I’m not on the circuit to wave people past as soon as they appear in my mirrors. I would say that these kinds of things just happen. But there were too many other things happening as well, and these things cost us important points.

Q. Have things you’ve done this year been the cause of that? For example, strategic decisions that were too aggressive because you wanted to win races and didn’t think you’d be competing for the championship?

SV: Yeah. In the end, we are a team and we have done decisions that at the time you feel is best. After the race you learn whether you have made a good decision or not. Sometimes our decisions were not the smartest and for sure it’s something we can improve on for next year. Obviously we were a little bit handicapped by the engines, but also everyone was expecting us to change at least one more engine before the last race, and here we are and we haven’t had to do that. Thanks to Renault we made it. It’s pretty simple in the end. Looking back we can see that there are things we perhaps could have done better, but the important thing is that we learn from those decisions and don’t make those mistakes again.

Q. How do you compare these modern circuits to the older tracks like Spa and Suzuka? Which do you prefer?

SV: Well I haven’t driven this circuit yet, so I don’t know. As far as new circuits go, one thing missing is the history. When you go to Spa or Monza and you walk the track, you know that 10, 20, 30 years ago, Formula 1 was taking place and you can feel it. It’s something special. Some of the corners are legendary… Eau Rouge, Parabolica etc. This is something new circuits cannot deliver yet because they are too new. But sometimes, obviously, circuits like here or Bahrain, all the new types of circuits, have much improved safety, but sometimes it’s difficult to give the circuit character, because they look the same. Inside the car, each circuit feels individual, but it looks all the same. There’s lots of runoff everywhere so maybe sometimes you don’t pay enough for your mistakes.

Endast 3 procent av företag med upp till nio anställda anser att de tvingats göra sig av med nödvändig kompetens på grund av turordningsreglerna i lagen om anställningsskydd, Las. Det visar en undersökning från SEB:s Företagarpanel.

Ett argument mot Las är att framför allt småföretag får problem vid neddragningar, eftersom de inte kan behålla personal som behövs för att utveckla företagen vidare. Centern – och då bland annat Ulricehamns kommunalråd Roland Karlsson – driver en mycket hård linje vad det gäller anställningsskyddet.

Men precis som Handels ombudsmän Stina Josefsson och Tony Karlstedt mycket riktigt påpekar är Centerns linje en skrivbordsprodukt som saknar förankring i verkligheten.

SEB:s företagarpanel, där 1 400 företagare svarat på frågor, upplever alltså inte Las som ett hinder.

-          Den stora majoriteten av företagen upplever att arbetsmarknaden fungerar som den ska, säger SEB:s företagarekonom Ingela Hemming i dagens SvD.

Nyligen kom Företagarna med en undersökning som visar att samtliga rödgröna partier har en mer företagarvänlig politik än Moderaterna.

Sébastien Loeb se ha proclamado campeón del Mundial de Rallyes después de realizar una carrera, más o menos, cómoda, sobre todo en los tramos finales, donde su adversario, Mikko Hirvonen, ha sufrido un percance con el capó de su coche. Sordo ha quedado tercero y Solberg cuarto. Latvala, por una salida de pista, sólo consiguió la septima plaza.

Atrás quedaron los cuatro títulos conseguidos por Tommi Makkinen y Juha Kankkunen cuando Loeb consiguió, el año pasado, su quinto título mundial. Sin duda estábamos ante el mejor piloto de rallyes de todos los tiempos, por lo menos, en lo que a palmarés se refiere, pero este año, el francés, ha vuelto a superarse consiguiendo su sexto título de campeón mundial.

“Este ha sido uno de los mejores títulos que he ganado; la lucha ha sido muy intensa, ha llegado casi hasta el final del último rallye. Ha sido increíble. Este año hemos tenido buenos y malos ratos, pero hemos terminado alzándonos con el triunfo. ¡Es una sensación increíble!” ha declarado Loeb.

Todo estaba muy apretado con el punto de diferencia que sacaba Hirvonen a Séb a falta de una prueba, el Rallye de Gran Bretaña. Desde el primer día y a pesar de los ataques del finlandés, Loeb estuvo en cabeza y fue ampliando la ventaja sobre Hirvonen, cinco segundos el viernes y medio minuto el sábado. Hoy, cuando el piloto de Ford recortaba tiempo a su rival, el capó del coche se ha levantado y se ha puesto en vertical, por lo que ha tenido que parar, con la consiguiente pérdida de tiempo, un minuto. “Bueno, el capó ha sido nuestro último problema, pero en realidad perdí el rallye ayer al no poder encontrar el ritmo en esos dos tramos,” ha comentado Hirvonen. “Ahora tengo que volver al trabajo y el año que viene tengo que ser más rápido. Aun así ha sido mi mejor temporada. Estamos muy cerca de su velocidad y eso sienta bien. Ha sido un gran año, pero por supuesto, también una gran decepción al final.”

Dani Sordo ha cerrado una sensacional temporada con un formidable tercer puesto en el cajón. La misma posición ha conseguido en la clasificación general de pilotos con 64 puntos. “Ha sido un día fantástico y un gran campeonato también, estoy muy contento. He intentado atrapar a Mikko al final, y he disfrutado de mi lucha con Petter, pero por supuesto tengo que felicitar a Sebastien“, ha manifestado el español.

El próximo 10 de febrero empieza la nueva temporada del WRC, una temporada que se presenta muy interesante por varios motivos: Loeb intentará conseguir su séptimo título mundial, Sordo su primera victoria, Hirvonen arrebatar la hegemonía a Séb y Latvala demostrar por qué Ford confía en él como segundo piloto oficial.

Calendario WRC 2010

The Ontario Self Employment Benefit (OSEB) Program has been suspended as of October 9th 2009. The people who have entered the program still go on with it, but the new applications are not accepted until April or so. Rumour has it that the funds have been redirected to the Second Career program.

The Baltics are in bad shape. Ask any Swedish banker.

The foreign banks with the greatest exposure to the troubled region, Swedbank and SEB, reported third-quarter results this week. SEB, reporting today, is in relatively better shape, eking out a small profit in its latest quarter. Nevertheless, its losses on loans in the Baltics are striking (the chart is taken from a company presentation).

Swedbank, reporting yesterday, recorded a third consecutive quarterly loss thanks to large impairment losses on loans. In addition to the Baltics, Swedbank is suffering from heavy losses in Ukraine [subscription required].

With the threat of devaluation and an aggressive mortgage modification plan looming in Latvia, it looks to be a long winter for Swedish lenders.

Residents of Wellington City, New Zealand joined forces with the folks behind OutdoorKnit and beautified this fence on a corner in their community where development has come to somewhat of a standstill. A group gathered on a Sunday afternoon to weave colourful hearts into the spaces on the chain link fence. The effect from a distance looks as though all the hearts are simply floating in air. I love this kind of craftivism, and seeing folks of all ages participate makes it even more wonderful!

So do I original poster, so do I! Though, I would place the word ‘wonderful’ with Lovely But I think we all know that by now. I love this idea so much and it is super relevant to the past few weeks of my life… For some trickle down MakeLovely effect I am going to enlist the help of the lovely Jen and see if she will help me do something special in college. There’s a basket ball sports area outside the front where this would be perfect For me, it will be in memory of a certain lovely someone. I would love many people to see this to remember the importance of being creative, as well as spreading the love and improving their surroundings. If it is not allowed, or taken down – it will be a laughable o’fence (wha!) because this is harming no one and the fence is already there. Watch this space! Hopefully this will be happening on Tuesday, I might ask permission and go at it full throttle so it may actually happen later in the week than that.

tro att några ANDRA skall betala för kalaset. Förvisso var de baltiska staterna nedgångna och beroende österut vid tiden för självständighet. Men vill man smaka kakan, så måste man också vara beredd att kunna rätta matsäcken efter vad man har råd att sätta på bordet! Det är så lätt för vänsternissar att skylla på Anders Borgs krav på de baltiska staternas EGNA åtstramningsåtgärder eller att skylla på en ‘kapitalistisk’ bankekonomi som varit beredd att satsa pengar, men definitivt inte varit beredd att kasta bort pengar. Bygger man för stort hus så att man inte har råd att inreda eller värma upp huset, så får man stå sitt kast oavsett var i världen detta händer. Vill man ha allt för lånade pengar, så kan man visserligen fråga sig om bankerna kollat kreditvärdigheten tillräckligt, men det är den som tar lånet som gjort valet och skrivit på låneförbindelsen. Baltikum har fått ekonomiskt stöd från flera håll under sin uppbyggnad till ett modernt Europeiskt samhälle. Det är bra. Men eget ansvar är eget ansvar!

Oyez, Oyez du 10 au 18 Octobre 2008, c’est la semaine du goût…

Mais elle est un peu spéciale puisqu’elle a 20 ans.

La manifestation veut contribuer à “sensibiliser les Français à la richesse d’un patrimoine” et “leur faire prendre conscience, face à la standardisation des goûts et des identités culinaires, que le bien manger n’est pas un luxe mais doit rester une exigence au quotidien”, selon les organisateurs.

Initiée par Jean-Luc Petitrenaud (notre photo) et la Collective du Sucre, la première Journée du Goût a eu lieu le lundi 15 octobre 1990, place du Trocadero. 350 chefs ont donné leurs premières “Leçons de Goût” aux élèves de CM1-CM2 des écoles parisiennes.

Plusieurs animations sont prévues, cette année encore, partout en France. Depuis une dizaine d’années, des écoles hôtelières sont agréées par le réseau Cercles Culinaires de France et dispensent dans leur ville, des cours de cuisine accessibles à tous. Une cuisine en compagnie des professeurs de cuisine et parfois des grands chefs prêts à partager leurs trucs et astuces. Cette année, les Cercles Culinaires de France s’associent à la Semaine du Goût et organisent partout en France, des cours de cuisine du 10 au 18 octobre 2009. Toutes les dates et lieux sont répertoriés sur le site Internet www.cercleculinaire.com (rubrique cours de cuisine).

Au total, 6.000 “leçons” doivent être dispensées dans l’ensemble du pays.

Chef sur le campus

La Semaine innove avec l’opération “Chef sur le campus” destinée à apprendre aux étudiants à “manger bien, bon et pas cher”. La Sorbonne accueillera mardi une soixantaine d’étudiants qui viendront assister au “show culinaire” du chef Gérard Cagna. Six autres universités organiseront des opérations similaires en province.

Des menus spéciaux à prix attractif dans 500 restaurants et des animations régionales (restaurants éphémères, dégustations, démonstrations…) figurent également au menu.

Les balades du goût

Autre animation à ne pas manquer… La Balade du Goût. Vous êtes invités dans les fermes d’Ile-de-France le week-end du 17- 18 octobre 2009. Comme il est de coutume, toute la famille aura le bonheur de visiter gratuitement les fermes, les élevages, et appréciera l’authenticité et le savoir faire des producteurs.

He’s Biblical, quirky and offers up a great nickname.

Thanks to Paul for suggesting Zebulon as Name of the Day.

Zebulon made Nameberry’s  Ten Great Names You’re Not Using list a few months ago.  And if you think about his logical nickname – Zeb – it’s true.  Playgrounds are packed with boys called Zach and Seb.  (Since 2000, nearly 125,000 boys have been named Zachary.  Over 47,000 have been called Sebastian.)  And as parents dust off Biblical names faster than you can say “Puritan,” I’m even hearing Jebediah – Jeb – and Jedidiah – Jed.

So why  not Zebulon?

In the Bible, Zebulon – or Zebulun or Zabulon – was one of Jacob and Leah’s kids.  You’ll find him in the Torah and the Book of Genesis.  He’s also the founder of the Tribe of Zebulon.  (Or Zebulun.  Or Zabulon.)

The meaning of his name is hotly debated:

• Apparently the root, zbl, occurs in plenty of personal names from the era – including Jezebel – and is linked both to the god Baal and to the words raise or elevate.  In the Bronze Age many centuries BC, the root appears in at least one place name, too;
• There’s also zebed – gift;
• Yizbeleni, meaning honor, is another possible source;
• Then there’s zibhe – sacrifice;
• Exaltation is given as the meaning in a few places;
• Lastly there’s dwelling or house, listed in a few others.

My best guess?  Zebulon has something in common with Katherine.  While we like to give her meaning as pure, research suggests that she’s actually derived from the goddess Hecate.  Reference that first possible meaning for our friend Zeb.  One of Baal’s titles was “rider of the clouds” – a fitting image for any god, and one that incorporates the meaning elevated, too.  So yes, he’s a Biblical babe – but with a pagan past.

He also sounds Colonial cool, thanks to some early American Zebulons.  Zebulon Heston came to the US in 1684 along with his fellow Quaker settlers.  Zebulon Butler and Zebulon Pike were both soldiers during the Revolutionary War.

Zebulon Pike’s boy – also named Zebulon Pike – is well remembered for the mountain he didn’t quite scale.  Pike the Younger became a solider and an explorer, mapping the head of the Arkansas River and much of the Louisiana Purchase.  In 1806, he attempt to climb the mountain that we now call Pike’s Peak, in the Colorado Rockies.  Deep snow and inadequate supplies kept him from making it to the top.

Pike continued his military career through the War of 1812, eventually dying in service.   Journals of his treks through the American southwest were published in 1810, and widely read.  You’ll find a place named in his honor in at least a dozen states; in Georgia, the county seat of Pike County is  Zebulon.

The name faded in the nineteenth century, though there’s Zebulon Vance, a former Confederate Civil War officer and influential North Carolina politician post-war.

He’s made only five appearances in the US Top 1000 – in 1891, 1978-1980 and 1984.

And yet Zebulon might be just on the right side of quirky, thanks to that zippy nickname.  If you like obscure Biblical picks – and aren’t fussed about his non-Christian roots – he’s one to consider.

Hypermarcas: A empresa anunciou nesta quarta-feira a aquisição das duas maiores marcas de preservativos do Brasil (Jontex e Olla), marcando a entrada da empresa nesse setor.  Encaramos tal notícia de forma positiva, dado que a empresa dá mais um passo para a consolidação do seu business de consumo no país. De acordo com o CEO da empresa, o mercado é rentável e possui um dos maiores potenciais de crescimento de demanda do mundo, que é reforçado com as boas perspectivas do País que deverão aumentar a valorização dos cuidados com a saúde.

SEB: A empresa adquiriu o colégio Monet, localizado na Bahia, pelo valor de R$ 1,247 milhões. A empresa conta com 416 alunos e possui uma receita estimada de R$ 3 milhões para este ano, com uma margem Ebitda de 10%. Apesar da expansão e diversificação geográfica da SEB, encaramos que a unidade adquirida na Bahia possui uma margem operacional baixa.

Telesp: A oferta de aquisição da GVT pela Telesp, não vai afetar os ratings da Telesp. Em nota divulgada nesta quarta-feira pela Moody’s, a perspectiva estável para a companhia não será alterada. Encaramos de forma positiva a notícia, dado que mesmo o montante da oferta sendo elevado, no valor de R$ 6,5 bilhões em espécie, a perspectiva de crédito não será alterada.  Porém, embora a aquisição seja positiva para a Telesp do ponto de vista estratégico, o preço envolvido na operação é bastante elevado, na nossa opinião. Considerávamos a política de distribuição de dividendos como o maior atrativo dos papéis, que ficará obviamente reduzido por conta da aquisição. Acreditamos que o resultado do terceiro trimestre seja mais fraco pela suspensão de venda de serviços, além da propaganda negativa que a empresa vem sofrendo pelas contínuas panes que levam à interrupção de seus serviços. Não recomendamos a exposição às ações.

Localiza: A empresa registrou lucro líquido consolidado de R$ 20,6 milhões no 3T09, apresentando queda de 58,9% sobre o mesmo período do ano passado, com base no padrão USGAAP.  O resultado foi afetado negativamente pela redução de R$ 13,3 milhões na geração de caixa do negócio de seminovos, neste contexto, o EBITDA de vendas de carros caiu mais de 72% entre o 3T09 e o mesmo período do ano passado.

Santander: As units fecharam com queda de 3,74%, cotadas a R$ 22,62 – na mínima do dia. Foi a ação mais negociada com volume de R$ 1,93 bilhão ao passo que a mais negociada do Ibovespa foi Vale PNA R$ 498 milhões. Isso é natural nos primeiros dias pós-IPO e depois vai caindo até atingir um nível próximo dos bancos grandes.

Fluxo- A Bovespa registrou a entrada de R$ 422,450 milhões em capital externo no dia 5 de outubro, segunda-feira. Com isso, o acumulado no mês registra superávit de R$ 178,425 milhões. No ano, o saldo positivo soma R$ 18,185 bilhões.

Tog ett break från studierna för att ringa min bank och höra vart mitt nya bankkort har tagit vägen. Mitt gamla går ut nu i Oktober och jag har ingen lust att vara utan ett kort pga av deras misstag. Fick tag på en trevlig tjej på kontoret som lovade att det skulle vara i min ägo senast slutet på nästa vecka. Början av nästa vecka vore bättre..  Jaja, jag får väl åka hem å kolla mot slutet av nästa vecka om det kommit eller ej. Jag antar att mami ändå vill att jag ska ta en runda till Söder och vattna m.m. när hon och Pitah är i Marocko. Lyllisar. Jaja. Jag kunde åkt med jag också, om jag hade haft dineros. Får vänta ett tag till jag! Men snart så! : )

Om de här bonusarna går till vanliga anställda inom bankväsendet är det måhända inte så farligt – de kanske behöver sig en extrahacka för att dryga ut svältpensionen – med tanke på hur mycket deras pensionsförsäkringar sjunkit i värde, ifall de följt sina egna råd. Går de däremot till bonusdirektörerna får man nog kallt konstatera, att inte bara skam förnöjt spatserar på torra land, utan att varje uns anständighet permanent emigrerat från det politiko-ekonomiska systemet, tillsammans med de skattepengar som utsugits med hjälp av en moral så töjbar, att den klarar vilket bungyjump som helst. Svångremmen lämnar man åt utanförskapsmänniskan att dra åt,  i strypläge – för tid och för evighet.

I bakgrunden hörs kriget mullra – kriget mot talibanernas Afghanistan – ‘the graveyard of empires’ - och mullornas Iran – Sista världskrigets vagga?

När Kina tröttnar på att vara hela världens hyperbankir – då väntar den nakna nöden och den bleka döden för västerlandets civilisation.

Solid Seb: Combat, Stealth, Tactical Action

A fictional poster for a character i created based on a person i know from school. He was also a source of inspiration for another character called the Seb Monster.

This piece started as a humoursly bad photoshop picture that i felt compelled to sketch in my new sketchbook because it lacked sketches. Some how it evolved or devolved into this.
