Hungría se mueve. Hace ya bastante conocí al productor húngaro Peter Bergmann  aka We Plants Are Happy Plants gracias a un mix que hizo del “Viva la Vida” de Coldplay, que pasó hiperdesapercibido básicamente porqué había unos mil más de mejores que el suyo. Ahora vuelve con tema propio y vídeo, para demostrar que Hungría, a parte de haber sido conquistada por el Imperio de Carlomagno hace mucho, también tiene moderneo. En el vídeo, dirigido por Peter Herz, ha puesto todos los estereotipos del moderno de los noventa, como pueden ser las chapas, el dj con la chupa de chándal y un pc con pegatina de Daft Punk. En su myspace nos cuenta que tiene como influencias a gente como Daft Punk, Radiohead, Moderselektors, Justice, Röyksopp y Sebastian Tellier entre otros, así que yo me lo creo y le dedico un post, anda…..

O cantor, compositor e multi-instrumentista francês fez seu primeiro show em Recife na edição do festival No Ar Coquetel Molotov deste ano e também pelo Brasil. Ele consegue transitar entre o mainstream e o underground com propriedade.

Seu primeiro álbum, lançado em 2001, é chamado L’incroyable Vérité. Até hoje, foram lançados mais quatro discos: Politics (2004), Sessions (2006), Universe (2006) e Sexuality (2008). Em seu show no Brasil, ele deu ênfase às composições de seu último álbum, que transita por influências como música clássica de Giorgio Moroder e o pop de Justin Timberlake.

Este chico de París, está encantado de conocerse, y si no pasad por su myspace y estad atentos a la descripción del artista (dice que ha actualizado el french touch, ja!), y de las fotos que hay colgadas; además, Allure viene a significar algo como “desprender fascinación” y entre sus temas están títulos como “Champagne”, “Dandy” o “Diamonds”. Olé por él. A parte de eso hacía tiempo que tenía ganas de dedicarle algún post ya que también es cierto que esas sobradas, marcan una personalidad marcada y estilo diferente (bueno, eso no tanto) dentro de la música electrónica francesa. El chaval aún no tiene nada editado, sólo un mix para Sebastian Tellier, pero yo creo que en nada, tendrá Ep; apunta maneras al menos….

Record Makers est un label indépendant fondé en 2000 par le groupe Air et associés Teissier et Elfassi. Ces derniers ont une vision large de l’industrie du disque, puisqu’ils s’attaquent à d’autres chantiers que la musique on pensera au cinéma, à la publicité et à la mode. Turzi joue B en ce moment ! Venu tout droit de Versailles, ce groupe à deux facettes : Le leader Romain Turzi et son groupe Four Organs. Âgé d’une trentaine de ballets Romain Turzi est un musicien et compositeur. Il a pondu un mini album intitulé Made Under Authority en 2005 et l’album “A” en 2007. Comme vous vous l’imaginez, la lettre A est suivie de la lettre B. Ainsi, “B” est l’intitulé du second album de Turzi sortie le 27 Octobre 2009.

“Je vivais en banlieue où j’avais ma bande, on se passionnait tous pour la musique. Ma première claque fut l’album de Sonic Youth, j’y ai trouvé le goût de la dissonance, le désir de faire quelque chose de différent avec une guitare. Toute ma construction musicale reposait sur ça, l’idée de faire quelque chose d’original en se basant sur une formation rock.”

Le morceau Thriller in Bombay (Koudlam Remix) est le titre qui m’a le plus séduit dans Buenos Aires/Bombay. Démonstration palpitante de l’habileté des compositions de Roman Turzi, nous avons un pied en 1983 un autre dans l’éternité. Le parcours est psychédélique et savoureux : Bombay, Buenos Aires, Bangkok pour finir à Bamako, voyage inoubliable dans lequel les oreilles en prennent un coup.

Il faut être dans un état particulier pour écouter Turzi ?

Kavinsky

Kavinsky est né en 1968 et mort en 1986. Il est mort dans un accident de la route au volant de sa Testarossa en 86. En 2005, il ré-apparait en zombie et depuis, il se manifeste au quatre coins du globe en jouant sa musique. Tout a commencé avec Teddy Boy, les hommes à l’époque se rassemblaient pour assister à ce phénomène et voulaient être témoin de ce miracle. Puis tout c’est enchainé, faisant partie du monde des vivants Kavinsky enregistre en 2007 1986 et participe aux premières parties de la tournée mondiale de Daft Punk. 2 robots français populaires  pour leur musique unique en leur genre. Après avoir traversé le monde entier avec sa Testarossa, il rentre chez lui, Record Makers, et envisage d’enregistrer un album. Épisodes en production. A écouter ici.

2001 la sortie de son premier album intitulé l’incroyable vérité dans lequel il fait appel à la magie de Quentin Dupieux (Mr Oizo). Les années 70 dominent les sonorités de ce premier opus de notre barbus.

2004 Sébastien Tellier avait envi de se vider le bide et de nous pondre Politics dans lequel il essaie de nous amener à l’autre bout du monde. De nous rendre compte que l’on a la capacité d’analyser les choses autour de nous : la conscience. Le titre La Ritournelle est selon moi le meilleur de cet album.

2006 l’année du studio et de l’isolement avec Guy-Manuel de Homen-Christo. Tellier veut passer à autre chose et nous livrer une galette pleine d’aventures.

2007 l’année du sexe. Sexuality est le dernier album en date de Sébastien Tellier. La mise en scène est parfaite. Biarritz ville d’un été, la plage lieu de rencontres et de folies, cocktails martini pour éveiller notre imagination et nos fantasmes. Sexuality est un album aux allures B.O porno à consommer avec modération. A écouter et à voir ici ou ici.

« J’ai longtemps passé mes vacances ici. Toujours voulu y revenir, jouer ma musique et me dire « ce soir, je suis au top ». Dans cette chanson, le soleil tape et je fantasme dur sur les filles en bikini. Si je voulais séduire, je passerais cette chanson, une version européenne, française, de l’envoûtement sexuel que procure le r’n’b américain.»

I wont be making a habit of it, but here is an original remix. It’s a Sebastien Tellier track, with bits of Abdullah Ibrahim, Tangerine Dream, and Ralph Towner in there. This is my second crack at mixing this, hope you enjoy it.

Parce que j’avais envi de tendresse, d’amour, de folies, de fantasmes et de sexe. Afin de combler ce manque et d’éprouver une certaine sensation de légèreté  totale,  je vous amène du coté de Record Makers. Avec son dernier album intitulé Sexuality sortie en 2008 (oui je sais c’est un peu vieux et tout le monde connait mais c’est tellement bon !) que je considère comme d’un petit chef d’oeuvre, Sébastien Tellier nous amène dans des endroits intenses en émotions entre porno chic et sensualité. Le barbu a prouvé, à travers cet opus, qu’il était le maitre dans cette discipline.  Je vous propose d’écouter La ritournelle, titre que l’on peut retrouver dans l’album Politics, et le morceau L’amour et la violence qui est de loin pour moi le meilleur de l’album.

I’m not sure if any of you are familular with couch surfers but my neighbor had some folks surfin at her place. So they walked over and I met a girl from Estonia.
I’m not sure what I was expecting but It wasn’t really what walked through the door.
She was mad cute, had an adorable accent and a great taste in music.
We spent the night talking about her time being in Chicago and the diffrences. I let her have free rain over my music and she couldn’t have made better picks.

This is the first post on the site, and is there a better way to kick things of than to give everyone a chance to experience Girls much hyped album “Album” (Listen in Spotify)?

Album is one multifaceted album, starting of with an ecstacy of joy and Sebastien Tellier choirs in Lust For Life followed up by the amazing Track Laura. That is almost enough for me! To top it of you get classic rock n’ roll in Big Bad Mean Mother Fucker (nice song titel) and Morning Light that sounds just a little (tiny little) like M83, don’t you think?

Brooklyn’s own Viva Radio has announced the release of a compilation including the likes of The Dandy Warhols, Jay Reatard,The Fiery Furnaces, Growing, Amazing Baby, and Sebastien Tellier, reports Filter. Entitled The Best of Me + You Vol. 1, the album was recorded between 2007 and 2009 in their Brooklyn studios and will include interviews and songs from some of the station’s guests. To make the offer even more enticing, the disc is available for purchase along with a limited edition Me + You t-shirt. We’re sold!

Filter also reports that Berkeley-based indie rockers the Morning Benders will play several shows with Grizzly Bear and Girls during their Fall tour. The Benders hooked up with Grizzly Bear on the production of their latest album, Big Echo, which was  co-producer by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor. Last Nights Gathering x Bonita Applebum

so here we go with another successful night of living.
It was exactly what i needed after a stressful few weeks of moving and finding a place.
I am overall feeling pretty happy with life.
So because of this great feeling, if been listening to a lot of dope ass feel good music.
Since you know i love you all, Ive got some great music to help you get through the day.

Last night was pretty hilarious.
My friend Dan brought his friends in town so he had a few folks over.
My friend Yazzie said she was gonna bring a few friends and that turned into about 15.
She rolls deep, i knew this, yet i still caught off guard when i opened the door to this handful of people.
All was well though, we played a bunch of games. Most that i won at, beer pong and foosball, who wants some.

After the drunkenness set in, more and more people started dancing and who dosent love a dance party.

There’s been tons of new goodness coming out this past week.  I’m so stoked to share these tracks! Last night also marked the opener to the 2009 NHL season.  Fuck yeah, I’m all smiles!

New beats in Buenos Aires!  (I hope they knew before we all did).  Tellier & Turzi connected to give us one hell of an instrumental.  Whether its knockin down harmony or throwing together some great dance beats these boys know how to get it done.  This mix has some great rhythm to it, and if you let it, will easily eat the next five minutes of your life in a surreal way.

The XX are phenomenal.  Their sound is largely eclectic and very original.  I jumped onto the wagon when they first appeared on here a few weeks ago.  Absolute perfect for those seeking a chill, mood track.  This song below is an extended edit.  Therefore it has been extended into a bar of solid gold.  Recommended for those seeking to drift off into the night and simply fade away.

Cut Copy graced everyone last week with a new remix, and what a remix at that.  Their spin on Munk’s Back Down is excellent, but hey I’m a bit biased when it comes to Cut Copy having loved almost everything by them since being first introduced to the Australian crew.  But seriously how can one not be stoked over this when those keys interrupt the interlude a minute and a half into the sequence?

These final two tracks are unreal and they were both introduced to me by Tracasseur. Although, it was especially nice of them to put Lifelike back on our radar by posting a great interview, which you can all read here.  I thought my Lifelike library was fairly extensive but those guys showed me I was missing one large extensive piece to the collection.  Everything about this track is solid, I’m not sure where to begin but I would ‘dub’ it one of the best electro-dance love songs I’ve heard in a long time.  Thanks fellas.
