Suffering Is Self-Manufactured
I believe the immediate purpose of life is to live – to survive. All known forms of life go through life cycles. The basic plan is: birth – maturing – mating – reproducing – death.

Thus the immediate purpose of human life is for each individual to fulfill his life cycle. This involves proper maturing into the fully developed adult of the specie.

The pine tree grows straight unless harmful influences warp it. So does the human being. It is a finding of the greatest significance that the mature man and woman have the nature and characteristics of the good spouse and parent: the ability to enjoy responsible working and loving.

If the world consisted primarily of mature persons – loving, responsible, productive, toward family, friends and the world – most of our human problems would be resolved.

But most people have suffered in childhood from influences which have warped their development. Hence, as adults they have not realized their full and proper nature. They feel something is wrong without knowing what it is. They feel inferior, frustrated, insecure, and anxious. And they react to these inner feelings just as any animal reacts to any hurt or threat: by readiness to fight or to flee. Flight carries them into alcoholism and other mental disorders. Fight impels them to crime, cruelty, war.

This readiness to violence, this inhumanity of man to man, is the basic problem of human life – for, in the form of war, it now threatens to extinguish us.

Without the fight-flight reaction, man would never have survived the cave and the jungle. But now, through social living, man has made himself relatively safe from the elements and wild beasts. He is even learning to protect himself against disease. He can produce adequate food, clothing and shelter for the present population of the earth. Barring a possible astronomical accident, he now faces no serious threat to his existence, except one – the fight-flight reaction within himself. This jungle readiness to hurt and to kill is now a vestigial hangover like the appendix, which interferes with the new and more powerful means of coping with nature through civilization. Trying to solve every problem by fighting or fleeing is the primitive method, still central for the immature child. The later method, understanding and co-operation, requires the mature capacities of the adult.

In an infantile world, fighting may be forced upon one. Then it is more effective if handled maturely for mature goals. Probably war will cease only when enough people are mature.

The basic problem is social adaptation and biologic survival. The basic solution is for people to understand the nature of their own biological emotional maturity, to work toward it, to help the children in their development toward it.

Human suffering is mostly made by man himself. It is primarily the result of the failure of adults, because of improper child-rearing, to mature emotionally. Hence instead of enjoying their capacities for responsible work and love, they are grasping, egocentric, insecure, frustrated, anxious and hostile. Maturity is the path from madness and murder to inner peace and satisfying living for each individual and for the human specie.

This I believe on the evidence of science and through personal observation and experience.

howdy!

I absolutely love love love this season. All the bright bold colours; totally yummilicious!

I just secretly hope this trend stays for long so everyone can just indulge in the happy vibes a while longer. Seeing happy colours, and wearing them. I bet there are less depressed people around too.

Following a very happy launch with TVD and MGG for our Lampshade Skirt, this week Little Red Heels collaborated with The Tinsel Rack to bring a super adorable scallop hem AND polkadot tank dress. Basically, we just throw all that we love into the dress and it came out like that! Haha. We like.

LRH has it in poppy red with nude polkadots & cabbage green with navy polkadots;

while TTR has it in strawberry shortcake with black polkadots & bubblegum blue with nude polkadots.

I deliberately wore it out yesterday before the launch so I can make sure the colour is true to pic when I do the photoshop-ping, and so I can feel the happy vibes as we launched it! Heh.

Muahaha. Sorry, it’s all crumpled. I was rushing out in the morning but seriously, this material just smooths out as you wear it. So heh, pardon me ok? If you are sharp to realise, I took away the sash later in the day ’cause I saw this cute pink patent belt lying around and it just totally made the whole dress even cuter!

Anyway, the girls looks superb in this dress! I think Nicole especially rock the cabbage green shade with her super fair complexion.

As most of you already know, we collaborated with Megagamie and TheVelvetDolls for this skirt. :)

It’s springtime at Little Red Heels! : )

We told you April will be an exciting month. 2 series in a week (we just launched 1 on earlier this week on Monday)! Are we enthusiastic or what?

Next launch will be tentatively this Sunday, 17APR at 7PM.

We are totally loving the colours in this series – very loud, bold and happy! Very Little Red Heels, yes, we are very glad to be back. : )

No more hoping we keep up with this. We WILL make it happen! (Right, Zi??)

Here’s a preview of the series – featuring our very own skater skirt, the Marc Jacobs inspired flare dress, I Heart Polkadot Dress relaunched in new colours and a pretty Marc Jacobs inspired floral blouse which DX totally rocked in.

We tried a few funny things this series. Like getting Linda to wear a wig ’cause she keeps surprising us with her hair colour every photo shoot. Haha, and some turned out erm, not so nice than the others. Urps. We need wigs with more ATTITUDE. Now, we’ll pass the baton to our design pixie, Farah, to make it work. (Thanks, babe!)

hello honeys!!

this is no joke! we have gotten
so many manufactured items lined up
all the way to Lunar New Year. :)

(Yeppie, those stocks are coincidentally
flooding Min’s bedroom that she can’t close
her bedroom door and have to sometimes
leap from point A to point B.)

The good news are,

1.
Min will be stationed in Sillypore for
the next 2 months. So no more monthly
week-long MIA which I have to thank
you girls for being so patient and
understanding thus far. <3

2.
Zi will also be back end of this
month from her 6 months (is it called)
attachment in US – that lucky girl!

Things are looking good good GOOD!

If all goes as planned,
LRH will be back on our feet with weekly launches.

I got half deceived and half cajoled into doing a TV news interview by a university friend for Channel 8 & U. Not for Little Red Heels alone but to give an online store perspective. The topic was on blogshop trends and its relation to Singpost.

Zi is not in Singapore so I had to go for it alone. Boo. Wish you were there with me, Zi!

But we still remember to do some subtle advertising, like lying the packages with the ILOVELRH.COM label faced up and wearing our manufactured Honey Bee Floral Flare Dress. Heh.

Quite an experience but I am not sure if I want to do it again. Haha. And that’s my 30 seconds to “fame”.

Look what we found when surfing ASOS.com?

A polkadot dress that looks eerily similar to the vintage piece we self manufactured right out of my mummy’s wardrobe.

But I am not complaining!

Not when what we did is less than a quarter of what they are offering on ASOS.
(Don’t get me wrong, I love ASOS but I also love a good deal.)
