Thanksgiving is past and Black Friday is almost over. I actually hate the consumerism of Black Friday. So today, my mom and I spent the day cleaning out the garage and donating things to Goodwill.

I took a bunch of photographs a few days ago while playing with motion and self portraits. I have been experimenting with textures as well.  I will be posting those in the next few days.  This photograph is of course using textures and I used a slow shutter speed so the photo is extra soft.

We found some old cameras out in the garage today, and I of course kept them.  I love them.

After all that work though, I am utterly exhausted.  Tomorrow we go to get the Christmas tree and decorate the house.  Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures.

If you’re a Facebook user, then the pose Astronaut Robert Satcher is striking should be all too familiar, which makes it even more surreal that this photo was taken while in outer space. The shot was captured during a six-hour and 37-minute spacewalk, while Satcher and Mike Foreman worked on a space station. I have been looking at it for a few minutes now and it’s incredible how much there is to notice. Until I clicked on the high-res version, I didn’t even see the other astronaut in the reflection. I would love to see some EXIF data. Click on the image above for a high-res version that’s just begging to become your desktop background.

DAY TWENTY-ONE

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I actually ate some turkey today taste just like chicken.lol. But i didn’t really like it. I just had lots of corn today. The corn was good. My family and I ate at corridos for dinner. In the morning I watched Ninja Assassin. For some reason it felt like it was a short story. Was there even a story? Looks like there was more fighting. It was bloody. The fight scenes were awesome. I don’t know why i fell asleep when he was fighting his “brother” well i closed my eyes and he already killed him. Anyways I have lots to do still. I still got my paper to do, study for my exam plus work on my presentation for my leadership class. Well well then! Goodbye! Good night!

My Grandmother has relatively current head shots of all her Grandchildren on display in her home. I’m in one of those pictures, but it’s anything but current. It’s circa 2001. She’s been asking for a new picture since 2003 or so, so I decided to shoot one for her. I hope she will be happy with it.

So, this is a self-portrait that I happen to really like.

I haven’t uploaded any new photos in a few days. I have not really had the opportunity to take many. It has been so cold and rainy out.

I do however want to start trying some new things in Photoshop with textures and things. I might be re-editing some of my photos just for fun.

My addiction to deviantART has grown fatal.  I spend way too much time on there.  I have realized that I reallyreallyreally want to a pro account.  I also want one for Flickr. However that costs $50 that I do not have.  Next $50 that I get, is going towards those two things.  I love them both oh so much. However I still want to keep my Fotki account because of the great price on prints. Those prices are just amazing.

Well, I have come to the realization that I am a Pro-Am.  This term means professional-amateur. Apparently in the world of art, people use the term to refer to anyone who takes there hobby to the extreme.  That would be me. I am not a professional because I do not turn a profit. However, I take my photography very serious and try to learn to the best of my abilities.

On another note, I want to start making icons. I have no idea what they will be used for, but I want to make them. It will be fun.

I renewed my notary commission today. Below are the functions of a notary, I stole this stuff off the web:

Notaries traditionally record matters of judicial importance as well as private transactions or events where an officially authenticated record or a document drawn up with professional skill or knowledge was required.

Documents certified by notaries are sealed with the notary’s seal or stamp and are recorded by the notary in a register (also called a “protocol”) maintained and permanently kept by him or her.

Notaries must also be sworn in by the clerk of the county in which he or she resides.

The woman at the desk talked on the phone the entire time I was there. I made things easy for her by having my documents and money ready so she didn’t have to ask, I like being prepared, but at least say hello.

The only time she put her call on hold and actually spoke to me is when she told me read my OWN oath. She slid a piece of paper underneath a glass window and said to read this (oath) out loud or to myself. I read it to myself.

I signed additional documents and that was it. I hate when I think something is going to be more than it is and I’m left with a “that’s it, that’s all you got” feeling.

Lauren came over last night, we bleached my hair out to platinum on the top, dyed it, then did layers of pink underneath (Manic Panic Cotton Candy and Hot Hot Pink), it’s hard to see the layers unless I’m laying down like this (hence sweet ceiling fan action) normally the pink just peeks out on the bottom edge. I’m really not sure if this is “me” or not, I really loved the blue, and the blond I think is … well … way too normal looking, if that makes any sense. Thoughts?
