TAMID hosted a video conference with Israeli venture capitalist, Nir Elperin, who delivered a stimulating seminar on venture capital and the high-technology sector in Israel. Nir Elperin is Vice President of Arba Finance, an Israeli venture capital fund in Tel Aviv, where TAMID’s co-director Garrett Levenbrook interned over the summer.

TAMID’s Bet Class (27 students) burned the midnight oil to engage Nir, staying up until 3 a.m. as a result of the 7-hour time difference with Israel. TAMID gathered in the University of Michigan Hillel’s Green Auditorium which supports a wall-sized projector screen on which Nir was broadcast via webcam on a split-screen, with the other side presenting Nir’s PowerPoint presentation about venture capital in Israel. Nir began with an introduction to venture financing, and segued into the various sources of funding for entrepreneurs, including government grants, angel investors, venture capital funds, and Israel’s Office of the Chief Scientist. Nir then compared various industries and provided his assessment on Israel’s entrepreneurial future. The seminar wrapped up with Q&A from TAMID. When asked in what industries Israel will maintain a competitive advantage over the rest of the world in the next 10 years, Nir told TAMID to look out for the communication, defense, internet and life-sciences sectors. He said there is great innovation in these areas and that level will only grow in the future.

Nir’s main concerns for the future of Israeli VCs are:

• Israel’s dependence on foreign investments
• Lack of a local market – Israel turns to the international market for selling most of its products
• Lack of funds – fewer than 5 companies in Israel w/ revenues higher than $1B
• Lack of new funds for VCs (venture capital) – Israel needs to turn to the international market for funding, as VCs get most of their investors from North America
• Brain-Drain – more and more Israelis being educated in North American and European business schools, and they may stay there instead of bringing the knowledge back to Israel

Pada hari selasa tanggal 24 Nopember 2009 jam 15 bertempat di Grand Candi Hotel Semarang saya memenuhi permintaan panitia seminar nasional vokasi ADGVI untuk menjadi moderator. Sebagai narasumber saat itu adalah Bpk Didik Imbriyakto (Direktur ATMI Surakarta) dan Bpk Djoko Sutrisno (Direktur Pembinaan SMK Depdiknas).

Bapak Didik dalam pemaparannya menyampaikan profil ATMI, dilanjutkan success story dari ATMI sekaligus dijelaskan sasaran pelaksanaan pendidikan di ATMI yang mendasarkan pada proporsi yang tepat antara Attitude, Skill dan Knowledge (ASK) dengan penekanan pada sense of quality.

Bapak Djoko menjelaskan tentang regulasi pendidikan khususnya SMK, apa yang sedang dilakukan, dan apa yang akan dicapai pendidikan SMK di masa mendatang. Saat ini SMK sudah dapat merakit sendiri mesin CNC, sepeda motor, mobil, komputer, notebook dsb. Kedepan harapannya indonesia sudah bisa membuat komponen-komponen dan mengintegrasikan dalam bentuk barang jadi melalui jalur utama SMK. Jayalah SMK, jayalah Indonesia.

Wie funktioniert unser Kunde und wie verkaufe ich erfolgreich – in fünf Schritten!

Am vergangenen Wochenende war es wieder so weit: das beliebte Vekäuferseminar „Zitrone 2“ von BROADCAST-FUTURE fand bei uns in der Hoppestrasse statt. Da wir wieder mal einen unserer P&Plerinen, Kathrin Hora,

eingeschleust haben – hier die Zusammenfassung!

Grundsätzlich ging es im Seminar des Verkaufsprofis, Alexander Zeitelhack, darum, zu lernen wie ein Kunde die Welt sieht.

Weiter geht es darum, wie  man sich als Mediaberater in dieser zu Recht findet um Radiowerbung oder auch Sounddesign erfolgreich zu verkaufen.

In fünf Schritten, alles was man zur erfolgreichen Kundenbindung wissen muss:

1. Wie kann ich mich als Verkäufer in der Kundenwelt platzieren? Ganz einfach: Glaubwürdigkeit und Kompetenz

schaffen!

2. Wie lerne ich den Kunden kennen? Recherchiere deinen Kunden und seine Branche. Lerne seine Ziele kennen. Denke wie er. Erstelle eine SWOT- Analyse!

3. Wie schärfe ich meinen Blick für das Wesentliche? Fokussieren des Problems, dann die Checkliste ablaufen und nacharbeiten, was vergessen worden sein könnte. Der heißeste Tipp ist allerdings: Versuche nichts zu verkaufen! Sonst denkst du wie ein Verkäufer und übersieht das für den KUNDEN Wesentliche.

4. Wie erarbeite ich ein Erfolgskonzept für meinen Kunden? Das oberste Prinzip hierbei lautet: Kunden wollen keine Lösungen, Kunden wollen Ergebnisse. Verkaufe deinem Kunden nicht nur dein Produkt, sondern zeige ihm, welchen Nutzen er durch dein Produkt kauft.

5. Wie erschaffe ich einen produktiven Verkaufsprozess? Bereite dich vor, erkenne die Bedürfnisse deines Kunden, achte bei den Verhandlungen darauf, herauszufinden, was der Kunde wirklich will und habe keine Angst vor der Preisfrage. Mit einer Portion Kreativität gelangt man so mit dem Kunden gemeinsam zu einer Win-Win-Situation!

So, das war mal das Wichtigste zum Thema Kundenbindung. Wir wünschen allen: Viel Erfolg!

Zuletzt auch noch eine kleine Anmerkung: Es war ein rund um tolles Seminar, das man ehrlich nicht verpassen sollte – weder als Einsteiger oder auch als alter Hase- mal so zur Auffrischung!

The ways in which technologies will evolve and touch the lives of patients in different contexts will depend on the numerous and complex ways in which ‘health systems’ interact with, shape and are in turn influenced by new science and technology. Whilst technologies and product innovation are developed in firms and research institutes that operate globally, health systems are largely nationally based. This means that new technologies, drugs and treatments may reach various sets of patients, doctors and other consumers in radically different ways.

It is also the case that there tends to be a profound gulf between researchers working on understanding innovation in life sciences and researchers of different health systems.  Thus understandings of the ways in which health systems and health innovation interact with each other are poorly understood. The seminars organised as part of this workstream aim to address this gap.

Of 80 attendees at last weeks seminar on weight and appetite management only 41 said they thought they needed to lose weight but in the post seminar evaluation 66 said they learned new strategies for eating fewer calories. 30% of respondents said they could decrease calories from alcohol and an additional 15% said they could reduce calories from other beverages. Pretty simple solutions that could have a big impact on overall calorie reduction. Remember, 3500 calories equals one pound of fat.
