The other day, I tried to post my earlier rant about blogs and their effect on SEO at Sphinn, an SEO Social Networking Site, and they rejected it. I’m actually not that bitter about the rejection itself since it’s not exactly the kind of article they usually post, but it did get me riled up. Anyone that goes on the web to learned what it takes to get their site out there, can pretty well get the information from just a few sources, but there’s this whole “Community” of bloggers and social media mavens that do nothing but post a bunch of obvious and redundant garbage like 10 Reasons to SEO or Why you must Twitter. If you’ve read one of these things, you’ve read them all. The only people that write these blogs are SEOers. They’re either trying to sell their services or make it look like they know what they’re doing. You know what though, that’s fine. They’re building their own little networking click of SEO experts, but no one is actually reading the messages but themselves.

So, if you want to know more about Search Engine Optimization, look primarily at the following sites, and that’s about all you need. http://www.wordsinarow.com/wheretogo.html, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization

You could be the best SEO in the world but unless you can convince the interviewer of this then you will never get that dream job. Whilst listing competitive keywords and their rankings on your CV is a good place to start, most employers will expect you to be able to confidently and competently discuss your knowledge, techniques and opinions at interview.

Tests will be written or verbal and are there to help them establish that you are the best person for the job.

Below is a copy of a post from http://forums.seo.ph/showthread.php?t=201. I don’t expect any Company to throw this many questions at you but you never know which ones they will ask – why not browse through them and see how many you can answer?

Before you ask, no – we don’t have the answers – however for those adept at using search engines, the answers should never be far away

1. What SEO results can you show?
2. What do you believe are important things to take into consideration when optimising a site?
3. Who do you respect in the industry?
4. What web analytics programs are you familiar with?
5. List On-Page SEO factors
6. List 5 link building techniques.
7. What is page segmentation? (Ever heard of VIPS?)
8. What’s the difference between PageRank and ToolBar PageRank?
9. What is Latent Semantic Analysis (LSI – Indexing)?
10. What is Phrase Based Indexing and Retrieval and what roles does it play?
11. What is sandbox?
12. How long does it take to get out of sandbox?
13. How can you track your rankings?
14. What services does the wordtracker offer, and how do they relate to seo?
15. What are the common factors between Google/yahoo/msn?
16. How can you keep your PPC bids from cannibalizing your search efforts on other (non pay per click) search engines?
17. What percentage of your pay per click budget should go to each search engine?
18. Does either Google Adwords or Overture work better for your particular product or service? Or, perhaps neither one is appropriate from a return on investment (ROI) perspective.
19. Give me a description of your general SEO experience.
20. Do you currently do SEO on your own sites and give me some examples.
21. Do you operate any blogs?
22. Do you currently do any freelance work and do you plan on continuing it?
23. Where do you think the SEO industry is headed?
24. What industry sites, blogs, and forums do you regularly read?
25. Have you attended any search related conferences?
26. What SEO tools do you regularly use?
27. What SEO areas are you weak and strong in, and give examples of both.
28. What areas do you think are currently the most important in organically ranking a site?
29. What kind of strategies do you normally implement for backlinks? What do you think about link buying, link bait, and other specific backlink strategies?
30. What are your thoughts on the direction of Web 2.0 technologies with regards to SEO, blogs, rss, podcasting

Should Blog comments be enabled or not? It all depends on the purpose of the Blog. Most Bloggers have a need to express their opinions and exchange thoughts. A blog with comments enabled will allow your readers to post their comments. Most Blogs allow you to adjust the settings so that you can approve them before the world sees them. In other cases, some Blogs may not require the comments to be activated. Just keep in mind that the important thing is really the purpose of the Blog. You might be surprised by the positive impact that comments enabled will do for your Blog.

On the other hand, what happens if the worst scenario in the back of your mind may happen? Somehow someone does post something totally inappropriate, rude, or insulting.

One of the most misunderstood points of Blogging is concerning your “content freshness”

One of the most misunderstood points of Blogging is concerning your
“content freshness” factors.

Content freshness: Write lots of good interesting content and post
to your Blog consistently. How often? The more often the better.
Just remember that you are writing for your readers who are pinged
when you post a new update. But you are also driving the search
engine robots wild with a blog that seems to continually have new
content on it.

Posting shorter Blog entries on a regular “hourly” basis is even
more effective than posting on a “weekly basis.” It’s not hard to
do once you understand the importance of consistency.

Coming soon! This is a rough that didn’t make the cut, but I think it is cute, and it gives you the flavour…

Regular Baroqueteers will know that, as part of my newly-hatched plan for world domination, I have spent the past two weeks working on a new PR & copywriting blog. It is not quite launched yet, as my trusty cartoonist got swine flu before she could finish my banner drawing – but it willcome, it will come. The title of the blog is Text Pixels, and today I give you my 9 Top Tips for Really Crap Blog Content.

It wasn’t easy.

Here’s a taster:

1. Blog about blogging. Better yet, why not make money running a blog about how to make money running a blog? Send your readers spinning round like headless dogs as they try to find the nugget of goodness amid all your smoke and mirrors. Write a mission statement like this one: “I am a xxx who wants to make a difference by helping other xxx’s to do just that.” (Do wha…?)

2. Make sure you have a funny word that makes no sense outside your own website. Gwyneth Paltrow’s (obviously PR-company-driven) lifestyle website is called GOOP, and is written – as I pointed out when it was started – at an 8-year-old’s reading level. (This isn’t sarcasm! I tested it for reading level.) You could be a “problogger,” or an “innerpreneur.” You should “grow” inorganic things. “Build” abstract, immaterial things. Don’t have a website, have an “Online Presence.” Use words like “craft” (the verb). Talk about “running” a blog, not “writing” it. Don’t “do” something, when you could “optimise” it instead. See Goodcopybadcopy’s list of 30 words and phrases you should stop using. Do as many of them as possible.

3. Write about how you make all your readers get past a “sign up for FREE” pop-up before they can get into your “content.” This is how you swell the numbers of your all-powerful email list, which means each hapless passerby who only wanted to read your 5 Top Tips will then be in your monetising clutches. So the very readers who are reading and admiring your methods are your willing stooges! Well done you.

4. Fill your whole blog with ads. Put an ad for your WordPress template, but customise your page so it looks really ugly. Make sure some of the ads look like completely random pictures. Then write blog posts that read like ads, all lists and tips, and readers won’t know which are the posts and which are the ads. They’ll be clicking on anything, just desperately trying to get the hell out of there, OHMIGOD, but your advertisers will pay you because it’s only the click-through they care about!

Read the rest here.

Today I have Completed 1 and 1/2 year in SEO Profession..

When I Joined SEO profession I even didn’t know about the real meaning and purpose of SEOs. There were so many questions in my mind about SEO profession, like scope of SEO, Career growth, future salaries and the most important one is whether it is a good or bad career option for me because there was nobody in my near and dear once who was related to this field and on net i have searched a lot but got different different post some +ve and some -ve, so i was just unable to decide what to do,Finally i have chosen SEO and now after 1 and 1/2 year I m very much satisfied with SEO as a career option…

At present I m working as a senior SEO in my company..

Is there some more SEO’s who have joined SEO profession with so much confusion and now at a good position with full satisfaction…

Dazu vergleicht man also bitte mal hier und danach hier.

Du kommentierst doch so gern.

Kommentar:

Umgangssprachlich nennt man dies schlichtweg Beschiss.

http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=pagerank+und+seo&btnG=Google-Suche&meta=lr%3Dlang_de&rlz=1R2GGLL_de&aq=f&oq=

http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&rlz=1R2GGLL_de&q=pagerank+und+seo&btnG=Suche&meta=lr%3D

http://www.abakus-internet-marketing.de/foren/viewtopic.php?p=581627

SEO consultants often offer services that are diversified and deal mostly with search engine optimiz

SEO consultants often offer services that are diversified and deal mostly with search engine optimization. The SEO in this case is done so that a website can receive more traffic. In many cases more traffic means more income. SEO CONSULTING is a good option for many people mainly because of two reasons. First, SEO Consultants have worked in many areas and understand what can be done and what can’t be done to create good SEO. Thre are all kinds of ways to create traffic for example, using Black Hat, Grey Hat and others. It is very important to know these particular methods in order to know how far you can go with your SEO and not get in to trouble with Google.

Also having an SEO Adviser on your side makes it easier to maintain other work you need to do. An SEO Specialist can save you allot fo time and money.

TOP SEO consultation companies ought to provide different services to the costumer at a sensible cost. The services offered by an SEO consultants usually includes keyword research and analysis together with checking for competition, working with the necessary codes and content for the site, build link popularity and website SEO maintenance for the particular site. These are the basics and mostly oriented towards Onsite SEO.

Often SEO KEYWORDS and keyword phrases will be incorporated into articles that are applicable for the site by the SEO consultant. Relevance is a key factor as is its uniqueness. Words are food for Google and Google loves “fresh food.”

Again, what Google likes is fresh and unique content. Content must also be relevant and on topic. Best SEO Services make sure that keywords are note only on target but that they are sporadically enclosed in the content.

Ok you now know that Google likes “fresh food” and you know that it has be unique and relevant. Not only does it have to unique and relevant it has to have your keywords inserted in the proper places within the content. Good SEO websites will reflect good KEYWORD SEO. If you do not want to learn search engine optimization then you ought to hire a Search Engine Optimizaton Professional.

You are allowed to use your keywords only so many times and after that it is deemed as “keyword stuffing.” This is something Google frowns upon. There are tools on the internet that will tell you your keyword density. However, a good SEO Professional will tell you how many you can actually get away with. A good Blackhat SEO person will tell how many and how you can stuff your keywords without getting into Google’s Sandbox!

Typically Whitehat SEO methods point to longevity. Links for example, produced in Whitehat fashion often last allot longer that links produced with Blackhat techniques. Greyhat with take the best of both worlds and use their techniques.

At one time it was pretty easy to do SEO. Basically all you really needed to do was add allot of content. Those days are long gone. SEO has become much more complex nowadays. If you have a good website and you really want to drive traffic to it, you are well advised to see an SEO Specialist.

Here is the formula I use regardng SEO and Google. Let’s use just one example for this purpose:

1. The more relevant, unique and interesting the content the likelier your visitor will stay on your website.

2. The longer the visitor stays the more he/she is inclined to purchase something or to contribute something.

3. The longer a visitor stays the more Google likes it. It sends a message to Google that that your website is relevant, a good source of information and perhaps an authority in that niche.

4. If visitors stay longer and your content is unique then you have a strong possibility of gaining a higher PR from Google and being indexed.

5. A higher PR from Google does not mean that you will get hordes of traffic overnight. But the higher the PR the more traffic you will get overall as your website will rank better than most in the SERPS.

If you want more in depth information on Blackhat, Greyhat and Whitehat methods for SEO and want to LEARN SEO basics. There are also sites that offer FREE SEO TUTORIALS, SEO HELP, and SEO ADVICE.

Blog Commenting for SEO DoFollow NoFollow

I know there are a ton of SEO Blogs out there and we mostly all talk about the same things. But, since SEO and Search Engines are ever-changing it’s really beneficial to read as much as you can about the topics you are interested in. Even though you run across similar blog titles, you never know who is going to offer you a bit of advice that you may not of thought of. That being the case, it’s time to talk about blog commenting.
If you are new to SEO and you want to try blog commenting for backlinks you will quickly learn that spamming the comment body with your URL is no way to get traffic or inbound links. When most people write blogs they are looking to share their knowledge on a subject, make you aware of something or share their personal stories. So, realistically they are looking for good discussions or opinions on their posts. Most people are going to delete a comment like “great blog! www.imheretospam.com”, so make sure that you only comment when you feel compelled to add something. Only comment if it adds something interesting to the post or discussion. You will come across as genuine, professional and knowledgeable and it will make your business look good as well.

When adding your URL to a blog, most of the time you will want to use the URL field in the comment form if there is one. But if you are a trusted commenter or you can word it in a way that it’s necessary to be mentioned, then by all means include the in the comment body. Most blogs use the nofollow tag anyway, so even if you put your URL in a comment it will not help you with PageRank, but it will help you with traffic. There aren’t many dofollow blogs and forums out there, you may have to get more creative and broaden your topics in order to sound relevant. But, it is best to comment within your niche and industry, it’s not going to look that great if your commenting on puppies when your trying to promote an SEO company, etc.

Hope this help. Any questions or if you have anything INTERESTING to add feel free to comment!
