All good things must end sometime, and the Great Fire War is no exception. This week, we discover the fates of Drakonnan, Yulgar, and other characters (including us heroes, of course) in the epilogue that wraps up the epic saga. Plus, it’s Talk like a Pirate Day- only one day early. A pirate shop has been released in Falconreach in commemoration of this annual event; doubloons are just itching to exchange hands.

Epilogue

About:

It’s over. Drakonnan muses over the final battle: how the fire he summoned consumed our character, how the Vanilla Ice Katana finally overwhelmed him, how he had removed his mask and leapt at us, only to fall into the lava. He’s sorry that he failed his family. As Drakonnan sinks into the lava, he recalls his kin, and how they were burnt to cinder by Akriloth’s flames. However, Nifaria greets him in the pits of the volcano. She tells him to rest, for there is much more to do. The spirit of fire then catches the Fire Orb, and offers it to Drakonnan; he knows what to do next- make us bring out our dragons. With a flash of fire and a diabolical laugh, Nifaria disappears and the pyromancer rises again.

Afterwards, upon Drakonnan’s second defeat, all the heroes gather on a mountain overlooking his lair, with Warlic in the front, his orb aloft. He could not sense the Fire Orb at all; he believes that it has been fully destroyed in the final struggle. Our character is a tad skeptical, for we thought that the Orb had been destroyed upon Akriloth’s death. Warlic states that there is no hint of its power in the mountain, and it would take something immensely powerful to conceal the Fire Orb’s presence. What was once fire has returned to it; the Blue Mage will contact Fiamme and see if she could coalesce fire into a new Orb. Until then, he hopes that the Realm of Fire in Lore is not too severely weakened.

We prepare to return to good old Falconreach, but Yulgar decides not to return with us. There is still much work that needs to be done here in the East in the aftermath of Drakonnan’s destruction. A new inn is being built, and the blacksmith intends to set up shop there. (And please escort Aria safely back to Grams in Falconreach, by the way). Our character needn’t worry; Cysero will ensure that Yulgar could return to Falconreach whenever he is needed. We wish him luck and hope to see him soon.

Just then, Zorbak comes panting and wheezing up to us. He is trying to get his throne (Drakonnan’s broken mask) back to his home in Doomwood, no thanks to us. If we lazy heroes had just helped him move the chair, he would have had the throne and the orb. As it is, every time Zorbak attempts to summon a minion to help him move the mask, our crazy paladin friend destroys it. Now the moglin necromancer expects us to pay up: we wouldn’t have gotten into Drakel-head’s lair without his help. Cysero obligingly picks up the mask, and agrees that yes, it will go great in Zorbak’s lair; he’s glad that he could repay the favor. At that, an exclamation mark appears above Zorbak’s head; with Cysero, you could only expect the unexpected.

Meanwhile, Konnan lies in manacles within Sepulchure’s fortress. Nifaria wakes him up, bidding him to get to work. He wonders where he is, then looks at the chains binding his wrists. Konnan looks up, and upon seeing Nifaria with the Fire Orb, starts to yell. The spirit of fire silences him by slamming him against a wall with a burst of fire. She has to thank him; his thirst for vengeance helped to bring down Akriloth, and enabled her to deliver his son straight into the Priestess’s hands (her own little present for the Lady). Not only had Konnan recovered the Fire Orb from Akriloth’s corpse, but he had sowed more destruction across Lore than even Xan could ever have dreamt of. At that slander against him, Xan appears in a flash of fire; he had taught the ungrateful boy everything he knows. If Konnan had listened to him, then Xan could have taken us ‘heroes’ on. Nifaria laughs; if Xan has his chance to prove himself now, for Konnan had dropped the Fire Orb directly into her hands. The first mad pyromancer cackles and disappears with the Fire Orb. Konnan then cries that the Orb was his, but Nifaria corrects him, and assumes her true form: Sepulchure. The Fire Orb belongs to him. The ex-pyromancer had drawn more power from the Fire Orb than anyone, and Sepulchure was going to take him apart piece by piece to find out how. He begins to grow in size with dark energy, and Konnan finally screams.

Far away, in the field where Akriloth’s bones still lie, Xan appears and holds the Fire Orb aloft. He uses it to reanimate Akriloth’s corpse with fire, and rides away on it, cackling in his usual way.

And so the Great Fire War ends, and new stories begin. The story of Battleon is not this one though; we’ll have to continue that in AdventureQuest.

Pros:

That was quite an ending to the Great Fire War; will it ever really end in Lore’s timeline? Maybe, but if so, it won’t be too soon.

There were no battles whatsoever in this quest, but it’s perfectly fine: the stellar cutscenes more than made up for the lack of monster-bashing. The animation of the characters was virtually flawless; very little awkward movement abounded in this quest. But what especially captured my interest was the series of flashbacks, of Drakonnan’s battle against our character, and of his late family: the scenes were very well-selected indeed. They included some clips which were never actually shown in the previous quest, but they were powerful additions to the poignancy of the memories. For instead of focusing on Konnan’s destructive madness, we got to see where his true grief lay, and how his own ultimate failure traumatized him, like it should for any villain worth his salt. That was what was missing from last week’s quest. And of course, there was the plot-twist: Sepulchure masquerading as the Avatar of Fire. It was (startlingly enough, for we are supposed to be the good guys) a great relief to see the Doomknight back in action again, and manipulating events behind the scenes as well (accompanied by some catchy music). At the same time, we actually got to pity Konnan, for now we know that the pyromancer had truly fallen, and was facing a nasty end at Sepulchure’s hands. This was a very interesting way to wrap up the Great Fire War, since most of us had expected a peaceful ending that mirrored AQ’s own a few years ago.

Cons:

There were only two technical details that I have to whinge about: the bug in Yulgar’s new shop, and the initial music accompanying the cutscenes. As soon as we entered the blacksmith’s forge (still manned by the bearded orb) and click on the Fire War icon, we were taken to an alternate shop with Yulgar and Oishii present… and our character with our back turned to them. It was a little odd, considering how it would have been rather easy to simply have both NPCs present as soon as we entered the shop, and a bit amusing to see the blacksmith addressing our backs. Another point worth mentioning is the monotony of the first song that played over the cutscenes; it was moving at first, but after a minute or so, it started to sound a little stale. Kudos to the team for coming up with a new song, but I still preferred the music that played at Demento’s fall in Flashpoint.

And now we come to the plot details, personally my favorite part of the review (it’s the picking apart of the story that I enjoy, not antagonizing the team, just to be clear). Sepulchure had pulled off a serious shocker by disguising himself as Nifaria, the Spirit of Fire, but allow me to ask this question: was it really within his ability as a Doomknight, under the control of the Necrotic Blade of Doom and an unknown master? To be able to command the forces of fire without the Fire Orb, or any other obvious talisman, was an impressive feat… and perhaps a little to the implausible side. As far as we know, Sepulchure was a man attuned to pure darkness; or was his master a being with multiple elements at his disposal? If that was the case, then why hadn’t Sepulchure used the different elements at his command (so to speak) against us in earlier clashes? The elevation of the Doomknight from a mere villain of darkness to an at least dual-elemental being was a bit sudden, and rather unexplained. Then there was the reappearance of Xan; I can understand why they wish to give him a co-starring role in the epilogue of the Great Fire War, but that took away the logical reason as to why he was there. If he was in cahoots with Sepulchure from the first place, then why did he seek out Zorbak, of all people, to help us, when he conceivably could have had the Doomknight crush Drakonnan straightaway? And why would Sepulchure trust him with the Fire Orb to reanimate Akriloth’s corpse, without any apparent constraints to keep him under his control? If I was him, I certainly wouldn’t trust a scheming and mentally-unstable pyromancer with such a terrible power; I would have kept the Fire Orb with me next to my NBoD at all times, and insisted that Konnan reveal the Orb’s secrets right there and then. But then again, I’m not Sepulchure, nor am I the development team in charge of the plot. I only hope that a rational explanation awaits to answer my queries.

Grade:

Dramatic and touching, with a twist that really shook it all up. This quest (for lack of better term) receives an impressive 9/10.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

About:

A new shop has opened up in Falconreach a day before the annual Talk Like a Pirate Day. Powerful water weapons from levels 13 to 50 (13-41 for non-DAs), along with some hard-hitting Pirate Monkee pets from levels 10 to 50, are available for a hefty sum of gold.

Pros:

As I had stated, the new weapons and pets proved to be quite powerful for their level, and are very welcome to the backpacks of adventurers, for strong water weapons were sorely missed in DF. In addition, the weapons were very well-designed according to the theme of the ocean and sea-foam; perfect for Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Cons:

Unfortunately, unless one already had a large sum of gold at their disposal, or if Ballyhoo’s available, the weapons and pets would have to remain out of reach for a while: they were pretty expensive for their levels. And, at least to this reviewer, providing a shop full of weapons may not exactly be the best way to celebrate such a renown AE event (though then again, other holidays such as the Fourth of July and Mother’s Day followed the same pattern). At least an appearance by Captain Rhubarb, with a sort of activity ready with the weapons and pets as prizes, would have been appreciated.

Grade:

We get a shop full of great, though expensive, items… and not too much else. This portion of the release earns a 7/10 from me, considering the fact that it is only a shop to commemorate the holiday.

Final Grade of the Release

Alas, it is goodbye to the epic Great Fire War (for we’ll have to continue it in AdventureQuest), and hello to the salty gear of Talk Like a Pirate Day. With all things considered, this week’s release deserves an 8.5/10.

And now, another! No worries folks, I’m almost done with my DF blogging, so you don’t have to worry about dealing with me for much longer. Now.. Who wants to.. Terminate?

I Am De Fightuhnatuh! (Ex Machina)

About

With the war in Popsprocket almost ready, things are almost ready to begin. However, not without some more.. Interesting parodies. While planning the war with Yix, you are visited by a Cyklon from the future named Dave v384.16 Dave is from a future where Cyklons have replicated and taken over almost all of Lore. He intends to stop them from terminating all life. With help from you, he makes it to Sepulchure and taunts him into wanting ALL Cyklons dead. He is destroyed, sadly, but not without.. Starting a war. What a great legacy.

Pros

Well, the obvious Terminator reference was very nice. I loved it, at least. xD The cinematics, riding to Sepulchure’s fortress and Dave’s death, were also nice additions, and added some depth to the quest. Good to see some extra content to liven up the war a little. The rewards, powerful Disease weapons, were also nice to see.

Cons

While this was a good release, it was lacking in a few areas. It seemed almost completely random to add something like this, even when it was a reference to the Terminator franchise. The cinematics made it difficult to farm the quest for the weapon you wanted, which was bothersome. But oh well, not too big a deal.

Grade

Pretty good quest, I must say, and rather funny. Good rewards too. 7.5/10

Fishing.. For Brains? (DoomWood Fishing)

About

Time for another nice, refreshing fishing trip down at.. Doomwood? Yepp, that’s right folks. Doomwood is now a prime fishing spot for everyone, sporting more than 40 new fish and 10 new fishing ranks! So grab your lycan-proof fishing boots, and get out there!

Pros

Well, there was a lot for this new fishing expansion. Forty new fish, ten new fishing ranks, and even some new temporary items for use in combat if you catch em! The art for this zone was great, as was the huge diversity of new fish. From Scythefish, to Pillfins, to the infamous King Crabcake, there was a lot to see in Doomwood.

Cons

Well, this area was DA-Only. And with the low points on the original fishing hole, it’ll take some people forever to reach the new Rank 30. The fish tank can also get a wee bit crowded, what with all of the 40 or so fish it has in there.

Grade

Though it is DA-Only, it is a nice new addition to the fising family, and to the temporary item family that is growing to be a great addition to battle. Why, it’s a 9/10.

Eat the Mushroom Mario.. (Slushroom Princess)

About

At last! A Super Mario parody! Ash is once again on the search for royal blood to deliver from evil, and here we are! After fighting through hordes of evil mushrooms and turtles and making to to the cstale of the evil Browser, Ash succeeds.. In not finding the princess, who is in another castle. Whoops. =P However, after running from the original Princess (Who ate a powerful flower to come back to human form, and was wreaking havoc on Ash for all the times he kissed her), Ash comes across he armor of a deceased warrior. Since it’s in good shape, he dons it, and gets a cool new look.

Pros

Yay! A Mario parody, at long last! I’m suprised that it took AE this long to create one, but it is good to see it in an AK quest. The quest was well done and funny, from the cool castle of Bowser, to the revival of th efirst princess with a power flower. Needless to say, a new look for Ash is great, and the offensive boost he can get is also a great bonus.

Cons

This was a rather difficult quest, what with the annoying Slushrooms all over the place. I often found myself running low on HP and MP, what with all the times I and my other character missed. And Ash.. Whay are you putting on a dead guy’s armor?!

Grade

Great quest, and Ash’s new art is great! I can’t wait to see his actual ArchKnight armor. 8.5/10

Free Ranged Ch.. Warriors? (Evolved Chickencow Armor)

About

Well, after a few weeks of expectation, the new CCA was released! It was in the merge shop for the required materials, and also in Cysero’s Superstore of Savings for 500 DC’s. It features a new sprig of golden leaves, like those given to Greek heroes!

Pros

Well, it’s good to see the ECCA finally released. The new additions to the armor are very nice, and complete the theme of being a Chickencow. It has some beautifully animated and powerful skills, and is a pretty good reward for the Bacon quest chain.

Cons

All that said.. The armor sucks. It’s just the normal CCA with a sprig of golden leaves on top, and some lackluster skills. Quite a few are elementized, and many are just not worth the time you put into getting the armor. I suppose ot’s better than the original, but not at all what was expected.

Grade

While it did have some obvious and very large problems, I still have love in my heart for the Chickencow armor. Thus, I will bless it with 7/10.

Final Grade of Release

With all that came this week, it was a great release. Fishing, a build up to the Popsprocket war, and even a new armor. This was a pretty good week, and so it gets an 8/10.

Well, with a teaser of a release the week before this, it’s time for.. WAR! Absolix gotta get beat down!

Can’t We All Just Get Along? (Absolix Triumphant!)

About

Well, here we are. The teaser cut-scene of last week has prepared us for an all out attack on Absolix’s forces. Absolix, the Mutant King, and Visia have all met in front of Absolix’s very nice home, a castle surrounded by a lava moatA short altercation between the MK and Absolix ends with the MK’s soul being melted, and him being unmade. Now, it’s time for the great battle. Absolix has brought back some of the most wicked villains in Lore’s history, with a few special cases added in! Sepulchure, Kingadent Slugwrath, a slew of Shadowscythe pilots, the deceiver Epheel, the Great Fire Dragon Akriloth, King Malinius, the Scrapyard (An evil version of Dr. Voltabolt), and Narrviz, a powerful energy mage! All of these baddies took charge of powerful forces, and began Absolix’s attack. After grouping in an area north of No Man’s Land, you and your valiant friends managed to push back the forces of each general’s force, as well as the replicas themselves. Then.. You faced Absolix. Needless to say, this was one battle you lost. In the process, Absolix revealed that making replicas of the great villains was a mistake. He’d have to try for something more.. Original! For now, at least, Absolix is pushed back. Bit I fear what he’ll bring next..

Pros

This war was very well done indeed. The battles and backgrounds were varied very well, so boredom never became a factor, and it wasn’t too terrible a farming place either. The art, from the multiple backgrounds in the war, to Absolix on the battlefield, to his amazing home, was breathtaking, and really did justice to such a grand war event. In addition to all of this, some great new weapons came as rewards. These were suped up magical versions of the Guardian weapons. Each fight, it randomly picks the strength of one of the general’s of the war. This decides its element, and the bonuses it has. There were also two armor released. Soul Melts in honor of your encounter with Absolix, for Z-Tokens. Very nice indeed.

Cons

As always, there are negatives to this release. Firstly, the war bosses. Most of these are well-known baddies, but some just seem like filler. Malinius, Epheel, Narrviz.. All of these are enemies that only the most devoted of AQ pkayers would know of, and even then, they don’t seem like the “greatest villains” type. In fact, Malinius didn’t even have his own art, he was merely rendered as a simple Ice Knight. In addition to all this I am underwhelmed by the rewards. The staves are a suped up version of the Guardian Staff, which is not a good thing. It’s actually negative, since you always gamble on what you’ll get, from battle to battle. I also don’t like the fact that a mega war like this only has rewards for mages. True, I am a hybrid, but it’s dissapointing to those warriors who fought.

Final Grade of Release

Though this release did have a few negative aspects that brought it down, it was still very well done. This truly showcased much of Absolix’s power, as well as giving even more insight into who and what he is. I loved this war event, and I am pleased to give it 8.5 OMG He Melted My Soulez, Out of 10.

Ah, we have a normal routine now! Well, almost. The contest should be ready… This week, perhap

Ah, we have a normal routine now! Well, almost. The contest should be ready… This week, perhaps. In the mean time, while I enjoy my Requiem for a Dream, let us critique the DF release for this week! Popsprocket has been expanded even more, with a weapon shop, two new quests, and a Zeuster quest as well! All in all, there are 18 new weapons, and a new helm! Here we go!

Popguns (Popsprocket)

About

Well, now that you and Yix have a back door into Popsprocket, he has a plan with which to cripple the Cyklon forces. Inside one of the many gnomish store houses, where a huge amount of gnomish technology is kept, there are two things Yix can use. The Sparklane Sapper, which drains electrical and magical energy from energy cells, and the Rapidfreeze Sample Saver, which freezes stuff. With both of these, he can make a gun that can easily take down Cyklons. After fighting through many Mechagryphons to reach the sight, you find it… And by it, I mean an empty crater. The entire warehouse has been carried off. How? Who else has the might and size required to lift such a huge thing? Our good old friend… Sepulchure. After being absent for quite a while, he and his skeletal army are ready to take the energy orb, and kill you in the process if they can. We still wonder who the mysterious master of Seppy and the Doom Blade is, why they need us, and why the orbs are so important. Only time will tell…

Pros

This quest was very, very good. Great story, which really revealed the future of Popsprocket, and something of the nature of Sepulchure and his master. It was interesting to see just how dark Sepulchure is, and just how deeply his hatred for Good and light is. The mechagryphons were animated brilliantly as well, and made a great addition to our enemy’s ranks. The art for Popsprocket was just as good as that for Dragesvard, if not better. There was a nice little bauble of a helm that dropped as well.

Cons

This quest was somewhat easy, and seemed a throwback to the first days of Dragesvard. Also, the only drop that was available was a DA-only helm. Still, both of these are only minor quips.

Grade

While it did lack somewhat in content, this quest was very good indeed, introducing Sepulchure as a major character once again. With a great looking Popsprocket, a new helm, and my little Seppy back, I give this 8 Cyklon freezing popguns, out of 10.

The Weapon Shop (Popsprocket)

While this may not be a quest or anything, I still feel the need to include it in the post. This week, the first of the Popsprocket buildings was opened: the weapons shop. This shop included some brilliantly animated weapons, from steam-powered swords, to rulers used to channel magical energies. There were six weapons available for DA holders, and three available for free players. Don’t worry though guys, this is only half of the goodies we got this release!

Investigate (Popsprocket)

About

Once again, we find ourselves assisting Zapp with his Pen Pal. He has been invited to join Snou (CoughFuturamaCough) at her home to the south. He doesn’t want to abandon his friends though, what with all the recent Cyklon attacks, so you are the only man for the job. Snou’s house is an amazingly complex example of the DF houses. Almost every collectible, from posters, to figurines, to weapons, to statues, are on display, and for some odd reason, living creatures as well. When you reach Snou you find that she collects… Pen Pals! You swiftly kick her large Amazonian backside, and free the captured people. Whew, close call for Zapp!

Pros

Like the last quest in the chain, quite funny. This quest also took advantage of house items completely. This really added depth to the quest, and was a great use of the housing system other than the obvious. quests like this also help to give some flesh and bone to Popsprocket, and are very good indeed.

Cons

None really. Quests like these don’t have to have rewards, whether people whine about it or not. The enemies were actually on a fairly good difficulty curve, which made this quest not as easy as normal.

Grade

A short and sweet quest was this. Easy, fun, and good for Popsprocket. Other towns need small side chains like this to spice up the mundane aspects that are so abundant. So, another well done quest, earning an easy 7.5 Snou-Snou’s, out of 10.

(Mino)Torture (Zeuster Quest)

About

Once more, we have to help this huge bird fulfill his ego troubles by beating up another monster. This time, Zeuster has been taunted by a Minotaur, who claims that he isn’t strong or agile enough to make his way through the labyrinth. Oh great, now we have to defend his honor. Yay. Needless to say, you trek into the labyrinth, which is actually quite unique. It’s the Lymcrest Labyrinth with a new twist: Portals. Scattered across all the rooms are purple rings of energy that will transport you through space and time to another room in the maze. After navigating these portals and the enemies around them, you make your way into the room containing the Minotaur Tauros. After facing down the tough boss, you find out that he only wanted to find someone powerful enough to break the shackles of green stone that have bound him for so long. Oh well. He learned his lesson.

Pros

This quest, and most of the others before it, are all excellently done. At first I thought it would only be a short one to two quest chain, but it has evolved into far more than that. It is now a great chain full of laughs, and the Greek myths they are based on compliment the game perfectly. The boss was animated beautifully, and looked very good for an evil bull . There were a great number of weapons from this quest, from low level to high, and most of them were available for everyone.

Cons

The maze was somewhat long, and it could be very annoying to do it multiple times just to get one drop. However, this was the only quip at the quest I have.

Grade

With great rewards, enemies, mechanics, and story, this quest shines very brightly indeed. I give this release 9 Shackles of Radioactive Green Stuff, Out of 10!

Final Grade of Release

This week, as well as last week, was huge. AE has been working very hard indeed, and it shows in releases like this. We have advancements to multiple stories, great new mechanics to the game, amazingly drawn enemies, and great rewards for the entirity of the DF community. I am very pleased with this week, and it shines as one of the best DF weeks in quite a while. I am pleased to give this release 9 Flying Dracolich Fortresses, out of 10!

Shadowfall

About

Remember last week’s release, when Drakath made the flying fortress crash? Yeah, this is the aftermath. Sepulchure’s daughter, Gravelyn, has taken the leadership of the Shadowscythe. One of her undead guards has a shop for those of you who chose to be evil (psst… at the moment you can redo chapter 1 and change your alignment), and there is a new quest for members, where you fetch Sepulchure’s armor for his daughter.

Pros

There are a few new items in the evil shop, there are 2 new enemies, a new word I’m assuming we will be seeing a lot (chaorrupted), and a new quest. One cool feature that probably normally would go unnoticed is the fact that Gravelyn has different dialogue depending on your alignment (good or evil).

Cons

No new items for good people (unless you switch your alignment and switch back), and the quest wasn’t very long. The

Grade of Release: 7/10 Nothing outstanding here really. The release felt more like a big mini-release than a true release, but apparently big releases may be coming every 2 weeks rather than every week.

From the Design Notes:

It seems that is takes us two weeks to put together the quality and size of releases that we want to make for you in AQWorlds.

We’ll just have to wait til next week to see the big release, I suppose.

This release has the first chapter of the story, as well as holiday items for Friday the 13th and Valentine’s day!

The Story: Chapter 1

About

SPOILERS ALERT

You enter through the portal in front of Swordhaven, only to discover that… it’s under attack by Sepulchure’s forces! You fight through undead, making your way to the castle. You enter the throne room, and watch Sepulchure and King Alteon duke it out, when all of a sudden Drakath flies in! He knocks Alteon and Sepulchure down with ease, and you are given the choice of good and evil… after you choose, Drakath kills Sepulchure, and knocks down Sepulchure’s flying fortress, with Sepulchure’s daughter in it. Drakath says that the between good and evil is over… it is now the age of chaos!

END SPOILERS

Pros

The story is truly beginning now, and we finally begin to make our choice between good and evil. Plus, new items! Members can get the once rare ‘Red Cape’, one of the few plain capes.

Cons

Almost all of the new items in this release are member only. ALL BUT ONE. The only new free item is the Burn It Down staff. Also, The only way to get to invasion now is through /join, so a person can’t get Paladin unless they already knew about invasion.

Grade of Release: 9/10 It’s awesome that the story is finally truly beginning, but if a few flaws were fixed, this release could have been perfect.

Friday the 13th/Valentine’s Day

About

This release was on Friday the 13th! But, wait, what’s this? Valentine’s day is the day right afterwards? Oh my! In AQW, the two holidays were combined into one in the form of a shop. The shop contains items such as the hockey stick of Jaysun and the hat of Big Daddy from Dragonfable. The Frostval season shop has finally disappeared, as well.

Pros

I like the Friday the 13th items quite a lot, but… the Valentines day items not so much. This can’t be helped for me though since I despise the color pink…

Cons

All the other AE games have quests for AE games before you get to the shop, but AQWorlds mysteriously doesn’t.

Grade of Release: 6/10 The holiday that is usually celebrated with a good amount of content in the other games was reduced to a shop in AQWorlds… a bit disappointing, but the items are still nice. Nothing too special, though.

Overall Grade of Release: 8.5/10 This release overall was pretty good, but there were a few flaws init.

This week’s minor release introduced oodles of minor releases, including initiative, level 30

This week’s minor release introduced oodles of minor releases, including initiative, level 30 house mecha and Sepulchure upgrades, the death of the Newbatron strategy, and some various buffs and nerfs throughout enemy stats.

Level 30 House Mecha/Sepulchure Upgrades

About

The house mecha and Sepulchure received level 30 upgrades, with nothing but normal base stat and default weapon upgrades. No new specials or cool features were introduced with either of these mecha.

Pros

Nice to see the major mecha getting the appropriate level 30 upgrades in due time.

Cons

I can’t help but feverishly wish Sepulchure would stop being upgraded because of its complete disgrace to balance in MechQuest, even though I know it won’t ever happen.

Grade of Release

9.0/10. Yes, there was no chance in hell Sepulchure wouldn’t be upgraded, but I’d still like to see it stop being upgraded, and so every time it does get uprated I will automatically deduct a point. Yes, I’m evil. Scrap evil. *evil laugh*

Newbatron Cheat Strategy Removal

About

At long last, the strategy *wince* of equipping the level 1 Newbatron with high-level weapons to dominate past scaled quests has finally been removed, instead taking the average of the level of your mecha and the highest level weapon equipped and making that variable the level of the enemy you face. This was implemented to keep players from mowing through quests they aren’t man enough to beat fairly, and pretty much forces players to use their best setup to beat quests, scaled or not.

Pros

Everything. Everything. Yesyesyesyesyes. DO NOT R.I.P., newbatron cheat. This is just awesome. It upgrades this mini-release to Chuck Norris status, I don’t care how small it was (although it was fairly large for a minor release). This is the best thing evar.

Cons

Cons? Hah, don’t be silly.

Grade of Release

/10. ‘Nuff said.

Initiative

About

Enemies now have a certain chance to make the first move in a battle, whereas before we the player always acted first. We still have the upper edge in the odds and can be increased much further training luck or reflex, but enemies will act first some of the time, and it’s something we will have to account for in future battles.

Pros

This definitely evens the playing field a ton with enemy battles, and it adds a lot more realism to fights. I love how you can increase your odds by training luck and reflex as well.

Cons

I’m still torn as to whether this should have been implemented at all. One turn influences a battle so so much, and having the enemy start first can easily change the tide of the battle tremendously. It completely removes any consistency with battles when one battle you go first and dominate and the next the enemy goes first and you lose. Also, luck getting another major booster to its long list of buffs is starting to make it seem overpowered, and I am worried that is currently the case.

Grade of Release

8.0/10. Not sure where I’m leaning with this release, so I’m just sticking in the middle for now. We’ll see how it ultimately works out.

Battle Scaling/Universo Changes

About

To compensate for the difficulty-altering initiative addition, AE has reduced the health of all enemies level 24 and below. In addition, hard and extreme battle modes were buffed significantly to truly give the hard-core player a challenge to depend on. The Universo boss fight has also been changed: After death, you return to the fight you are on instead of starting back at the beginning.

Pros

Pretty much everything, here. Big props to AE for figuring out the Universo death issue and fixing it in a timely manner, and the buffs and nerfs seem very appropriate and fit.

Cons

*left blank for a reason*

Grade of Release

10.0/10. Coolio foshoolio. This is what gets the job done: Minor changes that add up in a big way.

Overall Grade of Release

9.5/10. Yes, yes, and yes. This is what a mini-release is supposed to look like. Nothing glamorous, just essential changes to the game that add up and make a huge differenece. It’s one of those releases that really hits me in a way that makes me know AE really does care about the future and isn’t just focused on releasing big, shiny things without the foundations for them *stares long and hard at AQWorlds, then stares some more, with a slight snarl being heard in the distance*. Well done, AE.

Hope you enjoyed this on-time analysis!

Is this nearly a month late? Err, yes, but let’s forget about that for now and reminisce over 2008: The Year That Was. Let’s face it: In 2008, MechQuest underwent extreme evolution and progress, being the first full year of complete development. There were ups, there were downs, there was good, there was bad, and yes, there was ugly *looks at Alamonia Bug Disaster*. But the journey AE took during 2008 was a memorable experience throughout, and I am happy to stay I experienced it in action with them. But enough silly talk. Without further ado, I present you with the 5 best and worst releases of 2008. (Note: You’ll notice some of the “releases” listed aren’t really releases but features that have been implemented and built up over time. Just bear with me here. )

Best Releases

1. Mecha Combat System Evolution. This is something I’ve gone over many times and its one of MechQuest’s biggest strengths. Simply put, MechQuest has gone from a DF-like battle system to one which far surpasses even that of AdventureQuest’s deep combat system, and it is one which has multiple dimensions and strategies too numerous to count. There are so many factors one must consider when developing an appropriate battle strategy: mecha selections (dependent on health, energy, energy regeneration, and now immobility resistance, a very important but never underestimated factor), stuns, DoTs, bonus damages, damage buffs, enemy damage nerfs, cooldown-increasers, energy drainers, healing weapons, immobility buffs, enemy immobility nerfs, combos, the list goes on and on. Furthermore, we are starting to see a taste of enemy strategy as well. While still very raw, underdeveloped and not particularly strong, enemy strategy/AI is starting to surface in some forms, and it’s great to see.
Link to full post.

2. Tweak Week. I’m probably going to get criticism for putting this so high, but Tweak Week was one of the most important and beneficial to MechQuest. Serving as MQ’s mini-sweep, Tweak Week rebalanced the costs of all mecha currently in the game to much lower costs, and by doing this, I am sure AE has gained tons and tons of new players who would have otherwise been turned off by the extraordinarily high mecha prices (caused by players coming off the dropship with mass credits). Mecha prices returned to normal levels, and had this adjustment not been made, we would have looked at a much, much more unbalanced and unattractive game.
Link to full post.

3. Dragonoid War With ShadowScythe. Simply put, this war was the best MechQuest had ever seen. I won’t drone on and on about the incredible achievements this war accomplished: An amazingly deep and superb plot/storyline (with an absolutely jaw-dropping ridiculous ending cutscene), implementation of Valor Badges (MechQuest’s war motivation similar to DF’s Defender Medals, a MUCH-needed permanent implementation), enemies which advanced enemy strategy/AI with perfect difficulties, a Rec Room (which immensely improved NPC interactivity, also an issue that needed major addressing), and the overall polish that makes releases shine.
Link to full post (beginning of war).
Link to full post (end of war).

4. Stats. I think we sometimes take for granted how well stats were implemented into MechQuest, because it is NOT an easy task to accomplish, and if done incorrectly, can be devastating to a game’s battle system. Thankfully, AE just flat-out did stats perfectly, something they showed they weren’t always capable of doing *looks at DragonFable*. It’s a good problem when the player looks at the possible stats to train and can’t discount any of them from the start, and is forced to make some excruciating decisions on which stats to train and how to allot the points. A very important battle strategy feature done right.
Link to full post.

5. Mogloween. Not often do we see AE combine holiday events and wars into one. But this was the exception, and boy was it a good one. This event was most well-known for being the first true attempt at adding war motivation to wars. While the attempts ultimate success was debatable, the fact that AE put out a first try was commendable, and it did somewhat accomplish the task of motivating players to participate. The plot was superb and a fantastic Mogloween starter for MechQuest, with a whole battlefield and progressive clues leading the way. The enemies were amazing as always, and the music put the cherry on top. A difficult but strategic and beatable boss fight tacked onto two new mecha rewards (one of which was very well-created and strategized) completed an all-around magnificent effort.
Link to full post (beginning of war). Link to full post (end of war).

Worst Releases

1. Alamonia Bug Invasion (Disaster). If you know me well, you’ll most certainly know how I feel on the (henceforth named) Alamonia Bug Disaster. To put it bluntly, I HATED it. Despised it. I wish I could stab it everywhere and anywhere and send it to the depths of AE hell. The enemies were simple, basic, and without any specials, resistances, or strategy of any sort. The timing was just awful for too many reasons to state, and the ultimate overall plot relationship was… well, there wasn’t any. In fact, it was so awful and so little people participated in it that AE had to help us out… twice, the second ending the war extremely early after AE realized their huge mistake. There honestly wasn’t a single thing AE did right with this release, and for that it is rewarded with the award of being the worst release of 2008. Congratz? Link to full post (if you dare). Oh fine, here is the real full post. I couldn’t resist.

2. Star Captain Crisis. I’m fairly certain CCL will be analyzing this in depth sometime soon, so I won’t go into it too much. A quick summary: Star Captains don’t get their money’s worth, and still don’t over a year into development. In fact, I would still argue that buying $20 worth of Nova Gems is a better deal than buying a $20 Star Captainship. The one thing that Star Captains supposedly get over everyone else is better equipment/mecha, but of course everything Star Captains get is outclassed by Nova Gems (which is subsequently outclassed by Sepulchure, but that’s another story). There are hardly enough side attractions (starships, difficulty choice, one permanent SC-only quest, a few SC-only extra abilities, and extra mecha slots, NOT a compelling argument) to warrant getting a Star Captain upgrade, and there needs to be more substance. This is an issue that is really gaining steam because of how long we Star Captains have had to wait for true benefits and extra features, and over the course of 2008 nothing major was done in this department.
No relevant posts yet.

3. Mass Dice Rolls/Reputation. Too much of anything is bad. It doesn’t take much of dice rolls/reputation to make too much. AE stretched the rubber band so far as to break it twice (something only Chuck Norris was able to accomplish) with mass dice rolls and reputation littering MechQuest, a sight that we can only hope to see slow down immensely in the future. Look, a dice roll here and a reputation quest there isn’t the end of the world and would provide a nice diversion from other quests. But with the tons of jobs with dice rolls, Westion populated with reputation, and even the moon joining the club, there isn’t anywhere you can safely look without seeing dice rolls or reputation. It’s a fairly awful way of slowing down your MechQuest career (with a questionable Flash RNG), and its forcing of extreme repetitiveness and tediousness was, and still remains one of MechQuest’s biggest issues thus far. The relative absence of these monsters in Zargon is pleasing, now the task will be to continue to stay away.
Somewhat relevant post (discussing a possible solution to dice rolls, a determination bonus).

4. Mysterious Johnson Emporium/War. Look, the invention of Mysterious Johnson wasn’t a bad idea, and he is a popular character and representative of MechQuest. My issue was with the absolute ridiculous repetitiveness of his emporium and the seemingly pointless war involving him. The Mysterious Emporium job area place is the epitome of tediousness and repetitiveness, and it is a heart-derailing, slow, boring trek to the end. There are some nice parts of the emporium (the interactivity, new mecha rewards, and overall ending was nice) but the leadup to it was just… UGH. The Mysterious War didn’t fare much better, with a terrible start and an only slightly better ending. A bad marketing ploy (player-based war meter) and no real boss monster were huge downers. The fact that this led into the Mysterious Stranger and Sepulchure additions (discussed in detail next) didn’t help. We still haven’t seen any connections to anything else in MechQuest from this war, and imo, it was overall the second-worst MechQuest war (you should know by now which was first).

5. Sepulchure/Mysterious Stranger Addition. I won’t delve too deep into this, because I already made a post regarding it. In summary: AE made a gigantic mistake adding both the Mysterious Stranger and Sepulchure, both DragonFable unique staples, to MechQuest. I’m surprised Cysero and Co. allowed it, and they feel completely out of place in a game where they don’t belong.

6. Alamonia Bug Disaster. You say I’ve already put this on the list, at #1 no less? Bah, nonsense. The sheer awfulness of this release requires it to be mentioned not once, but TWICE, expanding the laws I set forth at the beginning of the post. Too bad, deal with it.
Hah, you think I’m actually going to link to the Bug Disaster analysis AGAIN? Doing it once was bad enough…

And there you have it, a nice, tidy list of the best and worst releases of 2008. It was an amazing year, and 2009 is shaping up to be even better (and crazier). Thanks for reading!

Previous Guides:
None

This post will begin a series that will go on for a long time to come, where I will analyze popular mechs. The format I am using here is subject (and likely) to change, so bear with me while I determine the best format.

Mecha Analysis

Health: Below Average

Sepulchure may have many strengths. Health is definitely not one of them. Its health usually ranks near the bottom of its level category. While never being at rock bottom, its health is certainly below normal.

Energy: Below Average

Sepulchure’s energy follows the same trend as its health: not up to par. Its never the worst, but it can not claim it is on par with other same-leveled mechs either.

Energy Regeneration: Average

When dealing with energy regeneration, there are usually three main variables: The first has the lowest energy regeneration and a few mechs inherit this category. The second has the average energy regeneration where most mechs inherit this category. And then the third houses the above average energy regeneration, holding a few mechs of its own. Sepulchure falls right in the average category, having the same energy regeneration as most other mechs in its level categories.

Bonuses: Superb

Bonuses really only means immobility resistance or stat bonuses, and while Sepulchure has no stat bonuses (which isn’t such a big deal), its 80 immobility resistance is a force to be reckoned with, and is mostly unmatched throughout the game.

Overall: Average

What really saves Sepulchure is its 80 immobility resistance, which in the current game environment, is a fantastic attribute to hold. Its flailing health and energy is what holds it back, and its energy regeneration is on par.

Weapon Analysis

Front Arm – Doomblade: Superb

Sepulchure’s default weapons have no weaknesses whatsoever, and the FA Doomblade is no exception. With excellent average damage and four potential specials (of which one will almost always be activated), the Doomblade is a fantastic weapon. Chances of a high DoT, bonus damage (150%), getting a high chance to do a critical (200%), and a health drain in its arsenal, the Doomblade is nothing short of a magnificent weapon.

Back Arm – Bone Fist: Superb

This weapon, which of course does maximum damage for its level like the others, has a relatively high chance to inflict a great special on its enemy: -30% boost and bonus for two turns. Ultimately, that equals 60% less damage per turn for two turns, so 120% total damage is taken away from enemy attacks. That is pretty sick, and with a 50/50 chance of it going off + great damage, the Bone Fist is another solid addition to the Sepulchure mecha.

Front Shoulder – Doom Portal: Superb

This one is pretty simple: Guaranteed 11-19 DoT for 3 turns. Every time you use it. With a three-turn cooldown on top, an extra 11-19 damage can easily be done using this weapon, and that adds up a lot. In fact, factoring in its auto DoT, the weapon’s damage range, 85-129 (or 107 average) is clearly in a league of its own for front shoulders, with second place a massive 45 average damage behind.

Back Shoulder – Fluffy: Superb

Sure, this weapon is unmatched in the back shoulder slot in damage (only tied). How about its better than 50% chance of doing 200% damage? Yikes. Adding in its special, this weapon actually can do an average of 124 damage, more than half the time Fluffy is used. If that isn’t enough to entice you into worshipping this weapon, then I don’t know will.

Head – Doom Boost: Superb

Thus begins the buffing weapons. This one, quite simply, while not doing any immediate damage, increases your damage by 50% for four turns. 4 turns of 50% extra damage = 200% total damage. Subtracting the 100% damage you miss out on the turn when you use the Doom Boost, your ending bonus is 100% more, or an entire extra attack (which can be compounded by damage-increasing specials on other weapons). One word: Win.

Body – Doomknight Armor: Superb

I wish there was a “totally uber” rating, because this weapon totally deserves it. In addition to increasing your defense by 75% for four turns (which is incredibly powerful all on its own), it also increases your own damage (in the form of bonus) by 25% for five turns. Time for some math. 75% defense for 4 turns = 300% total damage (on average, considering the odds hold up and every 3 of 4 attacks are completely blocked) your opponent is stopped from doing. Then 25% exra damage for 5 turns = 125% total extra damage you will do to your opponent. Overall, 300% less damage taken + 125% more damage done – 100% damage you lose from using the weapon = 325% more health than your opponent than you would have had if you didn’t use the attack. ‘Nuff said.

Overall: Superb

I would say this was a no-brainer, but because even that’s so obvious I’ll keep it to myself. Sepulchure’s default weapons truly have no weaknesses, with each and every weapon in seemingly a league of its own.

Strategy

Honestly, if you are fortunate enough to own this mecha, all you really need to do is just blindly click at the screen and you will be absolutely, totally fine. However, since this section is here and there are ways to truly maximise your performance with this powerhouse, I’ll list the one I find most useful now.

Body – Doomknight Armor

Head – Doom Boost

Front Shoulder – Doom Portal

Back Shoulder – Fluffy

Front Arm – Doomblade

Back Arm – Bone Fist

Whatever You Want

Whatever You Want

If the enemy isn’t dead yet, make sure you’re still playing MechQuest.

Now for my explanations:

This should be obvious: An attack that will automatically guarantee that in five turns you will have 325% more health than your enemy than had you not used it makes using the Doomknight Armor, very well the most powerful attack in the game, an easy opening call.

I understand that using two non-attacking weapons n the first two turns may put you in an early hole (although with the 75% defense, there shouldn’t be much of a hole at all). However, the additional 50% extra damage per turn, when combined with the 25% extra damage from turn 1 to make 75% total extra damage per turn, is a crazy powerful combo, and when using weapons right next with specials that can pile on more damage, using these two buffing weapons early makes future attacks almost unrealistically powerful.

Now that we have the buffs going for a good while, we need to focus on doing maximum damage. DoTs need time to reach their full potential, which is why the Doom Portal, and it’s guaranteed DoT, is the first damage-dealing weapon I would recommend using.

Fluffy does 200% damage over half the time. Added onto an extra 75%, Fluffy will do nearly triple damage a healthy amount of the time. I rest my case. (Hey, and even if the special doesn’t activate, you’re still doing a very powerful 175% damage.)

We want to continue maximising damage dealt while the big buffs are still in effects. The next best option for accomplishing this is by using the Doomblade. With chances to do 150% bonus damage or 200% damage (in critical form), this weapon must be used ASAP, not only to keep it within the buffing range, but also to give it time for a potential DoT to pan out.

If you use this exact order, the Bone Fist will be your only available option, and it sure isn’t a bad one to use. With Doomknight Armor’s 75% defense shield wearing off on this turn, we need a new form of defense, and the 60% less damage for the opponent for the next two turns happening half the time (which should be enough time to finish off the enemy) provides the perfect solution. And even if the special doesn’t go off, you should be in great position nonetheless, and relying on the special to activate to win you a battle should never become a circumstance.

At this point, if the enemy isn’t dead, it’s probably darn close, so just use any weapon you want that does damage and is available and you should be fine.

See #7.

Again, if you get to this step, reconsider whether you are playing MechQuest, and if you actually think you are, go see a doctor.

Conclusion

I won’t lengthen this enormous post any longer, so all I’ll say is if you have any comments regarding either this guide or the Sepulchure mecha I urge you to leave a comment in the Comments section below.

In the recent releases in MechQuest, a couple of DragonFable’s main characters made an appearance in MechQuest. The first, Sepulchure, was introduced as the unbeatable “Doom Lord” as the boss monster in the Mysterious Johnson war, while the second, the mysterious stranger appeared out of the portal of the war and is now what appears to be a permanent figure outside of Mysterious Johnson’s shop, currently offering upgrades to the recent Sepulchure mecha. Now that you have a little background on DragonFable’s very recent influence on MechQuest, let me tell you why I shouldn’t be making this post at all: Because DragonFable should not have this much of an impact on MechQuest. Period. No questions asked. Sure, crossovers between the games are nice and provide some interesting opportunities, but there’s a limit, and AE crossed it by a mile.

Let’s start with Sepulchure, DragonFable’s prime identifiable villain. Sepulchure is the ultimate bad guy in DragnoFable, and the entire storyline of DragonFable revolves around him. Sepulchure is actually one of the most important characters in DragonFable, and is one of the most important DragonFable-only characters in the game. To suddenly put this prime villain into MechQuest as a boss monster seems to do DragonFable some kind of unjustness, taking what DragonFable is so easily identified by and shoving it into MechQuest. The Devourer is AdventureQuest, Sepulchure is DragonFable, and the ShadowScythe is MechQuest. AE has given all indications that each main villain is for its one game and its one game only, and that idea was breached for what seems to be the first time last week. MechQuest already has a main opposition, the ShadowScythe, so not only does it seem weird and out of the ordinary to suddenly shove Sepulchure into the spotlight, but it doesn’t make any sense plot-wise either. Overall, not only is it a head-scratcher, it was a bad decision, and I’m hoping we see nothing of Sepulchure anywhere else in MechQuest either.

Now let’s move on to the mysterious stranger. He/she/it (I’ll refer to him as a he for now) is also a very major character in DragonFable, and is the epitomy of the Doom weapons, the most powerful weapons in the game. DragonFable has the mysterious stranger and MechQuest has Mysterious Johnson. End of story. No debate. Again, for AE to suddenly take one of DragonFable’s prime characters and shove him into MechQuest not once, but twice does so much injustice to DragonFable and still doesn’t add anything to MechQuest plot-wise. And the worst about the mysterious stranger is that he appears to be in MechQuest to stay, making a permanent little home outside the Mysterious Emporium, upgrading the doom Sepulchure mecha for players (doesn’t that feel like a DragonFable statement?).

Overall, AE has made a huge mistake putting key DragonFable players into MechQuest, and they need to correct this mistake before it’s too late.

As expected, we got a myriad of small releases, but while they were better than I had originally expected, they still did not hold up well in the long run.

About: There were really three releases this week, which I will go over one at a time. The first was the conclusion of the Mysterious Johnson Portal War, which created some interesting plot crossovers with DragonFable. The first was the boss fight, which is against what appears to be Sepulchure, and countless tries to kill the 1000-health boss, he grows tired and annihilates you in one hit. Fortunately, the sacrifice you made closed the portal, but a mysterious stranger popped up out of nowhere (mysterious!). The mysterious stranger is a very mysterious character, as we don’t know much about him other than that he doesn’t especially like Mysterious Johnson (for obvious reasons). Thus this leads us into the second release: The mysterious stranger, hanging out in front of the Mysterious Emporium has a task for you to do: He knows how to increase the power of certain objects, and if you can help him capture 13 ghosts, you can power up certain equipment, and if you can catch 13, you can power up the new Sepulchure mecha, which was released on Friday as a reward for buying the ShadowScythe T-Shirt. The third release this week was two new mecha models (at levels 13 and 18) at the Mysterious Emporium, with all-new specials to boot.

My Opinion: The conclusion to the Mysterious Johnson war definitely improved the overall status of the war, although I still believe it was overall phail in my book. The only real negative was that there wasn’t a *real* boss fight. Sure, we had the Doom Lord, but he was unbeatable and not meant to be beaten, and there wasn’t really that defining boss fight that closes out the war. However, we did get the mysterious appearance of the mysterious stranger, which really upped the bleak plot prospects of the war. The rewards were nice and solid and I’m glad the war didn’t drag on too long. I think we all know how I feel about the sepulchure mecha: terrible at best, an absolute and utter disaster at worst. I can see why AE would put out an advertising ploy such as this, but it really skews the playing field and I hate when things aren’t balanced in this way. The mecha itsef doesn’t seem so impresive either, which I actually consider a good thing, because I’d personallly like it to be as weak as possible. The mysterious stranger’s resemblance of this, however, makes a lot of sense and does indeed add another level of depth and playability to the game. At first glance, the new ghost hunter mechs may seem to be a dissapointment, being at only levels 13 and 18, but in reality they are extremely powerful mechs for their levels, packed with excellent and original specials that add some level of credibility to the once-sad series.

Overall Grade of Update: 8.0/10. The releases overall went better than expected, with a nice ending to the Mysterious johnson war, a fantastic Ghost Hunter revival, and some interesting openings with the mysterious stranger (not to mention Sepulchure’s appearance), but the lack of any major release whatsoever and my feelings towards the Sepulchure mecha keep this grade down.

Enjoy!

This week looks to be a dreary one in MechQuest (well, we were due for one anyway) with no major releases and three minor ones leading the way.Ghost Mecha Revival

This could be a very interesting release if AE plays their cards right with this release. They have received a lot of critiscm regarding the Ghost Mecha because the mech’s greatest advantage (100% ghost capture rate) is completely negated by the fact that you unlock the mecha after you beat the Ghost Hunting missions, rendering it pretty much useless. If AE can make the mechs available before you beat the entire mission (somewhere in the middle), in addition to revitalizing the bleak series, this could actually be a very nice release. Still, it’s only a few new mechs…

Mysterious Johnson War Ending

As you know, I wasn’t too high and mighty on the war itself, so it’d take something special to make me really raise my opinion on the war. There are some indications that this could relate back to the ShadowScythe, and if it does and creates nice plot revealings, combined with an excellent, *strategic* boss and quality rewards, I might actually consider the war to be an overall success. But AE would have to be perfect, and I’m not sure they will be… (we can hope, though!)

Sepulchure Mechs

Hey, I might actually be excited for these very much hyped new mechs if not for the fact that pretty much everyone won’t be able to access them! It’s a great advertising ploy by AE (I won’t lie), but just the fact that very few people will possess it makes me already start disliking this part of the week’s releases. It seems like AE put a lot of time and effort into these mechs, so I’m a bit disappointed hardly anyone will be able to use them.

Overall, three relatively minor releases makes this week look not-so-great, although a successful Ghost Mecha Revivial and a flawless Mysterious Johnson War Ending could definitely shake things up. Here’s to hoping for the best! *cheers*
