There are many different types of Health insurance plans out there. Picking the right one for yourself can be troublesome in the beginning, especially if you don’t know what you are looking for. You might have trouble deciding which one would be better for you.

Health insurance is divided into two large categories—indemnity and managed care plans. Indemnity plans, also commonly called reimbursement plans, will reimburse your medical expenses up to a certain limit. Under the Reimbursement plan, the insurer pays a percentage of the total charges, regardless of how much the charges are. With the indemnity plan, the insurer will pay a specified amount every day for a specified number of days. The amount reimbursed does not rely on the cost of medical care, but what you are reimbursed will never exceed your expenses.

The other popular type of health insurance plans is managed care plans. The three types of policies categorized as managed care plans are HMOs, POSs, and PPOs. This type of insurance is more popular than the indemnity plan, as they offer more flexibility. With these types of options you either pay a monthly fee no matter how many times you see a doctor, or pay a co-payment but no monthly fee. With managed care plans, you are given options of care. The plan you choose and the amount of money you wish to pay determines how big of a network of doctors and specialists you can see and still be covered under the plan. Some managed car plans (most often PPOs) offer sponsorship programs from a network of hospitals and medical services. You can often get this kind of plan through your employer.

Managed healthcare plans are better for the average person due to the fact that they are more cost effective. While indemnity plans may give you a lot more freedom in cost, you will have to use the healthcare provider that the insurer chooses. If you have a specific disability, this can present itself as a problem. In the long run, a managed care plan will save you money, especially if emergencies arise when you are out of town. These types of plans also are more flexible in policy. Before you purchase any kind of health insurance, be sure to research the many options available for you and your family to ensure you receive the best coverage possible for the lowest monthly premium or deductible.

Da non molto è nato Bing, nuovo motore di ricerca di casa Microsoft raggiungibile a questo indirizzo. Bing è ancora in fase di definizione, lo troviamo infatti beta, ed è stato rilasciato sul web dalla Microsoft come sfida al motore di ricerca sempre primo Google. Bing, cosa non da poco, è già accessibile in Italiano e possiamo decidere se i conseguenti risultati della ricerca siano la totalità (Mostra tutto), Solo in italiano o Solo dall’Italia. Da una prima analisi delle mie ricerche sulle più svariate chiavi di ricerca emergono dati positivi in quanto quasi sempre vengo indirizzato dove voglio andare (cosa che non accadeva ad esempio con Live Search). Sono rimasto un po’ impressionato dal fatto che Bing ha indicizzato subito le pagine del mio blog (questo da cui state leggendo) fornendo una lista di più di 1000 risultati, cosa che con Google non è mai successa perchè con Google appunto ci vuole tantissimo tempo (oggigiorno Google indicizza appena 420 pagine del mio blog). Bing si presenta super veloce, con una grafica molto pulita, lineare ed intuitiva (chissà a chi somiglia!). Sotto l’aspetto della ricerca delle immagini il risultato ottenuto si presenta completo e consono alla ricerca; in una sola pagina vengono mostrate tutte le immagini che Bing riesce a trovare e che possiamo consultare scendendo man mano; possiamo decidere di filtrare il contenuto del risultato delle immagini per: dimensione, layout, colore, stile e persone, opzioni queste che ci aiutano molto in una nostra ricerca approfondita. Da Bing stesso possiamo accedere con il nostro account a Windows Live Messenger e cliccando Aggiungi Bing al browser possiamo definire Bing come motore di ricerca per la barra che troviamo in alto a destra del nostro browser.
In conclusione rimane la mia impressione, assolutamente positiva e il fatto che mi piace che ci sia quest’aria di concorrenza perchè questa riesce sempre a dare quello sprint che porta a un miglioramento costruttivo.

Now  a  days  everybody  familiar with search engine who use internet. A Web Search Engine is a tool used to search for information in the World Wide Web. The information may consist of web pages, images and different kinds of file. The search result usually represented in a list and commonly called hits. The Search engines operate algorithmically or a mixture of algorithmic and human input.

Working Principle Of Search Engines:

A Search engine operates in the following order

● Web Crawling

● Indexing

● Searching

Web Crawling:

A Web crawler is a computer program that browses the World Wide Web in a methodical , automated manner. The other terms for Web crawler are ants, Web spider, automatic indexer, bots and worms. Many sites, in particular Search engines, use spidering as a means of providing up to date data. The main use of Web crawler to create a copy of all the visited pages for later processing by a Search engine that will index the pages to provide fast searches. The Crawlers can be used for automating maintenance tasks on a web site, such as checking links and or validating HTML code. Also a Crawler can be used to gather specific type of information from Web pages.

A Crawler is an one type of software agent. In general it starts with a list of URLs to visit called the seeds. As the Crawler visits these URLs it identifies all the Hyperlinks in the page and adds them to the list of URLs to visit, called the crawl frontier.

Web Crawler Architectures:

A crawler must not only have a good crawling strategy, as noted in the previous sections, but it should also have a highly optimized architecture.While it is fairly easy to build a slow crawler that downloads a few pages per second for a short period of time, building a high-performance system that can download hundreds of millions of pages over several weeks presents a number of challenges in system design, I/O and network efficiency, and robustness and manageability.

Web crawlers are a central part of search engines, and details on their algorithms and architecture are kept as business secrets. When crawler designs are published, there is often an important lack of detail that prevents others from reproducing the work. There are also emerging concerns about Search engine spamming, which prevent major search engines from publishing their ranking algorithms.

Q.13 For your selected e-commerce site, assess the ease (or not) with which you can find the site using a search engine. Type some of the company’s branded products or key themes into a search engine. Discuss what is returned. Pay particular attention to ‘paid for’ results. Also, check where competitors appear. Interpret the results.  

In order to find out how easily (or not) I could find my chosen e-commerce site, using a search engine I had to choose which search engines to choose. I choose four of the most popular or most used ones, which included:

• Google
• Yahoo!
• LiveSearch
• Ask

On typing the words “Lovefilm” into Google, my site displays as the first 6 results. They are clearly labelled and so using the Google search engine, very easy to find. However when I typed the words “Lovefilm” into Yahoo! it was only the first two results that showed which were for the official Lovefilm website. This still meant it was easy to access the site from the search engine.

 I then tried using some of the company’s products to try and find the website. I used the LiveSearch search engine. I typed “DVD rentals” into the search bar. The results showed 4 addresses to do with DVD rentals before the official Lovefilm site. This would appear that Lovefilm is loosing a lot of business just by their listing on a search engine but, when I looked at the results which were displayed before the official site I noticed that all of them are powered by Lovefilm.com. Even larger companies such as Tesco and specific DVD rental sites such as CDWOW! And easyCinema are both powered by Lovefilm.com.

 I then decided to try a different word in a different search engine. I used the words “game rental” as Lovefilm also offer the rental of a variety of platforms of game consoles. I used Ask.com for this search. Lovefilm, possibly quite surprisingly displayed as the 4^th result in this search. I thought this was quite high as they haven’t advertised as heavily for the games section as they have for the DVDs. I also typed the “game rental” words into Google so as to compare search engines. In Google, Lovefilm.com displayed as the 3^rd result as opposed to the 4^th.

All of theses results are displayed in the leftmost section of the screen. The sponsored results are displayed on the right hand side of the screen. When I first typed Lovefilm into the Google search engine the first 6 results were all lovefil.com. These were all free links. As well as this on the right hand side of the screen there is a sponsored link for Lovefilm which they have paid for to ensure that they come to the top of the list.

When I typed in game rental, 8 sponsored links were displayed. Lovefilm does not appear in this list at all. Originally they appeared in the free results. They may not have spend the money in trying to be top of the game rentals list as it is not what they specialise in. Lovefilm know that a website whose trade is in games, e.g. www.GamesFrenzy.co.uk will more than likely spend more money in order to appear higher in the list then them. This is a tactical decision on Lovefilm’s behalf which may benefit them as they can spend the money on advertising the things which they do best.. such as renting DVD’s to people.

Overall I think it is relatively easy to access Lovefilm using as variety of search engines. They have invested money in sponsored links but only for the appropriate tags. This means that they have spent money but tactically so that it is more likely to create revenue in comparison to if they have of paid for sponsored links for the smallest thing relating to their website.
