Today’s Blog is a first in a series about the wild and wacky world of cosplay!^_^

As a cosplay newbie (having only doing it once and basically in one night with horrible lighting and no forethought) I did alot of research after my fiasco and have found some common do’s and don’ts to cosplay.I plan on making a long list before the year is out with a do, and dont every week.

DON’T! try tostand out to the extreme and be the cosplay jerk of  the year by putting a bunch of random things together and thinking everyone is going to praise your rebellion.Creativity is loved in the anime/manga/gaming/fantasy community, but the same community that created yaoi and yuri paddles is also cruel and very judgemental.

I give him points for his guts but as far as cosplay goes more effort would have been apreciated...kinda looks like a S&M ninja turtle.

Thought not considered cosplay...or good this guy gets points for awesomeness and for beaing able to do this. He probabbly got some digits after the con.

DO! be creative. I’m not by any means saying that you should only go as mainstream characters or as a clearly recognizable character. It’s great to go with a theme or to give your interpretation of a character. but if you do plan on going that road please expect criticism. Constructive or not it’s going to happen. Either accept it or continue what you want to do and try to wow people whether they like it or not. All in all try to take it and think on it but by no means change immediatly or give up cosplay forever. It took even the greatest and more recognized cosplayers a long time to get where they are.

Though by most standards a bad cosplay this guy has a fanbase because of his ability to laugh at himself

I drew this picture while some guests were sitting in the room next to me. I only wanted to make a quick draft which only cost me around 15 minutes. But the relaxed atmosphere made it quite easy to keep on working on a – for me – high level and still quick. After 15 more minutes I finished the second draft and it took then only 20 minutes to finish the outlines. I was sure I could finish the whole work within one more hour but finally the colours needed more than 2 hours! All in all I spent 3 hours in making Seras Victoria. The result is how I wanted it to be and I cannot complain about it.

The question now is what I will make next. While I’m also learning for some really important exams I keep thinking if I should make one more picture from One Piece or try something from Gantz or maybe even some Pities again. We’ll see…

Pirms pāris nedēļām rakstīju pirmo rakstu par “mūžīgo servisu”. Rakstu atkal, jo bija vairāki komentāri kuros tiku aicināts atklāt autoservisa vārdu, bet atteicos to darīt nezinot vai tiešām viss ir kārtīgi un līdz galam salabots!

Kopš servisa pēdējā apmeklējuma kura laikā man tika paziņots, ka beidzot viss ir salabots, esmu nobraucis degvielas bāku un vakar man bija tas gods to atkal pieliet pilnu līdz augšai. Lieki piebilst, ka pēc prieka par pilno bāku mana seja sadrūma kad iekāpu automašīnā un pavēros uz degvielas daudzuma rādītāju. Tas atkal rādīja knapi pāri pusei kautgan servisa vīri teicās visu salabojuši! Žēl, bet šoreiz esmu nolēmis neslēpt autoservisa vārdu, jo tur vairs nekad neatgriezīšos. Jā, viņu pienākums būtu man par brīvu salabot vainu, bet es negribu lai pēc šīs vainas salabošanas rastos atkal nākamā šaize kuru man atkal būtu jābrauc pie viņiem nedēļām ilgi labot!

There’s a new OVA IV trailer on the website, along with the cover, and word is it’s going to be 57 minutes long. (Longer than previous episodes, but not necessarily long enough to cover material through volume 5, which it will have to do if Rip is to appear.)

Current release date is February 22.

In manga news, Hiranomoe has scanlated Chapter 90. Featuring some actual plot development (maybe) and some deaths (probably).

…okay, so we’re still left hanging on pretty much everything. But we can handle it.
