We’ve also added more dedicated servers.

Lol, I don’t know, I thought they would of been upgraded the servers for Left 4 Dead 2 a while back. You’ll never read anything about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 getting dedicated servers but that’s only for PC. Anyway, I doubt the servers would be lag free though, they’ll have less lag but you can’t get rid of all the lag but whatever. At least they’re making progress. No telling when I’ll play the game if I even want to play it now.

Lightweight web servers are Web servers which have been designed to run with very small resource overhead because of hardware, environment, or simply for the challenge of it.
Based on my research, following are the list of few web serves, which looks nice to me, based on few parameters like performance, resource utilization, size, active development, security etc.. Also, most of them are free and open source.
Lighttpd:- www.lighttpd.net
Nignix:- www.nginx.net
Cherokee:-www.cherokee-project.com
Thttpd:- www.acme.com/software/thttpd
mini_httpd:- www.acme.com/software/mini_httpd

But the above list is very small and you can find lot of others light web servers which suits your requirement.

Out of the above list, Lighttpd and Ngnix are the two most popular free, open source light weight web servers.
Comparison between these two servers:

I normally start out every Warhammer Online article with a now famous quote by Vice President of Myt

I normally start out every Warhammer Online article with a now famous quote by Vice President of Mythic Mark Jacobs, but at this point perhaps we can manage with just a bite,

“If you’ve seen a game consolidate servers, you know it’s in deep, deep trouble.”
-Mark Jacobs

Following the huge layoffs at Mythic, and the hints of desperation summoned by the endless trial system, it comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody that Mythic has announced that more servers will be shutting down in the near future.

On the American side, Dark Crag and Phoenix Throne are shutting down, where Europe has at least one server shutting down in the near future. Transfers are set to begin soon, if they haven’t already, and players will be given 20% experience bonuses on their new servers to ease the pain. After this shutdown, Warhammer Online will have five servers in North America, and Europe with eleven servers.

More on Warhammer Online after the break…

I don’t find the server closings any more disturbing than I do the recent address by Executive Producer Jeff Hickman, who assured players that the game is going to continue being improved upon, turning around what was indisputably a disappointing first year. Being an avid MMO player, I’m not stupid (seriously), and I’ve heard this before:

And going from there, I think it’s fair to say that every product all the time is being looked at for how it’s performing and things like that, and we see improvement happening in Tabula Rasa. We’re encouraged by it.
-David Reid, NCWest President of Publishing.

David Reid said this in an interview with Massively in September 2008, voicing his assurance that Tabula Rasa was improving and had the full support of NCSoft. To those of you keeping score, NCSoft would announce the closure of Tabula Rasa two months later. Oh and that NCsoft hardly mentions Tabula Rasa to this day, and when they do it is with nothing but contempt and disappointment.

I don’t take glee at the financial failures of others, but I had to give a hearty chuckle at the thought of Warhammer Online having only slightly more servers than Star Wars Galaxies. The main difference in the two titles is that at least the Sony team has a sense of humor, if unintentionally, when it comes to shutting down servers (“We’re doing so well, that we’re consolidating!”) where all Warhammer Online has is a quote that not only makes their situation seem worse, but provides plenty of fodder for fanboys/trolls of questionable motives.

He aquí por qué:

By Bruce Currin, President & CEO of Sunrise IT Solutions Group, adapted from an article by David

By Bruce Currin,

President & CEO of Sunrise IT Solutions Group,

adapted from an article by David Lane

As an IT architect, it is my job to build a robust, redundant system for my clients. What happens when the basic assumptions we make about disasters to IT systems change? Most disaster Recovery strategies assume that there will be an availability of people to be able to:

go to the disaster recovery site

take the tapes to XYZ recovery company

make sure my disaster site is x number of miles away from my primary site.

Then comes…….

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

In the days following September 11, 2001, the IT people in the financial industry were forced to learn a lot of lessons and executed them quite well. But in every picture and description I saw, makeshift tables were layered with machines and wires, clearly set up on the fly by IT professionals…..in many cases after working long hours to get the job done. Disaster recovery of that scale worked. But what happens when the disaster is not a loss of systems, but a loss of access to the systems and a loss of the manpower to run them?

What if…..?

A VIRAL PANDEMIC STRIKES

In the event of a pandemic, the experts have made the following predictions:

First, absenteeism could be as high as 40%. For an IT staff of 10, that is 4 people out sick, either sick themselves or caring for someone who is sick.

Second, depending on severity, mandatory separation may be instituted. The standard is six feet. Think about how far from your co-worker your desk is right now. Think about how you get to work, and how you would get to work if you could not sit within six feet of someone. It puts a whole new spin on the issues of mass transit.

Third, depending on the management of your company, rotation schedules might be implemented where half the staff is at home while half the staff is in the office. What sort of impact would that have on your IT services and your ability to manage your IT infrastructure? And are you ready for the level of remote access requests that will come flooding into the department and the issues of fulfilling these requests?

COST CUTTING in CORPORATE AMERICA: Why is it always in the IT department?

As I have said a number of times, those of us who work in IT just cannot win. When things are humming along smoothly, the bean counters are wondering why they are paying us, and when things are crashing down around you, the bean counters are wondering why they are paying us. In tight times, IT is almost always the first department to suffer cuts. Usually, those cut are at the top and the bottom of the stack, leaving those in the middle to bear the load, often without being properly briefed on the various back doors, trap doors and the ever popular what does that box do?.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, a number of companies, in cost cutting moves, dumped real estate and went to remote access. Over the last five odd years, those telecommuting trends have reversed as management and employees want to be seen as valuable (and thus remain employed), and the communications lines have been slashed as a useless expense, without the forethought of disaster preparedness. As IT people, we are beholden to the budgets. Most of us work for companies that are more concerned with the quarterly stock price and how it can be boosted for the next quarter, with very little long term strategic planning being done. But it does not have to be this way.

How to help your clients be cost effective AND have a good disaster recovery plan

It is our responsibility to exercise the disaster recovery plans. So we have the opportunity to apply new tactics to the disaster recovery scenarios. Suggest that the next DR test include a 40% staff cut. Roll dice, generate the names randomly, whatever works for you, and tell them just not to show up. Can you put the systems back on line? What happens if you cannot get the tapes to the DR site? What happens if your remote access systems do not work? These are only some of the things we should be thinking about and preparing for.

As IT professionals, we tend to get focused on hardware and software, in many cases down in the weeds so deep we do not see how all the parts go together, or what other parts are needed! So, as we sit in the middle of the flu season, hurricane season, or tornado season and with winter coming…..disasters are waiting out there with a real scary potential. Remember, as IT professionals, we should be considering an all-hazards approach in our disaster planning. And sometimes that means nothing happens to the equipment.

Regular GraTRUEities readers know that we occasionally comment on tipping habits of the rich and famous…just because…. And, with the holiday season just about here (we consider the Friday after Thanksgiving the official start) we can expect to hear plenty of reports about the good, the bad and the ugly celebrity tippers.

Well, these famous folk sit squarely in the first category–the good tippers. And the servers at chi chi Manhattan Italian restaurant, Nellos, were the happy benefactors.

Evidently, as reported in the NY Daily News, earlier in November the power couple of hip hop, Jay-Z and Byonce, enjoyed luncheon a deux at the eatery. At the end of what had to have been an amazing lunch, the total tab was reportedly $1200.00. The tip: $500.00.

A few days later, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich decided to up the ante, significantly. Abramovich also had lunch at Nello’s but his bill totaled $47,221.09. The tip: reportedly $7,328.00. Checkmate. You win.

No word yet on how the servers at Nello’s split up those bonanza-sized tips!

In honor of my new Reader’s Digest devotees, I’ve decided to do my own “secrets yo

In honor of my new Reader’s Digest devotees, I’ve decided to do my own “secrets your waiter won’t tell you”. I didn’t exactly look through the entire article, I just found myself as most people would do. To stay consistent with my writing style, and to make the post worth while, I’m going to not only tell you some of our secrets, but I’m going to teach you how to avoid them. Aren’t you lucky? Anyway, lets begin:

Ring Around The Rosie

If you ask for coffee and you question whether or not it’s a fresh pot, your waiter will – 9 times out of 10 – tell you that it is, indeed a fresh pot. He or she may not know if that is true, or they could just be lying straight to your face. So, I’m going to give you an easy way to tell. Most coffee mugs are that off-white color of porcelain. So, when you are given your mug of coffee, look at the edge of the coffee that touches the mug. The center of the coffee should be a very dark brown or even close to black. However, the ring of coffee that actually touches the mug should be a much lighter brown. You really should be able to see a difference in color between the coffee touching the mug and the coffee in the center. If you can’t see a difference, then the coffee has most likely been sitting out for a while. Besides, you may not even get that “regular” coffee you ordered if there isn’t any prepared in the back. I’ll buy your dinner if you can taste the difference.

No Sugar Tonight in My Tea

We, as waitstaff, hate when customers order hot tea. Really? Hot Tea? Are we in England? Do you want some chips with your fish, Guv’nah? We in the states drink coffee. I can’t tell you how annoying it is to make hot tea. Every restaurant presents their hot tea differently, but every way to do it is much more annoying than putting coffee in a mug and putting it on a saucer. You’re not pretentious, are you? Order coffee like the rest of the country.

O, Sole Alfredo

Like I mentioned in the RD article, if you order chicken alfredo, it tells me two things: one, you aren’t adventurous and two, you don’t eat out often. Restaurants put chicken alfredo on the menu because it’s a recognizable flavor, it’s easy to make and cheap, and we can charge you an arm and a leg for it. Hell, my fine dining restaurant serves chicken alfredo and our main protein is seafood. You know how much we charge for pasta, grilled chicken, cream and cheese? $19. In fact, please order the alfredo. the restaurant will love you for increasing their profit margin and I’ll thank you for increasing mine, instead of you ordering a caesar salad.

Fry Me To The Moon

Since so many people enjoyed reading my previous post, “‘Beaten and Bloody’ or ‘Burnt to a Crisp‘”, I’ll give you another secret about steak. Should you happen to be one of those annoying folk that like to come into a restaurant 30 minutes before closing, don’t order a steak. In previous restaurants I’ve worked at, I’ve seen chefs be so angry that they have stick around 20 minutes longer to cook your steak that they’ve actually dropped the steak in the deep fryer so it will cook faster and they don’t have to clean the grill again. But if you insist on ordering steak that late, if your steak comes out quickly and with a reddish tinge to it, you’ve been deep fried.

Frozen “Fresh” Fish

The fish is always fresh, and we got it delivered this morning, so stop asking.

I hope you enjoyed these few secrets. I love your comments, so continue to leave them. In fact, if I continue to get such great response, I might just compile these stories into book form and quote some of the best comments! What do you guys think of that?

In my post about Fortuna’s Community, I didn’t really dwell on many specific individuals

In my post about Fortuna’s Community, I didn’t really dwell on many specific individuals, despite the fact there have been a large number of notable people to have gone through the ranks of players & staff in the past. This was because most of them had gone on to make their own servers – Which is what this section is for.

Frankly, I can’t say much of Fortuna’s “spawn”. I didn’t play on any of them (Not for long, at least). The only reason I knew of them to begin with was because I kept an eye on everyone pertaining to Fortuna. As I said in an earlier post, I’d always kept my eyes open around everyone, trying to figure out what they were doing and why. Always suspicious. Never paranoid, though. Why would I be? If my suspicious were incorrect, no harm done. If they were, well… no harm done to ME.

Regardless, I have my own views of the branches in Fortuna’s family tree, and despite the fact two of them have been cut down, I’m still going to talk about them. As an outsider, most of these posts will be centered around how I knew of the people involved while they were still on Fortuna, what I can see from the sidelines, even now, and what people have told me, which I am grateful for.

Each post in itself may sections similar to the testimonials category of the blog, as many people I know have strong feelings about the other servers just as I have had about Fortuna, but they have no medium of their own with which to communicate them in a public domain. So this is their chance.

First of all, I’d like to welcome all the new readers who happen to run across my contribution

First of all, I’d like to welcome all the new readers who happen to run across my contribution to Reader’s Digest’s “50 Secrets Your Waiter Won’t Tell You”. It’s funny how that worked, really. She asked me some 20-odd questions and quoted me for two. Needless to say, I was rather disappointed. Oh well. However, that title is rather misleading, because you can be sure that if you read my blog, I have no secrets that I won’t share with you, my reader. That’s just how generous and benevolent I am.

You win today’s prize if you should happen to know what I’m referencing to in the blog title before I get on with the guts of this post. Congratulations. A group of Ryan’s Family Steakhouse waitresses are on their way to your house to sing you a very cheerful song.

Of course, I’m talking about steak.

Just about every restaurant in America has some kind of steak. Hell, even seafood restaraunts carry steak. Jack in the Box and Burker King have “Sirloin” or “Angus” burgers. Steak has this sort of mesmerizing aura about it that makes it sort of a gift to be able to eat it. Unfortunately, too many people take that gift and screw it all up before even trying it out.

Imagine this: someone gives you a car as a present, you take that car and repaint it, change out the engine, throw on some 22″s and then turn the key. You took a beautiful thing, like a gift, and screwed it all up before even trying it out. That’s how some people are with steak. They’ll take a nice, thick 9 oz. cut of perfectly seasoned filet tenderloin and find a way to completely destroy it before even tasting it.

There are, of course, different ways to cook a steak: rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well are your main temperatures. I’ve occasionally had some pretentious ass order his steak “Pittsburgh Rare”, which is essentially a charred rare steak. I don’t care what your personal preferences are about meat, steak is meant to be cooked medium rare. Period. It’s the perfect combination of tenderness, juiciness, and heat. If you disagree with me, look at every steak advertisement known to man. Every time you see a picture of steak being cut, it’s cooked medium rare. Seriously, have you seen a well-done steak? It looks like grey beef jerkey.

I think very little of people who order their steaks well done. You’re going to get a dried chunk of meat that’s going to be as chewy as a rubber, and the of course you’re going to ask me for steak sauce. Why? because your meat is too dry. I tend to find that ignorant customers order well-done steak. I once had a customer ask me for a well-done ribeye, but to keep it juicy. I’m not a magician, dude. What did he want me to do, get a turkey baster and inject it with aus jus? That’s not happening.

Other ignorant situations include the time that I had a customer complain that her well-done steak was taking too long to cook, to which I reminded her that an un-butterflied 10 oz. filet could easily take 20 minutes to cook all the way through. For those of you who don’t know what I meant by butterfly, it’s when a grill chef has to cut the steak in half and lay it out on the grill, looking like a butterfly so the steak won’t take 20 minutes to cook. You see, we have to give silly names to food preparation because of those ignorant customers.

People are so picky about their steak, too. I’ve had customers who sent back a ribeye because they said that the naturally fatty cut of beef was “too fatty” (fat = flavor, people), and I’ve even had a customer ask me if the chef would hand-trim the fat off of his New York Strip, because he doesn’t like the little bit of fat around the edge. I knew what was coming my way when I mentioned this to my expo, so I prepared myself for the endless string of expletives hurled at my direction by forming the question into a joke, “can you believe this jag-off wants me to have you cut the fat off his strip?” Mind you, he asked me to do this while the kitchen was preparing for a 75-person wedding dinner going on in the next room.

Lastly, I don’t even know why a “steakhouse” would carry steak sauce. Personally, I think it’s a slap in the face of the grill chef if you ask for steak sauce. Meat has it’s own delicious flavor. Most of the time, the chef will even season it for you and add a dollop of butter on top to give it that extra kick. And here you come along, asking for A-1, or Heinz 57 to completely cover up the flavor of the steak. If we wanted you to put steak sauce on it, we would have put our own sauce on it in the first place. Of course, you’d need that sauce if you ordered it well done, right?

So, my word of advice is, eat the steak the way it should brought to you: perfectly cooked medium rare, nicely seasoned, and without slathering it in sauces.

I woke up Sunday morning earlier than my usual 11 am – on purpose. My weekend hours are limited these days and I’d prefer to feel that at least some of my Sunday is my own. I managed French-pressed coffee on the patio, a brisk walk around the neighborhood, breakfast and a 30-minute workout (my thighs are on fire today). Then, I began my slow march to the restaurant.

My head, my stomach and every limb on my body would prefer to stay home and relax the day away. I don’t need the money nor am I being forced to work. I don my chef’s whites, sharpen my knives and sweat through my Sunday because I need experience. It’s a multi-part process – and Culinary School was merely the first step. I need to tough it out and learn how this cooking thing works in the real world.

My sous chef teacher is a mere 21 years old – and not much of a teacher. I think working in a kitchen requires an ego – and each chef and cook has a large one. It’s amazing cooks and egos can all fit behind the hot line. They’re condescending with confident male machismo – I wilt a bit around them. Their egos give mine a good beating. The servers, in contrast, are gum-chomping, fluffheaded bitches. They’ve convinced themselves they could work the kitchen – they just prefer not to as they might break an acrylic nail. This was an exchange I had last night:

Server 1: A customer said the short rib shepherds pie was dry. They didn’t eat it.

Me: I thought it was a bit dry too. (note: I obviously didn’t make the dish)

Fluffhead Server: (chomping gum) It was made with short ribs…

Me: Yes, I know, but usually shepherds pie has gravy with it.

Fluffhead: (with teenage condescension in her eyes) But it was made with short ribs…

Me: You can add sauce to the short ribs so it’s more like a real shepherd’s pie.

Fluff: But this was short ribs…

I’m not sure if she was trying to say that short ribs are inherently dry or, because this wasn’t a true shepherd’s pie, it didn’t need to be as moist. Perhaps during line-up, Big D told her the shepherd’s pie was made with short ribs and this was all she could keep in her fluffhead…

Customer: How’s the shepherd’s pie?

Fluff: It’s made with short ribs.

Customer: Do you recommend it?

Fluff: It’s made with short ribs.

Customer: How large is the portion?

Fluff: It’s made with short ribs.

Customer: Can I have an order of the shepherd’s pie but without the peas?

Fluff: It’s made with short ribs.

At the end of the night, Big D gave me my paycheck – $175 for three grueling nights of work. I just keep telling myself – I need the experience.

Move Over, HTTP. Say ‘Hello World’ to SPDY

@WEBMONKEY SPDY is at its core an application-layer protocol for transporting content over the web.

@WEBMONKEY

SPDY is at its core an application-layer protocol for transporting content over the web. It is designed specifically for minimizing latency through features such as multiplexed streams, request prioritization and HTTP header compression.

The Chromium team, which is in charge of developing the Chrome browser and its associated technologies, reports that SPDY has been able to load web pages 55 percent faster than the HTTP protocol in lab conditions using simulated home-network connections. The team says its goal is to make SPDY eventually run twice as fast as HTTP.

HTTP is the language currently used by servers and browsers for the vast majority of common tasks on the web. When you request a web page or a file from a server, chances are your browser sends that request using HTTP. The server answers using HTTP, too. This is why “http” appears at the beginning of most web addresses.

So, Google’s proposal would involve rewriting the web’s most commonly used and baked-in transaction method.

“HTTP has served the web incredibly well,” the post’s authors write. “We want to continue building on the web’s tradition of experimentation and optimization, to further support the evolution of websites and browsers.”

If such a massive shift were to ever take place (and nobody’s promising it will at this point), it would require a whole lot of buy-in from outside Google. To that end, the company is releasing its early-stage documentation and code for SPDY along with a call for feedback.

It may seem like a brash move, but the Chromium team seems to enjoy ruffling feathers. In September, the same group released the Chrome Frame plug-in for Internet Explorer which essentially embeds Google’s browser inside Microsoft’s, giving the ability to render websites that IE wouldn’t normally be able to handle.

To contribute to the SPDY discussion, visit the Chromium Google Group.

Performing a Google search for the extremely common word ‘reclusive’ makes the HikiCulture discussion boards appear right near the top of the first page of search results. This is great news, but it is also somewhat scary considering that anyone performing a search for that term, be it family members or friends, could come across the site! My family/friends already know that I’m a reclusive Aspergian, but they’d perhaps wonder why the hell I started a website on the topic.

In the future, I plan to host HikiCulture (or a similar site) on my very own servers. This will give me more freedom; it will allow me to install lots of modifications and basically do whatever I please (as far as forum-administration goes). I’m not sure if I will use phpBB forum-software or switch to something else, but at the present, phpBB is likely the best open-source forum software available. vBulletin is, to some, on par with phpBB, but there’s one massive flaw with it – it’s ugly as hell. I usually don’t care much about aesthetics when it comes to most things, especially computer-related, but vBulletin is an exception here. Powerful it is —- pretty it is not.

I never imagined that the site would get so many users so quickly. At first the site was somewhat of a ‘experiment’ of mine to see how successful it would become, but it’s getting big enough that it would actually be worth-while to host the forum on my own servers. When and if I run the forums off my own servers, I don’t know.

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding IBM server rental bangalore. A c

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding IBM server rental bangalore. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about IBM server rental bangalore. IBM has always been responsive to the small business market, and by making their server options available even after they’ve been discontinued, the company continues its tradition of helping small businesses. From its introduction through to its current models, the IBM xSeries line of servers has proven to be an excellent option for small businesses. Back in 2004, CNET rated the xSeries 225 to be “an extremely capable server at a surprisingly reasonable price.” It noted the overall physical design, speed and expandability as among the best features. Similarly, CNET stated that the xSeries 226 was a “wise investment” for a small to medium business. More recent models have also been praised. The x3550 received glowing reviews from PC Pro. The reviewer stated that the model “… delivers a superbly solid and well-designed foundation with a wealth of exciting new features.” The x3650 offers “unprecedented performance and reliability” according to dealtime.com. For small businesses, these servers clearly perform well and offer a good return on their investment. The question is: what to do when newer models come out? Although not yet discontinued, the x3550, reviewed favorably and probably chosen by many businesses, has now been upgraded by IBM to an x3650 and x3850 model. What will happen when the next model hits the market? Will server options to support the older model still be available, or will a business be forced to buy new technology instead of maintaining their existing, older model server? Sometimes the most important aspects of a subject are not immediately obvious. Keep reading to get the complete picture. IBM has an answer to that question. Over a decade ago, the company launched its Options Continuation Program (OCP). Through the OCP, IBM makes its discontinued server options available for sale through its reselling partners. With server options, businesses can: obtain parts to repair their servers; purchase memory, hard disks and other components to expand their servers; and save money by putting off the purchase of a new server. The IBM OCP works a lot like buying new. With the model number in hand, customers can simply search for the component they need and order it online. They can find just about anything they need – memory, faster processors, cables, hard drives, keyboards and more. The reseller provides detailed information on the condition of the part and whether it is used, new, or refurbished. Listings also provide warranty information. Depending on the part, the manufacturer’s warranty may still apply, and the reseller may offer an additional warranty at no extra charge. IBM servers are proven performers for small business, and well worth the initial investment. But they are an investment and small business owners want to ensure they get the most out it. IBM server options give small businesses access to the components they need to keep their networks running smoothly, even when their hardware is no longer marketed by IBM. It never hurts to be well-informed with the latest on IBM server rental Bangalore. Compare what you’ve learned here to future articles so that you can stay alert to changes in the area of IBM server rental Bangalore.

The only way to keep up with the latest about Dell server rental Bangalore is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. If you read everything you find about Dell server rental Bangalore, it won’t take long for you to become an influential authority. While working on a client site recently with a brand new Dell Poweredge 2950 Server with Windows Server 2003 R2 pre-installed by Dell we came had a problem with one of the settings that comes with the pre-installation and interferes with the ease of connecting via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol).

This setting causes the a picture of the Dell server to be displayed prior to the login prompt; the problem is that the file size is almost 2Mb and very graphic intensive, so it slows down the speed that the log in prompt loads, following the steps below will help remove this setting. It’s really a good idea to probe a little deeper into the subject of Dell server rental Bangalore.

What you learn may give you the confidence you need to venture into new areas. Before starting this work please ensure you understand the warning below fully: Disclaimer: You use Registry Editor (regedit.exe) entirely at your own risk. Incorrect or accidental usage of regedit can cause serious problems that may be irreparable without reinstalling your operating system. We offer this information freely however all risk is with you and we offer no liability for any damage you cause; accidental or otherwise.

Open a RDP or console session on the server (waiting for the image to load!)

Log into the server Open Regedit on the RDP session (Start > Run > Regedit.exe).

Select the HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Desktop section from the left hand menu.

In the right hand pane for the entry with the name of Wallpaper.

Our server was set to: C:/WINDOWS/system32/DELLWALL.BMP Double-click on the Wallpaper value. Delete the contents and click OK. Close Regedit.

Another option would be to change it to point at an image of your choice however it will slow the loading speed down so we don’t advise it.

As always with registry edits great care should be taken not to alter any keys you are not 100% sure of what they do – doing so can cause serious and irreparable damage to your operating system. Hopefully the sections above have contributed to your understanding of Dell server rental Bangalore. Share your new understanding about Dell server rental Bangalore with others. They’ll thank you for it.

Blades in the data center: Cost saver or cost waster? It’s an open question for me at this point. In the past five years of blades really gaining traction with IT data center spending, how much have they lived up to the predominant value proposition of being cost savers?

I ask this not with an eye to issues such as power savings or space savings, but, perhaps more importantly, professional services and in-house staff expenses. Have blades forced companies to incur greater costs in these areas than rack mounted servers? My gut tells me, “Of course!” but that instinctual response is bolstered by knowing some folks who work in professional services and talk about the increased amount of time required to get blades up and running — and keep them working — compared to rack mounted servers. And how, although it’s more complex, blades are helping them generate greater disposable income for them personally.

I haven’t seen one yet — and I’m actively looking — for an objective study that provides a cost analysis of the purported savings from blade servers versus the increased and additional costs of them over rack mounted ones. And I wonder, what would the formula be for calculating one? It seems like it should be straight forward. However, in the past, at the beginning of the ramp up of blades, the reports and studies I undertook rarely considered the increased costs of professional services — and they never quantified them.

How much do blades really cost? Are they actually worth it?
