Hi,

heute kam unser Geschäftsführer mit dem Notebook seiner Tochter, einem Samsung R10 Plus, zu mir und fragte mich um Rat. Das installierte Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium macht kein Windows Update mehr.

Also habe ich mir das Problem angesehen aber der Reihe nach. Den Rechner angeschaltet hochgefahren und Windows Update probiert, Ergebiss Fehler “800703e6″. Also die bekannten Tricks angewendet. Dienst Windows Update stoppen (net stop wuausvc) den Ordner “SystemRoot%\Software Distribution” löschen und Windows Vista neustarten. Kein Erfolg.

Also habe ich das Office 2007 SP2 aus dem Microsoft Download Center runtergeladen ebenso wie das Windows Vista SP2.

Das Office 2007 SP2 ließ sich ohne Probleme installieren, nicht aber das Windows Vista SP2. Bei der Installation erhielt ich den Fehler “80070490″.

Also eine Bing Suche nach beiden Fehlern gestartet worauf ich im Technet Forum auch Antworten dazu fand (leider ohne Erfolg in meinem Fall).

Die Versuche mit dem stoppen des Windows Update (net stop wuausvc) und des Krypthographiedienstes (net stop cryptsvc ) und anschließendem neuregistrieren der DLL´s half auch nichts. Also habe ich wie beschrieben das Systemupdate-Vorbereitungstool (KB947821) runtergeladen und ausgeführt, auch ohne Erfolg. Auch ein letzter Versuch mit den WinFuture Update Packs brachte keinen Erfolg, die wurden auch alle nicht installiert.

Also dachte ich mir hilft jetzt nur noch Backup und Neuinstallation. Neuinstallation, aber was? Windows Vista SP2 oder gleich ein Upgrade auf Windows 7 Home Premium. Ich entschloss mich für Windows 7 und siehe da, nun funktioniert alles und auch Windows Update arbeitet.

With XLGL 3.0 out, I think we need to spend some time on resolving general issues with XLGL and listing resources available to you.

About 50% of all support call get can be resolved by updating your system. XLGL is bound to Excel and works on Windows. First, make sure you use Genuine Software and that you have the latest update and Service Packs for Windows and Excel.

Then, of course, having the latest version of XLGL really helps. We constantly make improvement ourselves and release updates as needed, free for anyone with a valid subscription to support. These updates may add new features, but also solve bug and add support for changes made either in Excel or Simply Accounting.

You can look at your current version from Excel, under XLGL > About… You can also run XLGL > Check for Updates to see if an update is available and download it.

What if that doesn’t solve it? When XLGL generates an exception, you can send the error report to us, with your own comment. This is anonymous, so if you want to be reached back, please include your email.

Use XLGL > Contact Support to send us support emails. This will include technical information such as the version of XLGL and version Excel you are using and can help us resolve the issue faster. Emails can include screenshot, workbook, Simply Accounting backup file or any other file you deemed necessary. Too much information is better than not enough.

Recently we’re seeing a lot of people upgrading to Windows 2008 SP2, without first checking to see that release notes and compatibility guides state that NetWorker doesn’t yet support this release.

I fully agree that this represents monumental slowness on the part of EMC … there’s absolutely no excuse – none whatsoever – for them not to be on the relevant developer programmes and partner programmes for all the supported operating systems so they get access to the new releases before they come out and then make sure there’s either hot-fixes or cumulative updates available to support new operating systems.

They don’t have to be on the same day, but it’s foolish short-sightedness at best that they don’t support a new OS release within say, 2 weeks of it hitting the general public, given that partner and developer programmes will give access to it for months in advance of that point.

Now, back to my original point – if you’re planning on rolling out a new service pack to an operating system, please take a few minutes to read the release notes or software compatibility guides – or ask your support team to fill you in, and if it’s not supported, roll out to a test client first so you can confirm the impact to your backup environment.

It takes two to tango – EMC needs to improve their response to new operating systems and new major updates to operating systems, but it’s equally important for people to remember to check these things before they upgrade, not after they get the first backup (or worse! recovery) error.

(Do I do these checks all the time? No – only in lab environments. It’s my job to identify bugs and issues before my customers find them as much as possible.)

rumours has it, that Enterprise Vault version 8 Servicepack 3 will be released on Monday 9. November 2009. This was caught during a conversation with Symantec Support yesterday

While I did attend a very nice Windows 7 launch party, I’m still running XP on my main PC and OS X on my iBook (with Windows 2000 running nicely in emulation). I do have Vista on a laptop, but only because it came with Vista and I could never quit muster up the gumption for a downgrade to XP.  Interestingly, though I have used it the least of any computer I own, it has thrown up the most blue screens of death. But, to get back to Windows 7.

My desktop PC (a repair job based on the burned out shell of a friend’s “one fan short” computer) is running XP Pro quite nicely. While I am more of a Mac person, I find XP Pro with Service Pack 3 to be fairly stable and good with resources (of course, it was released almost a decade ago). Most importantly, it does everything that I need an OS to do-that is, it allows me to run the software I use without too much trouble. When Vista was spawned to torment the world, I passed because I saw no compelling reason to “upgrade” to a annoying resource hog. I do not regret that at all.

When Windows 7 was announced, I knew that I would probably have to use it eventually-after all, my PC is reaching the end of its expected life. However, I also knew that I would not be shelling out money for an upgrade. Rather, I figured I would just buy a new PC after Microsoft got around to beating some of the worst bugs out of Windows 7.

Based on my limited experience and research on Windows 7, it seems to be roughly a service pack of Vista. That is, it is basically Vista that works a bit better: it is less annoying, a bit faster, and hogs slightly less resources. However, there seems to be nothing compelling about it-beyond the fact that Microsoft has discontinued XP and soon it will be the only real Windows game in town.

While Windows 7 has some nifty interface features, I can honestly do without them or, if I must have them, I can find some third party freeware to do the same thing. Of course, my view of an OS is to take it as a metaphor for a worktable-it is there to provide the foundation on which I work, not to be getting in my way with fancy features. I am, however, concerned with security and stability. Not surprisingly, I rather like Linux.

Like many people, I find Microsoft’s multiple versions of Windows to be annoying. I rather like Apple’s approach: have one OS for consumers and a server OS. Don’t have numerous versions that seem to differ only in fairly minor ways (other than cost). Presumably Microsoft thinks that it can make more money with all these versions and perhaps this is correct. When I do buy a new PC, I’ll shop for the best hardware deal and then probably just deal with whatever version of Windows 7 is on there. I’d take a stab at sorting out all the different versions, but that should be something Microsoft makes clear. Fortunately, someone has taken the effort for me.

If you have an XP machine and are happy with it, then it makes sense to just stick with it until it dies. While it might be able to run Windows 7, it makes more sense to use the money for an upgrade and put it towards a new PC. After all, some new PCs are priced close to the cost of a full version Windows 7.

If you have a Vista machine, then you might be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. If you bought your PC on or after July 1, 2009 then you are probably in luck. If you bought before then, then you will need to buy an upgrade. If you are a student, then you can get the upgrade for $29.99.

Of course, my view is that Microsoft should issue a free upgrade to all Vista users as an apology for that mess. At the very least, they should allow them that $30 deal.

Im Zusammenspiel mit Microsoft Office 2003 und den SharePoint Services 2007 kann es zu eine Konstellation kommen, bei der Excel-Dateien nicht mehr gespeichert werden können. Während sich Word-Dateien ganz normal per Anklicken -> Änderung -> Speichern bearbeiten lassen, erscheint bei Excel-Dateien ein Fehlerdialog von Microsoft Excel „… ist schreibgeschützt’“. Um eine Kopie zu speichern, klicken Sie auf ´OK´, Geben Sie der Arbeitsmappe im Dialog ´Speichern unter´ einen neuen Namen.“

Der Fehler lässt sich umgehen, indem anstelle eines Klicks auf die Datei das „kleine Dreieck“ auf der rechten Seite neben dem Dateinamen angeklickt wird und der Menübefehl „In Microsoft Office Excel bearbeiten“ ausgewählt wird.

Was ist der Hintergrund dieses Fehlverhaltens und wie kann es dauerhaft behoben werden? Die Microsoft Office Version auf dem PC ist offensichtlich zu alt. Es wird mindestens Service Pack 3 (SP3) benötigt um fehlerfrei mit den SharePoint Services 2007 zu arbeiten (ganz unabhängig davon macht es erst mit Microsoft Office 2007 wirklich Sinn!).

Die Microsoft Office Version lässt sich in jeder Office-Applikation, beispielsweise Microsoft Word, in der der Menüleiste durch einen Klick auf das Fragezeichen und dann auf Info ermitteln. Es muss SP3 nach der Versionsnummer zu lesen sein.

Microsoft has announced that the latest service pack for Windows Vista will be released on October 22. The new patch offers bug fixes and a few Macintosh-like enhancements, but offers very little new functionality. The two big new features are it’s called “Windows 7″, and you’ll have to pay for it.

“It’s all about burying our past mistakes” said Microsoft jefe Steve Ballmer. “We want as many people as possible to forget there ever was a Vista, but we don’t want to introduce any new complications, so we just slapped the same old shit in a new box. And we’ve added great new features, like Aero Shake.”

With Aero Shake, when the user clicks on a window title bar and shakes the mouse, all other open windows disappear. We pointed-out that Vista actually does this about half the time now. “Yeah, but that’s a bug, and Aero Shake is a feature” Ballmer said.

Microsoft is also bundling the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the operating system together, because “we thought it would be nice if people with 64-bit machines could go back and install the 32-bit version when none of the 64-bit drivers work.”

Microsoft is also opening its first retail store to coincide with the release of Vista SP 3/Windows 7. The store is located in Scottsdale, Arizona, the well-known geographic center of computing for the entire planet, unlike those out-of-the-way places like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc.

- ściągamy sterowniki SATA do płyty głównej, jaką posiadamy a nie do dysku !!! Najlepiej szukać na stronie producenta płyty. Jeżeli tam nie znajdziemy to szukamy sterowników na stronie producenta chipsetu. Szukamy mostek południowy lub Southbridge

Zdarza się, że sterowniki są udostępnionie w różnej formie. Czasami są w pliku *.exe, które trzeba ekstrahować, czasami w zip’ie , a czasami jakiś pacan wymyśli Make disc do którego jest potrzebny flop i dyskietka .

Przystępujemy do integracji.
Wkładamy płytę CD z Windows XP do napędu.
Instalujemy Nlite i uruchamiamy

Wskazujemy napęd, w który załadowaliśmy płytę z XP i chwilę po tym każe nam wskazać katalog docelowy przygotowywanej płyty instalacyjnej. Ten katalog dobrze sobie wcześniej utworzyć.

Płytę skopiował, więc lecimy DALEJ

Na kolejnym oknie nic nie naciskamy poza DALEJ. Na moim screenie jest Poprzednia sesja, a to jakby ktoś chciał się parę razy bawić

Teraz najważniejsze okienko, w którym wybieramy TYLKO -> Service Pack + Sterowniki + Boot-owalny obraz ISO. Klikamy DALEJ

Pojawia się ostrzeżenie, my się oczywiście zgadzamy i klikamy TAK

Teraz wybieramy nasz SP3 który wcześniej ściągnęliśmy ze strony MS. Trwa wyodrębnianie i integrowanie. Okienko „Instalacja zintegrowana została pomyślnie ukończona „ podnosi nas na duchu, że idzie na razie nieźle . Klikamy DALEJ

Nadszedł czas na sterowniki
W tym okienku klikamy DODAJ i wybieramy Pojedynczy sterownik. Wskazujemy ścieżkę do naszego katalogu ze sterownikimi SATA . Widoczne będą dwa pliki, klikamy obojętnie który.


Otwiera nam się okienko z dość sporym wyborem. Tu nam się przyda znajomość, jaki chipset mamy na płycie głównej. Ja mam Foxconna P35as, więc wybrałem ICH9 SATA AHCIControler (desktop ICH9R). Można oczywiście z ctrl wybrać parę sterowników, tylko po co?

Klikamy DALEJ i grzecznie nas się pyta czy Rozpocząć.

W kolejnym okienku możemy sobie zmienić nazwę etykiety np. XPSATA i wciskamy UTWÓRZ OBRAZ wskazując ścieżkę zapisu.

Dalej i ZAKOŃCZ

Mamy już przygotowany obraz płytki instalacyjnej systemy z zintegrowanym SP3 oraz sterownikami SATA.
Teraz nadszedł czas na sprawdzenie naszej płytki. Należy ją wypalić. Każdy ma soje ulubione softy, ale ja polecam ImgBurn http://www.imgburn.com/ . Jego zalety to free i prostota.

Instalujemy i uruchamiamy program. Wciskamy Write image file to disc, następnie Source i wskazujemy nasz przygotowany obraz. Po wypaleniu CD możemy przystąpić do instalacji systemu korzystając z innego poradnika

1. Service Pack 1‘ i mutlaka kurun ( .iso formatında, 831.3 mb)
2. Toolbox’ın AutoToolboxPopulate özelliğini kapatınTools (Show all settings) > Options > Windows Forms Designer > AutoToolboxPopulate

   It does not look any different !!! Microsoft has decided that I need to upgrade both MSN Messenger and Live Writer. So what is different ?? I suppose I should have looked at the what’s new page, but really, It was working fine before. (I feel a rant coming on here … this may warrant a posting in my Grumpy group)

   This one of the problems I have with Microsoft. You can be chugging along, quite nicely thank you, without any problems, the MS decides you need an upgrade. They are always doing it with Windows, and look at the arse bucket the did with Vista. That has to be the least popular Windows OS ever. Even the hardnosed MS fans, have little good to say about Vista. At work, we are running XP Pro, Service Pack 2 (they don’t like SP3 for some reason), and in the words of the good and great, “We have no plans to upgrade the current operating system at the present time”. If the usual is anything to go by, we should upgrade to Windows 7, just as Windows 10 is announced.

   Just heard, that the eldest has been to see a movie called “The Spell”. It is a local movie project, that he got a part in as an extra. A whole 7 or 8 seconds. He went to see the premier last night, and I think he is quite proud of himself. I told him to quickly add it to his CV. He should also tell the people at the  job place up at Uni. There may be a lot of small parts in movies that students might be making. It will be a way of getting his name around.

Há mais de 10 anos estávamos nós mortais da era digital amedrontados e aparvalhados com o tal do bug do milênio. É incrivel mas qualquer zé mané, investido de jornalista saia entrevistando os gênios da bolha .com para saber o que era esse tal de bug do milênio e o que é que iria acontecer pois a Miss Brasil 2000 tinha inventado uma “coisa” muito legal e era simples pois bastava colocar o ano como sufixo e a tal coisa vendia muito, lembra-se “coisa95″, “coisa98″ e agora será que a “coisa2000″ ou “coisa2k” iria conseguir manter os computadores ligados na passagem do milênio?
Éh!!! parecia coisa de filme e a miss brasil 2000 estava na crista da onda, criando uma grande colcha de retalhos que era vendida a preço de ouro!!!

São cópias piratas que estão ajudando as empresas classe “la garantia soy …” a navegar nos turbulentos cenários globais, nacionais e regionais.
O mais interessante é que os ases indomáveis de TI, estão abandonando suas naus em pleno oceano ao Deus dará, pois agora o Brasil está saindo do “marasmo” e o vento está soprando para levar as empresas que estão preparadas para navegar com grande velocidade e com proa segura para dar muitas voltas nos mares verdes do Brasil. Já os proprietários de embarcações que contrataram piratas para conduzir seus negócios agora estão a se perguntar será que a miss brasil 2000 vai continuar sua tradição? nada melhor que a música da Rita Lee Miss Brasil 2000!!!!

ah! eu esqueci de dar mais um detalhe! como os dados utilizavam dbase e clipper 87 a miss brasil liberou uma grande arapuca de banco de dados utilizando SQL que hoje em dia ajuda as empresas a enxergarem os resultados dos negócios através dos buracos da colcha e não conseguem ver dados cristalinos nem terra firme para retirar a colcha que recobriu toda a embarcação.

ps. qualquer semelhança entre a miss brasil e uma grande empresa que produz software é mera coincidência, entre fatos, lugares e empresas.

En una iniciativa promocional para preparar el lanzamiento de Windows 7 el próximo mes, Microsoft está urgiendo a sus clientes empresariales a iniciar sus actualizaciones ahora con ejemplos de algunas compañías que ya están utilizando el software.

Microsoft está dedicando una cantidad de tiempo y un esfuerzo sin precedentes para asegurar que los clientes empresariales tendrán una migración sencilla y aprovecharán al máximo los beneficios financieros de su nuevo sistema operativo, Windows 7, según ha explicado Gavriella Schuster, directora general de Microsoft.

“La principal diferencia que los usuarios resaltan de Windows 7 es su nivel de calidad”, asegura Schuster. “Nunca habíamos conseguido con anterioridad tal nivel en términos de rendimiento, fiabilidad, facilidad de despliegue y herramientas adicionales”.

Como ya hizo en otras ocasiones, Schuster, reiteró las disculpas de Microsoft por la forma en que preparó a sus clientes, ISV y otros sodios para la llegada de Vista, que fue lanzado al mercado en noviembre de 2006. En aquel momento, aún no existían algunos drivers para hardware y periféricos importantes, y la mayoría de las aplicaciones aún no eran compatibles con la nueva plataforma.

No hay motivo para esperar al primer Service Pack (SP)
En cualquier caso, esto vino a justificar la estrategia seguida por muchos clientes de la compañía, especialmente en el segmento empresarial, de esperar al lanzamiento del primer service pack para Vista –como suele ser típico con cualquier otra versión de Windows- antes de plantearse una actualización.

Sin embargo, Schuster ha asegurado a los clientes que en esta ocasión la situación es diferente. Migar a Windows 7 será según la ejecutiva de Microsoft un proceso mucho más sencillo y sentará un precedente para la manera en que la compañía gestione los lanzamientos de sus sistemas operativos Windows en el futuro. De hecho, con una versión “lista para fabricación” de Windows 7 ya a disposición de muchos clientes empresariales, éstos pueden ya iniciar el cambio.

“En el pasado, las empresas han tenido que esperar el soporte de los ISV, han tenido que aguardar a la disponibilidad de un service pack para migrar. Hemos aprendido la lección y hemos dedicado un gran esfuerzo a resolver el punto de fricción con el cliente antes de llevarles el nuevo sistema operativo. Esta vez estamos siendo mucho más proactivos y estamos en condiciones de asegurar al cliente que no tiene por qué esperar”, subraya Schuser.

Als erstes muss wieder das Active Directory vorbereitet werden. Zuvor hatte ich ja schon die AD DS Tools auf dem Demo Exchange Server installiert, denn das Exchange Setup benötigt das LDIFDE Tool. Also die PowerShell gestartet und auf das CD/DVD Laufwerk, bei mir X gewechselt und dort die Datei “setup.com” mit dem “/PrepareAD” und “/DomainController” ausgeführt. ACHTUNG: Es muss die Unattended Setup Datei “setup.com” genutzt werden nicht “setup.exe”

X:\setup.com /PrepareAD /DC demodc1.demo.local

Nun wurde als der AD Forest & das Schema vorbereitet und im AD die Exchange Organisation mit Namen “DemoEx07Org” erstellte. WICHTIG: im Befehl muss der Schalter mit “z” geschrieben werden nicht mit “s”.

Als nächste folgt noch die Vorbereitung der Domäne(n) mit:

X:\setup.com /PrepareAllDomains

Erst jetzt konnte das grafische Exchange Setup (setup.exe) starten.
