So, 2 Tage nachdem Besuch in Frankfurt kam jetzt mein Reisepass per Post zurück… vor allem muss man dafür auch um 8:54 in mein Zimmer stürmen, um mir den Reisepass mit Visum vor die Nase zu drücken, und das an meinem freien Tag (Danke Mama!)
Echt super, dass dieses blöde DS-2019 Formular und der Sevisbeleg drin bleiben müssen, dadurch geht der Reisepass nicht mehr zu. Interessanterweise enthält das Visum direkt auch noch das Foto, uäääh.
Was mich vor allen Dingen interessiert: Wo ich mein Vermögen von 9240 Dollar habe, das ich laut DS-2019 angeblich besitze…

 One month to go until my program has a new leader.   I hope we make it.  That’s not hyperbole, either.   Every time I think we hit rock bottom, we go deeper. 

The latest disaster is losing our program’s State Department certification.   I was too upset to write about it, or blog about anything.  It’s taken care of now, but it was a nerve-wracking few weeks.  

Our current President didn’t send in the re-certification paperwork.  It’s the government; how many reminders do they send out?  She’s been trying to kill this program, and almost succeeded this time.  The State Department employee in charge sent out one final reminder that we lost our certification a month earlier to several people, not just our President.  That’s the only way we found out-by accident.

Can you imagine being so vindictive?  We wouldn’t be able to host the 30 incoming exchange students.  The State Department wouldn’t issue DS-2019’s to those kids if they weren’t coming with a ‘real’ program.

The CSIET paperwork wasn’t completed in time, so the kids can’t play sports again this year.  We haven’t had an audit since she took over, either.   She’s not going out gracefully.  She’s not doing anything, not coming to meetings, but not sharing any information.  30 days to go…

Ziya Gökalp, adı geçen araştırmasında Kürtleşmeye temas etmektedir. Burada Gökalp, siyasi zümrelerle kavmi zümrelerin tefriki lazım geldiğini, ekseriya siyasi bir heyetin içinde muhtelif uruk’lara mensup emareler bulunabileceğini söyleyerek, Milli kabilesi içinde (Türkan) gibi esasen (Beydili) boyuna mensup, Türk olduğunu bilen fakat kürtçe konuşan bir Türk aşiretinin varlığına işaret ediyor ve Karakeçili aşiretinin Kürtleşmesi için de şunları kaydediyor: “Viranşehir Milli’sinin komşusu ve rakibi Karakeçi kabilesidir. Bu kabile isminin delalet ettiği vecihle Bursa’daki Karakeçrnin bir şubesidir. Fakat Türkçe’yi unutarak Kürtleşmiştir. Karakeçi köyleri arasında (Sakır) adlı bir köy yardjn^Salur malumdur ki, Oğuz ilinin 24 boyundan biridir. Bundan başka Karacadağ’ın cenubunda (Kangılı) vardır. Bu isim Kangılıların da vaktiyle Karakeçi’ye komşu olarak yaşadıklarını gösterir. Türkan aşireti de Karakeçi’ye komşudur. Zaten evvelce Türkan aşireti Karakeçi kabilesine tabi iken , İbrahim Paşa zamanında zorla Milli’ye tabi kılındılar. (Türkan) Oğuz’un (Beydili) boyundan olduğu gibi, Karakeçi içinde de Beydili köyleri vardır.” Günümüzde (Beydili) ler Urfa ve Sarız (Kayseri) havalisinde (Badıllı) adıyla anılmaktâ olup, kültçe konuşmaktadırlar Şu vesika Türkmenlerin zamanla” nasıl Kürtleşebildiklerini belirtmesi bakımından ibret vericidir: “976 (1568) Ruha (Urfa) sancağı defterinde bu kabile, Cemaat-ı Ekrad-ı Döğcrlü suretinde zikredilmektedir. (Başbakanlık Arişivi, nr. 965, vrk. 165 a vd.). Kabilenin vergiye tabi şahısları arasında Bayram, Gündoğmuş, Budak, Yağmur, Kaya, Sarı, Tanrıverdi, Durmuş, Dündar ve Satılmış gibi Türkçe adlar taşıyanlar görülmekte ve hatta Karkın gibi bazı Oğuz boylan adı almış kimselere bile tesadüf olunmaktadır( vrk. 166 a). Bu Döğerİü (oradaki halk arasında telafuzu Düğerlü) kabilesi 1747 tarihinde Milli adlı büyük Kürt aşiretinin hücumuna uğramış ve bundan ancak o zaman Halep valisi olan Ragıp Paşa (Koca)nın müdahalesi sâyesinde kurtulabilmiştir. (İzzi, Tarih, s. 271) Döğerlü kabilesinin, Urfa’nın şimal doğusunda bulunan yurdu, son zamanlara kadar kendi adıyla anılmakta idi.” (F. Sümer, Döğerlere Dair, Türkiyat Meç. X, 152).

Daha Huzistan’da iken bir kısım (Avşar)ın da Kürtleştiği anlaşılıyor. (Prof. Dr. Z. Velidi Togan, Umumi Türk Tarihine Giriş, İst. 946, sf. 207).

Yozgat civarında 24 Oğuz boyundan biri olan Avşarların ismiyle yadedilen Kürt aşiretlerinin bulunuşu da (Fuad Köprülü, Avşar Maddesi, İslam Ans.), arşiv vesikalarında Avşar’ların “Tavayifi Türkman ve Ekraddan Receplü Afşarı cemmati…” denmek suretiyle Kürt gösterilmesi de (A. Refik a.g.e. sf. 145), Maraş’ta Kürtleravşarı Köyü’nün bulunuşu da (Köylerimiz, 1933), Kürtleşmenin ve Kürtleşmeyi hazırlayan saiklerin diğer misalleridir.

Maraş ve Gaziantep havalisindeki Tilkiler ve Kızkapanlılar Kürtleşmiş Alevi Türkmenlerdir.[i] Bunlardan birincisi (Tilkü)ler daha Luristan’da iken Kürtleşmiştir (Z. V. Togan, a.g.e., sf. 206) Kızkapanlılar ise vaktiyle Adana, Maraş havalisindeki büyük boylardan olup, halen Adana’da 50′ye yakın köyde sakin bulunan Varsaklara tabi idiler. (Prof. Dr. Faruk Sümer, Çukurova Tarihi, Ankara, 964, sf. 95; ayrı basım).
Bugün adı geçen köyden başka, Anadolu’nun muhtelif mıntıkalarında üç tane Kızkapanlı köyü mevcuttur: Krzkapan (Malazgirt-Muş). Kızkapan (Keşan-Edirne), Kızkapan (Hafik-Sivas) Köylerimiz, 1933).
Van civarında da birçok köy halkının Kürtleştiğini şu kayıttan anlıyoruz: “Zilan Deresinde, Şehirpazar, Doğancı, Hasanabdal, Boynuzlu, Çakırbey, Kumlubudak, Gökoğlan köyleri vardır. Yüz sene evvel bu köylerin ismiyle beraber, ahalisinin de halis Türk olduğunu ihtiyar adamlar söylüyorlarmış, sonra mütegallibe aşiret ağaları bu deredeki Türkleri Kürtleştirmiştir. Nitekim (Salman). köyünün bugün kırk yaşındaki adamları mükemmel Türkçe konuşup. Türklüklerini muhafaza etmektedirler. Bu köye de (Salman) adında bir Kürt beyi musallat olmuş, kendisine malikane edinmiştir.” (A. Şerif, Ahlat Kitabeleri, İst. 932, sf. 20).

Bugün Tunceli-Muş havalisinde Kürtçe konuşan Alevi Türkmenler[ii] yaşamaktadır ki, ayinlerinde söyledikleri nefesler, çektikleri gülbankler hep Türkçedir. Konuştukları karışık dil içinde çok eski Türkçe kelimeler mevcuttur. Köy adları, civarlarındaki dağ, dere, gol İsimleri, insan isimleri halis Türkçedir. Doğan, Kejeş, Memiş, Dursun, Tosun, Kurt, Yiğit, Aynal, Aslan, Tek, Koç, Durmuş, Teymur, Karaca, Çenen, Kılıç, Çolak, Çakır, Yaşar. Köçer, Seviş, Karaman gibi erkek adlarıyla; . Çiçek. Güzel, Güllü, Turna, Suna, Çeki, Sümbül, Gülsün, Fidan, Sevgili, Hatun, Nazlı, Gülperi, Kumru, Elmas, Tezgül, Akcan, Şeker, Sevdalı, Meral, Gazal gibi kadın adları pek çoklarında görülür. Kabileler içinde de Türkçe isimlerle anılan oymaklar mevcuttur. Cibranlilerde Torunu, Sincar, Teymurlar; Lolanlılarda Kaçar, Kacer, Kimsoranda, Karece, Memiş oymakları; Hormeklide Karayakup, Pircan-Pİrcem, Alhas, Zoetrymur, Baluşağı, Arslan, Gedik ve Feresat oymakları.
Bunların içinde (Hormek) kabilesi dikkat çekicidir. Atalarından süzülüp gelen rivayet ve inanışa göre Hormekli kabilesi Harzemlidir. Horasan’dan Erzincan’a ve oradan Dersim eteklerine ve daha sonra Kiğı ve Varto’ya yayılmışlardır. 50-60 sene önce bu kabile, komşu kabileler tarafından Horumbeyan[iii], Hormekan, Huvarzemiyan diye adlandırıldı. M. Şerif Fırat, Doğu İlleri ve Varto Tarihi, Ankara, 1961, sf. 59, 150-168).
Ziya Gökalp’in adı geçen tetkikinde zikrettiği Türklerle, Kürt diye anılan kavimler arasındaki şu örf ve adet, zihniyet, içtimai ruhiyat ve davranış benzerlikleri, Kürtleşmenin delilleri arasına sokulabilir:
“Obe: Buhtan’da Amare’nin münkasem bulunduğu batın zümresine (Obe) derler. Bu kelime Türkçe’den alınmıştır. (Oba) kelimesi Türkçe’de beraber konup göçen çadırların mecmuuna denilir. Kürtçede batın manasına yerleşmiştir.

Tatlar;Aşiret seciyelerini kaybeden , hükümete muti köylere (Tat) namım verirler. (Tat) Türkçeden alınma bir kelimedir. Türkler, Türktöresinin haricinde yaşayan kavimlere Tat derlerdi. Kurmançlarda kendi törelerine uymayanlara (Tata nizane) derler ki (Tat’tır, Nadandır) manasım ifade eder.[iv]
Ekinci, Köçer: Kürtler çiftçilikle uğraşanlara (Ekinci), göçebelere (Köçer) derler. (Köçer)ler çadırlarda ikamet eder. Şerefli olan Köçerlerdir. Ekinciler nazarında dûn (aşağı) bir mevkidedirler. Çünkü silah ötekilerin elindedir.[v]

Eski Türklerde (Akkemik) asil sınıfı, (Karakemik ) aşağı sınıfı ifade den mefhumlardı. Kürtlerde de buna benzer iki kelime vardır : (Akkürt), (Karakürt), Şu atasözleri de Türk atasözlerinin aynıdır : (Ölmek var, dönmek yok), (Erkek koyun kurbanlıktır), (Atın ölümü arpadan olsun).

Kürtleşen Türkmenler Teorisi, Hanefi Kürtler ve Alevi Kürtlerin etnik kökenlerine ilişkin ileri sürülen bir hipotezdir.[1][2] Buna göre 16. yy’da Osmanlı ve Safeviler arasında çıkan çatışmada Doğu Anadolu’da yaşayan Hanefi Türkmenler ve Alevi Türkmenler Safevilerin tarafını, o dönem tamamı Şafii olan Kürtler ise Osmanlıların tarafını tutmuşlardır.[3] Safevilerin yenilmesiyle Türkmenlerin bir kısmı İran yaylalarına geri göçmüş, bir kısmı ise Kürtleşmiştir. Bu tezin başlıca dayanakları şunlardır;

1. Safevi lideri Şah İsmail Doğu Anadolu’da yaşayan Türkmen Beylerine, Safevilere bağlı kalmaları koşulu ile, yaşadıkları bölgelerin kontrolünü vermeyi vaad etmiştir. Oysa Osmanlı Devleti Fatih Sultan Mehmet yönetimi döneminden başlayarak Türkmenlerin başına Enderun Mektebinden yetişen yöneticileri atamışlardır. Ayrıca Osmanlı Devleti yıkılana değin Türkmenleri göçebelikten vazgeçmeye ve toprağa yerleşmeye zorlamıştır. Buna karşılık Osmanlılar Kürtleri bu uygulamanın dışında tutmuştur. Üstelik Osmanlı Devleti, Kürt Aşiret Beylerine toprakta tapu hakkı vermiş, ancak aynı hakkı Türkmen Aşiret Beylerine tanımamıştır. 1516′da yapılan Çaldıran Savaşı’nda Doğu Anadolu’daki Hanefi Türkmenlerin ve Alevi Türkmenlerin Safevilerin tarafını tutmasının, Kürtlerin ise Osmanlı’nın tarafını tutmasının ana nedeni bunlardır. Bu Savaş’ta Safeviler yenildikten sonra Doğu Anadolu’yu terk etmeyen Türkmen Aşiretlerinin önemli bir kısmı Osmanlı’nın Türkmenlere yönelik söz konusu uygulamalarının dışında kalmak ve Osmanlı’nın Kürtlere tanıdığı diğer ayrıcalıklardan yararlanmak için kendilerini Kürt olarak nitelendirmeye başlamışlardır.

2. Paganist dinleri bırakarak Semavi Dinlere inanmaya başlayan hiçbir topluluk bir daha kolaylıkla din ya da mezhep değiştirmemektedir. Örneğin aynı şekilde paganist dinlerini bırakıp ilkin Ortadoks Hristiyanlığa geçen bazı Türkmenler (Karamanlılar) de 1923 mübadelesine kadar Müslümanlar arasında yaşamalarına rağmen başka dine ya da mezhebe geçmemişlerdir. Oysa toplulukların etnik bilinçleri kolaylıkla değişebilmektedir. Bu durumun gerek Anadolu’da gerekse dünyada bir çok örneği vardır. Bu yüzden kürtleşmenin başladığı 16.yy’da neredeyse tamamı Şafii olan Kürtlerin mezhep değiştirmiş olma ihtimali pek azdır. Üstelik Kürtler, Türkmenlerden çok daha önce Müslüman olmuşlardır. Dolayısıyla Kürtlerin Hanefi ya da Alevi Türkmenlerle karşılaşıp Paganist dinlerden Hanefiliğe ya da Aleviliğe geçme ihtimalleri bulunmamaktadır. Diğer yandan Hanefilik Anadolu’da Türkmenler arasında yaygındır. Bütün bunlar dolayısıyla günümüzde Hanefi mezhebine inanan Kürtlerin bir kaç kuşak öncesinde Türkmen olma ihtimali çok yüksektir.

3. Osmanlı Devletinin Hanefi Türkmenlere yaptığı zorlamalar Alevi Türkmenler üzerinde daha şiddetli biçimde gerçekleşmiştir. Bu çerçevede Alevi Türkmenlerin bir kısmı da Kürtleşmiş ve buna karşılık mezheplerini korumuşlardır.

4. Kürtleştiği söylenen Aleviler yüzyıllardan beri Cem ayinlerinde Türkçe deyişler, semahlar ve dualar okumaktadırlar.Cumhuriyetten sonra Türkçe Cem yaygınlaşmıştır.

In short: In April, I was interviewed by Microsoft. Although, Microsoft never offered me a job, by mistake, they filed an “H-1B” visa on my behalf. They neither asked me about it nor notified about it. As a result, immigration services terminated my F-1 status and put on hold my OPT application. As a result, for a week, I wasn’t sure of my status in USA.

Complete Story:

As time will go, I am sure I will rejoice the tension filled last week. It all started on Monday Oct. 3rd, 2008, the day when I received a notice from USCIS (US Immigration Services) informing that they were not able to process my OPT (Optional Practical Training) application. The reason being that my F1 (student) status was terminated. The notice duly informed me to go to University DSO (Designated School officer) to reinstate my F-1 Status. Initially, I thought there might be some minor mistake with my records and it should take only couple of minutes for the DSO (Designated School Officer) to fix my records.

However, to my horror, when the DSO opened my SEVIS document, he found that my F-1 student status was terminated because I was approved an H-1B visa by USCIS. For many, it is a moment of joy to find out that their H-1B visa has been approved. However, for me, it was scary. I never applied for H-1B, then how the heck I can be approved an H-1B visa.

It didn’t take more than a minute for my rational mind to think of all the possible reasons and speculate grave consequences. The first explanation that came to my mind was of “Identity Theft”. Oh my God !. I could see myself working hard to pay the debt that I never took and going to prison for crimes that I never did.

However, to my relief, I suddenly started thinking about next possibility. It might be that some poor soul at USCIS made  a mistake: “To err is to human”. Someone at USCIS possibly made a change in my record instead of someone else. Damm it!, why my record. I could see myself struggling for years, straddling from one office to another. 

After three days of tension, fear, etc., finally, on the fourth day, I found out that it was neither the case of “identify theft” nor of USCIS making a mistake. Indeed, some company did filed an application for me. But, it still remain unknown which company filed the application. What the hell!. I was offered a job, but long after the deadline for H-1B visa application was passed.

Finally, from the inner depths of my mind, a voice said: “It is Microsoft“. What the hell!. They did interviewed me in April and asked for my all my documents, but never offered me a job. How come then they applied for H-1B visa for me. Nevertheless, I finally ended up calling Microsoft and found out that they did, by mistake, filed an I-129 (H-1B visa) application for me. I was furious and agitated. For a minute, I even thought of suing for all the psychological pressure and tension (and also to make some cheap money ). However, they were quick to fix the problem and worked hard on Friday evening to send USCIS a withdrawal notice. Hence, I dropped the idea of suing the company . I can understand that it must be a challenge for Microsoft’s HR department to manage paperwork of 1000s of applicants. But on the other hand, I am also forced to think about the software company that claims to enhance productivity with its office tools, but is not able to manage its own mess and paperwork.

Of all places, the Immigration & Customs Enforcement has a list of SEVIS approved schools, so you can can choose schools based on geography. Not quite like google maps, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Finding a school is always one of the first steps in order to study in the US (I’m sorry for stating the oh-so-obvious). But once a desirable school is found and admissions taken care of, then the process to get an F-1 (or J-1 in some cases) starts. Most schools have a foreign student officer of some sort that handles all matters. Some schools take care of their foreign students better than others. The process is pretty internal once you are in the school and a lot of discretion lies with the school.

 I didn’t go anywhere, I just haven’t had anything to say.  That’s never stopped me in the past, so I’ll discipline myself to write 5 posts a week.  I spent too much time building up my blog to let it slide.  Bad, lazy Wry.   Before I left to chaperone in June, I averaged over 160 daily views.  I’ve lost a lot in this last month, and it ends tonight.  If you’re reading this, THANK YOU for still peeking in on me.

I have seven students coming from Bolivia and Chile that I’ll be responsible for this year.  They should be here in two weeks, but won’t.  All of their paperwork is late.  Only one 2019 has been mailed. (Actually FedEx’d, over $50.00)  The kids need their 2019’s entered into the system to even set an appointment at the US Consulate in La Paz or Santiago.  They must appear in person in the capital city for an interview.  The interview is typically a formality for well-qualified students, but longtime readers will remember the nightmare I had last year with the ’soft refusal.’   Suffice to say, if a student is denied a Visa, start contacting both of your Senators, and as many House Reps as possible.  (Check out posts marked ‘Eli’ or ‘Visa denial.’)   Besides my students, we have an additional 20 students from around the world this year, including five Brasilians.  That means twelve Latinos.  It’ll be a fun year.   The last of this year’s students left today.

The DS-2019 is a multi-purpose document issued by a U.S. government-approved institution (or organization) certifying that your admission into a program has been accepted and that you have demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay in the U.S. for the length of the DS-2019 form. The DS-2019 is officially titled the “Certificate of Eligibility” because with it, you are “eligible” to apply for a J-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad. Your spouse or children will also each need their own DS-2019 to obtain J-2 dependent status, if desired.
Getting the DS-2019 from a U.S. school is not enough to become a legal J-1; you must also be allowed legal entry to the U.S. as an J-1, or be approved for a change of status from another type of nonimmigrant visa
How the DS-2019 is created
Once your admission into a program has been accepted, your name and other biographic information are entered into a U.S. government database called SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). The SEVIS database processes the information and produces a “PDF” file of the DS-2019 that is sent back to the school via the internet. The school official (called the Responsible Officer) prints and signs the DS-2019 and then it is prepared for delivery to you. If an update or change information needs to be made on the DS-2019, the Responsible Officer makes these requests through SEVIS and the document can be easily reproduced
How the DS-2019 is used outside the U.S.
The DS-2019 form is used by the prospective visitor to apply for a J-1 vsia at the U.S. embassy or consulate abroad. The visa is the document needed to be allowed entry into the U.S. The DS-2019 must be presented along with the J-1 visa to a U.S. Immigration inspector upon arrival at the U.S. port-of-entry.

  The US Department of Homeland Security wants to raise SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) fees.  If you have time and inclination, please send them an email commenting against the proposed fee.  The fee currently is $100 USD.  On Oct 1, 2008 it will be increased to $180 USD.  This fee has to be paid before a student can obtain an interview for a visa.  That’s a very large increase, and difficult for many students to pay.  The fee increase is explained in PDF files on the homepage if you scroll down a bit.  The proposed rule is 94 pages long so I didn’t copy and paste it.

There are three parts to the non-immigrant student visa fee: the application fee, the issuance fee and the Sevis fee.  Visa issuance fees vary by country because of reciprocity.  This rule concerns the SEVIS fee.

Voici quelques pistes pour trouver un stage a New York

Tout d’abord armez vous de patience, car la Grande Pomme n’a pas attendu les petits frenchic pour tourner alors faites appel a votre reseau de connaissance pour voir si tonton Jean-Mi n’a pas un cousin qui travail chez Ernst & Young sur Times Square…

Non plus serieusement, on ne se retrouve pas par hasard a New York ou meme aux USA, la plus grande barriere reste celle du Visa, car pour la langue on improvise avec notre accent tres apprecie ici.

La recette que je propose n’est pas unique, vous rencontrerez surement des aleas qui feront changer vos plans, n’hesitez pas a nous contacter si vous le souhaiter nous mettrons notre experience a votre service.

Separons les differentes taches par chronologie:

1 AN avant de partir:
Demandez vous si vous etes bien fait pour l’aventure internationale, votre budget, au niveau professionnel ce que vous recherchez et si d’etre loin de son ou sa cher(e) et tendre ne va pas etre un soucis…

8Mois:
Une fois qu’on a fait le tour de ses connaissances, il faut rapidement voir dans quel domaine on recherche et si son CV a le potentiel d’etre VIE (volontariat International a l’Etranger cf. rubrique a droite). Il faut des cette date voir son CV et sa lettre de motivation (resume and cover letter), les mettre a jour, enleve sa photo (interdit aux USA). Tres bientot une rubrique vous aidera a peaufiner ces deux documents.

6Mois:
Les choses serieuses commencent, je vous conseil vivement de passer par CraigsList au depart ca vous donnera une idee des demande d’emplois et des secteurs qui recrutent. Ensuite passer par un listing d’annonce du type Cadrexport qui mettent a votre disposition des offres a l’internationales de stage remuneres. Enfin, mettez votre profil en ligne: LinkedIn, Monster, Viadeo…(cf. rubrique lien).

5Mois:
Envoye CV+ lettre , innondez toutes les entreprises avec lesquelles vous avez toujours revees de travailler. Regarder les offres en ligne sur l’extranet de votre ecole ou bien demander a vos amis de vous passer les annonces qu’ils ont en leur possession. Demandez aussi a la Mission Economique de vous fournir une liste des entreprises francaises aux USA. Cette liste est egalement disponible chez nous, contactez nous par email.

4Mois:
Normalement les reponses commencent a arriver et vous ne savez pas laquelle choisir, regarder bien les objectifs et la remuneration. Attention aux entreprises qui vous font miroiter un poste de Sales Manager avec un salaire a plus de 40K$… Souvent ces entreprises exploitent les jeunes diplomes et ne paient qu’a la remuneration…Donc be Careful !
Si vous n’avez toujours rien pas de panique, les entreprises ne peuvent avoir besoin de vous que deux ou trois moi avant… Il est peut etre encore trop tot.

2-3Mois:
Vous venez de trouver l’entreprise ideal… Bravo !!! Si vous n’avez toujours rien contactez-nous il doit y avoir un probleme dans votre CV ou alors dans votre demarche on vous aidera.
Il est temps de passer a la partie la moins marrante, la partie administrative.
Contacter une entreprise sponsor, qui sera utile pour obtenir un DS2019 sesame de l’entree aux USA. Je vous conseil Aquarius qui est tres serieux en france, sinon si vous vous sentez l’ame d’un aventurier passez par Interexchange qui est leur partenaire a New York, il faudra tout traiter en americain si vous passez par eux…
Telechargez les documents necessaire a l’obtention du J-1 Trainee Program, remplissez les soigneusement et faites remplir par votre societe une autre partie.
Retournez au plus vite ces documents a votre organisme accompagnes d’un cheque ( 900 euros pour 9 mois, 1800 pour 18 mois qui est le maximum aux USA). Profitez en pour mettre a jour votre passeport.

1-2 mois:
Une fois ces demarches faites, vous allez recevoir ce fameux formulaire DS2019 qui va vous permettre d’obtenir le J-1. Seulement lorsque vous l’avez recu appelez l’ambassade pour prendre un RDV (14,50euros/appel), vous avez besoin pour cet appel de votre numero de passeport et du numero sur le formulaire. Ensuite il vous donnera la premiere date disponible pour passer l’entretien qui ne peut se faire qu’a Paris…
Vous pouvez egalement reservez votre date en ligne au meme tarif et faire ensuite des modifications (3 maximum) sur votre date de passage. Ceci est pratique si vous n’avez pas obtenu la date souhaitez pour la modifier.

J-30
Vous avez votre passeport, votre DS2019, votre RDV a l’ambassade… Profitez en pour jeter un oeil sur les appartements, voir ou est votre travail, la mission que vous allez effectuer, les demarches a faire en arrivant…Bref tout ce que vous pouvez faire pour gagner su temps.
Pour votre Rendez vous n’oubliez pas:
- Votre passeport
- Votre DS2019
- Tout les papiers concernant votre stage
- Justificatif de revenu si vous n’etes pas tres bien remunere sur place
- Une enveloppe Chronopost
- Un mandat Compte de la poste pour justifier d’un virement fait sur le compte de l’ambassade
- Le justificatif de votre paiement en ligne SEVIS

j-15:
Vous avez ete faire la queue a l’ambassade, l’officer consulaire vous a renvoye votre passeport avec le j-1 bravo. Vous pouvez maintenant consulter nos rubriques se loger a New York et Voyager pour s’organiser avant le depart.

J-1
Dire au revoir a Papa et Maman, prendre sa petite valise, tout ses papiers et Hop direction l’aeroport.

The new exchange students should be arriving in three weeks.  It’s wishful thinking to assume they’ll all be here on time.  I spent 4 hours driving paperwork around today, and will have another 3 hours tomorrow.  The students’ applications have been around for five months, but people wait until the very end to complete their papers.  It’s like this every year.   The high schools and sponsors have to complete forms, and then our program’s coordinator has to input everything into SEVIS for the US government.  I don’t think people realize the students can’t get an appointment for a Visa interview without their SEVIS identification number.  All students must appear in person at a US consulate for a Visa interview.  Thankfully, they receive their Visas the same day or within a few days. SEVIS is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.  Exchange student programs used to be under the State Department, but now Homeland Security takes responsibility.  The students are entered into the system, and SEVIS must be notified within ten days if a student moves.  The students pay for the cost of the program, $100.00 per student.
