Candance Bushnell, a imortal criadora de STC, vai lançar “The Carrie Diaries” em abril de 2010. Pelo que parece serão vários volumes que contaram as historias de Carrie antes de Sex and The City, na sua fase ainda teenager…. No primeiro saberemos sobre seu primeiro amor, como era sua mãe (sabemos como Ela, com E maiúsculo pode nos influenciar) e como tudo começou na sua carreira de escritora. Candance deu uma deixa do que seria a inspiração de Carrie – “Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd _ she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene.”  Enquanto The Carrie Diaries não chega, o quinto livro de Candance “One Fifth Avenue” saiu nos Estados Unidos em Setembro (ainda sem tradução pro português). Gestern Abend gings heiß her am Nollendorfplatz:  Körpernah, einer der führenden Dessousanbieter präsentierte im Goya seine aktuellen Kollektionen. Ob blond, rot oder brünett, superschlank oder üppig, die Kollektion zeigte wie Frau ihre Rundungen und Reize am Besten zur Geltung bringen kann.  Süß und verspielt oder sexy und verrucht, mit Federn oder Peitsche, es war mit Sicherheit für jeden ein passendes Dessous dabei . Zwischen den einzelnen Kollektions-Walks las die Synchronstimme von Carrie Bradshaw aus Sex and the City Passagen aus einem, naja sagen wir mal “Buch für Erwachsene” vor.

Much like Miley Cyrus’ cameo in the sequel to “Sex and the City: The Movie” was once one a big mystery, we’ve now unearthed details about another thespian’s (this time it’s an Academy Award winner!) guest stint.

In October, People reported that Penelope Cruz would be appearing in the film (which is slated to be released in 2010) as a banker, and while we can’t exactly confirm if her financial abilities are going to be highlighted, we can shed more light on the logistics behind her part. “I’m in it for very, very little time,” she told MTV News during a press event for her next film “Nine.” “It’s a collaboration that I did because I am a huge fan of the show and the movie and Sarah Jessica Parker.”

Not quite satisfied with that tiny amount of information, we tried to get her to spill some more. “They won’t let me say who I am, but I don’t play myself,” she admitted. There’s been rumors, however, that she was seen filming a scene in which she looked awfully flirty with Carrie’s man, Mr. Big (Chris Noth), but she insists her character would do no such thing. “It’s not like that, [but] the scene is with the two of them.”

Here is a first look at the new Carrie Bradshaw book.  This time around, she is in high school.  MG, did I just die and go to heaven?  Me already likey.

With our society becoming more earth conscious and “green” it’s no wonder that the Bamboo & Eden Collection, made from a bamboo and micro-modal blend, is in such demand. It claims such benefits as being 4x more absorbent than cotton, anti-static, an odor preventative, and not holding heat.  Aside from the benefits, men and women both agree that the look and feel is beautiful. It has a great sheen to it and melts on your skin.
The two collections vary in style for sure- here’s the skinny:
The Bamboo collection has elegant long pajama pants, camisoles, 3/4  sleeved shirts, robes and baby dolls. My favorite of this is by far the tank baby doll. It has wide straps over the shoulders with small buttons adorned in the middle of the chest. Very feminine and  classic. It has an understated elegance to it. When Cosabella signed a licensed agreement with Sex and the City to design a collection for each cast member they used this collection for Charlotte.
The Eden collection is filled with a very fashion forward theme. Women are constantly commenting on being able to pair the baby doll with jeans to wear out. These pieces scream style and comfort. You will find rich earth colors such as radish, onion, earth, and sage.
To date, this has been one of our biggest selling collections in the shop. We’ve noticed that men buy it for women, and women, no matter their age, size, or fashion sense, LOVE it.

Eso es lo que han debido de pensar los autores (o el autor) de estos carteles que hacen referencia a series de gran éxito. Algunas actuales y otras con más solera. Lo bueno es que su simpleza tambien tiene su complicación. Ya que estas cosas no se hacen así como así. Hacen falta grandes dosis de imaginación y saber bien sobre la serie que quieres tratar de homenajear. Por desconocimiento hay algunos carteles que no he llegado a entender muy bien, mientras que hay otros que al seguirlas los he reconocido de inmediato. Precisamente el que abre este post es uno de ellos. Los que no veais la serie “Dexter” igual no entendeis muy bien que han querido decir. Pero es una clara referencia a uno de los secretos del protagonista. Esas láminas de cristal en las cuales deja una gota de sangre de cada una de sus víctimas. Todas en una cajita, alineadas y guardadas en un aire acondicionado (en la cuarta temporada cambia su ubicación ).

Mis preferidas son, ésta, la de Prison Break, Twin Peaks, Los Ángeles de Charlie, Héroes, House M.D., El Coche Fantástico y McGyver. ¿Y las vuestras?

JULIE: Seen Vogue Italia?

EMMA: Yes, kind of a fairytale Romanticism thing going on. Gorgeous clothes. I like the dress with the ruffles; it wouldn’t look out of place in the couture wedding gown montage in Sex and the City: The Movie.

JULIE: Yeah, the Italia shoot is gorgeous; I loved the one where she’s standing on the window.

EMMA: I have a picture up of her standing on the table in front of the window in a red dress. Is that the one?

JULIE: No, she’s in a green dress. A long, floaty number. She looks beautiful in that.

EMMA: Ah, I just saw it!

JULIE: You like?

EMMA: From the thumbnail it looks stunning… oh my god, she looks beautiful, like a Grecian goddess. That is a perfect photo in every way.

JULIE: Mark Seliger did that. He’s a genius.

EMMA: I like photographers who don’t just do a typical modelling shoot.

JULIE: The ones where they’re telling a story and not just getting a celebrity to stand in front of a background and grin.

EMMA: Or pout.

JULIE: To be honest, that’s why Vogue and Bazaar and the like are the best. Cosmo is good for a bit of ‘How to Care for Your Hair’ but if you want proper photo shoots by people who know what they’re doing then you should go to them.

EMMA: Definitely. Shame they’re so expensive. I always just stand in the shop and read them; shop assistants look at me with utter hatred.

JULIE: So do I; it’s a luxury I can only have once a month. And shop assistants look at everyone with utter hatred.

EMMA: Don’t they only come out once a month anyway?

JULIE: Yes, but you can’t have them all. Well, I can’t, anyway.

AND BACK TO PREMIERES…

EMMA: This was one dress I really liked: the white skirt and the leather halterneck top.

JULIE: For the Half-Blood Prince premiere in NYC? That was Proenza Schouler. They’re very good – big on having a different top and bottom. Lots of people are doing that at the moment; I see a lot of people who’ve sewn a skirt on a different top to make a dress.

EMMA: That’s a good idea if you can sew. Which I obviously can’t.

JULIE: Get a sewing machine!

EMMA: I’d get my hair caught in it or something. I really liked that one – different, but not in a crazy way. Again, without colour, though.

JULIE: As per.

EMMA: I do think the paler shades suit her, though; I really liked that beige Burberry she wore on Friday Night with Jonathon Ross. But then, I liked the style more than the colour.

JULIE: It was a bit… puffy.

EMMA: What, the Wossy one? It wasn’t that puffy. I thought it gave her a nice silhouette.

JULIE: It did, yeah. I think it was a standing-up dress, though, a bit like Cheryl Cole’s Vinyl record dress. It looked good standing, but looked bloody awful when she was sitting down.

EMMA: OH MY GOD! With the big chest-plate things? Terrible.

JULIE: Well, I liked it when she was standing up, but it looked ridiculous sitting down, as if she’d made it herself.

EMMA: I hated it from the start. You know how you see couture on the runway and it looks beautiful, but you know it’d look stupid to wear off the runway because it’s art? It’s like Cheryl Cole got that monstrosity straight off the runway without having it developed into ready-to-wear, so because it’s NOT on the runway it looks ridiculous.

JULIE: I feel Helena Bonham-Carter does the same, but she’s too awesome so she gets away with it.

EMMA: Yeah, it goes with her quirky, eclectic style, which Cheryl doesn’t have.

JULIE: WAGs tend not to be with the unique style so much! Having said that, I really love Chezza.

CONCLUSION!

EMMA: I feel we should wrap up with the famous flashing dress from the HBP premiere.

JULIE: Definitely.

EMMA: Which… to be honest, I didn’t like it.

JULIE: Really? I loved it. It did exactly what it was supposed to do: it made her look taller with a small waist. I thought it was beautiful.

EMMA: I think it was too old for her, and she’s got a small chest so that neckline was far too much for her. It’d be beautiful if you saw it on an older woman. But you’re right, it does make her figure look amazing.

JULIE: If it was on us, though, we’d have too much boob. I’d rather see a flat chest in that than Jordan busting out.

EMMA: Well, yeah, obviously that’d look awful in a very different way. But I think it makes her chest look masculine, especially in a frontal picture.

JULIE: I have to disagree.

EMMA: What about the fact that she later nearly flashed her boob after already having flashed her knickers?! Surely that proves it was too low. Was it Burberry, by the way?

JULIE: Ossie Clark. Vintage.

Levanta o mouse quem não está ansiosíssima para a estreia de Sex and The City 2? Pois é, não bastasse estar contando os dias, as horas e os meses para o filme mais esperado do ano que vem, fico sabendo que a autora dos livros da série, Candace Bushnell (team Candace!), prepara-se para lançar o seu novo livro: The Carrie Diaries!

O livro vai contar a adolescência da nossa musa inspiradora mor de todas as séries, Carrie Bradshaw! Pena que a minha (a sua, a nossa) ansiedade vai ter que esperar quietinha até, no mínimo, abril de 2010, quando será lançado nas livrarias norte-americanas.

Enquanto isso a gente se contenta em assistir mil vezes aos episódios de Sex and The City, néam!?

Come December, we’ll be seeing Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover of Elle magazine.  As the star actress has become almost indistinguishable from her starring role as the infamous fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, fans everywhere will undoubtedly wonder, “What’s happening with Sex and the City 2?”  According to the movie’s website, the much awaited film will be in theaters on May 28, 2010.  Just a little over six months until we see what amazing and daring fashions Carrie (or is it Sarah Jessica?) can pull off this time!

La Harper Collins ha appena sfornato la copertina del primo prequel di  Sex and the City, scritto dell’ormai inopportuna Candace Bushnell. Il libro (“The Carrie diaries”) sarà pubblicato la primavera prossima, ci delizierà con l’adolescenza di Carrie Bradshaw e sarà destinato al pubblico degli sventurati Young Adults… che  ormai non sono più un segmento demografico ma un bidone.

Comunque, dopo “The Carrie diaries” uscirà un ulteriore prequel, probabilmente Carrie al college o Carrie all’asilo, producendo un super trip generazionale, con le quaranta-cinquantenni prese benissimo con Sex and the City 2 (vi prego, non è più decoroso far spogliare Samantha) e con le ragazzine probabilmente invasate con i libri. A quelle della mia età, vigorose under30, non resterà che rimpiangere l’arguzia e la magnificenza della serie tv e scuotere mestamente il capo.

I’m going to do a best of the decade in late December, along with my best and worst of the year. However, as I’ve been useless recently, and Xi and Wolf have got their lists started I thought I’d chip in with my bottom of the decade list.  Which I feel I can do because I don’t think I’ll see anything worse than this lot before the year end.

This isn’t actually as easy as it sounds. Honestly. I had to narrow down a longlist from about 1000 pieces of absolute garbage. To be absolutely fair, I’m going to define the rules first:

1) These are all films without a single redeeming feature

2)These must be films that aren’t just bad but offensively awful and manage to piss me off in some way.

3)No more than one Superhero film can make it- I could quite easily have filled the list with about 10.

4)Only 1 of original and sequels can make it.

5No Platinum Dunes remakes. I could have filled the list with them

Anyhow, criteria defined- here we go. In reverse order:

Utter shit. Basically, just a slightly more explicit porno than Lust Caution. The reason it loses out to Ang Lee’s magnum snoozefest is that the chick in it shaves her armpits. Mediocre music combined with characters that aren’t so much ciphers as vacuums and the most explicit sex outside of hardcore porn.

To be honest, you’re better off putting on some music you actually like then watching hard core with the sound off.

12) Diary of the Dead

Romero proves Renton right once and for all: “You get old, you cannae hack it any more then you die”. All that’s left is for him to die.

Utterly dreadful, the central character is a complete cunt and he’s not alone. Romero needs to retire. However, like Xi, I’ve got battered wife syndrome with it, and will no doubt watch his next film.

11)Inland Empire

Unwatchable. Like putting your brain in a blender. As much fun as having your nipples electrocuted while some cunt asks for help with The Times crossword. By the end of this pretentious garbage you will be bleeding from the ears and your frontal lobe may have killed itself to relieve the pain.

The 10 Biggest Bags of Shit in the Last 10 Years

1o: Death Proof

Catastrophically dreadful. Completely boring. Totally useless. What the fuck was Tarantino thinking? This was billed as some kind of 70’s Grindhouse experience. It isn’t. What it is is hours and hours of boring self-indulgent women talking Tarantino (proving once again that he can’t write for women) before a ham fisted car chase. However, what makes this film a platinum stinker is that the climax of the film involves Kurt Russel crying.

Go and fuck yourself Quentin, you cunt. This is our Kurt, this is Snake Plissken, Macready, Jack Burton and you’ve made him cry. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your arsehole.

Absolutely unforgivable.

9: Lust Caution

The film that finally confirmed to me that I just don’t like Ang Lee films. A UK critic coined the term “Boredom Porn” to describe it and he’s completely right. It redefines dull for an hour, then there’s some nasty sex between two unlikable twats for an hour. Then it ends.

Dreadful. If you want to watch two people fucking, watch porn. Strictly for people too embarrassed to purchase dirty films. Or for dwarves to small to reach the shelf with real porn on it.

8: 2 Days in Paris

Before Sunrise was wonderful. Before Sunset was even better. This is, however, atrocious. Someone told Julie Delpy that she had some talent for writing, so she rips off those 2 films wholesale. Except for one thing, one tiny, important detail: the characters in those 2 films weren’t complete and utter cunts. Boring exposition following 2 self-indulgent twats around Paris. Julie Delpy’s character in particular is such an obnoxious bitch that I’m amazed he didn’t dump her yonks before the break up at the end.

Seriously, she shows naked pictures of him to her parents. And expects him not to be upset. And as if that wasn’t insulting enough- it turns out this is a picture she takes of all her boyfriends. Cow.

Oh, and there are far too many gratuitous cock shots of Goldberg.

7: Hostel

A plague on torture porn. This is, in my opinion, the absolute worst of a genre that frequently rips up the bottom of the barrel and then burrows towards the Earth’s core. The whole plot is simple: unlikable assholes get tortured to death in Europe. It fails for several reasons but most importantly, that you just don’t care about the people getting tortured. Diabolically bad, relentlessly dull and proof positive that that terminally useless cunt Eli Roth couldn’t direct piss into a urinal without help.

6: Funny Games

Personally, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t like being told I’m a complete cunt for watching a film by the fucking director of said film. Boring rubbish with delusions of grandeur and a completely pointless remake to boot.

Did I mention that it’s the only film I’ve ever seen to tell me I’m a cunt during the film?

5: Attack of the Clones

There’s been so much written on the Star Wars prequels in general (fuck you Lucas you soulless cunt), and yes, it is true that they do suck and probably did interfere with everyone’s favourite childhood memories. This one however, manages to comfortably be the worst of the 3. There are so many different reasons that this film makes this list, but I’ve included it because it’s the only film that I have ever successfully got my money back from the cinema for. That’s how bad it is- I managed to get Camden Town Odeon to refund me after the film.

And no, the last half an hour of it is not good- unless Yoda bouncing around like a demented ping-pong ball floats your boat.

4: Shrooms

I ACTUALLY OWN THIS PIECE OF SHIT AND CAN’T BRING MYSELF TO THROW IT OUT.

I admit it. I fell for the tag line. I’m a complete and utter cunt.

Dismal, predictable, ridiculous, boring, stupid, annoying, badly written, worse direction and just not scary. For some inexplicable reason they do a “hallucinogen cam” that just induced a migraine in me. If you can’t work out who the killer is within three seconds of turning it on then you should be banned from watching horror films.

Luckily, I saw this after OUTLANDER (motherfuckers), because if I hadn’t then the presence of Jack Huston in Outlander may have stopped me from seeing it. And that would have been tragic.

And now for the top 3 hall of shame:

3: Spider-Man 3

The presence of this film here in absolutely no way validates Superman Returns.

Ouch. This is the 21st Century equivalent of Batman and Robin. To be absolutely honest, it was a toss-up between this and Superman Returns for this spot, but this gets the honour for the following reasons:

1)Dunst sings. Twice

2)Tobey Maguire struts his funky stuff.

3)Tobey Maguire dances.

4)Sandman kills Uncle Ben (nb- I usually don’t give a fuck about abusing funny-book canon, but this was daft)

5)Plotholes you could park the QE2 in.

6)Sympathetic villain that wasn’t sympathetic.

7)Far too much crying.

8)Incomprehensible final fight scene with annoying cut away to reporter telling us what’s going on, as clearly we don’t want to see it in a film called Spider-Man 3. No, we came for the song and dance numbers.

9)For some inexplicable reason Spidey fights a Power Ranger.

10)Butler with the power of Wikipedia who only exists to explain the whole plot to Harry.

I could go on and on with this, but you get the idea. Raimi just clearly didn’t give a toss, and I suspect that it was that massive cunt Arad’s fault for shoe-horning Venom in.

Spider-man 3 is just a shit film, and very, very nearly a franchise killer.

2: Sex and the City

This is actually a contender for number one. Not just a bad film but a truly dreadful effort that reeks of cash in. Who in their right mind wants to follow 4 horrid self-indulgent cows in their various and terminally boring adventures.  Not to mention the fact that the damned thing is over 150 minutes. This film is nothing short of offensive- every male character, bar one that gets appallingly treated by slut in chief, is a complete cunt and don’t get me started on the women.

Bear in mind that nothing of any interest to man or beast happens in that time.

Mrs. Jarv, in a moment of weakness that got her Lovefilm privileges removed for 6 months rented this. Even she admitted it was shit.

1: Alien v Predator: Requiem

Fuck me. Where to begin?

How about this- setting it on Earth in the present day. Or what about the fact that some cunt forgot to turn the lights on when they were shooting? There isn’t a redeeming feature to this fetid pile of garbage.

However, the real reason it’s number 1 in the Hall of Infamy is: The Predalien

Who in their right mind thought this piece of depressing fanboy wankery was a good idea? Who? Tell me, and I’ll feed them their own entrails.

A bad idea, poorly executed and even were the rest of the film as good as Alien (which it isn’t) then this would still be enough to make it the worst film of the last ten years.

However, when you add this little touch to the aforementioned poor effort, then you get what I think is the worst film for the last 20 years.

Alien v Predator: Requiem is a film so bad that it makes Uwe Boll look like Stanley Kubrick.

If anyone wants to give me more suggestions, then I’ll gladly expand this- it’s fun to do and I can summon up some real hatred for a lot of these films.

HarperCollins recently revealed the cover art for The Carrie Diaries, the first of two prequels to Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell . The YA novel is written from the perspective of Carrie Bradshaw as a teenager and goes on sale in late April 2010, just a few weeks before the theater release of the Sex and the City movie sequel in May.

Sex and the City fans have more to look forward to than “Sex and the City 2” (in theaters May 28, 2010). On April 27, Candace Bushnell’s Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries (part 1 of 2) will hit shelves. The cover was revealed yesterday.

Whereas Bushnell’s original Sex and the City—published in 1996, two years before we ever saw Sarah Jessica Parker swoon over Mr. Big—was an adult novel based on Bushnell’s columns in The New York Observor, The Carrie Diaries are being published by HarperCollins’ kids imprint Balzer + Bray (the novel is for teens 14 & up, according to the pub info). The diary will chronicle Carrie’s high school years.

In a statement from HarperCollins, Bushnell said, “I’ve always been interested in exploring Carrie’s teenage years. . . Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd—she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene.”

The cover art is supposedly related to an incident with Carrie’s mother. Any predictions?
