Cred ca poti sa iti iubesti familia, prietenii, oamenii care te inconjoara, insa cred ca cel mai mult te iubesti pe tine… iar daca nu o faci cu atat mai rau.

Am fost intrebata de multe ori cum reusesc, care ar fi reteta care te poate transforma intr-o femme fatale?

Uneori, privind toate acele femei, imi inchipui cum ar arata altfel imbracate, altfel aranjate si imi dau seama cat de ignorante sunt. Frumusetea se cultiva, se intretine, se poarta cu maiestrie… restul e comun…. iar comunul nu va fi niciodata remarcat.

Inainte de a vrea sa invatati cum sa faceti sex, ar trebui sa invatati sa traiti. Am intrebat la un moment dat o femeie: tu ai face sex cu tine? S-a privit si mi-a spus ca nu. Daca si raspunsul tau e acelasi… nu e bine…. nu e bine deloc.

Sarah Palin - Going Rogue

The Sarah Palin comeback tour has officially begun this week with interviews and a small town book tour, promoting Going Rogue.

In fact, I want to call this the beginning of the Sarah Palin grassroots campaign tour for the 2012 presidential election as she travels through midwestern towns (one just 30 miles from where I’m originally from) discussing her book and current ideals on the country. But as many feel her time in the political world has long surpassed its run and it is time to throw in the towel, Sarah Palin has cautiously and strategically positioned herself to be a potential force in the future. For the former governor has used her image to place her on numerous magazine covers and even landed her an interview for The Oprah Winfrey Show.

In an essence, Sarah Palin’s position in the political sector is what Dolly Parton is to the entertainment industry. For both women use their looks, small town ideals and naive disposition to appeal to a crowd that will provide them the success they need to stay afloat in each respected demographic. And what’s completely ironic about this whole situation is that though Parton’s act has been widely accepted through numerous demographics, Palin has only managed to gain approval from the dominant male group. And frankly, that is all she needs to do in order to survive in the political world…gain attention to those who make the stories run.

When we first saw this former Alaskan beauty queen, she was standing behind the podium in St. Paul, Minnesota, accepting her nomination as vice-president of the United States. Many had the slightest clue where this woman came from for she was never considered to be a front-runner for the position. In fact, many media outlets were clueless because out of the many months Sen. John McCain had after the primaries (reminder, he won the GOP nomination back in April/May…way before the Obama/Clinton fiasco was finished), he decided to pick a woman whom had little to no political experience outside of Alaska.

This apparently was evident because not soon after she began campaigning alongside McCain, she found herself in a media frenzy with her as the bait. She made countless mistakes in network media (who can forget the Katie Couric interview) and was also satirically written into weekly Saturday Night Live skits (This further catapulted Tina Fey’s fame as an actress).

But through all of the scrutiny, she was still able to form a following. Surprisingly enough, she was able to use her sex appeal even as she promoted her Alaskan heritage and small town morals. And in going further, Palin was able to break the stereotype of the typical female politician because she was not one who spoke out asking the general electorate to disregard her race, but instead, she confirmed her gender to the public and stated said to judge her as is.

Palin’s tactic was one no other female politician ever chose to do. Even Hillary Clinton, as questioned during the primaries on her toughness, had to relate her own personal traits to a man’s perspective instead of a woman’s. Clinton had to prove to the general public she was tough enough to withstand the pressures and morbid future this country faces. Overall, Clinton had to fit a masculine male’s role instead of her own female self.

This was not the case for Palin and ultimately, in my opinion, it is what caused women to repel against her. Like Parton, Palin amped up her beauty to further appeal to the already salivating male genre, which ultimately cost the GOP potentially millions of votes. It wasn’t her air ball interviews or her cheesy speeches (remember “maverick” during the one and only presidential debate?). Those mistakes only aided to the whole idea that a sexually provocative women was selected as a vice-presidential candidate for the country. It was what turned men on but turned women away from the McCain/Palin ticket to a sensible Obama/Biden ballot.

With the outcome of November 4, 2008, many breathed a sigh of relief as they felt Palin would slowly and quietly tuck herself back into the boundaries of Alaska, where she belonged. But following her resignation as Alaska’s youngest governor, Palin flew under the radar and began to not only attend various GOP funded events but she also penned her latest book, Going Rogue, which is already a bestseller as it is expected to sell over a million copies its first week.

In her book, she writes on the ‘08 election and continues to maintain her image as a good ol’ gal from Alaska. In her interview with Oprah yesterday, she repeatedly spoke of her memories from her childhood and her day to day life as a normal moral American. By doing this, she further thrusts herself into the political gossip of 2012. She chooses to maintain/strive for a positive PR image as this grassroots movement is setting its foundation. Palin took the time to pin her book and in turn, gave herself enough leverage to forge a possible career in national politics.

In doing so, Palin will continue to be what she has always been. She will dress and look like a glamorized soccer mom in her 40s while all the while preaching her moral Alaskan roots. It’s the image she’s created and therefore she will maintain it until the end. But what she needs to do in order be be considered credible is to stop being the headlining target of the media and get down to business as a politician. She must show what she is passionate about through her actions rather than a best-selling book. By doing this, then she could be seen as a reliable and real political figure.

Now, I am by no means a Sarah Palin supporter but I do have to give her credit for being able to hang around the news for this length of time. In all honesty, I thank her for giving the election to Obama because she didn’t just hand it over, she served it to him on a cold cut platter. But through it all, we still read about this woman on a weekly basis because for some reason the country is still fascinated by this woman. Whether or not people believe she is suitable for a national public office (believe me, no one believes she is), Palin has still been able to generate a significant political buzz that really only Obama has been able to do over a long period of time. She has been seen as a normal person wanting to create a change in this country (though I don’t really consider her homophobic, Bible-thumpin’, animal hunting tactics as the change needed for this country).

We just need to realize that Going Rogue is her attempt at a comeback and a way for the public to realize the media will never stop with its fascination on this woman.

And yes, you bet I’m going to get my hands on this book.

it’s all about sex appeal, and it seems that the cash-poor, unglamorous, ramen filled world of startups has managed to overtake the steel and glass tall buildings, expense accounts and suit and tie life of investment banking in the eyes of college students. of course the first reaction most people while have is d’oh, financial crisis mr blogger? isn’t it obvious. they’ve probably already clicked out.

for those of you who haven’t, i want to engage in a conversation with you that suggests the fundamentals of why young people are thinking more seriously about getting involved in startups, either by founding one, or joining one early-stage, is more fundamental than the economy and the fewer job opportunities on wall street. When I threw away my aspirations to be an investment banking superstar (check out the loser on the left), I thought I was being some kind of rebel, but as most instance in my life, nothing all that special, just context. If you look around, you see a new breed of college student, people call us Gen Yers, Generation U, Millenials. At Blank Label we call ‘us’ Connected Individuals, and have coined the term #CONNECTEDINDIVIDUALISM. We’re impatient, generally needy, have been brought up fairly entitled, mostly in small families. We associate with independence, we see more young people than ever doing really cool shit. And that really cool shit is not making money off the buying and selling of others. Yes, that was a jibe at bankers.

But if you think about those characteristics as a generation we generally embody, a lot of them are closely correlated with why young people are starting companies these days. We’re giving the finger to the corporate rat race. We’re thankfully irrational enough to think we actually have a decent shot of founding a startup, I’m sure by serious of orders of magnitude if you measured what young founders thought their chance of success was vs what was realistic based on balance of probabilities, the economy would be seriously worried. Thankfully that’s a hard study to do. What the real catalyst driving a lot of this is the actual success of young entrepreneurs.  Much of the reason why I wanted to go into banking is because peers who were a few years older were talking about the six figure salary, the friday night open bar parties, the ass-kicking intensity. This was all incredibly sexy to me. And amazingly, sex appeal is important to a young 20 something year old male. With the growing list of young rockstar entrepreneurs spread around, the attention has turned to being sexy by starting a company. And think about the ego rush of a young person hiring someone older than them. Damn! And the king of them all Zucks is getting a freaking movie made about him!

Entrepreneurs south of 30 will always be a minority in comparison to those who spend time as academics or research experts, those who get corporate gigs, and those who just want to spend their time surfing. Everyone’s different, everyone’s passionate about different things, and I fully respect that. But there’s no doubt in my mind that this generational group of entrepreneurs has been growing over the last 10 years, and will grow at an even quicker rate in the next 10 years. Make no mistake, I am not qualifying necessarily massive hits from young entrepreneurs, only that more young people are founding companies or getting involved in startups. What this really stresses is that there’s an amazing opportunity for schools, government and the investment community to seriously change the impact young people have the future of the world, and it’s amazing how large an impact small tweaks can have.

Rejection by a date is hard enough, but how bad must it feel to be rejected by the entire dating site for being unattractive?
Ask a Brit. Only 12 percent of British men and 15 percent of British women have been accepted by super-shallow dating site BeautifulPeople.com, according to an article in The Telegraph. This statistic officially steals the “Dating Douche” title away from iPhone users and bestows it on BeautifulPeople.com founder, Robert Hintze.
The Danish website has existing members judge new applicant photos over a 48-hour period with answers ranging from ’Yes definitely’, ‘Hmmm yes, OK’, ‘Hmmm no, not really’ and ‘NO definitely NOT.’

Apparently their members don’t have day-jobs or have nothing else to do with their time: in the past two weeks, the site has rejected more than 1.8 million dating hopefuls and has accepted only 360,000 members. Applicants from Sweden, Brazil and Norway have the most success, while punters from the UK and Germany have the least. Overall, five out of six applicants are turned away.
These statistics are amusing, but I’m more interested in success rates, which are notably absent from press releases. Do members who fork over the $25 monthly fee have any more luck finding love online than at other sites? Not for British founding member Greg Hodge — although he was accepted to BeautifulPeople.com (only in Japan), he met his wife offline.

Few men can deny the sex appeal of a woman wearing a seamed stocking. It doesn’t matter if the dress or skirt is short or mid length since the seam will cause an equal amount of furor in the men who gaze at them no matter what the length of the garment being worn.

Until quite recently, I have always been baffled by the almost complete male preoccupation with how a woman looks. They seem to have this huge preoccupation with the female form. Until recently, I couldn’t find that understandable. I’ve never been particularly struck by the male form. It wasn’t until I began watching “Firefly” on dvd that I realized what it’s like to look at someone of the opposite gender and feel your mouth drop open.

I never really had much exposure as a child to anything that remotely objectified men. Think about it; most television and movies focus heavily on exposing women. Sure, they try to find the most facially appealing men, but there is little nudity for men. I think it’s been changing more now, or maybe I’ve just noticed more now. I think that may in part be due to the fact that men aren’t really considered partially nude when they’re topless. We are trained (as a society) to think of the male chest being exposed as if it’s of no more consequence than if the man were barefoot. Women have protrusions in the same area that make thinking that way about them harder to do. It is more socially normal for a man to be shirtless, and it can be rather commonplace.

I always considered it commonplace until now. There was something about seeing Sean Maher shirtless that was decidedly perception-altering. Is it possible to be so surprised by a man’s appearance? The first thing I think every time I look at that picture is a resounding, “WOW!” Followed immediately by, “Oh my…” Yes, that’s a picture for the annals of history. I think I now get how a person’s physical appearance can inspire fantasy… but I don’t think I could ever let it get in the way of having a real relationship with someone attainable. I think I’d sooner meet Father Christmas than Sean Maher. Even if I ever met him, what are the chances he’d be as attractive to talk with? Very slim. The bottom line is that famous people may be great to look at, but I’m not holding out for a television character.
