With the economy still in a recession, the nonprofit world has been in a whirlwind trying to adjust to the decline of state and federal funding. Not only has government support decreased, so have the number of people willing and able to donate. The Breast Cancer Charities of America [BCCA] have chosen to use this grim economy as a platform to think of creative ways to raise funds, as well as awareness for their amazing cause.

In 2010, BCCA launched the iGoPink Campaign, a fashion-forward approach to further help the organization build partnerships to achieve their goals. The main object of this campaign was to work with renowned fashion brands who would create exclusive pieces to be sold for BCCA. Shea Curry, founder and designer of Shameless Jewelry, joined the campaign by designing a pink and silver, iGO Bracelet. All proceeds from the sales were donated directly to the organization.

Not only has this helped expand awareness of BCCA into Canada and the United Kingdom, it was also the perfect solution to help alleviate the loss of funds from the weltering economy. Over $8 million dollars were raised while bringing awareness to celebrities and the public, alike.

Now that is thinking outside the box!
