It’s high time that “moderate muslims” if such a thing exists took a stand against their brethren and nailed their colours to the mast.I’m pleased this happened perhaps this will trigger a response.

Baroness Warsi could have been forgiven for saying she would never put her well-heeled foot in the Bedfordshire town again.

Minutes earlier, as darkness fell on Monday evening, the Tory peer had been cornered by a group of finger-jabbing young Islamists who had pelted her with eggs, accusing her of causing Muslim deaths in Afghanistan.

The mob chanted: ‘Shame on you!’ and one protester yelled loudly: ‘This woman doesn’t represent us’.

This was the unedifying scene confronting one of the rising stars of David Cameron’s top team who, as the shadow minister for community and social cohesion, was simply trying to engage in reasoned debate about Afghanistan during a walkabout in Bury Park, Luton’s Muslim area.

In the end, she was forced to retreat into the sari shop while police cleared the street of protesters. It was an hour before she could safely leave to attend a speaking engagement at a nearby Conservative club Read more in the MAIL

Daily Mail – Baroness Warsi, the Conservative shadow minister for community cohesion and social action, was visiting Luton with one of her party’s election candidates. But during a visit to the Bury Park area, she was confronted by protesters who shouted her down before throwing several eggs, one of which hit her and another landed on a supporter. With egg yolk running through her hair, the Baroness attempted to reason with the members of outlawed extremist group Al-Muhajiroun – only to be harangued.

You see the tolerance and acceptance of Islam, this is how they behave towards a muslim woman, imagine if it were us kuffars who were strutting around Luton under the illusion that it was a free country and all that. Further on you see just why these muslims were not all that happy with said Baroness.

Self-styled leader of the Luton branch of Al-Muhajiroun, Sayful Islam, denied the group was behind the attack but refused to condemn what had happened. …’Baroness Warsi needs to be exposed. She is somebody who pretends to be a practising Muslim but from her views and statements she is clearly against Sharia.’

And still the bonehead apologists for islam keep telling us that they’re here to integrate, they mean us no harm, no worries, it’s all good, shut up and move along. I sure hope that said Baroness what’s-her-face has her eyes opened with this little spectacle and actually does something about scum like this.

For this is merely the beginning, yesterday muslims were just asking for mosques and to be allowed to pray and all that, then it moved to the odd honor-killing, islamic enclaves and what not. Then they started asking Christians to please @#$% off out the neighborhood, jumping for joy when 9/11 happened, insulting returning soldiers etc. Today they throw eggs at those who offend them and they insist on more sharia. Tomorrow they’ll be throwing stones at us, best get some of your own to throw back.

On the 29th of November, Switzerland voted to ban the new construction of minarets. The Swiss People’s Party (SVP) has put forth this proposal, claiming that minarets are a symbol of “Islamisation.”

57% of the votes and 22 out of 26 provinces voted in favour of the ban. The government has opposed the ban in the preset that it would harm Switzerland’s image, especially in the Muslim world.

Martin Baltisser, the SVP’s general secretary said, “This was a vote against minarets as symbols of Islamic power.”  This vote is believed to stop the threat of radical fundamentalism.

Islam is the second biggest religion in Switzerland after Christianity, with 400, 000 Muslim citizens and there are only four minarets in the whole country. Proposals to build more minarets are almost always refused.

Supporters believe that the minaret is a symbol of Islamic power and hope to stop the growth of Sharia Law which may try to supplement Swiss democracy.

Many believe that this campaign has been incited by hatred. Amnesty International has said that the vote violated freedom of religion.

Elham Manea, co-founder of the Forum for a Progressive Islam said this about what the vote represents towards Muslims, “It’s a message that you are not welcome here as true citizens of this society.”

‘Despicable’

I find this vote to be absolutely absurd and definitely incited by hatred towards Islam and its followers. Minarets a symbol of Islamic power? That’s the most the hilarious thing I’ve heard since a man said that America won the Vietnam war.

As a Muslim, I can clearly say that minarets are not a symbol of Islamic power. And building more does not mean that there is “Islamisation” going on. Are the Swiss really that idiotic?

Clearly, this vote is nothing but hatred against Muslims, saying that they do not belong anywhere in Europe. This violates freedom of religion!

Churches can have all sorts of stained glass and towers, but mosques cannot have even the smallest minaret? If this is not hatred towards Islam then what is it?

Europe is fearing something that does not exist, Islam is not trying to take over. Muslims are just trying to practice their religion as is decreed by the Qur’an. Yes, there is radical fundamentalism going on, but it is by the smallest amount of radicals that shouldn’t be feared.

If minarets are banned first, then Hijabs will be banned, soon the sale and purchase of Qur’ans will be banned, and then what next? Muslims will be banned from travelling to Europe altogether?

If creating such laws and banning freedoms continues like this, then obviously radical fundamentalism will be on the rise. There is no doubt that more extremism will continue.

Switzerland and Europe had created an extreme of its own, and radical Muslims are using their own form of extremism to combat the first. It’s like fighting fire with fire.

I only hope that this ban is appealed before “Islamophobia” is dramatically rises ever more.

British mother Rebecca Jones is fighting to win back her son Adam, 10, after a Sharia court in Qatar awarded custody of the boy to her dead ex-husband’s family.Mrs Jones says her son was “kidnapped” while visiting his Arab relatives in the Gulf state eight weeks ago. She claims she was tricked into signing legal documents she did not understand.

Mrs Jones, a former bank executive who lives in Bahrain, has been told after a series of Sharia hearings that she is no longer the legal guardian of Adam. With the backing of human rights campaigners she is now seeking to have the case transferred to Qatar’s civil courts.Last week she was allowed to meet Adam for the first time since he was taken away. During the tearful encounter she says the boy, who suffers from dyspraxia, begged to return home with his mother.Mrs Jones, 43, who is originally from Sheffield, moved to Bahrain 25 years ago where her father worked for the Merchant Navy. She married Adam’s father, Jamal Al Madhaiki, in 1998. They were divorced the following year but remained on good terms until he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2005.

She was remarried in 2003 to Barrie Jones and the couple have a four-year-old daughter, Alex.Mrs Jones believes her ex-husband’s family took Adam, who has dual British-Qatari nationality, on Oct 5 because they hope to control his inheritance. She says she has been sent sinister messages including a threat that “Rebecca does not have a son any more” The case has prompted huge protests from members of the British expatriate community in the Middle East, with more than 6,500 people joining a support group on Facebook.

The British Embassy has intervened and its representations meant that on Thursday, Mrs Jones was finally allowed to see her son for three hours in the Qatari capital, Doha.Mrs Jones said that during the visit, her son had appeared physically well, but emotionally distraught.

“He was crying the whole time and clinging to me, it broke my heart,” she said. “I said to him that we have a big problem because he’s not at home, and I have been tricked. He asked if he was like Madeleine McCann.”I said I was going to bring him home but I didn’t want to tell him too much and because I didn’t want to leave him petrified.”Seeing him as made me even more determined, I’m like a tiger with her cubs and I will do anything to get him back.”Full story telegraph.

A recent article in the Financial Times reported the efforts of the Swiss  to protect the architectural history of the country by voting “yes” in a national referendum to a ban against the construction of minarets. But an editorial in the Wall Street Journal reprinted in an excellent blog, Cervantes, clarifies the situation:

The construction of new minarets is banned, but the building of mosques is unaffected, and the vote does not affect the four existing minarets in the country. Nobody’s freedom of worship is threatened, but a symbolic message has been sent.

The ban, in other words, does too much and too little at once. Too much because it becomes a very visible and easily exploited symbol of supposed European intolerance. But it accomplishes too little because it seeks merely to hide from view the problems that gave rise to the fear of the minaret in the first place.

The most famous structure with minarets is the Taj Mahal – one of the 7 “new” wonders of the world.

The four detached minarets springing from the plinth of the Taj Mahal measure 138 feet high and stand like sentries nobly keeping guard. They were built out of plumb, slanting so that if they were to topple, they would fall not towards the Taj, but away from the building, protecting the tomb from harm. They also form a visual framework to the Taj proper and enhance the symmetry of the building.

The classic minaret developed into a cylinder shape capped with a miniature dome, but they can be continuously cylindrical from a square base, or multifaceted shafts. Minarets can also be attached to the main structure, like these at Akbar’s tomb in Sikandra which was built between 1604 and 1614.

Originating from the Arabic term ‘manar‘ which means ‘beacon’ or ‘lighthouse’, a minaret is the epitome of Islamic architecture. It is the place from where the ‘muezzin’ or crier chants the call to prayer five times a day. Early Mosques were often without minarets and the muezzin would stand on a raised point, or even a ladder. [The Minaret and the Muezzin]

Opponents of the initiative reacted with dismay, but tried to play down the potential political and economic repercussions, amid fears Switzerland could face the same sort of backlash experienced by Denmark after the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed.

Switzerland’s big multinational companies had warned of the dangers of a “yes” vote, amid fears that it could prompt actions against Swiss interests in Muslim countries or calls for a boycott of Swiss products.

“There is certainly a danger that some groups in certain countries might call for a boycott” , said Gerold Bührer, chairman of the Economiesuisse business federation.

SVP leaders remained unabashed. The party, which has come to dominate Swiss politics over the past 15 years through strident populist campaigns, has made an issue of the “Islamization” of Swiss society.

However, other SVP politicians took pains to distinguish between political Islam – the target of their campaign – and the Muslim faith.

Claude Lonchamp, a leading political commentator, said the strength of the “yes” vote, which went well beyond the SVP’s traditional base, showed the party had capitalised on widespread, if ill-defined, fears of Islam as a political, and potentially violent, force. [Financial Times]

In the article quoted above, it was noted that passage of the measure largely depended on  stoking fears of Islam and Muslims.  As a countermeasure to the anti- Islamization movement, an organization, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), has been an outspoken critic of anti-Islamic actions and measures:

[Its] aim is to punish and suppress any alleged Islamophobia, around the world but particularly in Europe…[.]

The OIC is one of the largest intergovernmental organizations in the world. It encompasses 56 Muslim states plus the Palestinian Authority. Spread over four continents, it claims to speak in the name of the ummah (the universal Muslim community), which numbers about 1.3 billion. The OIC’s mission is to unite all Muslims worldwide by rooting them in the Koran and the Sunnah — the core of traditional Islamic civilization and values. It aims at strengthening solidarity and cooperation among all its members, in order to protect the interests of Muslims everywhere and to galvanize the ummah into a unified body. In Europe today, Islamic architecture is just part of the problem but it is a highly visible symbol of radical change, as are burkas. The proposed establishment of Sharia law in European countries by Muslim radicals and their efforts to resurrect the Caliphate and take it global are clearly alarming. Radical Muslims have utilized freedoms found in democratic states to aid in their move to establish Islamic theocracies in the west that would, ironically deprive the average citizen of the freedoms they now enjoy in the west.

Because there is a worldwide movement to establish a global Caliphate [Caliphate Totally Defined], the study of these issues is critical to the survival of western culture.  In the United States, while most of our Muslim fellow citizens are moderate, more radical Muslims are living among them. As a result, these issues are becoming increasingly discussed here.

Here is a partial explanation of the more radical movement to establish a global Caliphate:

According to author [of Caliphate Totally Explained], Lawrence Wright, Ayman al-Zawahiri, an active member of the Muslim Brotherhood, “sought to restore the caliphate, the rule of Islamic clerics, which had formally ended in 1924 following the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire but which hadn’t exercised real power since the thirteenth century. Once caliphate was established, Zawahiri believed, Egypt would become a rallying point for the rest of the Islamic world, leading the jihad against the West. “Then history would make a new turn, God willing,” Zawahiri later wrote, “in the opposite direction against the empire of the United States and the world’s Jewish government.”
One transnational group whose ideology is based specifically on restoring the caliphate as a pan-Islamic state, is Hizb ut-Tahrir (literally: “party of liberation”). It’s particularly strong in Central Asia, Europe and growing in strength in the Arab world and is based on the claim that Muslim can prove that God exists and that the Qur’an is the word of God. Search Results for ” harunyaya.com “ Hizb-Ut-Tahrir stated strategy is a non-violent political and intellectual struggle.

As mentioned above, the “weakness of democracies”  -  their freedoms, are being used against them as is the pressure of “political correctness.”  Beyond that it is the specter of economic “punishments” that countries who take measures against Islamization will encounter.

But by far the most egregious example of both the power of political correctness and democratic governments curtailing free speech when anti-Islamists speak out has been the ban against the outspoken Dutch filmmaker Geert Wilders from entering Britain.  Here is an excerpt from his acceptance speech for the Freedom Award he was given by the Florida Security Council in Miami April 27, 2009:

“The take-over of Europe is part of the global fight of Islam for world domination”

The free world is now facing a ‘stealth Jihad’, the Islamic’ attempt to introduce Sharia law bit by bit. Allow me to give you a few examples of Islamization in the United States: Muslim taxi drivers at Minneapolis airport have refused over 5,000 passengers because they were carrying alcohol; Muslim students are demanding separate campus housing; Muslim women are demanding separate hours in gyms and swimming pools; schools are banning Halloween and Christmas celebrations – indeed, schools are taking pork off their cafeteria menus to avoid offending Muslim students. Ladies and gentlemen, be aware that this is only the beginning. If things continue like this, you will have the same problems as we are currently faced with in Europe. [Jihad Watch]

In all the above, what stands out is the confusion caused by many angry voices raised in support of many interpretations of events as they unfold and against the ideological and religions values held by individuals and groups.  Some important questions rise from the dust:

1. What does the Koran really say about allowing believers to live peacefully along side their secular and/or non-believing fellow citizens?

2. Why are Britain and the EU suppressing the free speech of those who speak out against what they see as the Islamization of their cultural heritage?

3. Why may Muslims shout “racism” against those who would limit immigration so that one culture does not destroy another that has been long-established?

4. Is it really phobia against Muslim culture and Muslims themselves that makes Europeans react strongly against radical Islamists calling for the establishment of Sharia law and a global Caliphate?

5. How long can moderate Muslims remain moderate in the face of anti-Muslim behaviors?

6. How long can Europeans and other westerners refrain from speaking out and/or taking action on their views and values because of “fatwas” issued in all seriousness by radical Muslim clerics who approve the killing of unbelievers?

Surely there is little tolerance that would allow a rational discussion of the above issues. To date, answers have not been forthcoming and there have been few effective forums for discussion. There are those who believe that Europe has effectively been lost to Islam. The question there is no longer one of “will this happen?” but “how did this happen?” and of course “should it have happened ?”

Suicide Bombing

Al-Nisa (The Women) Sura 4: Verse 29 (Partial)

“… And kill yourselves not, for God is truly Merciful to you.”

People who are driven to despair are thus reminded to have faith in God’s mercy in the hope that they may be relieved of their suffering. Since suicide is prohibited, anyone who tries to facilitate it, or acts as an accomplice, is also liable to a deterrent punishment that may be quantified by the court while taking into consideration the material circumstances of the case. Commentators have, moreover, drawn a five-point conclusion from this verse as follows:

1. the obvious meaning is that suicide is forbidden;

2. the text also stipulates that ‘you may not kill one another’ nor facilitate suicide;

3. one may not undertake a task which is likely to cause his own death, even if it be in lieu of a religious obligation;

4. no one should deprive himself of the necessities of life to the point of self-destruction; and

5. the text covers cases of self-destruction regardless of the manner in which it is done.

The manuals of Islamic law are silent on the issue of suicide bombing, a disturbing phenomenon of our time that became frequent in connection with Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially when Israel unleashed a new wave of aggression on the street processions of unarmed Palestinian youth in 2000-1. The aftermath of 11 September 2001 and more recently the horrendous violence in Iraq and Afghanistan, added new dimensions to the incidence of suicide bombing among Muslims.

Suicide bombing in the name of Islam is a ’sociopolitical phenomenon, not a theological one’. And any long-term solution to the problem must also address the causes that have brought so much pain and hopelessness to many Muslim societies.

It would be simplistic to lump the Palestinian suicide bombing with Al-Qaedah terrorist activities. One can hardly deny the genuine suffering of the Palestinian people and legitimacy of their struggle against sustained Israeli brutalities. It would appear equally simplistic, however, to equate suicide bombing with martyrdom and jihad. This is because suicide bombing contravenes two fundamental principles of Islam: prohibition against suicide, and deliberate killing of non-combatants. The argument that proceeds over reciprocity and retaliation is also flawed by the involvement of innocent non-combatants in suicide bombing.

Those who have raised the issue of ‘collateral damage’ in this context have also exaggerated their case, simply because non-combatants are chosen as the direct target of suicide bombing. They are, as such, neither collateral nor incidental.

The Muslim fighter who is motivated by the spirit of jihad enters the battle, not with the intention of dying, but with the conviction that if he should die, it would be for reasons beyond his control. Martyrdom in Islam does not begin with suicidal intention, let alone the linkage of that intention with the killing of non-combatants.

To justify suicide bombing under the banner of retaliation, or as a form of jihad, is therefore questionable, simply because it begins on an erroneous note, which goes against the essence both of just retaliation and justified jihad.

The Sunnah in Performing “Ablution”

1.  Mentioning the name of Allah-In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful [saying: bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim]

2.  Washing the hands thrice.

3.  [Starting by] Rinsing the mouth and nose before washing the face.

4.  Rinsing the nose by one’s left hand. This is because it is mentioned in the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), “washed his hands thrice, then he rinsed his mouth and washed his nose with water by putting water in it and blowing it out, and he washed his face thrice…) [Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim].

5.  Exaggerating in rinsing one’s mouth and nose if not fasting by moving water around the mouth and snuffing water to the end of one’s nose. This is because of the hadith, “…and snuff with water well except when you are fasting”. [Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawoud, ibn Maja and An-Nasa'i].

6.  Rinsing one’s mouth and nose with the same handful of water. This is because of the hadith, “He [the Prophet] put his hand [into the vessel containing water] rinsed his mouth and his nose”. [Bukhari and Muslim].

7.  Using tooth stick [Ar. Siwak] before rinsing one’s mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him says, “Had I not thought it difficult for my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the Siwak (tooth-stick) before every Prayer.”[Narrated by Ahmed and An-Nasa'i].

8.  Running one’s wet finger through the beard upon washing the face. It is mentioned in the hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him used to run his wet finger through his beard while performing ablution. [Al-Thirmithi].

9.  Wiping over one’s head. This is performed as follows: passing one’s wet hands over the head from front to back and so forth. As for obligatory wiping over one’s head, it is to wipe over one’s head in any way. It is narrated that the Messenger of Allah used to pass his hands over his head [in ablution] from the front to the back. [Bukhari and Muslim].

10.     Running wet fingers between the fingers and toes. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Perform your ablution perfectly and let water to run between the fingers [and toes]“.

11.     Washing the right [limb] before the left. It is narrated in the hadith that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): “Used to start from the right side on wearing shoes, combing his hair, cleaning or washing himself and on doing anything else” [Bukhari and Muslim].

12.     Performing the actions thrice when washing the face, hands and foot.

13.     Saying the two testifications of faith [Ar.Shahadatan] after finishing ablution. Meaning, to says, “I testify that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger”. It is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ” If anyone amongst you performs the ablution perfectly and then says: I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and His Messenger, the eight gates of Paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes”. [Muslim]

14.     Performing ablution in one’s house. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Whoever purifies in his house and walks to the mosque to perform obligatory prayer, his steps are counted as one expiates a sin and the other raises his rank” [Muslim]

15.       Passing one’s hand over the limb while or after washing.

16.     Using little amount of water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to use little amount of water in ablution. [Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim]

17.     Washing above the limits of the four limbs [hands and foot]. It is narrated that Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ablution, he washed his arm up to the elbows and his feet up to the ankles and said: this is how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution”. [Muslim]

18.     Performing two rak’ahs [Eng. Units of prayer] after ablution. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, ” He who performs ablution like this of mine and then stood up (for prayer) and offered two rak’ahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, all his previous sins are expiated” [Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim]

In a report by Muslim through ‘Uqba ibn ‘Amir: “He will be rewarded by nothing except Paradise”.

19.     Perfecting one’s ablution: washing each part perfectly. Muslims vary in times of performing ablution during the day, and everyone has to observe these Sunan in every time he performs ablution.

   Virtue of observing the above Sunan:

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “He who performed ablution perfectly, his sins would come out from his body, even coming out from under his nails.” [Muslim].

Islamic Extremists Execute Young Convert in Somalia

NAIROBI, Kenya, November 23 (CDN) — Islamic extremists controlling part of the Somali capital of Mogadishu this month executed a young Christian they accused of trying to convert a 15-year-old Muslim to Christianity.

Members of the Islamic extremist group al Shabaab had taken 23-year-old Mumin Abdikarim Yusuf into custody on Oct. 28 after the 15-year-old boy reported him to the militants, an area source told Compass. Yusuf’s body was found on Nov. 14 on an empty residential street in Mogadishu, with sources saying the convert from Islam was shot to death, probably some hours before dawn.

“Our brother Yusuf has been murdered,” the source told Compass. “His body was dumped in Yaqshid district of Mogadishu, and his body is said to be on an empty residential street.”

Al Shabaab, said to have links with al Qaeda terrorists, controls parts of Mogadishu and much of southern parts of Somalia, as well as other areas of the nation.

Their accusations against Yusuf had led the extremist group to raid Yusuf’s home in Holwadag district, Mogadishu, sources said. After searching his home, militia didn’t find anything relating to Christianity but still took him into custody.

Before Yusuf was executed by two shots to the head, reports filtered in to the Compass source that he had been badly beaten and his fingers broken as the Islamists tried to extract incriminating evidence against him and information about other Christians. The source later learned that Yusuf’s body showed signs of torture; all of his front teeth were gone, and some of his fingers were broken, he said.

“We don’t know the time he was murdered, but his freshly killed body was dumped in Yaqshid district at around 4:30 in the morning of Nov. 14, and due to the will of the family we have buried the body at around 3 p.m. on Nov. 14,” the source said.

The clandestine Christians could not safely identify themselves to Yusuf’s Muslim family, but they were able to indirectly assist the parents in burying him with dignity, the source said.

It is not known whether under torture Yusuf revealed information about area members of the hidden church, but underground church leaders have been relocating local Christians who knew him, the source said.

“We still don’t know if the Shabaab did find any new evidence from Yusuf,” he said.

Yusuf’s Muslim parents did not know that their son was a Christian, and they had insisted to the al Shabaab militants that he was still a Muslim, the source said. The extremists accused the family of not reporting that their son had converted to Christianity, and they ordered his mother and father to appear before an al Shabaab court.

Although the Compass source could not confirm whether the parents heeded the command, he said they most likely did as it is not uncommon for the militants to behead those who defy their orders.

“I cannot confirm if they appeared before the Islamist court, but that is highly possible,” he said. “Who can dare defy them?”

The extremists have demonstrated they have no qualms about killing those they perceive to be sympathetic to any “foreign” religion, the source said. He added that the Islamic extremists did not execute Yusuf quickly only because they had no evidence against him except the testimony of the teenage boy.

“In Islam, to execute someone you need to have evidence of three witnesses, and they didn’t have it,” he said. “Al Shabaab is known to do whatever they like, and they don’t even follow the rules of their religion they claim adherence to.”

The discovery of Yusuf’s body brought an end to a strenuous attempt by his family to secure his release, but they are now living in fear since al Shabaab has accused them of concealing their son’s new faith.

The source said Yusuf’s death was typical of the Islamic extremist group, which often pumps bullets into their victims before dumping their bodies in public places to serve as a warning to those who dare to resist its orders.

Since the ouster of dictator Siad Barre in 1991, Somalia has been without a strong central government and has been at the mercy of vicious clan-based militants. Some, such as al Shabaab, are seeking to establish a strict version of sharia (Islamic law) as they fight to oust the Transitional Federal Government of President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed that is backed by the Africa Union and Western nations.

Ending female abuse in Jordan

The head of the UN has called on men around the world to help end violence against women.

On the 10th International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Ban Ki -moon has unveiled a newly created ‘Network of Men’.

He wants prominent male leaders to act as role models to get more men to condemn violence against women, which takes place in many forms and in many countries around the world.

In Jordan, the UN says 43 per cent of women are victims of abuse.

WASHINGTON – While attorneys representing the co-author of “Muslim Mafia” were preparing late today to honor a federal court order to return documents obtained from the Council on American-Islamic Relations in an independent undercover operation, FBI agents served a warrant on a Washington, D.C., law office for the same documents.

The FBI agents entered the capital law offices of Cozen O’Connor tonight and issued a warrant for thousands of pages of documents as well as audio and video recordings gathered by P. David Gaubatz and his son Chris in a daring and lengthy undercover penetration of CAIR in which the younger Gaubatz served as an unpaid intern for the group that was labeled an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator in last year’s Holy Land Foundation trial.

CAIR claimed in a lawsuit that Gaubatz removed its papers and made recordings of employees “without any consent or authorization and in violation of his contractual fiduciary and other legal obligations.” A federal judge in Washington issued a restraining order Nov. 3 barring the Gaubatzes from further use or publication of the material – 12,000 pages of documents along with audio and video recordings – and demanding that they return it to the Muslim group’s lawyers.

However, last night the FBI stepped in with a warrant, suggesting the agency wants to see the papers and examine the recordings as part of its interest in CAIR and its Muslim Brotherhood links.

Joseph Farah, chief executive officer of WND and its subsidiary, WND Books, who has been raising money for the defense of his author and son, welcomed the FBI’s interest in the papers.

“Obviously, we were prepared to honor the court order from Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly,” he said.

Kollar-Kotelly – who as head of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court made several controversial decisions against the Bush administration’s counterterrorism policies – was criticized recently by many security experts for ruling against the military’s designation of a Guantanamo detainee as an enemy combatant, allowing the Obama administration to send him home.

“Now,” said Farah, “we will have to confer with the attorneys to determine what happens next. Which takes precedence – a federal court order or an FBI warrant? I trust this will be sorted out in the days to come. Personally, I would like to see these papers in the hands of trained FBI investigators. The revelations raised about CAIR in ‘Muslim Mafia’ have clearly piqued the agency’s interest.”

In fact, adds Farah, “I would say the nature of this warrant and the way it was served strongly suggests the FBI doesn’t want these documents returned to CAIR – where they were destined to be destroyed in the first place. We have always believed, as the Gaubatzes did, that there is valuable evidence here vital to the nation’s security.”

The FBI’s grand-jury subpoena is intended to preserve the status quo and not intended to require the Gaubatzes’ legal counsel to turn over the documents immediately – or before notifying Judge Kollar-Kotelly.

CAIR contends the documents were stolen. David Gaubatz insists the research described in his book, including securing the documents, “was conducted professionally and legally” in cooperation with law enforcement officials. Much of the relevant material is already in the hands of the FBI, he said.

The Gaubatzes are being represented by high-profile First Amendment specialist Martin Garbus, most famous for representing Daniel Ellsberg in the Pentagon Papers case. Garbus is teamed with Bernard Grimm of Cozen O’Connor in Washington and Daniel Horowitz in the San Francisco Bay area. Horowitz, a frequent TV legal analyst, represented talk-radio host Michael Savage in his lawsuit against CAIR. Grimm also is a regular commentator on the Fox News Channel, CNN and Court TV.

In Gaubatz’s book, “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America,” he and co-author Paul Sperry present firsthand evidence CAIR is acting as a front for a well-funded conspiracy of the Muslim Brotherhood – the parent of al-Qaida and Hamas – to infiltrate the U.S. and help pave the way for Saudi-style Islamic law to rule the nation.

In the lawsuit, however, CAIR, a self-described Muslim civil-rights group, does not defend itself against the book’s claims.

The FBI cut off ties to CAIR in January after the group was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation case in Texas, the largest terrorism-finance case in U.S. history. Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York and other senators have called for a government-wide ban on CAIR.

Garbus told WND he believes Americans have an interest in exposure of the CAIR documents, because they are relevant to federal law enforcement officials’ concerns about the group’s ties to terrorist operatives that threaten the nation’s security.

“The more information you have, the better able you are to form a judgment about the organization,” he said.

Garbus said the Gaubatz lawsuit has similarities to his defense of legal author and CNN commentator Jeffrey Toobin, who allegedly violated a confidentiality agreement with Iran-Contra investigator Lawrence E. Walsh in the early 1990s when he published a book about his experience as a member of the prosecution team. Garbus won the case on First Amendment grounds.

CAIR alleges Chris Gaubatz signed a confidentiality agreement when he worked as an intern for six months, but Gaubatz denies it, and CAIR reportedly says it has no copy of any agreement.

In any event, Horowitz says CAIR has bigger things to worry about: “If a grand jury hears even half of what is in the ‘Muslim Mafia,’ CAIR will be destroyed and its leaders could face massive prison terms.”

Can you tell me why we’re in Afghanistan? Are we really looking for Bin Ladin? The same old tired answers. The Taliban, Bin Ladin, what? Certainly it’s not that we’re opposed to sharia law as we’re allowing it to infiltrate our culture. Why do we even have such an army? Someone on the radio the other day said it was mandated by the Constitution to protect us. I can’t find that crap anywhere in our Constitution.

The real answer to our middle east problems is to get the heck out. These people have been at war for thousands of years and maybe that’s why the world thinks we’re arrogant. Because we think we’re going to go in there and end all this.

The first thing I always hear when I suggest this is, “What about Isreal?”. My friends let me tell you about Isreal. It’s not Isreal that needs protecting from us, they can take care of themselves. If anything we restrict them from having their way in the middle east. Isreal is a military powerhouse not to be triffled with that would make quick work of any invading force if not for our meddling. I said ANY invading force.

Why then are we in the middle east? This question has always puzzled me since I was very young and first found out what was going on there. As long as I can remember we have had a military presence there. The obvious answer is oil but that don’t seem to be adding up. We go in there and tear up and spend billions of dollars and all we get is higher gas prices. No, oil doesn’t make sence either.

How about control, are we trying to control some thing or some one? I don’t really see that happening. Everytime we go in there we seem to lose control. No, I think that if you’ll think about it you’ll find that the only thing happening here is a redistribution of wealth.

WHAT? Well think about it.

We have made the Saudi’s very wealthy. Every street urchin there has pockets full of American dollars. Oil money. As well as Viet Nam, Korea, Japan. Need I continue? WTF? Don’t listen to Hanoi Jane and her ilk on this. Those people are so much better off than they were that it makes me sick. Go there. See for yourself. Ask them. They will tell you.

The media goes in and finds all the hard luck stories to tear at your heart but the real story is that we brought these countries out of the middle ages and into the present. Has anyone been paying attention? The best thing that can happen to these third world holes is for us to drag our big, dumb, military butts in there and stimulate the heck out of their economy.

Radical Muslims seeking to spread their ideology in the United Kingdom have found a surprising ally—the British government. London has had many successes in combating terrorists like Al-Qaeda. Yet it is helping more politically adept Islamists gain power and prestige by accepting their pose as “moderates.”

Several recent appointments in the government show how the Islamists are gaining access inside the government. Azad Ali has been chosen to sit on a panel to advise the Crown Prosecution Service’s counter-terrorism chief, for example. Ali has previously lamented U.S. support for the “terrorist slaughter machine of the Zionist state of Israel,” and has spoken highly of Abdullah Azzam, the Muslim Brotherhood mentor of Osama Bin Laden, and Anwar al-Awlaki, the Al-Qaeda-linked imam in Yemen that was admired by Major Nidal Malik Hassan, the Fort Hood shooter, although he recently said he rejects al-Awlaki’s views.

Ali has also expressed his support for Hizb ut-Tahrir, an extremist group seeking to resurrect the caliphate and destroy Israel and “the new crusaders.” The Telegraph reported that he said he found “much truth” in a remark saying Muslims are required to kill U.S. and British soldiers in Iraq, but debate has ensued about whether Ali was referring to that specific statement. Whatever the case, Ali’s views cannot be placed in the “moderate” category.

Another individual, Asim Hafeez, described as a “hardcore Salafi” by one of his colleagues, has been chosen as the head of intervention at the Office of Security and Counterterrorism. Mockbul Ali requested that the British government permit one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s top theologians, Sheikh Youself al-Qaradawi entry into the country and has been promoted to “Head of Prevent, Counter Ideology” at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He also used his position to try to get a visa for Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, a member of Bangladesh’s parliament, despite his statement that the U.K. and U.S. “deserve all that is coming to them” for forcibly removing the Taliban from power.

Mockbul Ali also serves as a member of the Foreign Office’s Engaging with the Islamic World Group and has been accused of promoting the Muslim Brotherhood. He “had a key role in coordinating seven Muslim taskforces set up by Tony Blair to tackle extremism in the wake of the July 7 bombings [of 2005].” Prior to his career in government service, he was an editor of a newspaper published by the Union of Muslim Students that praised a Palestinian female suicide bomber who killed two Israeli civilians in Jerusalem in March 2002.

The Department of Communities and Local Government is talking to the Muslim Council of Britain’s former secretary-general, Sir Iqbal Sacranie, about involving the group in the government’s efforts. This move came despite an earlier decision made by the British government earlier this year to end its relationship with the organization after its deputy director-general, Dr. Daud Abdullah, signed the Istanbul Declaration that called for Muslims to “carry on with the jihad and resistance against the occupier until the liberation of all Palestine,” meaning until Israel is destroyed. The declaration also called on Muslims to attack any foreign forces trying to stop the flow of people or arms to the Gaza Strip, where Hamas was facing an Israeli offensive. This meant that British naval forces involved in such efforts could be targeted.

The Centre for Social Cohesion reports that the British government has awarded $80,000 in taxpayer money to the Muslim Brotherhood to help fight extremism. The funding is going to the Muslim Welfare House, a member of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe, which the Centre says acts as the representative of Muslim Brotherhood on the continent. Three of the five directors of the Muslim Welfare House also served as directors of the Muslim Association of Britain, another Brotherhood affiliate, until 2007. The report says that one of those three directors has openly supported Hamas.

The British government has made the mistake of thinking such organizations are “moderate” just because their tactics are less dramatic than Al-Qaeda and they do not support attacking civilians, except for Israelis.

“Although the MB [Muslim Brotherhood] does not present a direct terrorist threat, it promotes an ideology which helped create modern jihadist terrorism and is fundamentally incompatible with western notions of statehood,” the Centre for Social Cohesion’s Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens writes.

Even extremists found guilty of engaging in terrorist acts are being given soft treatment by the British judicial system. Three senior judges ruled in July 2008 that “Care has to be taken to ensure that the sentence was not disproportionate to the facts of the particular offences. If sentences were imposed which were more severe than the circumstances of the particular case warranted, that would be likely to inflame rather than deter extremism.”

The judges’ political analysis of what causes extremism has therefore influenced policy and as a result, up to 30 “high-level” convicted terrorists are going to be released. This includes terrorists involved in a foiled suicide bombing plot in 2005 and two who called for acts of violence in retaliation for the publication of cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohammed in Denmark. The Sunday Times also found that “An analysis of the appeal court cases shows that of the 26 terrorism cases it has heard, 25 have led to men with terrorism convictions having their sentences reduced.”

The British government should realize that not all extremists follow Al-Qaeda’s methods, and embracing those who subscribe to the ideology of groups like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood is no solution to the problem of Islamic radicalism.

Many years ago, when John F. Kennedy was running for President in 1960, the concern with many Americans was that he would be taking his orders from the Pope in the Vatican,and that he would base his policy decisions for the country primarily based on what the Pope told him to do.

Obviously that would mean that America would become a principality ruled by the Vatican, and that goes against every basic fundamental belief that our country is built upon, and it is the very thing that separates our country from the religiously conservative countries that can not progress forward into the future, because they are still basing their laws and beliefs on ancient outmoded teachings.

Do we want our laws to be governed based on the beliefs of the Catholic church even though every citizen in America may not be a believer of Catholicism?

Today, the AP is reporting that  Rep.Patrick Kennedy said that Bishop Thomas J. Tobin “instructed me not to take communion and said that he has instructed the diocesan priests not to give me communion.”…

The reason for barring him from receiving communion is because of his support of abortion rights.

The New York Times is reporting…that Michael K Guilfoyle a spokesman for the diocese, said Sunday that the Bishop has “never addressed matters relative to public officials receiving Holy Communion with pastors of the Diocese of Providence.”

The Bishop added that his instructions to Rep. Kennedy came more than two years ago in a letter on February 21, 2007, he sent to the congressman privately and pastorally.

“In light of the Church’s clear teaching, and your consistent actions,” the letter said, “I believe it is inappropriate for you to be receiving Holy Communion and I now ask respectfully that you refrain from doing so.”

The dispute between the men began when Kennedy criticized the nation’s Catholic bishops for threatening to oppose an overhaul of the health care system unless it included tighter restrictions on publicly financed abortion.

 Tobin asked for an apology and questioned Kennedy’s faith.

Tobin has refused to speak publically about the ban on Rep.Kennedy, or to discuss what he expects from Congressman Kennedy in exchange for his religious freedom to worship in the Catholic church.

I find out separation of church and state to be an effective way for our country to recognize all the religions that are here currently in America, and the ones that are coming.

As long as any religious practice does not limit the Civil Rights of others to not worship in the state mandated religion ,then it is of no concern to the masses,…but when one religion is treated like a head of state,and our Presidents kiss the ring of any religious leader, then we are on a slippery slope into a fundamental religious government, where all non-believers will be persecuted by the religious zealots.

Our country must reject this latest attempt to overturn our Constitution, and we must eliminate any religious organization from threatening our Congressman with such a personal attack as the one that is being launched against Rep.Kennedy by the Catholic church.

I call for all Catholics to write your Bishop’s,and urge them to voice their opinions as all American citizens are free to do, but any attempt at a quid pro quo in exchange for a vote in the Catholic church’s favor, should be discontinued immediately, as it is an attack on our all of our personal religious beliefs.

America is not a Christian country, rather a religiously plural country, where no one religious belief or practice is put before any other religious practice, whether that is Islamic,Hindu,Jewish,Scientology,Catholic, or Protestant.

Any other path, will lead to the end of our American freedoms as we know it…

Save Children Now: Nations Continue to Deny Children’s Universal Human Rights Based on Islamic Supremacism

Twenty Years Ago – November 20, 1989 – the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

But nations that reject religious freedom and defend Islamic supremacism, by viewing that human rights exist only as granted by Sharia, also continue to defy universal human rights for children, including many nations that are signatories to 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child.

While giving the appearance of being “signatories” to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in fact, many of these “Islamic nations” reject such universal human rights for children, including religious freedom – while UNICEF is promoting “events” by such nations allegedly demonstrating their support for “children’s rights” in the Middle East and North Africa and in South Asia — support that in fact does not exist.

UNICEF and other United Nations organizations are meeting with such Islamic supremacist OIC member nations on November 23 and 24, 2009 in Cairo, Egypt to address “CRC and Islamic Jurisprudence” to address “reservations to the effect that the CRC would only be implemented if it is not in conflict with the Islamic Shari’a.”  We are concerned that this Cairo meeting, like so many other efforts to sacrifice human rights to Sharia, may result in further international justification to weaken children’s rights.

The OIC remains an organization that has been repeatedly condemned for seeking to undermine universal human rights.   Leading members of its organization (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt)  are repeatedly shown as in the bottom of the world’s “gender gap” nations, and are among the worst nations in the world in human trafficking (slavery) of women, men, and children.

In many of these nations and growing around the world through immigration, we see an endless pattern of “honor killings” and abuse of young girls and women by those who rationalize such violence by an ideology of Islamic supremacism.

Islamic Caveats on Children’s Rights Convention:

This is how “Islamic nations” have “supported” the November 20, 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child:

Afghanistan:
– “The Government of the Republic of Afghanistan reserves the right to express, upon ratifying the Convention, reservations on all provisions of the Convention that are incompatible with the laws of Islamic Shari’a and the local legislation in effect.”

Algeria:
– interprets children’s rights based on “Islam is the State religion” and “Islamic morality”

Bangladesh:
– “subject to the existing laws and practices in Bangladesh”

Djibouti:
– “[The Government of Djibouti] shall not consider itself bound by any provisions or articles that are incompatible with its religion and its traditional values.”

Pakistan:
– “Provisions of the Convention shall be interpreted in the light of the principles of Islamic laws and values.”

Indonesia:
– “The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia guarantees the fundamental rights of the child irrespective of their sex, ethnicity or race.  The Constitution prescribes those rights to be implemented by national laws and regulations. The ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the Republic of Indonesia does not imply the acceptance of obligations going beyond the Constitutional limits nor the acceptance of any obligation to introduce any right beyond those prescribed under the Constitution.”  (Freedom of religion conspicously absent.)

Iran:
–  “The Islamic Republic of Iran is making reservation to the articles and provisions which may be contrary to the Islamic Shariah, and preserves the right to make such particular declaration, upon its ratification”.
–  “The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right not to apply any provisions or articles of the Convention that are incompatible with Islamic Laws and the international legislation in effect.”

Iraq:
–  “The Government of Iraq has seen fit to accept [the Convention] … subject to a reservation in respect to article 14, paragraph 1, concerning the child’s freedom of religion, as allowing a child to change his or her religion runs counter to the provisions of the  Islamic Shariah .”

Jordan:
– ” The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan expresses its reservation and does not consider itself bound by articles 14, 20 and 21 of the Convention, which grant the child the right to freedom of choice of religion and concern the question of adoption, since they are at variance with the precepts of the tolerant Islamic Shariah.”

Kuwait:
–   “[Kuwait expresses] reservations on all provisions of the Convention that are incompatible with the laws of Islamic Shari’a and the local statutes in effect.”

Malaysia:
– “The Government of Malaysia accepts the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child but expresses reservations with respect to articles 1, 2, 7, 13, 14, 15, [...], 28, [paragraph 1 (a)] 37, [...] of the Convention and declares that the said provisions shall be applicable only if they are in conformity with the Constitution, national laws and national policies of the Government of Malaysia.”

–  “1) Since the Islamic Shariah is one of the fundamental sources of Maldivian Law and since Islamic Shariah does not include the system of adoption among the ways and means for the protection and care of children contained in Shariah, the Government of the Republic of Maldives expresses its reservation with respect to all the clauses and provisions relating to adoption in the said Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Dhul-Hijjah

The month known as Dhul-Hijjah. Our hearts and prayers are with those undertaking the difficult pilgrimage during these days. For those of us who are not performing the Hajj, there are still many ways to make the most of this blessed time!

Virtues of the first 10 Days of Dhul-Hijjah

How many times have we heard Surat Al-Fajr recited, be it in our homes, while memorizing, or in the mosque? As a shorter surah, it may be a frequent part of our prayers, but taking the time to reflect on even a part of the first verse reveals a treasure of meaning. In the first two ayahs (verses) of Surat Al-Fajr Allah says:

وَالْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

“By the dawn; And the ten nights…”

According to scholars of the Qur’an, the days mentioned as significant enough for Allah to swear by them are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

Describing how these ten days are among the best, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” [Bukhari, 2/457]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: “There is no deed that is better before Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha.” He was asked: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” [Al-Daarimi, 1/357]

Thus, the ten days are better than all other days of the year, with no exception, even the last ten days of Ramadan. (The last ten nights of Ramadan, however, are understood to be better than the nights of Dhul-Hijjah, because they include Laylat al-Qadr (the night of power), which is better than a thousand months [Qur'an, 97:3]).

Therefore, whoever is not able to go to Hajj should use this blessed time to complete even more righteous deeds than usual. These can include anything such as giving charity, honouring one’s parents, upholding the ties of kinship, and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil. Fasting and remembrance are particularly recommended:

1. Fasting Nine days, especially on the Day of ‘Arafah:

It is Sunnah for the Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, because fasting is one of the best of deeds. In a hadith qudsi, Allah says: “All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it.” [Bukhari, 1805.]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The Prophet used to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah and the day of Ashura, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays.” [Abu Dawood 2/462]

The ten days of Dhul-Hijjah include Yawm al-`Arafah (the Day of `Arafah), on which Allah perfected His Religion. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“Fasting the day of `Arafah expiates the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one. And fasting the day of Ashura expiates the sins of the past year.” [Muslim]

2. Remembrance

It is Sunnah to recite remembrances known as the takbeer, tahmeed, tahleel, and tasbeeh during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allah:

* Takbeer: Allahu akbar (God is most great)
* Tahmeed: Al-hamdu Lillah (All praises be to God)
* Tahleel: Laa ilaha ill-Allah (There is no god but Allah)
* Tasbeeh: Subhaan-Allah (Glory be to God),

The Prophet (peace be upon him) explained how,

“There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” [Ahmad, 7/224]

While there are different versions, the takbeer can also be recited as follows:

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allah, Allahu akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd.

Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, there is no god but Allah; Allah is Most Great and to Allah be praise.

ISLAMIC  METHOD OF  SLAUGHTERING ANIMALS APPEARS RUTHLESS

Why do Muslims slaughter the animal in a ruthless manner by torturing it and slowly and painfully killing it?

The Islamic method of slaughtering animals, known as Zabiha has been the object of much criticism from a large number of people. One may consider the following points, which prove that the Zabiha method is not only humane but also scientifically the best:

1. Islamic method of slaughtering animal Zakkaytum is a verb derived from the root word Zakah (to purify). Its infinitive is Tazkiyah which means purification. The Islamic mode of slaughtering an animal requires the following conditions to be met:

a.    Animal should be slaughtered with sharp object (knife) The animal has to be slaughtered with a sharp object (knife) and in a fast way so that the pain of slaughter is minimised.

b.    Cut wind pipe, throat and vessels of neck Zabiha is an Arabic word which means ’slaughtered’. The ’slaughtering’ is to be done by cutting the throat, windpipe and the blood vessels in the neck causing the animal’s death without cutting the spinal cord.

c.    Blood should be drained The blood has to be drained completely before the head is removed. The purpose is to drain out most of the blood which would serve as a good culture  medium  for  micro  organisms.  The  spinal  cord  must  not  be  cut because the nerve fibres to the heart could be damaged during the process causing cardiac arrest, stagnating the blood in the blood vessels.

2. Blood is a good medium for germs and bacteria Blood is a good media of germs, bacteria, toxins, etc. Therefore the Muslim way of  slaughtering  is  more  hygienic  as  most  of  the  blood  containing  germs, bacteria, toxins, etc. that are the cause of several diseases are eliminated.

3. Meat remains fresh for a longer time. Meat  slaughtered  by  Islamic  way  remains  fresh  for  a  longer  time  due  to deficiency of blood in the meat as compared to other methods of slaughtering.

4. Animal does not feel pain The swift cutting of vessels of the neck disconnects the flow of blood to the nerve of the brain responsible for pain. Thus the animal does not feel pain. While dying, the animal struggles, writhers, shakes and kicks, not due to pain, but due to the contraction and relaxation of the muscles defecient in blood and due to the flow of blood out of the body.

The Best Days of this World

The Virtues of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja:

1. Ahadith of the Prophet (s):

قال النبي –صلى الله عليه وسلم-( مامن أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام قالوا يا رسول الله : ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله قال ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله إلا رجل خرج بنفسه وماله فلم يرجع من ذلك بشئ) رواه البخاري

The Prophet (s) said: “There are no days in which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than during these days. The Sahaba said: Oh Rasul Allah, not even jihad in the path of Allah? He (s) said: Not even jihad in the path of Allah except for the man who goes out in the path of Allah with his life and his wealth and returns with neither of them.”

وقال ( أفضل أيام الدنيا أيام العشر) رواه البزار وصححه الالبانى.

And he (s) said: “The best days of this world are these ten.”

2. Allah swears by these 10 days in the Qur’an:

قول الله تعالى: ((وَالْفَجْرِ، وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ)) سورة الفجر (1-2)، قال ابن كثير رحمه الله: المراد بها عشر ذي الحجة

Allah says: “By the dawn, and by the 10 nights” [Qur'an, 89:1-2]. Ibn ‘Abbas, Ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid and others of the earlier and later generations said that this refers to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Ibn Katheer said: “This is the correct opinion.”

قال تعالى: ((وَيَذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَّعْلُومَاتٍ)) سورة الحج(28)، قال ابن عباس: أيام العشر

Allah says: “…and mention the name of Allah on appointed days…” [Qur'an, 22:28] Ibn ‘Abbas said these are the ten days.

3. These ten days are better than Ramadan:

قال المحققون من أهل العلم: أيام عشر ذي الحجة أفضل الأيام، وليالي العشر الأواخر من رمضان أفضل الليالي.

Most scholars adopt the opinion that these days are better than the last ten days of Ramadan. However, what holds the last ten days of Ramadan at a higher status is the Night of Power (Laylat ul-Qadr) which is equivalent to one thousand months (83.33 years).

تضاعف فيها الحسنات قال ابن عباس”: العمل فيهن بسبعمائة ضعف”

The rewards are multiplied in these days. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “(The reward for good) deeds are multiplied seven hundred times in these days.”

قال الاوزاعى: “بلغني أن العمل في أيام العشر كقدر غزوة في سبيل الله يصام نهارها ويحرس ليلها إلا أن يختص امرء بشهادة”

Al Awzaa’i said: I was informed that good deeds during the ten days are the equivalent (in reward) to a battle in the path of Allah, in which the day is spent in fasting and the night in safeguarding, except if one is bestowed with martyrdom.”

In Ramadan doing good deeds and struggling in worship, especially during the last ten nights, is easier than during these days for a few reasons. Firstly, the atmosphere of the month of Ramadan, whether culturally, spiritually, or traditionally, makes it easier to focus and strive. Secondly, the shayateen are chained. So, to get that drive and direction we had in Ramadan, is much harder when we have most likely fallen out of “Ramadan mode.” However, since the `ibada is more difficult, the reward is greater. So let’s keep this in mind and get ready to really work hard.

The Plan of Action for these 10 days:

1. Really feel this blessing and realize that it is an opportunity of a lifetime, because none of us know if we will witness these 10 days again.

كان خالد بن معدان يقول( إذا فتح لأحدكم باب للخير فليسرع فاءنه لا يدرى متى يغلق عنه

Khalid bin Mi’dan used to say: “If the door for good is opened for one of you, then rush (to take advantage) because you don’t know when it will close.”

2. Have high aspirations in your worship and use the examples of the ijtihad of the saliheen as motivation.

3. Take advantage of the opportunities to get the reward of hajj while being elsewhere.

قال-صلى الله عليه وسلم-( من صلى الفجر في جماعة ثم قعد يذكر الله حتى تطلع الشمس ثم صلى ركعتين كانت له كأجر حجة وعمرة تامة تامة تامة

The Prophet (s) said: “Whoever prays fajr in congregation and then sits in remembrance of Allah until the sun rises, then prays two rak’aat, he has the full reward of hajj and `umrah.”

4. Perfecting the fara`idh (obligatory actions):

Often times we become busy trying to do extra deeds, but neglect the fact that perhaps maybe what is obligatory upon us is not at the level it should be. There is no way for a person to become close to Allah other than through the obligatory actions, as is apparent in the famous hadith qudsi in which Allah says: “My servant does not become closer to me by anything more beloved to me than what I have obligated upon him.”

Reasonable Goals:

1. Khatm of Qur’an: equivalent to more than half a million hasanaat during these days. Let’s try to complete the recitation of the Qur’an during these days, ending by ‘Asr time on the day of ‘Arafah and spending from ‘Asr to Magrhib in du’aa.

2. Qiyam al-Layl:

Rasulallah (s) said: “Whoever stands in prayer, reciting 1,000 verses is written among the muqantareen.” A qintar is equal to 70,000 dinar. The recitation of the last two ajzaa` of the Qur’an is equivalent to 1,000 verses.

3. Extra Salah during the day: The Prophet (s) said: “There is not a Muslim who prays twelve raka’at per day, other than the obligatory prayers, except that a palace is built for him in paradise.”

4. Dhikr: The best form of worship to do in these ten days as apparent in the hadith:

Ibn `Umar said that the Messenger of Allah (s) said, “There is no day more honorable in Allah ’s sight and no acts more beloved therein to Allah than those in these ten days. So say tahlil (There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah: La ilaha illAllah), takbir (Allah is the greatest: Allahu akbar) and tahmid (All praise is due to Allah: alhumdulillah) a lot.” [Ahmad, 7/224]

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “The best du`a’ is du`a’ on the day of `Arafah, and the best thing that I or the Prophets before me have said is ‘There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner’ (La ilaha illa’llah, wahdahu la sharika lah)” [Muwatta, Malik].

7. Reviving the Sunnah of Takbir:

Ibn `Umar and Abu Hurairah (ra) used to go out in the marketplace during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, reciting takbeer, and the people would recite takbeer when they heard them.

8. Fasting:

The reward of fasting is great, so imagine how much that reward would be multiplied in these days. If one can’t fast all of the 9 days, then at least on the day of `Arafah as it is the greatest day.

Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah (s) said, “Fasting on the day of ‘Arafah is an expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. Fasting the day of `Ashura is an expiation for the year preceding it.” [This is related by "the group," except for al-Bukhari and at-Tirmidhi]

The Prophet (s) said “There is no day that Allah will free people more than the day of `Arafah.”

`Ali (ra) used to advise people to say “Oh Allah free my neck from the fire” on the day of `Arafah.

9. Du`a’:

Especially on the day of `Arafah, but also at anytime. Keep in mind the times where du’aa is more likely to be accepted and ask during those times.

* The last third of the night
* Between the adhaan and iqaamah
* During the rain
* In sujood
* Friday
* While fasting

10. Sadaqa (charity):

Give sadaqa during these days, since the reward is multiplied tremendously.

11. Tawba (asking for forgiveness):

Continually renew repentance.

12. Establish ikhlas in `ibada.

13. Check and renew intentions at all times

The Day of `Eid

On the greatest day, remained focused as it is still part of the first 10 days which are the best days of the year! Try not to get too caught up in celebrating that you stop doing the worship that you were doing the first 9 days.

The day of ‘Eid: a day for visiting family and performing the sacrifice for one who is able.
