You don’t have the time or the resources to evaluate every applicant who strolls in. to guide your work, you should develop a profile of your “ideal” candidate. You may never find your ideal, but you will establish a basic framework that outlines the person you are looking for.

Developing an ideal candidate profile is similar to viewing a lineup of suspects after you’ve witnessed a bank robbery. The individual you pick out may not be the actual bank robber, but chances are the real criminal is strongly similar. Often, a lineup helps police establish the silhouette or basic framework of the person being sought. The police is clear even if the details are not. Likewise, your ideal candidate profile will give you a sharper idea of what you are really looking for, so that you can increase your odds of finding him or her.

Use the following outline to develop of profile of your ideal candidate:

Be specific when you draft your outline. If you want someone with strong follow-up skills, say so. If you want an assertive person who can handle high stress, say so. To create a good match between job and candidate, you need to define the person as closely as you define the job.

Keep your company culture in mind, too. If your company is team-oriented and flexible, you want a candidate who is comfortable with teamwork—and not everyone is. If your department is highly structured, you want someone who works well in a structured situation. Describe the qualities that your company values so that you can find compatible candidates.

Just remember that defining the candidate is a lot like shopping for groceries: the more you toss into your shopping cart, the more you’ll pay. The cost of filling a job is influenced by two factors: how long it takes to find the candidate, and the supply of qualified candidates. The greater the number of must have items on your list, the longer it’s going to take to find that person. The greater the experience, skills, or education requirements, the smaller the supply of candidates and the larger the compensation package required to hire the person.

Questo è un accessorio che volevo dotarmi fin dall’inizio, di cui mi sono informato per molto tempo, anche la visita alla Fiera di Rimini era dovuta parzialmente per questo motivo.

Devo dire che io avevo le idee abbastanza chiare, sul prodotto, sulla potenza, poi ho conosciuto un installatore, con cui sto ancora trattando per altri argomenti.

E’ un carrozziere ed installatore specifico per camper, di provata affidabilità, mi ha consigliato un pannello da 80 w, della Sharp, è un policristallino (doveva essere un monocristallino, ma questa è un’altra storia), collegato direttamente alla centralina Arsilicii AL 310 x, originale del camper (caratteristiche tecniche).

E’ stato montato sulle barre del porta pacchi già presente, mettendolo sopra la cucina, è stato utilizzato, per far passare i cavi, il foro della cappa, facendoli scendere dal camino.

Sta funzionando benissimo, dalla centralina è possibile vedere il funzionamento del fotovoltaico, con l’accensione del simbolo del sole sulla sezione del pannello.

Every Monday I enjoy the literary pages of the Outlook section of the Bangkok Post. The articles are usually well selected for their diversity and informative value and, because they are mostly imported verbatim from Western newspapers or press agencies, word-perfect. The only jarring notes are with locally penned articles, which often beg for substantial subediting.

A case in point this morning: under the clunky title ‘Collection of books that come at perfect timing’, a review of three recent books on Thai-Cambodian relations now and in the past could have done with some sprucing.

The piece has quite a few quaint, almost poetic, formulations, such as ‘(the book) is basically a recollection of booklets’, ‘a Hindu temple on the brink of the…border’, ‘Thai bitterness over the Preah Vihear’, ‘so many Thais are stuck in historical wounds’, and ‘In arguing the genuine land that belonged to Siam…the lecturer…’.

But it is by the end that mistakes pile up:

…her book is to confront those parts straightforwardly, be it the support Thailand has secretly and overtly showered the Khmer Rouge in fighting against the Vietnam-backed Heng Samrin regime. However…That unfortunate event should explain why – from the Cambodian’s viewpoint – Thailand is not a popular neighbour. The three books well compliments one another…

Methinks ‘be it’ introduces a list, not a single item. But, well, so be it. I wonder if showering the Khmer Rouge means taking them to the cleaners, and who that Cambodian fellow is I haven’t the foggiest. And when three books are not enough to form a plural, why shouldn’t they be full of praise for one another?

But then, this is trifling compared to Sharp’s verbose Thaiglish ad on yesterday’s Brunch Magazine’s back cover about ‘Preventing the threat of “The Invisible”’ in the form of ‘imminently dangerous TB bacteria and influenza viruses’ – eminently repellent prose that should imminently result in lost sales. Are times so dire that even Sharp isn’t sharp enough to afford professional copywriting and editing?

Second, the subject matter relates directly to your needs. Irrelevant information is avoided. And third, you’ll acquire as much useful information from other attendees as you do from the instructors. The European Union may have inched out of its sharpest recession since the global slump of the 1930s, but green shoots are not emerging uniformly across the 27-nation bloc’s eastern member states.

Contrasts are sharp among the 10 ex-communist countries that have joined the EU since 2004.

The situation in Poland, the only EU nation to have enjoyed sustained growth this year, compares with the stark lot of countries such as Latvia or Hungary, where the economies have been in freefall.

“In terms of growth, eastern Europe will trail behind the rest of the world,” said Erik Bergloef, chief economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which focuses on the ex-communist bloc.

“Over the next few years, this will be the region with the lowest economic growth,” he said in an interview in the Austrian daily Der Standard.

Combined third-quarter figures last week showed that the EU — the world’s biggest trading bloc — had joined Japan and the United States in returning to growth, albeit modestly.

The entire EU economy grew by 0.2 percent in July to September compared with April to June, after five straight quarters of shrinking. A recession is generally defined as two quarters of economic contraction in a row.

“Central and eastern Europe countries remain highly dependent on western Europe, which is much more powerful economically. As a result, their future hinges on recovery in western Europe,” Polish analyst Witold Orlowski, of PricewaterhouseCoopers, told AFP.

“Countries like Bulgaria or the Baltic states, which are heavily dependent on foreign capital, are suffering the most. They are dicing with disaster and are still worried about the stability of their currencies,” he said.

The Baltic trio of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia had earned reputations as tigers within the EU, topping the growth tables, before their overheated, credit-fuelled economies went off the rails last year.

Latvia, like Hungary and Romania, has had to be bailed out by the International Monetary Fund.

“Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, who made fewer mistakes, can look to the future more serenely,” said Orlowski.

Slovakia — which adopted the euro in January, joining ex-communist Slovenia in the 16-nation eurozone, and is heavily dependent on car and white goods exports — posted 1.6-percent growth in the third quarter.

“That’s even stronger than the growth in Germany and the Czech Republic” which expanded by 0.7 and 0.8 percent respectively, said Tatra Banka analyst Juraj Valachy in Slovakia.

In the Czech Republic, Raiffeisenbank analyst Michal Brozka said: “The recession is behind us. We’re in a stabilisation phase, but we still need to wait for a real recovery.”

In the Baltics, Lithuania emerged from recession with estimated 5.1-percent growth in the third quarter, but still saw its economy shrink by 14.3 percent compared with the same period of 2008.

Finance Minister Ingrida Simonyte urged caution after that data was released, saying she would only talk about recovery after two quarters of growth and that it was “too early to say when we’ll see the result in people’s pockets.”

Rimantas Rudzkis, chief analyst at the bank DnB Nord in Lithuania, said that while signs of recovery should appear there in the second half of 2010, “faster and more sustained economic development could only be expected in 2012 at the earliest”.

Latvia’s economy contracted by 18.3 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period in 2008. Riga has not yet published a comparison of the third quarter with the second.

Estonia, meanwhile, posted a 2.8-percent contraction against the second quarter and 15.3 percent compared with 2008.

“The situation in the Baltic states is the least optimistic, because they have been subjected to the severest recession in the EU,” said Violeta Klyviene, an analyst at Danske Bank in Lithuania.

Hungary’s economy shrank 1.8 percent from the second quarter and by 7.2 percent compared with last year. The figures for Romania were 0.7 percent and 7.1 percent respectively.

Bulgaria posted its worst performance since the crisis began as its economy shrank by 5.8 percent in the third quarter compared with 2008. Analysts said a recovery was unlikely until 2011.

La légende veut que Rudy Moreno leader de The Oppressed, groupe mythique s’il en est pour nous, ait “importé” en Grande-bretagne le principe SHARP (skinHeads Again Racial Prejudice) de retour d’un voyage aux USA. En effet la scène alors très riche de NewYork qui donnera naissance au punk hxc qui deviendra aussi pour partie le hardcore contenait un certain nombre de skinheads qui refusaient la main-mise de l’extrême-droite sur ce milieu. Moreno avait déjà eu fort à faire pour virer des skins fachos (que nous nommons boneheads) lors des concerts de The Oppressed. Le National Front, parti d’extrême-droite avait en effet noyauté le milieu skin des 1979. Pour Moreno il était devenu temps en 1984 de rompre définitivement avec l’image véhiculé partout des skinheads nazis pour definir le skinhead tel qu’il apparu vers 1969: un jeune prolétaire vêtu de ses vêtements de travail (d’où les bretelles et les boots) qui se rendait aux concerts de reggae de la communauté jamaïcaine, c’est-a-dire un jeune ouvert d’esprit et prolétaire c’est-à-dire défendant des valeurs de “gauche”. C’est pourquoi les SHARP sont des skinheads de gauche, mais qui contrairement aux RASH ou aux redskins (comme rs2f) ne considèrent pas que l’identité skinhead puisse donner lieu en soi à un engagement politique. Moreno pourtant ne cesse de rappeler la proximité des SHARP avec la “gauche” anarchiste ou communiste. Leur symbole est un casqué troyen qui était le casque des soldats de base de l’armée grecque, les hoplites. Ce symbole vient, outre ce côté “soldat populaire”, des disques TROJAN RECORDS grand producteur de musique reggae, ska, dub dont les sharp et les skins en général dont friands. Les SHARP inverse le sens du casqué de TROJAN RECORDS (ici nous avons repris le logo du label et non du Sharp). C’est au début 90 que le SHARP traverse la manche pour s’installer dans certaines villes de province en France. Le groupe le plus important est le SHARP Paris et son groupe HARDxTIMES que cependant nous n’aimons guère associer au mouvement SHARP depuis que son leader a procédé à une défense inconditionnelle de l’État Israélien, s’éloignant à notre sens des valeurs antiracistes.

If there’s one thing which I really never liked about Fedora, and in fact Linux in general, it’s the fonts, they always seemed so soft and blurry. No more! It took me a little while, but I figured it out.

First install freetype, which is apparently illegal in some countries:

su -c “yum install freetype-freeworld”
