The first two signatures were sewed today. Each signature contains six sheets (12 pages). In the beginning the procedure took longer than we expected due to many of the procedures were used first time on the large book. Even a simple folding required three person’s simultaneous work and every endeavor to make a straight fold.

Progress: 24 done out of 336 pages.

This elegantly simple cake is white with a vanilla buttercream and covered in a marshmallow fondant.  There were 3 sheet cakes that were made for the guests as well.  One was banana with banana buttercream, the second was strawberry with a strawberry buttercream and the third was a lemon cake with a lemon buttercream.  The wedding was held in Harrodsburg, KY. The topper is a beautiful fresh flower combination of red tulips and red roses.  The arrangement was created by Ellis Florist of Harrodsburg, KY.

Due to the large size and weight of the book, exceptionally we started with gluing the end-leaf to the front cover. Our plan was not to glue the last 30 cm (~12 inch) of the end-leaf on the spine end, so the first page can go under it and we can fix them both to the front end. By mistake we have fully fixed this sheet to the cover, leaving only the a remaining of 28 cm (~11 inch) free.

If you’re a music teacher on a tight budget it can be difficult to find the money to purchase sheet music for the myriad of music ensembles, instrumental and vocal students you may have at your school.  It’s good to know that these days there are literally hundreds of websites that offer free sheet music and a large percent of the titles are also copyright-free so you can arrange, transpose or transform the original to your heart’s content.  I’ve listed a few sites below, but if you’d like to find more, just search Google for “free sheet music”.

1. International Music Score Library Project A collection of public domain scores and scores from modern/current composers who are willing to share their work.

2. Mutopia A collection of public domain classical sheet music.  Their collection of modern editions is also growing.

3. The Gutenberg Sheet Music Project A sister project of the electronic book-sharing site Project Gutenberg

4. Choral Music Public Domain Started in 1998, this site is devoted to choral music

5. Band Music PDF Library They describe their collection as “music from the Golden Age of the American town band”.

6. Sheet Music Fox has public domain music as well as links to other sites containing copyrighted music.

7. Free Scores like some of the other sites, this one contains a variety of public domain scores and scores from current composers.  Check the licence page for details of how each piece can be used.

8. EZ Folk Folk songbooks from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s printed in their entirety.

9. Sibelius Music A place for Sibelius users to share their compositions and arrangements.  Not all are free, but you can include the word “free” in your search terms to narrow the choices.  There are more than 92,600 scores on this site.

10. Mus Open A collection of sheet music and mp3s.  Mus Open are even starting a collaborative text book project.

11. Public Domain Sherpa Although the sites above offer free sheet music it’s wise to be aware that not all titles are completely copyright-free.  Public Domain Sherpa offers a run-down of many sheet music sites (including ones not listed here) and lets you know whether the music may be subject to copyright restrictions.

MICROSOFT EXCEL

Pengertian dan Fungsi M. Excel

• Suatu program atau aplikasi yang berjalan di bawah sistem operasi Windows yang berfungsi untuk pengolahan angka dan data.
• M. Excel biasa disebut dengan spreadsheet atau lembar sebar, karena memang fungsinya sebagai pengolah data dan angka.
• Sampai dengan versi 2003, mempunyai 256 kolom yang dimulai dari huruf A sampai dengan huruf IV dan mempunyai 65536 baris.
• M. Excel identik dengan tabel, karena tersusun atas kolom dan baris sebagai tampilan dasarnya.
• Kolom adalah bagian vertikal dari sebuah tabel.
• Baris adalah bagian horizontal dari sebuah tabel.
• Range adalah kumpulan dari beberapa sel yang dibatasi oleh alamatsel (blok) tertentu.
• Secara umum, pada saat membuka atau membuat file baru dalam Excel akan disediakan 3 buah sheet yang namanya diletakkan pada bagian kiri di bawah worksheet.

Kita dapat bekerja pada sheet mana saja dan dapat melakukan pengelolaan sheet seperti: mengganti nama sheet, menyisipkan sheet, menghapus sheet, memindahkan sheet, dan menyalin sheet.

Mengganti Nama Sheet

Penggantian nama sheet ke nama tertentu biasanya dapat mempercepat dan memudahkan ingatan terhadap pekerjaan yang beraneka ragam bentuk dan jenisnya. Langkah-langkahnya:

• Aktifkan nama sheet yang akan diganti.
• Klik kanan pada sheet kemudian pilih Rename.
• Ketikkan nama sheet yang baru.
• Tekan Enter.

Menghapus Sheet

Langkah-langkah menghapus sheet adalah:

• Klik kanan pada sheet yang akan dihapus.
• Pilih Delete.

Menyisipkan/Menambah Sheet Baru

Langkah-langkah menyisipkan/menambah sheet adalah:

• Klik kanan pada sheet.
• Pilih Insert.
• Pada General pilih Worksheet.
• Klik OK.

Menyalin Data Antar Sheet

Langkah-langkah menyalin data antar sheet adalah:

• Klik kanan pada sheet yang berisi data.
• Pilih Move or Copy.
• Pilih sheet yang akan dikirimi data.
• Klik OK.

Memindahkan Urutan Sheet

Untuk memindahkan urutan sheet, cukup dengan melakukan drag pada sheet yang akan dipindahkan.

Memberi Warna Pada Sheet

Langkah-langkah untuk memberikan warna pada sheet adalah:

• Klik kanan pada sheet yang akan diberi warna.
• Pilih Tab Color.
• Tentukan warna yang diinginkan, kemudian klik OK.

Mencapai Ujung Kolom dan Baris Excel dengan Cepat

• Untuk dapat sampai di kolom paling ujung dari Excel, pada keyboard tekan arah panah ke kanan bersamaan dengan huruf N.
• Untuk dapat sampai di baris paling ujung dari Excel, pada keyboard tekan arah panah ke bawah bersamaan dengan huruf N.

Menuliskan Data pada Excel

• Untuk menuliskan data pada sel, dilakukan dengan cara biasa yaitu mengetikkan/memasukkan data ke dalam sel.
• Untuk mengedit data dalam sel, sebelumnya tekan F2 pada keyboard agar kata dalam sel tidak hilang.

Memperlebar atau Mempersempit Kolom dan Baris

• Untuk memperlebar dan mempersempit kolom atau baris, cukup dengan melakukan drag and drop pada kolom dan baris yang akan diperlebar/dipersempit.
• Untuk memperlebar/mempersempit kolom dan baris sesuai dengan isi data pada sel, letakkan mouse pada perbatasan sel sampai mouse berubah bentuk menjadi +. Kemudian lakukan double klik.

Memformat Data pada Excel

• Untuk membuat tulisan berada di tengah (dalam sel yang horisontal), blok tulisan dengan semua sel yang membatasinya. Klik Merge and Center pada toolbar formating.
• Untuk membuat tulisan berada di tengah (dalam 2 sel atau lebih secara menurun), blok tulisan dengan semua sel yang membatasinya. Klik kanan lalu pilih Format Cells→Allignment→pada Horizontal ubah menjadi Center→pada Vertical ubah menjadi Center→pada Text Control berilah tanda→OK.
• Untuk membuat tulisan yang terdiri dari dua kata atau lebih menjadi terpisah/berada pada sel yang berbeda secara menurun, langkahnya: blok tulisan dengan sel yang membatasinya (sel yang berada di bawah tulisan)→klik kanan pilih Format Cells→Allignmet→pada Horizontal ubah menjadi Center→pada Vertical ubah menjadi Center→pada Text Control dan Wrap Text berilah tanda→OK.
• Untuk membuat nomor urut tanpa harus menulis manual, langkahnya: tulis angka yang menjadi awal→enter lalu kembali ke sel awal→pilih menu Edit→Fill pilih Series→pada Series in pilih di antara Rows (nomor per baris) atau Columns (nomor per kolom)→pada Type pilih Linear→pada Step Value berisi nomor awal→pada Stop Value berisi nomor terakhir→klik OK.
• Untuk memberi garis pada tabel, langkahnya: blok tabel→klik kanan pilih Format Cells→Border→pada Preset pilih Outline dan Inside→pada Line pilih style→pada border pilih garis→klik OK.
• Untuk memberi warna pada tabel, langkahnya: blok tabel→klik kanan pilih Format Cells→Patterns→pada Color pilih warna→pada Pattern pilih pola→klik OK.
• Untuk format penulisan angka, yaitu memberi tanda pada ribuan, langkahnya: blok sel yang berisi angka yang akan diformat→klik kanan pilih Format Cells→Number→pada Category pilih Number→tentukan angka decimal pada Decimal Places→beri tanda pada Use 1000 separator (,)→klik OK.
• Untuk memberi simbol Rp (rupiah) pada harga, langkahnya: : blok sel yang berisi angka yang akan diformat→klik kanan pilih Format Cells→Number→pada Category pilih Currency→tentukan angka decimal pada Decimal Places→pada Symbol pilih Rp (Indonesian) →klik OK.

Memasukkan Formula

M. Excel sering digunakan untuk membuat lembar kerja yang banyak menggunakan perhitungan maupun pengujian isi suatu sel lembar kerja. Dalam melakukan perhitungan maupun pengujian tersebut, rumus yang banyak dipakai adalah rumus matematika, rumus statistika, dan operator logika.

Beberapa operator matematika yang sering digunakan untuk melakukan perhitungan, antara lain:

• + (plus)        = penjumlahan
• - (minus)       = pengurangan
• * (kali)         = perkalian
• / (bagi)        = pembagian
• ^ (pangkat)   = pemangkatan

Untuk menggunakan semua fungsi di dalam Excel, kita harus mengawalinya dengan tanda sama dengan ( = ). Proses penghitungan dilakukan dengan cara mendahulukan derajat penghitungan yang lebih tinggi, yaitu perkalian dan pembagian dihitung lebih dahulu daripada penjumlahan dan pengurangan.

Menggunakan Alamat Relatif dan Absolut

Alamat sel relatif adalah alamat sel yang berisikan data formula (rumus), yakni data di dalam suatu sel yang diperoleh dengan memasukkan rumus. Data formula bila dilihat pada worksheet akan tampak berupa angka, tetapi apabila dilihat pada formula bar yang terlihat adalah rumusnya.

Alamat absolut adalah alamat sel lembar kerja yang bersifat tetap. Bila dilakukan pengopian atau pemindahan lembar kerja maka sel tersebut tidak akan bergeser (tetap pada tempatnya).

The lovely and talented Joan E. Mattis, aka Joni Mattis, Playboy’s Miss November 1960, is noteworthy in the history of the magazine for several things.

First, she was Hugh Hefner’s lover for awhile and also worked for the company for a long time (not so unusual). Not so usually, second, she refused to bare it all for her shoot. With her dark hair and luminous eyes, Joni looked like a porcelain doll, but she had spunk. On one occasion, she not-so-accidentally nudged a potential rival for Hef’s affections, fully clothed in a crepe cocktail dress, into the Chicago Mansion’s swimming pool. Fun fact: she was a pocket rocket. 5′2″ and 85 lbs at the time of the shoot, when she was — oh, ho! Looky there. The Playboy stats sheet says, “Unfortunately, this data sheet was incomplete.” No age, ambitions, turn-ons … nothing but the pictures and the raw numbers of her measurements. The total woman of mystery. I guess it was between her and Hef, a couple of crazy Chicago kids in love and running a tasteful skin empire.

Joan died of cancer September 4, 1999. She was only 61.
